What a wonderful treat! Without prompting, without cajoling, EA saw fit to “keep the tradition alive,” and bring us a Thanksgiving and Black Friday update! Wooooo!! (I’d add a “hoooo” but, I’m still trying to get a handle on how thankful I really am!).
I’m not going to state the obvious…but the fact is, the huge burst of new Covid cases, and the resulting shutdowns, pleas, and out-and-out begging to be safe, has created a Thanksgiving that is unlike any in my entire almost-67-year-lifetime. This is a holiday that is made for tradition. Families getting together in mass, to celebrate with far too much food, a smattering of drama (especially if the family is a “house divided over politics in an election year), and loads and loads of reminiscing about the “good old days!”
Wait. Maybe, with all of the insanity going on right now, a “small family gathering” is exactly what we need. Maybe Covid is God’s way of saying…CHILLAX!!!!!
Or…maybe it is just part of the REST of the crappiest year in history…including this so-called Thanksgiving Event in TSTO.
Let’s break this down… and decide if EA is worthy of our Thanks…or if it is Thanksgiving Lite, at best! Continue reading →
So it’s the week BEFORE Black Friday, and Black Friday “deals” have been live in our game for a couple of days now. Late with Halloween, early with Black Friday, sounds about right for EA.
Anyway, similar to last year, EA has not only added Mystery Boxes to our games but they’ve also added cash only (as in, actual cash…not in-game cash) prizes/options. Loads of questions/comments/complaints/general panic coming in over this. So let’s break it all down…
Turkey time in Springfield and this time the cranberry sauce is fighting back! Of course, an all-new event means all-new premium content in our stores, just tempting us to drop those pink sprinkles!
As we all know, that limited-time label can tempt us to grab everything in sight because it’ll be gone soon. But don’t sweat it! That’s where we come in to tell you what’s worth those donuts and what you might want to hold off on.
Wondering if you should add the Blarg Alien, Blarg Huts, and Blarg Thanksgiving Table to your Springfield? Well before you hit that confirm button let’s break down the pros and cons of adding this Blarg bunch to your town…
Turkey time in Springfield and this time the cranberry sauce is fighting back! Let’s dive into the Turbo Tappin’ Version for the Blargsgiving mini-event questline, and see just how to unlock all of the prizes…
As I suspected, Thanksgiving has arrived in Springfield! (rather sneaky, my splash screen changed and I don’t recall updating…)
You’ll need Homer and Marge free to kick things off, followed by 4hr currency earning task for Homer, Marge, Bart, Lisa, Grampa, Milhouse, Martin, and Wiggum.
Yes, Black Friday is included with this.
I’ve got a thousand things going on at work this morning, so I’ll be back in a little while to break it all down for you. Until then, feel free to use this post to discuss the event...
Details below the fold…
(and yes, THOH Showoff will still be going up. I’ll have it up later today. Thought I had a few more hours before this one started..)
