Addicts Want to Know: 2018 “Year In Review” Main Events

Hey Howdy Hey Tappers!

Well, we’re nearing the end of 2018.  Another year in the books and another year full of events in TSTO.  As we prepare to head into 2019, we’re one again planning on doing a very special Addicts Live for the end of the year.  This will be pre-recorded, so nothing to tune in live for.  Just like we did last year, this year in review episode will feature a discussion about 2018 in TSTO.  We’ll talk about the events, share our opinions about each event & we hope to include your opinions as well!

So in preparation for that episode, I’ve prepared an Addicts Poll…a place for you to break down just the events of 2018.  This way we can keep Addicts Live interactive, despite being pre-recorded.

Last week we covered the mini-events, and now we’re breaking down the main events.

So please, take a moment to answer the poll questions below about main events in TSTO during 2018, and as always feel free to elaborate your thoughts more in the comments below.

We will share the results of this, and the mini-events poll, on the episode of Addicts live that will air either New Years Eve or New Years Day.

Thank you!

  1. Bart Royale – As mentioned by Pixiebee, good from a Mad Max / Battle Royale point of view

Springfield Jobs – Was OK. Good to get some extra villians into the game

I & S Land – Total failure due to the lag and EA’s inability to inform us of all the free land available from Krustyland and just relying on quality sites (like TSTO Addicts for example) to tell us about all the free land
As an aside, I am one of many who read the post too late to benefit!! Also everything from K/land and I & S Land is in storage as I can’t be bothered to re-build it all!

Moes Ark – Had good potential, but involved too much crafting. Then I went on holiday for most of the month (as ever, no wifi) so sadly did not complete the event. Everything from this event is also in storage

Halloween – Best event of the year for me, got it all except for Frankenstein and co, they didnt help so I didn’t buy them!

Christmas – The jury is still out on this one. But I do like how you can complete the Acts before moving on to the next one. TAKE NOTE EA – THIS IS HOW ALL EVENTS SHOULD BE FROM NOW ON!

All in all – an averge year for events, but I do think there are too many of them and they all last too long, It seems we spend more time being in a main or mini event than we have down time – it should be the other way around

  2. ♥️ Halloween 1st – because of the Dig Site. Love those + can continue to play it INDEFINITELY! Fantastic rewards with bonus %. Simply great. 1st spot for me without hesitation.

👍 Bart Royale – best of mid of the pack events. Purely because i really liked the rewards & offered premiums. Reminded me of Mad Max. Enjoyed it 🙂

👎 Itchy Scratchy Land. Could add Moe’s ark aswell… Content and rewards felt very repetitive.. although the zoo event had great potential, i really didnt like the designs. Felt too “savana-ish”, a bit too colorful to my taste, some animals didnt look real, etc. Disappointed by those 2.

  3. I did my rankings based upon items received during the event. Any event that gave out more decorations compared to anything that gave characters or anything that made money. So an event like Moe’s Ark and I&S Land was ranked low since those items are in my inventory.

  4. I didn’t choose this Christmas event as favourite, least favourite and middle since we’re still only in the first week but so far I would have it in the top 3. My favourite event (1) this year was Springfield Jobs since the content was neat. My least favourite (6) was Itchy & Scratchy Land mainly from the lags and few rides (I did like getting the land tokens from it). Middle of the road (3) was Halloween since it was an improvement but very long. Other honourable mentions for the rest are 5th is Bart Royale, 4th is Moe’s Ark and 2nd is Christmas.

  5. Wow I am also surprised that Bart Royale was this year. Can I skip the middle question so that I can vote Bart Royale worst twice? haha

  6. I like ’em all. I wish i wasn’t so easy to please.

I wish we could have bought big trees and sand for cash during Halloween. I would have bought a lot.

  7. 2018

Treehouse of Horrors/Halloween (October) – this was definitely an improvement over 2017’s non Halloween theme and I ♥️ the Premiums 👍

    So Bad It Hurts:
Itchy and Scratchy Land (June) – too many glitches, too much lag, poorly executed, most Act Prizes were “meh” (I still can’t send Characters on new Rides without making Game App halt – epic fails, EA!) 👎

    Meh Middle:
Moe’s Ark (August) – we got Sarah Wiggum finally and that’s all I can be thankful for in this Event (yeah Itchy & Scratchy & Poochy were finally obtained prior, but the lag / glitches sucked the fun out of enjoying them), and the fact it didn’t make the Game App crash was a blessing! 🤷🏼‍♂️

Enjoying Christmas 2018, so far (thanks EA!) 😀🎄

  8. Moe’s Ark and Springfield Jobs stood out to me. The others less. I liked the Egyptian stuff from Halloween a lot as well though.

  9. I absolutely LOVED building a zoo and NUKING Krusty land! Difficult to choose as I also thought THOH 2018 was great too! 😍🙀

  10. Bart Royale was this year? 2018 has felt like it’s gone on for ever!

    1. this Christmas; I’m liking the structure and the dialogue is top of the class.
    2. Moe’s Ark. Got me a zoo and a whole bunch of monkeys. Monkeys
    3. I&S Land. Pro: got Bort. Con: nuking Krustyland.

I don’t remember finishing any of the other main events so they’re all grouped together in fourth place.

  11. Thanks Alissa! My personal rating is:
    Springfield Jobs
    Moe’s Ark
    Bart royale
    I&S Land

Christmas is still going, but I think it would fit well as third position 😊

  12. I had to put Springfields Jobs last cause i played it the least

  13. Springfield Jobs was easily my favorite!
