TSTO Musings About EA’s “Ghosting”…

Hey Howdy Hey Tappers!

Here we are again.  Yet another Thursday with no new update in TSTO released the previous two days.  At this point, while I don’t think this is the case, it’s hard not to feel like EA’s ghosting us.  As usual, I have some thoughts on things, so let’s get to ’em…

-First, for all the new folks to TSTO Addicts…welcome!  TSTO Addicts is an amazing Community of players from around the world who all love TSTO and The Simpsons.
I want to start things with a simple reminder (for those long time Addicts members, my apologies in advance).  We’re not EA.  We don’t work for EA.  We don’t work for FOX, Disney, Gracie Films, or anyone else associated with this game.  We just love TSTO and have since it started, so we’ve been blogging about it for the last 6 years.
I assume you’re here because you’ve enlisted the help of The Google to see what’s going on with TSTO, and I assume that you assume, because we appear pretty much at the top of the search results, that we’re part of EA.  We’re not.
So please don’t yell at us about the game.  We’re just as frustrated as you are. And we can’t do anything about it.

-I’m starting to feel like a broken record…but as of right now the game isn’t dead.  It’s still active on the servers and, aside from the lack of updates, there’s no indication that EA has opted to stop supporting it.  Also, EA had their 2019 FY Q4 earnings call yesterday, and while TSTO wasn’t mentioned by name, there was no indication that they’re eliminating the game from their catalog.  (we’ll talk more about this on Addicts Live, this Saturday)
We’ve also heard from Matt Groening, Matt Selman, and some others that the game isn’t over.  This is pretty much just a lull.  For whatever reason, reasons we don’t/won’t know unless EA decides to share them with us, we’re going through a lull right now.

– Unfortunately, no one will be happy until we hear from EA on it (and even then there are those who still won’t be happy…) Either via an update, and continuous updates, or some sort of message.
Until we do hear from EA everyone is going to speculate wildly, and all over the map, on what’s going on.  I’m hearing/seeing EVERYTHING you could possibly think of about this.  Things like:
-Disney Pulled it/they’re waiting until they get an ok from Disney to continue. (both of these theories are wildly inaccurate)
-They’re moving servers.
-They pulled developers from TSTO to work on Apex.
-They’re out of ideas.
The list goes on and on.  The reality is that unless you work on TSTO, no one knows what the hell is going on.  No one.
The “internet analysts” are letting their imaginations run wild.  They’re reading to much into one thing, and not enough into another.  It’s the nature of the beast.  Silence from EA breeds wild speculation.  So just take information with a grain of salt.

-I’m also seeing a lot of people complain that the last “real major update” in TSTO was Halloween.  Guys that’s bull hockey!  The last major event update was Valentine’s Day, the last mini-event was Classless reunion. (I’ll have you that Marge at Bat was an update, but nothing else)  Just because you didn’t like an event doesn’t mean it wasn’t an event.

-And speaking of wild speculation and people complaining about when the last update really happened…I’m seeing people speculate that Halloween was when they started to pull people out of the game because they didn’t finish it and used the recycled Dig Site.
Guys, this is EA we’re talking about.  They reuse stuff ALL THE TIME!  They’re lazy AF (yes, I really just wrote that). Why do you think Pat coined the term EALP?  Because EA comes out with new and original gameplay styles for TSTO every single update?  No, because they come up with 1 idea and recycle it 100 times until people get bored with it.
The Wheel during Christmas 2013 was recycled 1 event later for the 2014 Valentine’s Day Event.  Mystery Boxes?  Those started with Easter 2014!  And it’s all just a recycled way of using the Wheel.
Remember those little animated videos you unlocked with The Springfield Jobs last year when you collected certain prizes/crafting items? Well, that was just a replay of the 2016 Wild West Event!
The list goes on and on guys.  They come up with a new and original idea, and then they recycle it over and over.  It’s been 6 years of this, it’s amazing how a lack of updates will mess with your mind…

-Now all of this nonsense goes away if EA just says something about TSTO.  The TSTO team needs to reach out to the TSTO community, share some kind of message as to what’s going on (we know you know how to get ahold of us).  To go from a pretty regular schedule of updates (from, at least, 2015 to now) to a screeching halt is frustrating, to say the least.
While, in reality, the TSTO team doesn’t owe anyone an explanation,  after a month of no updates (and nearly 2 months of physical content updates) they should provide some kind of information.  Even in a lighthearted way through the game dialogue.  The radio silence is just infuriating customers.
The game is not over, but by allowing the nonsense to fester they’re just turning off players who’d otherwise stick around if they knew what was going on.

As a reminder, here are a couple of places you can go to share your frustration with EA, aside from our comments of course….
The TSTO Forums, there’s a post there by Willy.  Add your voice
TSTO EA Answer HQ, there’s a post there by NAT. Add your “Me Too”.
Check out this post for more ways to share your frustration.

-While it’s not an update to TSTO, I hope you guys are enjoying some of the new regular posts we’ve added to the site during the downtime, and we’ve still got a few more to roll out.  Plus a new Addicts Live on Saturday! It’s been a while, and we’ve got a lot to say! 😊
As I said last week, we’re not going anywhere.  As long as you guys keep coming here we’ll keep writing.  We enjoy what we do, and we love this community and that doesn’t go away just because the game isn’t updating.
We’ll all navigate this chaos together.

And of course…as soon as an update hits the server (or if we get an info packet from EA) we’ll share that info with you guys immediately (as long as we’re allowed to), that’s a promise!

Thoughts? Care to share your own musings? Any thoughts on regular posts you’d like us to run during downtime? Did you contact EA to tell them you’re mad as heck? Sound off below, you know we love hearing from you!

thank god 4 the mystery box staying around

  2. Gloryhornets76

The downtime has definitely been a glass half full time for me as I’ve been playing for just over 3 years, so would have missed many events previously.
The Yearbook mystery box has been fantastic for me to catch up and complete character groups, and new quest lines and animations to existing characters. Also I’m not a huge KEM farmer, I get my donuts through Maggie, the railyard, and my donut factory. So in point of fact, collecting 30 donuts each day is a mini event in itself for me.
I appreciate for those players who have donuts coming out of their ears, and have huge % bonuses, this downtime must be frustrating and disappointing. But for us newer players with a “gotta catch ’em all ” disposition, it’s been quite exciting 😁

  3. I don’t think the game is ending. Although I’m curious to know what everyone’s opinion is on how long a “lull” typically is? I started playing in 2013, stopped after about 6 months and started back in September. I never experienced their lulls before. And if EA did decide to discontinue new updates, would they announce it or just do away with updates? Like I said, I don’t think the game is ending, I’m just curious, as most of you are, about the length of this lull.

    • We are coming up on what would be considered a record by any measure. The “regular lulls” back in the early days were usually not more than a week or two, but a couple stretched to almost 4 weeks. If you don’t call “Marge at bat” an update (which nobody should), this is way more than that. Hence the mild states of panic in some players.

  4. DON’T PANIC – Doug Adams

The hullabaloo about the game reminds when I became an addict. In the beginning I was a causal player just occasionally logging in the game finding an event had started a couple days before. Sometimes I would not get the last prize or finish quest lines. Or I would find out I missed free “donuts” on a given day. I would save my donuts to get one premium item. Gil’s deals would come and go without me biting. Saving my donuts for Barney and Frink (who I thought would be important in the game). And the joy of my first Black Friday, where I might be able to get an item I wanted for cheap (even I happened to be logged in during the time it was available). I would occasionally Google when I had a problem with a task (using hitting EA forum, then a few other sites), but generally just playing in ignorance. I think I was looking for friends for my town for an event when I first upon this site. Then I came across a comment about KEM farming and I became an addict. I made sure I checked this site daily. I began to respond to questions to help, etc. Donated some money to some kids in Africa I never heard of before. And now I feel to be a member of this community.

There are many to do during this “lull”. Grind for donuts. Buy premium items. Earn more land. Design/Redesign you town. Start a new town and replay some of the quests. Read a book. Go to a movie. Watch TV. Garden. Golf. Volunteer. As long as the game is running on the servers there will be something to do. If it ends it won’t be the end of world. We take the time spent here doing something else. Maybe another game, another forum. We will miss people we interact with (like many are missing MAB). People come and go, that is life. Enjoy what you have while you have it. There is no profit in worrying about the future.

  5. I’ve been having lots of connection issues lately. Nearly every time I launch the game, I get the “cannot connect to server” message and have to try again. The problem is not on my end because the message will say the problem is on your end if that’s the case. Super annoying!

    • Yes…that seems to be part of the “new normal.” There are definitely issues with the EA servers. Hard to tell what the actual source is.

  6. The Halloween event was the last traditional big event with crafting, tapping neighbours, etc. Everything else used the mini-event format.

  7. I still check in on my town every 4 hrs if possible, if not, then whenever I can…I’m still working on the yearbook….almost finished….after that…I’ll finish getting the land…the loyal and faithful recognized the importance of The GGR when it was available…..after the yearbook, while finishing land, I’ll get what I like/liked from the vault….after that…design/ redesign. What goes on in the world can always inspire a new area for designation. What I didn’t anticipate was wanting to come HERE more often. Again…have a great day everyone!

  8. – “There’s no indication that EA has opted to stop supporting” Tapped Out? Seriously? Golden Goose? Yearbook? Screenshot feature? The dullest events in the game’s history? Marge at the Bat? More downtime in a month than usually in a year? Weeks and weeks of server problems? No communication from EA whatsoever? I respect your “glass half-full” kind of attitude, but come on…
    – Who said that this year’s Valentine’s “wasn’t an event”? I never read that anywhere. It was. Just like christmas, it was a “multi-event”, 4 mini-events glued together. Nothing more, nothing less. You will have to admit there’s a difference between such events and “real major events” (like THOH 2018) which always offered some activities apart from the same old 4h grind…
    – It’s true that EA always loved some degree of recycling their gameplay mechanics. But it’s also true that (by now) every year at least offered SOME new event mechanics (for example bonus zones or Zoo crafting in 2018). 2019? 4h grind all the way through, NOTHING else. So yeah, more than the “usual” lazy EA stuff…
    – I completely understand that, obviously being an optimist, you must be rather annoyed by all the doomsday vibes these days. But in my opinion, criticizing that kind of talk with stuff like “bull hockey”, “mess with your mind” or “nonsense” doesn’t really help the discussion…

    • First, take a chill pill, please. Second, read what I wrote. Skipping every other word diminishes what I said. Go ahead, go back and re-read what I wrote. Slowly if you have to. Soak in the words I’ve typed. Take your time. It’s ok, I’ll wait.

      ……
      ……
      ……
      ……
      ……

I trust you re-read it, slowly? Carefully? Ready to have a true conversation about the words I wrote, not the words you think I wrote?

So, I said… “I’m starting to feel like a broken record…but as of right now the game isn’t dead. It’s still active on the servers and, aside from the lack of updates, there’s no indication that EA has opted to stop supporting it.” Specifically calling out the lack of updates, however if you were to contact EA for support on the game it’s still available. And there’s no indication that that support will be pulled.

I read/see everything regarding TSTO. Part of running this site successfully means I know what others, outside of this site, are saying. I read a variety of forums, Reddit sites, etc. I’ve seen a number of folks (even here in the comments) complain we haven’t had a “real update” since Halloween. Just because you didn’t see those remarks, doesn’t mean they don’t exist.

As you’ll have noted, having re-read the post again carefully, my argument about repetitiveness in gameplay applied to those folks “theorizing” that the game was winding down at Halloween because of the dig site popping up.

And, again as you’ll now realize, my bull hockey comment was in regards to those people who are saying that the last real update was Halloween.

So I say, yet again, read what I write, slowly and carefully if you have to. It’ll save you the time of arguing with me about it and looking silly in the process.

    • Dude- The original post is remarkably even-handed and unbiased. You may want to walk away from the computer, calm down for a few minutes and then reread it. Hopefully your perspective will change.

    • HOLYFREAKINSHIRT!! Leland……..old buddy old pal… you just contradicted yourself. EA can’t give us the Golden Goose, Yearbook, Screen shot tool etc. without actual programming time and support. YES…2019 has been slow…and a bust compared to other years in TSTO. But the servers are on. The game is still playable…and just because it doesn’t meet your standard of “Great” does not mean others can’t still enjoy it.

What is mind-boggling to me, is that YOU CARE THIS MUCH. It’s a silly game. It is not life. It is meant to be a diversion…not your life. How much time have you spent arguing this point…that has NO ANSWER?? You need to back away from your keyboard. Go outside…look at the world. DO SOMETHING other than fret about whether a freemium game is able to fulfill your life’s expectations.

  9. Whatever’s going to happen will, with us unable to do anything about it. I understand all the frustrations every player feels as I have run the gambit on all of them. Not too long ago I would have felt a deep lose if the game ended but being weaned off the game by not being able to play as I would like (even with no updates) by getting the BART screen, getting booted off or by loosing game cash and donuts by the above mentioned every few mins I try to play, I’m not in a panic or have that dread of lose of the game. I’ll still check the game every now and then and do what I can before getting kicked off but I check here for information more often then I do the game. I would like to be able to RT farm to get tons of donuts but since I can’t, I won’t fret over it. I am surprised that people are saying they can still farm…I’m having no luck at all.
Many thanks to our fearless leaders in trying to keep the mobs minds from going off the rails. Listen to them, especially Alissa, she does a fantastic job and will deliver news when she knows something just as she always does.
    Many, many thanks!

  10. I won’t really be worried unless Halloween comes and goes without an update.

  11. I’m pretty sure they won’t close the game before releasing the final object for the Road to Riches events. Y’all crazy if you think the end will end without completing that part of the game.

  12. Having been in software development many years I can think of a lot of scenarios for the “silence”.

I think this period was planned. Evidence: (1) On a 12 hour cycle those with Golden Goose Realty would still be generating land tokens. (2) The introduction of the Yearbox Mystery Box that didn’t go away. The very “cheap” price of items make it tempting for non complete-its to buy every available item. [Also it might encourage IRL cash players to “catch up”] (3) For non-obsessive players (i.e grinders), the Sky Finger makes it easier to collect income. Thus making easier to generate donuts through RTT farming. Thus making (2) above easier. (And the tennis courts to up the bonus).

Why the long wait? (1) They are having software problems (zoom, connection) and are delaying the next event until those are fixed. This may be a result of a “new management” with different emphasis. For example, longer Beta tests so they don’t have to fix problems right away. (2) They are making fundamental changes to the underlying software that are taking longer then expected. For example: fixing the “item limit” problem or more land may require a major overall of the architecture that produce unforeseeable problems. Other changes might include often requested changes like 4 sides of all buildings, cars moving on streets, etc. (3) Lost of personnel requiring replacements. (4) The game has grown beyond too large. They planned “next” major event is causing problems they just haven’t figured out and have no idea when how to fix. To them “silence” is better than constantly promising a fix/event that they can’t fulfill.

    • (I’ll add that during EA’s conference call earlier this week to report FY19 Q4 earnings, they did indicate that they’re spending more time beta testing than they have in the past, to put out more stable games. I’ll have info/links to this in tomorrow’s news links post)

    • All this makes sense buy why is there at least not a hint of something to come ? Doesn’t have to be an update, just a few words would do.

      • Come on. We are a speck in the eye of the fly on the bump on the log in the hole of the bottom of the sea. EA has bigger fish to fry right now.

        • Obviously you are correct but I still say some sort of contact would be appreciated no matter how small we are !!!

          • And, I would argue that EA is giving us a message…we just don’t like the content.

            • Rusty Shackleford

Yep, and I am ok being third class. The Simpsons as a show probably only has a couple of years left, likewise, this game is past its peak—not dead—but still past its prime and EA has newer games now that are getting all of the attention.

This reminds me of when I joined a model railroad club. So many old timers would gripe and gripe about the hobby dying off instead of enjoying the hobby today. I quit that club.

So my advice to the worriers is if you still enjoy the game, then keep playing, if not, then find a new game.

              • That is pretty much a way to live life. There are some things that require you to “get over yourself and just do the work,” but something that is supposed to be recreational, isn’t one of them.

    • Whatever the reason, silence is in no way better than communicating what’s going on. Had they said “Listen up, we have a major restructuring/fixing jobs coming up, so no updates for quite some time, but we’ll be back!” I would understand and at least have something to look forward to. I guess many players would feel the same way. Instead now there are only rumors, guesses and the overall assumption that the game is dead.

      • Well said. Also their lack of communication has led to many players leaving the game. Is this what EA wants ?

  13. Tracy-1ltwoody920

The game is ending and I am dying.
Sad but true. I don’t expect to be around to
    celebrate Christmas in 2056.

    As far as reusing items,
I read somewhere that there are only 7 stories — everything else is just an adaptation.
Only 12 notes, all music uses those notes. It’s how you put them together.

In the meantime, I’m expanding land an reorganizing. And playing music.
    And living life.

    Chill.

Real worries are being told your department is being eliminated.
Real worries are being told you must retire in one week.
Real worries are being told 40% of you neck bones are missing and the doctor is amazed that your head is still attached.

Real worries are time consuming and can eat you alive.

    • Real worries give me gray hair…

      • Grey even , or is that an American spelling ?

        • In reference to the color, either is acceptable. Gray is generally an American Spelling though.

          • Fair enough

          • Just noticed…..color. Colour for us Brits. Wonder how these different spellings came about ?
Different subject but I’ll be coming over to the states in late July with my family & looking forward to the great hospitality we always recieve from you guys.

      • If that would work on me I’d worry all the time, and then buy some darker color hair dye. 😀

        • Tracy-1ltwoody920

Speaking of spelling and hair die…..
          Some of mine is die
Some is migrating to who know where
Some is relocating to areas that are / were once far less populated.

  14. The first thing I used to do every morning was jump on the game — now i check about every 3-4 days to see if anything has changed. My addiction or habit to this game is weakening. Right now if it never returns, i could care less. I have found other things to do with my time, i doubt I’m the only one that feels this way, and if it returns I’m sure many may not care about continuing.

    • Same here. I was hoping for an update today and came here to see if there was any news, but between the terrible PR from EA and the constant disconnects I think I’m done. I got a lot out of this game over the years and it was fun while it lasted but I’m not having fun anymore. I’ll continue to play here and there but once summer rolls around and I have even less time to play I’ll probably just delete it and free up some much needed space on my phone.

  15. As I have posted before, the lack of updates is surely revenue driven. All the time EA’s revenue stream holds up, where is the value in releasing an update? I think the Mystery Box and its massive content will keep the money rolling in for EA for a while longer.

    • Rusty Shackleford

Agreed. It was a way to buy time and that’s ok. I’m having a great time working some of the old quest lines that I missed in the past.

I have to give EA credit, the writing on some of the quests has been great, really funny stuff.

So as long as I still have items I want in the yearbook, I am good.

  16. Everyone: “is the game ending?”
    EA: no.

    There was that so complicated?

  17. Excellent post, Alissa.

  18. Think_Skrink

EA may not have mentioned it on the earnings call but TSTO is included on the accompanying slide deck as a Q419 active mobile property:

This does not mean anything beyond the fact that TSTO was included in the EA results for Q419 but at least it’s a mention and someone took the time to pull an image file and stick it in a Powerpoint presentation!

  19. Thanks Alissa,
    In truth…there is hope.
This game made us smile a lot of times and I really do believe there is more smiles to come.
    : )

  20. It’s too difficult for @EA / @EAHelp to say anything , so by all means feel free to heckle them on Twitter (I do daily with “chirping crickets” memes – and EA deserves that! 😂 ) because the power of a tweet stays online forever vs whatever you post in the Forum can be deleted at any time!

Again, I have zero expectations from EA ! I’m glad I can still Farm 🍩’s , glad I can still get something from the Vault (and Mystery Box), glad I can generate Land Tokens (lol at whoever thought we were getting a Springfield Heights land expansion! 😂 ) and not glad when I get a Bart Screen of Death (like Patric says, “don’t spend any real money in this Game App”!)

So it’s been roughly 3 months since the last Event , 2 months since a Baseless Mini Event (followed by a Baseless rehashed Event that offered little new content for long-time Tappers – come on don’t sugar coat the truth! There was more effort put into that awesome banner up top by TSTO Addicts then there was by EA in TSTO! 😂 )

I’m just enjoying the Game App while it lasts! Remember when EA yanked all of their Facebook Game Apps with minimal warning? They can do the same thing with their mobile Game Apps (they don’t have to care about anything except saying profitable!) I have zero predictions at this point beyond enjoy it while you can! Enjoy the wit and wisdom of TSTO Addicts (you will have an easier time navigating WordPress then you will EA’s Official Forum (good grief what a cluster something something!) 🤷🏼‍♂️

  21. Wasn’t the wheel also used for the Easter 2014 event as well? I specifically remember not getting much of the content from that event.

  22. Clare Holland

I’m also getting to the point of being a little scared by the lack of communication… Jeese I just wish they’d just say one way or another.. if it’s over then stop torturing us, man up and say…Yes it would be absolutely awful, but at least we’d know.. like many people have said, by them not communicating, players are leaving assuming the worst, and I guess I find it pretty crappy (putting it mildly 😔) of them to not put out any kind of statement at all.. We deserve some explanation but we will find out soon enough hopefully.. good or bad.. meanwhile I’ll keep tapping away until I can’t tap no more. 😒 Thanks for your input as always guys.. 🤗

  23. “It’s over, it’s all over”…sad, but true I feel. 😢

    • I mean you can’t say it’s true because you don’t know until you know…

      • I mean you can’t say “The game is not ending” because you don’t know until you know…
See, works in both directions 😉

        • Ahhhhh….I love that kind of reverse logic. “I am not going to smack you along side of the head…until I do.” LOL!

But, yes…logic and common sense would tell us that all things come to an end…we just don’t know when, until we do

        • Yes, but the game is still live on the server ergo it’s not over…

As the original OP said “It’s over, it’s all over”…not “it’s ending, it’s all ending”

          • Right, the OP said “over” (which it objectively isn’t. But in your text you specifically said “The game is not ending”, which is just as right or just as wrong as saying “The game is ending”, without any further information…

            • Come on…have we really devolved into this? Being right isn’t the end all to anything Leland. Arguing semantics is a pretty useless waste of time…no matter what the topic.

            • Where did I say that? My post says…

I’m starting to feel like a broken record…but as of right now the game isn’t dead.

              • LelandGaunt

Great, now you edited the line. Well thanks for talking…

              • Edited what line? I haven’t touched anything. Well, I edited a comment when I hit send too quickly, but beyond that, I haven’t touched anything.

  24. eric1755eric

I cringe at the characterization that EA is lazy.

There is a real cost to creating and operating the game that I have enjoyed for less than $10 in purchases. With so many people grinding donuts, I don’t see them making money off this game. Maybe they do, I don’t see it. I suspect it’s a ‘loss leader’.

Disney of course will want to review every aspect of a business and evaluate the financial effectiveness of each strategy. It would not shock me if a review caused a development delay but that’s all speculation. Nonetheless I’ll speculate.

Lately I’ve had many login failures. In a down period, that shouldn’t happen – no? I wonder if they are making bigger changes to the game that have required existing development staff to refactor and redesign the platform. This might explain the recent bugs. Greater monetization? Only EA knows.

Certainly, the latest updates don’t look development intensive and that kind of update could likely continue for quite a while with minimal cost.

On the other hand, if you were running the game and were told to stop development due to costs would you tell the users so they can abandon the ship en masse or ghost them?

Only EA knows and we just have to wait it out.

Thanks EA, thanks TSTO and thanks Alissa and Pat.

    • GET OFF THE DISNEY TRAIN. Please! EA does not equal Disney. It’s a licensing contract. Just like Universal Studios Licensed Simpsons for the Simpsons section in their theme parks. Do you think Disney is going through Universal Studios saying “well, how many Duff Beers did you sell today? If you didn’t sell enough we’re going to cut off your deal” Come on. This deal costs Disney NOTHING. They don’t spend a dime on TSTO. All they do is make money from it. EA handles 100% of the financial aspect of it. Disney just collects a check. Disney operating cost for TSTO is $0. Disney operating cost for Universal Studios is $0. Not to mention Disney no longer makes video games. They’re more likely to end the deal with universal and bring Simpsons to their existing theme parks than they are to pull a Mobile Game off when they have no infrastructure to do anything with it themselves. (PLUS Disney also owns Family Guy now, which has a Mobile GAme (in TQFS) that’s still getting updates.)

Lazy maybe not the true characterization, I could just say they use a lot of recycled ideas. But that’s kind of like saying surveillance is spying. They both mean the same thing, just one is nicer than the other…

Not that it matters much as Disney aren’t involved, but if by some weird convoluted contract they were i doubt they’d bring Tapped Out to an end when they are at this moment looking to move further into the mobile game genre. They’ve signed up with Jam City to extend their reach and bring more Disney & Pixar games to the mobile format. And there’s a part of me sitting here with a mischievous glint in my eye imagining the outcry if Disney were involved and the deal with EA did end and they handed the keys of Springfield to TinyCo via Jam City. Of course that’s just my evil genius imagination having some fun, but I’d kind enjoy seeing just how that would play out. Sorry Alissa, I just gave you another grey hair or a hundred.

  25. At first, I was nervous about what’s going on – a statement from EA would have been great to clarify. Lately though I find myself losing interest in the game more and more. I am seriously thinking about quitting for the first time in … well, ever really. As a long-time player (since 2013), there’s just not enough to entertain me anymore with the game pretty much in standstill mode.

  26. I can certainly see people leaving the game out of spite at this point…I’m not one of them. I’m content knowing this site will provide me with whatever information is available as soon as it is available….so kudos to the addicts. Have a great day people!!

  27. I’m really trying to stay optimistic but what are they thinking?
I agree with Patrics analysis that they gave us everything we need to farm donuts effectively, added more land and land tiles and brought back loads of content with the yearbook.
So to me this can be one of two things: either they wanna keep players happy as long as possible without adding any more future content and thus ending the game or they just knew a longer stretch without updates was coming.
This was obviously planned as every of the weird updates introduced a specific feature.
I’m still hoping for the game to come back but right now I’m less and less optimistic.
Some comment by EA would go a long way to restore hope.

  28. Gracias, sois los mejores!!!
Espero que el juego se active pronto y metan a Eduardo Barcelona, Bashir Bin Laden, Carol Berrera y Hubert Wong 👍🙂

Really. How hard would it be for EA to just type a couple of lines giving us a heads up as to what is owing on? I’m not asking for a 20 page report on the state of EA.
