Thankgiving 2018 has hit the store! Here are the basics.

Phew! We got a nice long break between the end of Halloween and the start of this new Mini-Event of a whole…let’s see…4 or 5 hours? Nice. Thanks EA.

But, at least we are staying ahead of the seasons, and not mixing them all up like they do at Costco and Target.

Thanksgiving is upon us! (except don’t start thawing the turkey yet…you’ll get botulism). It looks like this event is going to be “Moe-Centric” which makes me thankful that it isn’t another Homer-Centric event! Not that I have an ax to grind with Homer, but let’s face it…he always steals the drumsticks before anyone else can get one.

Here are the basics that we know about so far. Alissa will do a much more complete version when she returns from Disneyworld tonight!

Thanksgiving is Coming!

Hey Howdy Hey Tappers!

Thanksgiving has hit the files. Which means we should see an update shortly. This will be an App Store Update, so check your app stores for the download. On the initial look through of the files, here are a few things I can tell you:

-This will be a standard mini event, running 2 weeks long. So End Date is November 28th. (Christmas will likely start the following week)

-Everything for this mini-event will center around Moe…and his family

-Yes, Black Friday Mystery Boxes will be back. Those will start on November 20th, and they’ll end on the 28th.

-This event includes 8 new buildings, 3 new characters, and 3 new decorations…as well as a ton of returning content.

I’m still in Florida (Disney World) until tomorrow night so Patric will cover the rundown post when the mini event hits. Bare with us, as I won’t be able to do much (post wise) until I’m home. Fortunately, it’s a standard mini event…pretty simple to finish.

So remember to check those app stores and enjoy the Thanksgiving Mini Event!

Why Does TSTO Re-download Every Time I Open My Game?

Hey Howdy Hey Tappers!

Happy final hours of Halloween! (finally!) While we all await the final countdown, and for something new to hit our games, I thought I’d take a minute this morning to tackle a very common question we see in the comments (and through email). Here’s an example of the question:

“Can you please tell me why every morning for the past 2 weeks my game downloads everything again?
I’ve been playing this game for at least 5 years and it’s never done this. “

The answer, my friends, is pretty simple. You need to free up some space on your device.

TSTO is a GIANT suck on the storage of your device and requires you to have roughly ~~5GB of FREE space to play~~. Update 2021: This post was originally written back in 2018…We now recommend at least 15GB free. When it redownloads the game every time you start to play it you simply need to free up some space so you have at least 5 GB free (preferably more) and it will stop. Well, it’ll download one more time, but then it won’t do it again. Well, it’ll do it again every time there’s an actual update but it won’t do it daily.

Nice and easy fix for something that, I’m sure, is driving a bunch of you crazy!
