App Store Update: New Year 2019

Hey Howdy Hey Tappers!

So an app store update hit our stores a little while ago (if you don’t see it try searching for Tapped Out in your App Store).  At the moment this update just removes the snow from Springfield and returns our games back to pre-Christmas update.  (holy smokes, it’s so green!)

There is a Mini Event Tied to this update.  However that mini event will NOT START UNTIL TOMORROW, WEDNESDAY JAN 9th, AT 10AM ET (1500 GMT).  So PLEASE don’t ask me where it is.  It will not start until tomorrow at 10am ET (1500GMT).

So I can tell you this update will bring two requested characters to Springfield (one old and one young…), a bunch of buildings (including one, that will cost a lot of donuts, that will solve some land token problems), and a few decorations.  Also, with this update, you’ll see a TON of returning Stonecutters stuff.  So if you’ve been in the market for it, it’s back just for you!

And for those of you curious about the new characters…turn to your character collections to find them.  Still can’t find them, here they are:

An that’s it my friends, nothing to do but sit back and wait until tomorrow morning, 10am ET (1500 GMT) for the new content to hit!  Until then…enjoy your night!

Thoughts on the new content?  Excited for something to hit Springfield?  Sound off below, you know we love hearing from you!

Moe’s Ark Removal Update Available

Hey Howdy Hey Tappers!

Officially back from my maternity leave from the site…a few hours early, but that’s ok.  Hopefully y’all didn’t give Patric too hard of a time.  I know he did a great job filling in for me, and I know it wasn’t easy.  Especially since I’m crazy OCD about how things are done around here lol.

Anyway…popping in a few hours early to let you know the Moe’s Ark Removal update has hit the stores. Here’s a look at the update description…

Personally, I’m hoping that census comment means that Townhall will finally be easy to search feature…

Downloading this will prep your game for a mini update that’s slated to hit tomorrow. You can download it now (it won’t impact the Moe’s Ark prize track or update content) or you can wait until tomorrow to download it.  However, you will need to download it to start the next update…

And remember, when the timer runs down on Moe’s Ark the event will be over.  You won’t be able to earn the prizes you missed out on for free.  So use all the time you have left if you’re still behind on the prize track.

Anywho, I’ll be back tomorrow once the mini event hits (as far as content, let’s just say it’ll be something Superand in my opinion something super bad and overplayed…) so for now enjoy your night and the calm before the storm….

From the Mouths of Addicts: More Event Ideas

Hey Howdy Hey Tappers!

Welcome to another edition of From the Mouths of Addicts, where YOU get to sound off on anything and everything in the world of Tapped Out!  We’ve got a post from longtime Addict, Happy Tapper!

Happy Tapper used the downtime with the latest mini-event to focus on what we could see for the next major event.  And even give EA an idea or two about what to put out in the future.

Enjoy it my friends!  Here’s Happy Tapper… -Alissa

Hello, fellow tappers!

You may remember me from such posts as “Future TSTO Events” and “The Main Event Contest” or the annoying optimistic guy in the comments.

If I have got EAs attention and haven’t got it for much longer, I would like to quickly say …

I would love to see more interaction in the game, some more ways to make the game live up to its “strategy” title: more neighbour interaction in events, easter eggs to earn a donut or two, little clues/riddles to get to a prize, a Choose your Own Adventure type update where there are multiple routes to the dialogue.

I would just like to see some more experimenting with making events more than just popping into my town every 4 hours, tappa tappa tappa and then leaving.

The Simpsons is still full of content, from the classic to the modern, so in this post I wanted to break down some ideas that I’ve enjoyed designing, including possible content, a questline idea and maybe a way for it to break the 3 act formula. I hope you enjoy … Continue reading

Where Did That Come From? – Meathook, Poppa Wheelie, Hooch City and More…

As with most TSTO events these days, this event is kind of an amalgam of several different Simpsons Episodes, pulled together with a loose storyline, to make the TSTO make sense…mostly.

In this case, there are two primary episodes from which most of the content is being pulled, one obvious…and one not so obvious. But both, with the same over-arching theme…boozing and running wild.

Now, I’ve certainly had more than my share of carousing in my life…mostly revolving around Rugby, being in a band, and just being a kid who liked to party.  But, I admit, I was never one to fall prey to the ritualistic partying that goes with St. Patrick’s Day, or the general mayhem that seems to be part of being in a gang. Although it could be argued that Rugby teams have a sort of “gang mentality” to them from an onlooker’s point of view. But, I assure you…rugby teams are nothing like Motorcycle gangs. To begin with, we don’t have motorcycles. But, the rest…well…there are some similarities in our group think-group drink mentality.

And, in this particular episode of the Simpsons…Drinking, Carousing, Rough-Housing, and absconding another man’s woman, are all points that could certainly draw similarities.

Let’s take a look at where HALF of the TSTO stuff comes from in this update!

New Teaser for Homergeddon is Live

Hey Howdy Hey Tappers!

A teaser update (likely for next event)  has hit our games this evening.  Kicks off with placing 50 year supply of Ice cream and an 8hr task for Homer.

This is IN GAME nothing to download from the app store. So don’t look there… nothing will show up in the app store. Just start up TSTO and the update should auto download for you. If not hard close TSTO and/or restart your device.   Again it’s IN GAME…NOT APP STORE.

I’m going to cover the ins and outs for the teaser update in the first post of the day tomorrow morning (roughly 12hrs from now). Since the first task is 8hrs it gives you guys the evening to send Homer and then more details will be up tomorrow when you wake up.

Use this post to discuss the teaser update….we’ll have another (off update topic) post up from Pat shortly.

Somehow, between writing loads of posts for FWOT Addicts and FGA Addicts, RT found the time to knock out yet ANOTHER a fun guest post for TSTO!  (such an overachiever!)  This time, fitting in with another hot topic from earlier this week, she’s tackling the Nuclear Option!

Enjoy it my friends!  Here’s Russian Tigger… -Alissa

So a few days ago I started to get twitchy and considered nuking my Springfield… again. I thought long and hard, but then remembered the last time I went nuclear it was almost 6 months before I saw my beloved Stewart Duck wandering my now radioactive empty streets. Yup, my favorite thing in the whole game disappeared in a puff of atomic ash and I was left suffering radioactive shock and vowed that I’d never go nuclear again. Continue reading
