UPDATED with some new information…10/22/19
Hey Howdy Hey Tappers!
So EA gave us a little treat…we received the NDA packet EARLY!
While we’re still under the NDA I can confirm a few things…
“Isn’t it sad when Halloween ends and all you have to show for it is a bucket of candy? Well, fear not! The new Treehouse of Horrors update for Tapped Out starts this Wednesday and will scare you deep into November!”
(This was the quote sent to us from EA in the email, however there’s now a different version posted on Twitter (with the Splash Screen). The different version changes “this Wednesday” to “this Tuesday”. No idea what they’re getting at. If they’re pushing it a day sooner, if it’s just the update hitting the app store, or if they just got the date wrong. So we’ll all see what happens together…)

1) Halloween is coming! And it’s not a mini-event.
2) THOH will launch, as expected, on October 23rd…Wednesday. Likely the App Store will receive the update tomorrow (October 22nd), and the event itself will launch on Wednesday.
3) THOH 2019 will be, a multi-event. Lasting 4 full weeks…starting October 23rd and running until November 19th.
4) Looks like Kodos and Kang play a role in the storyline
5) It looks like a ton of new characters and buildings with this one. I count 6 total characters (4 new, 2 returning).
6) New premium content. You’ll want to save 600 donuts for new content. New information appeared in the event files that was not in the info packet sent from EA. In addition to the 600 donuts for new THOH event content, you’ll need about another 800 donuts for additional items not directly related to THOH. So if you’d like all NEW content for this event you’ll need 1400 donuts…
7) There will be Mystery Boxes…
8) No I don’t see the GGR returning.
9) The usual suspects for character tasks…Homer, Lisa, Bart, Marge…
10) Matt Selman’s tweet is from the actual splash screen….

My only problem with this is that I’ve seen “the update is “10/22/19” that’s today not Wednesday so is it today or 10/23/19 Wednesday’s date. How is an update that is set for 10/22/19 coming out on the 23rd? Makes no sense
So..the way it’s worked in recent TSTO history with app store updates (which this will be), is the update is released to the app store on Tuesday (usually late afternoon/evening Eastern US time) and the event itself has a timer for the actual launch time in it. That time is set for Wednesday morning at 10am Eastern US time.
So the update will be available to download in the app store on Tuesday. This will put the event on your device, change the splash screen…BUT the event itself will not start until Wednesday at 10am. That’s typically how it works.

So glad THOH XXX is actually happening, and excited to hear there is a lot of content, too! Looking forward to hopefully grabbing a few items I’m missing, if they happen to be in the M-boxes.
Bit disappointed there are no mini games, crafting or, most importantly, neighbour actions. I’m really hoping that for Christmas we get some cool actions for neighbours…

I kinda suspected this would be a multi-event. This completes a full year of multi-events. We’ll have to see what happens at Christmas.
But I get EA’s situation. No matter what they do/change people complain.

Bring it on. Was able to harvest my account up to 2002 bonuts. Out of boredom bought some Yearbook stuff so it could have been more. Curious what we all can add over the next few weeks.
Just cashed in my last land-tile and now have a handful of watertiles to go. So I will keep those open to harvest tiles for the one moment Spr Heights will be opened up. 2024 I guess.
Well, woke up at 6 am Central time on 10/22 and nothing. I’ve had this game since almost day 1. I don’t want to see it end. But the writing is on the wall.

And if you’ve been playing this game since almost day 1 you would know that app store updates for TSTO don’t hit at 6am Central, Eastern, Pacific, or Guam time…

Yay! I dont have 600 donuts but I’m guessing that will be 150 donuts per week, right? I only have 450 donuts so I have time to get the last 150. I really hope there are land tokens.

Urgh, yet another multi-event. HAAAAAAAAATTTTEEEEEE them! I want to craft, I want to interact with neighbors, I wanna have a challenge! This is not a game anymore, it’s just a way of making time pass by…
Agree with you but don’t you dare being disrespectful with the game or EA in here, or you’ll be banned: owners of the sites already criticized everyone criticizing the new format of the events (they have to, they’re on EA payroll). Basically, enjoy the game as it is because that’s the way it is and kneel to EA that’s always right.

I had a daily challenge to send Springfielders to a Krusty Burger and it got stuck, so for the past few weeks, I’ve been able to earn doughnuts by the hundreds. I’m guessing I’ll have to finally store the Krusty Burger to break the loop and free the characters I’ll need for this event, but at least I’ll plenty of doughnuts to spend freely.
Looking forward to new content. Kind of wish that it wasn’t a multi event. Kind of a boring concept, but I’m not complaining. Looking forward to the event.
I kinda hope Seerac the Preparer is a character we can get this go-around. I don’t know why; I just always liked him crying in the first THOH after Lisa found the cookbook (something like, “I slaved over a hot stove for you humans!”) and Kang saying, “Congratulations, if your goal was to make Seerac ths Preparer cry, mission accomplished!” Well, we shall see…..

I refuse to donut farm so they are more of a commodity for me. I always try to be ready for Halloween, Christmas is only a few weeks after so that’s a harder event to have donuts for. I try to choose premium items wisely.
Same. I too don’t donut farm. I have a hundred fifty something hard earned donuts saved up. Hoping for a good but affordable Halloween mystery box.

Well I’ve got 500 million in cash and 22K in donuts (mostly through farming) and not much to spend on since I have all the land, most of the characters minus a few NPC ones. Wish they would open the land of or Springfield heights & bring back the road to riches so I could get rid of some currency.
Awesome, two Halloween rounds this year! First round, the Lovecraft Special, Cthulhu and M’nthster, that was fun, (even if M’nthster hanging out on top of his temple is no longer a thing, that was my favorite Halloween decoration!) we were able to add two Elder Gods to our towns!
I’m looking forward to round two, the full Halloween event! YAYYYYY!

Also if you don’t mind… What did you mean when you said ” you don’t see the Golden Goose Realty returning “? Like if you have all the land tiles then that’s it no more new tiles anymore you’ve hit the max number that is given like the Springfield Heights? Or like the building is no longer going to give land tiles every 12 hours, so get what you can before it stops, even if you haven’t collected all the spaces? Thanks.

I would also like to know more about ‘donut farming’…😯 Any tips out there?
There’s an article by Safi about farming kwikemarts, or KEMs. Purchase a bunch of KEMs, wait 4 hours, bring them to life, and then sell them. Rinse and repeat. It works better if you have your XP multiplier turned on. You’ll see your XP meter do wonderful things when you max it out. A chance for 1,2, or 3 donuts.
