We’re nearing most Tappers favorite day, Black Friday! Yes a day when all those premium items you’ve been eyeing go on deep discount. Of course, this is TSTO and everything has a twist. This year’s twist, just like last year’s, is that you can’t just outright buy something. Everything comes in Mystery Box! So if you’ve been eyeing that one particular character you may have to clean out a box to do so!
So, as we’ve done in the past, let’s give you guys a preview of what’s in store starting TOMORROW…November 20th. Yes, that’s right. Black Friday gets earlier and earlier each year. Apparently EA couldn’t wait until Friday, instead, they have the items hitting Tuesday.
Note: Once they’re live I’ll start posting typical Mystery Box posts with links to Should I Buys for each box.

GENERAL CONCEPT
First up… the main idea of these sales…
- Unlike past years (where twelve old item returns for a discounted price, one at a time, every hour, twice a day, each day of the sale), this year’s sale will feature a variety of Mystery Boxes. (just like last year)
- The items in your Mystery Boxes are items you do NOT already have in your game OR they are items that you may be able to get more than one of.
- If you already have all the items from a Mystery Box in your game, and all of the items are unique, you will not see that Mystery Box. If you have ALL the items already, you may not even see a Mystery Box at all… or a very very limited few.
- As with any Mystery Box, it’s a mystery which of the items within you will receive. So if you want one particular item, it may take several cracks at that Mystery Box to get said item.
- This is a list of items in the Mystery Boxes based off of the information at the time of this post. EA can change that information at anytime before the Sales go live in your game.
BLACK FRIDAY SALE BOXES
As of right now, there will be 16 boxes available for purchase between November 20th and November 28th. That’s double the boxes from last year and double the time to shop. Here is a list of items contained within these 16 boxes listed alphabetically:
Note: Some boxes may contain duplicate items with other boxes. It’s unclear how it will appear in the game, but in some cases, certain characters appear under multiple boxes. We’ll have to see how it plays out. For the purposes of this post, I’ve tried to only include them in 1 box. (especially since they’re unique, and in some cases, the boxes they’re listed in are 2 different prices, so the file wording doesn’t make a lot of sense)

Gold Box requires tokens, which can only be purchased with cash when you buy donuts. Buying donuts in the store will give you the tokens you’ll need to unlock these boxes.

A few things are still a little confusing to me, based on what’s written in the files, so we’ll have to see how it physically plays out in the game. Because there are so many boxes this year I don’t think I’ll do individual posts on each box. Once I see it in game I’ll determine how I’m going to do the links. So we’ll see what happens!

Just noticed that the kids box was 40, and Taylor house was in both. Only needed a few kids so I made sure to get the Taylor house before getting any of the women to avoid overpaying.

Wow this is a lot. I am really looking forward to open some boxes, but will also probably end up with a lot of new quests that will all need the same characters to complete the quest. I always like my book as empty as possible.

Here is the way that I have made sense of it. You had MORE TIME with the beloved character for which you dropped more sprinkles. Time is valuable. Let’s say that you (God forbid) got hit by a double decker (do they still have those over there?), tomorrow. Now…wouldn’t you be happy to know that you had a full six months or more of time with Sven? I know the Sven was happy. You are wonderful person who enrich the lives of all you touch. That’s what Sven told me.
So…know that some Premium characters are worth the money. Oh. Wait. Did you say Sven Golly…the one for which you had to pay real money…not just farmed donuts? Pffffttttttttt… you got hosed!

In April this year I paid £9.99 for Sven Golly. He was advertised as a limited time event character only available if you purchased donuts during that event.
I am very angry that this character is now available during the black Friday deals. Not even for real money anymore but for donuts!
I want a refund please. You can’t advertise a real money time limited purchase then offer it a few months later for a currency you can generate for free in the game i.e. donuts.
I understand old event content returning in sales which is great, but NOT something that actually cost real money with a limited time only stamp on it. That’s wrong.
I suggest you remove Sven Golly from the black Friday deals as soon as possible or you will get a lot of angry customers like me who originally paid actual money for him.
In the meantime I await your reply and my refund.

I would’ve been fine if they offered Sven around the year 2020 (for the players who don’t have him) or something…he came on this mystery box way too early smh 😤. I’m against donut exclusive characters but I do feel that the point of bundling them in donut packages has now losts its meaning/purpose…
But Did we all actually pay 9.99 for Sven? Or, did we pay 9.99 for Donuts (300, I think) and get Sven for Free – and then spend the donuts in the game to buy something additional? And yes, I happily bought Sven back then too.
So just playing devils advocate here, but the way I see it either way we got something extra (Sven or donughts) with that purchase.

Awesome! A chance to get some elusive one-off characters. Goal is to possess 350 total revenue generating characters. Currently at 338 (335 characters plus three Spuckler kids) after 5-1/2 years of playing. Just might achieve the goal based on Mystery Box content!
I like about 2 of the boxes, but i had hoped that a black Friday sale would have also meant a decrease in price/quantity for donuts. I just cleared 150 again, and think i’ll shoot for the cracker factory, barney or jasper. Not much else interests me. I’m just thrilled to be able to go to FleetFarm & Menards for door busters this year, as well as Best Buy. Last year i missed by fingers on a 5TB hard drive for $100.

Try to finished clean the character box (powel motor and herb must have it), men’s box and the last not the least women’s box.
Some how there is a glitch in my app 4 days ago that Black Friday already start in my games just for couple ahour before back to normal so i already purchase all items in kid’s mystery box…
So after 4 days break include kem farming (just got 500 donuts ) and finished all the story line for new character, ready for continue purchase in Black friday…. happy tapping all…

How much is it going to take to get the donut making machine? Seems like you have to purchase all the donut offers in order to complete the quest line. That’s a lot of cash nice if you can spare the money.
There’s no machine I know of that makes donuts. There is the boat that when you tap on it will have a donut rain animation for a few seconds but you had to purchase it, it wasn’t part of a quest line. There is also the donut torture device for Homer but that doesnt make donuts either, its an animation for Homer.
And…there is donut farming, using the XP Accelerator

No need to keep quiet on this…it odes. Kinda. 6 every 24 hours. You can get the same with Railyard farming…and a lot more with donut farming. But…hey…it’s something. Right? About $50 worth of something.
That would be the Lard Lad Donut Factory. In order to get it you need to buy a TOTAL of 600 donuts. I started with 12 and worked my way up 300, Only then did I realize thatt the donuts were cumulative, and another 132 finished me off. In the US, that was a total of $47.
I suspect that the cheapest way would be to buy two lots of 300 right off. That would be $40 in the US.
The Donut Factory comes with a short quest for Homer. It generates 6 donuts every 24 hours. There’s no way to speed it up (which would mean spending donuts to get donuts, so I’m not surprised you can’t do it).
Note: I’m a completist with more money than sense. Only you can determine whether the Donut Factory is for you.
This sounds great. I had just saved my 150 donuts to buy Luann and the cracker factory and couldn’t find her anywhere but she’s going to appear for 60 donuts in a mystery box, I’m willing to take that chance.

It looks like, you could get some some skins in the Alter-Ego box by themselves. What if I don’t have the premium character already?!
They likely won’t show up.
You may be able to get them, but not to use them. Like Squirrel Luann and Stonecutter Jasper, you will be able to activate them once you have the corresponding character.
I have some skins sitting in inventory – I can’t use them until I buy the main character.
Oh this is very helpful. The only thing that interests me in the alter egos box is captain Bob because i don’t have sideshow Bob. Won’t purchase then. Will wait and hope for another day.
I just got the Rockin Otto bundle from the Alter Egos box, and it DID include regular Otto. (Which is precisely what I wanted and now I have to decide what to go after next.) Can’t speak for any other premium character outfits in that box.

Was a bit worried as I went down through the lists as there are quite a few things in most boxes I have little interest in.
Thankfully a few of the boxes will be really good for me.
Box 8 ‘Youngsters’ – only missing Kearney’s other son & Erik.
Box 9 ‘Women’ missing 2 – Ms. Sinclair & President Lisa. Want both
Box 12 ‘Characters’ – missing a few of these. Only really want Lucille (finally!). Other 2 I don’t have are Anger Watkins & Chester, to whom I’m indifferent, but if I have to get them to get Lucille, I am fine with that.
Box 15 ‘Men’ – Mainly want Moe’s Express with Larry & Sam. Others I’m missing from that box (& not overly interested in) are Laird Ladd, Ramrod, Wheels & Hollis. Also Moe’s house, which I would like to have in my town.
Please EA! if you are reading this: Duff Gardens! I missed it due to the glitch and, to my knowledge, i haven’t seen it since.
You have to reach player level 60 in order to get the offer for Duff Gardens. That’s how it was for me because I hadn’t yet downloaded the game for the first time until after the time that EA had first released Duff Gardens.
If you have already passed player level 60, and the Duff Gardens offer still has not yet shown up for you, I recommend that you contact EA directly by sending them a support ticket through the game itself.

I have been farming and saving and resisting many other donut purchases for just this sale….HOPING…they would do the mystery boxes like last year.
I will end up donutless, but with LOADS of stuff at a steal compared to the normal cost.
I have like 3 weeks off at the end of the year, I think I will need it just for creating designs in my town from all the Black Friday stuff!!!!

I have a dilemma with regards to all of these mystery boxes (except the Gold Box). According to my calculations, I will need to buy 3 Boatloads Of Donuts (in other words: 7200 Donuts) in order to get everything in the mystery boxes that I don’t already have in addition to all of the other premium content for this event. I only have enough money this month for buying 2400 Donuts. My dilemma is that I don’t know what mystery boxes and other premium content I should focus on getting during this event, and what I should wait on getting until a future event, so any help with solving this dilemma would be greatly appreciated.
My advice has always been…first choice: characters (they bring in more cash than buildings and take no land to place them), second: bonus xp% items (go for a smaller footprint with higher % ) or combos with a character and a bonus% decoration, third: combos with a character and a building that earns cash, fourth: buildings that earn cash, and lastly…anything that earns nothing. Make sure you buy your donuts in the right order to complete the quest line and you will receive the donut making machine.it gives you 6 donuts a day, thats over 2000 a year!
Tricky EA. Golden coin quest had me buy a box. Never saw the buy donut option to the left of the mystery boxes. You had to scroll to the left to see it. Won’t be able to complete the other gold coin quest. Such a huge loss for me.
I only need to buy Donuts once in order to complete the questline, and the questline does not make my dilemma worse, but the Donut Factory will not be of sufficient use for the mystery boxes, especially at 6 Donuts per day
