It’s officially 10am here on the East Coast which means it’s officially time to start Act 2 (week 2) of A Simpsons Christmas Special!
Now if you remember, week 1 ended with Bart declaring it was his turn to tell a story…
Christmas Is Canceled Pt. 2

Marge: What a lovely, interesting, un-tedious story! Don’t you agree, Homer?
Homer: *banging on the TV* Work, damn you! Show me a show! I don’t care which one! Anything is better than this family sharing and caring!
Marge: Homer!
Homer: What? Oh, uh right. Loved your story, Lisa. Five stars. I laughed, I cried… I somehow got through it…
Bart: I’m afraid Dad is right, Lisa. Your story was objectively awful. Christmas may never recover.
Lisa: Like you could do better?
Bart: Naturally. Because I know the three elements of a good story: action, violence, and mild cursing. Gather round, chumps, as I spin a tale of such Christmas delight, you’ll throw Lisa out on the street and forget she ever existed.
Marge: Hmm. I hope it’s not THAT good.
And now, here’s the kick off dialogue you’ll see this morning (and a look at what’s in store for Act 2)…
Christmas is Canceled Pt. 3
Auto starts
Bart: Like all good Christmas tales, ours opens in a small town, whose citizens are about to be plunged into a nightmare of blood-soaked gore.
Marge: No gore!
Homer: Don’t censor the boy, Marge. I’m sure the gore isn’t gratuitous. I’ve never been so sure about anything.
Marge: No gore!
Bart: You really know how to hamstring an artist, Mom.
Make Bart Tell a Cliche Story- 6s
Bart: Terrorists have taken over a building downtown. The only hope? A rogue cop with a bad attitude.
Lisa: You’re just ripping off “Die Hard”.
Bart: It’s a reboot. That’s what creative people do — take an old movie, remake it, and say it’s been “reimagined for a new generation”.
Marge: My little man sounds just like J.J. Abrams!
Bart: As I was saying… how many rules does this cop play by? How does “zero” sound, friend?
So, Bart’s in charge of the story this time around…here’s the synopsis from EA on Week 2…
Bart tells the story of a pair of buddy cops, Bart and Milhouse, who must investigate a series of bank robberies while trying not to be fired by the chief of police, Ralph. Bart and Milhouse discover in questioning a witness to the original bank robbery, played by Homer, that the heists are being perpetrated by a Snowman mobster known as – Deep Freeze. They are nearly put on ice when their snowmobile explodes but are finally able to capture the criminal and make him confess that he’s not the mastermind of the operation. Following a cryptic clue, they discover that the true mastermind is none other than Santa Claus! Santa confesses that children’s wish lists have become progressively more expensive over the years, so he had to find an alternate source of revenue. Bart asks Santa if he and Milhouse can get in on a cut of the take.

Here’s the note from EA on it: “To celebrate the airing of the first Simpsons episode, Simpsons Roasting on an Open Fire, on television December 17th 1989, players who log in between December 17th 2018 and January 2nd 2019 who do not own Santa’s Little Helper will receive him for free, and all players will receive a new animated job for Santa’s Little Helper.”

Glad to see Santa’s Little Helper get a visual job. He’s been on a never-ending cycle in my snowglobe for years. Now give us a visual job for No 1
Santa’s Lil Helper is not an NPC….he has jobs,just not anything visible. I will not spend donuts on unplayable characters,either. Just so you know…& I bought him because he’s the family pet! He comes with a full set of jobs that pays out premium.
That’s why it’s mentioned he’s getting a visible task now….all of the others are inside.

Yay so happy i never bought Santa’s Little Helper! Was never ever going to pay 150 donuts for an npc. Not even the one npc with having more than any other (except of course snowball II). That’s a fun Christmas surprise. Thanks EA! Sorry to anybody who had previously bought him…
Picked up young Marge right away. Will get going Barney tomorrow after i farm enough donuts. Not sure about Don Brodka. I have no idea who he is and he doesn’t help with the event. May save for a future mystery box.
Brodka is from one of my favorite episodes ever. I got caught shoplifting in 2nd grade. Bart gets caught shoplifting by Broka at the Try N Save. The rest is a very touching tale of Bart trying to prove himself to Marge.
Honeslty makes me cry.

If I may ask…Is it possible to give an idea of how many donuts needed per act? I’m concerned I’ll spend them then there will be a special character with very limited time nearer Christmas Day.
I really try not to release that info until they’re live (or the day before they’re live). However, it’s about the same amount I indicated in this post (minus the cost of young marge) for each remaining act

It’s not just the characters, it’s the costs as well. Anything that’s not currently live in the game is subject to change by EA prior to it going live. (and they have, on many occasions, made changes to costs) So I don’t like to release that info until it’s live.
That’s for sure Don Brodka right? It looks like him…….. But it doesnt say in the info in the store…..AND he was in Marge be not proud 1st….. Sorry…just making sure before i pull the trigger….

Does anyone know if Young Marge (Gil Deal), will earn currency in last 2 weeks of the Christmas event or just this weeks currency (snowballs)?
My understanding is that the premium items will only earn currency for the week they’re released.
It does say event currency instead of snowballs. So maybe??
You know what, yes. She will help for the remaining acts. (so 2,3 and 4) Just checked the sheet from EA and she’s listed as helping to earn currency for all 3 of those acts.
That comment is literally my SIB for her – SOLD to the gentleman back there on the fence!

I have an issue and wonder if any are having the same. I completed all of week 1 jobs. However, even though I completed all tasks and got 300 programs for the last prize, I still have NOT received the final prize for week 1. I closed and reopened the app, and went to a friend’s town to see if that would get it to kick in, but no luck. I did send a report to EA, but nothing so far. Is anyone else having this problem?

Don’t care for the Carolers (might as well get that “meh” Act 2 Prize out of the way), but Bart’s DIE HARD-ish Act 2 is a pin filled treat (that Snowman theme gets funny) and we got great new Premiums (good thing I Kem Farmed for that Gil Deal!) …. definitely enough to please Tappers 🦌🎄⛄🎅😀
Will be interesting to see how Deep Freeze, The Snow Bank and the Snow Mobile will hold up after the snow is gone.
Same as Ice cave and Ice castle. They will just stay on the green field, all icy.

Ooh, I like these prizes — cool decorations, a full character, a building, and three land tokens! Young Marge would deplete the donuts in my second game, so I may instead use some for the North Pole bundle to boost my bonus % and combine with the event prizes to create a permanent Christmas/Winter area on the outskirts of that town, that I can move elements of into downtown in December each year. I havent finished the last part of lisa’s story tho, 2 more hours to go. That’s probably why..

Skinner doesn’t show up on my list of characters to play but everyone else does
I have not finished the first week yet so I’m not sure if that’s a factor but I have no skinner or Martin options for act 2 yet. I’m guessing they show up later as the diologue continues.
Skinner was an error on my part (tried to copy and paste the simpsons family and didn’t realize skinner was in that list).
Martin, it may only be Ice Princess Martin and not regular Martin…
Regular Martin is what’s on the list from EA (the info they send us directly), but in my game it defaulted to Ice Princess Martin Icon

I like this event format because I can both finish last week and start this week because it rolls over to the next act and it’s not all the same characters required. I’d love for that to become a permanent feature in events
I had Santa’s little helper in my old town, that I no longer have access to, so I am excited to get him back. Patric’s head must be ready to explode with teen homer, angle lisa, young marge, and young barney as full characters…but, it’s a game from a show where time has moved forward, but no one has aged.
And I always wondered how a mid-thirties couple (who had kids right out of high school) still have grade school kids…and Homer has a 92 year old father (if he joined at 16 and fought in World War 2). Nothing in this game makes any sense chronologically, so we just have to enjoy the wierd. 😁
