It’s that time of the week again, time for the Addicts Weekly Open Thread! So, let’s get the conversation going! Oh and remember…just because this is posted here today doesn’t mean you can’t comment on it all week long. This open thread will still be open for comments long after today is over!
Here’s where you can talk about anything you want to talk about…TSTO Related, Simpson’s Related or ANYTHING. Just no Add me requests…those should go here. We’ll give you a few suggestions (like most Sunday’s you can talk about the current episode of the Simpsons) but for the most part, you’re free to talk about ANYTHING your little Tapping Fingers desire…just keep it PG.

I have *noticed* that when characters are sent to collect items for an event and you send more characters than needed, surplus items don’t add up towards the next prize 🙁 There is a way around it only if the characters are in different buildings, like last week. It makes me feel disappointed every time to lose hours of “lost” cash and items. Oh well!
There’s actually another way around, but it takes paying a bit more attention to the game to pull it off…. Just send as many characters on the task as you need to complete it, then wait five or ten minutes to send the rest of them on task. Then, make sure you collect the first group before the second group is done!
I do notice, though, that most of the time lately EA has been using multiple buildings, which certainly makes it easier not to lose out, and they’ve made the goals pretty easily achievable…WAY easier than it used to be!
Hi All, this may be a silly question, but is there a list of all the characters that sit on benches? I’m trying to get a group therapy session with Dr. Marvin Monroe. I’ve tried looking under various key words and I’m not finding what I’m looking for. It may just be too annoying for anyone to gather this type of info, but I still thought I would ask. Thanks!
Hi. I feel like I’m kind of losing interest in this game. Never was that big of a Simpsons fan. Have watched it but not consistently.
Also my game has the bug where I can’t click on the portrait in the corner. Didn’t bother getting it fixed. Oh well I guess ignoring Gil is a bonus. But it’s a problem if I don’t know who that is.
Also why bring back “capture Sideshow Bob ” when he’s already a character? Once I had to capture him when the “real” one was next to him.
Anyway I was hoping for a feature where you can just assign a character to do something “forever “. Like having Cookie Kwan constantly advertise Springfield Heights.

Can anyone tell me if the aspirational buildings (Sit ‘N Rotate, Escalator to Nowhere, etc.) are all storable? I’m maxed out on in-game cash, and while they would be fun to have, I’m not sure I’d want them permanently in my town. I have the Sunsphere building now (3-day build), and at this point it doesn’t give me the option to store it, although I could sell it.

No new Episode of The Simpsons tonight (the last Episode broadcasted – Panic on the Streets of Springfield – has an expanded version on Hulu / Disney+ worth rewatching). We are down to the last 3 Episodes of Season 32, there’s still plenty of Guest Stars, I look forward to watching them. 😀
Sunday = continuing to Spring Clean – the Mrs is right by encouraging to stay focused until all is completed (nothing will stop your motivation to accomplish things when Spring ends and Summer starts). I hope all have gotten vaccinated, are staying safe, and hopefully living somewhere that is ‘opening up’ with less restrictions. 🤔

I finally replaced my Kindle with a tablet that runs TSTO. Now I just need a server that lets me play it for more than the count of one !!
I also need to stop mucking about and get on with Act 2 in my main town now I’m not using my phone for B town neighbour visits and the like that were making the Kindle crash.
Oddly my phone loads the game faster and runs smoother than the supposedly better tablet, if only I could read the screen and didn’t have to worry about being interrupted by calls !!
When my brain is working a little faster and smoother too it’s time to make a note of all the yearbook items that I have in the B town mystery box and think about going finding them. Maybe tomorrow 😊

Unbranded. Listed as 1.6GHz 8 core and 6GB ram, same as my phone, but Settings have it as 2GHz 10 core and 8GB ?!?
Works out somewhere around $125, not a bad deal.
There’s 124GB of free storage for the odd screenshot or town portrait too !! 😊
I’ve pushed my town to around 13,800 items and it’s coped, over 6,600 bargain burning bushes to store soon, and it isn’t going from the friends map straight to my homescreen when I try neighbour visits 😊

I am debating over Cyborg Willie and Killy the Tractor (it’s kind of the only thing that interests me in Act 3) 🤔

For a Gil Deal 150 donuts is a great buy. Full character, but it doesn’t help with the event. Killy is animated when tapped…otherwise looks like willie’s tractor…and earns a bonus %. I’ve seen worse for more donuts…
I finally did the Gil Deal (no regrets, this Cyborg Willie Character and Killy the Tractor are very funny!) 💜 the Questline! 👍🏻

Despite Alissa’s helpful reminder yesterday, I forgot about it this morning and sent all my characters on tasks. (This 11am start time is a pain!) Guess I’ll wait until the 4-hour tasks I sent some of my main chatters on are done, then I’ll rush the ones who are on 8-hour tasks (since I have more donuts than I know what to do with anyway). Thanks for the re-reminder! 😀
Got my second vaccine on Friday evening (yay!)….felt pretty crummy yesterday and still seem to be a but extra tired and achy today, but it’s SO worth it! Two weeks until “freedom” day!
Been attending my favorite folk festival online this weekend (NEFFA)….I miss hanging out in person in the environment of that festival (which feels very utopian), but loving how easy it is to attend from home and it’s so much cheaper this way. (The concert itself is free, although donations, for much less than the cost of the in-person festival, are requested and I’ll be doing that, and I don’t have to pay for a hotel and all the meals out.) Also, the concert being online makes it easy for my parents to attend, too….they live 200 miles away and, because of Covid-19, I haven’t seen them since January 2020, but we’ve attended some of the same festival sessions and been able to use private chat on Zoom to make it feel like we’re sitting together at it. Hopefully you will have no lingering effects from the vaccinations (Nevada has one 18 year old who went into the hospital for receiving the Johnson & Johnson due to the fact it was causing her to blood clot).
With so many different variants of Covid-19? I think this is going to become the yearly flu shot (hopefully our antibodies are building up enough of a resistance so that we won’t feel so fatigued each time we get vaccinated).
Nevada is preparing to open up 80% on May 1st, if all goes well from there we will be at 100% by June 1st (I am optimistic but cautious, it’s been nice to experience things online …. but I can’t wait to go out with the Mrs and do things outside the home and not feel like we are going to bring the plague home with us).
CJBLV – It wasn’t too bad….about 50 hours of side effects with the first full day (I got my shot at 5:30 on Friday evening, so I’m talking about Saturday being the worst. But even that was just a headache, site arm, low-fat fever, body aches, and feeling very tired and sleepy. By Sunday, the headache was gone and still of the remaining symptoms (except the tiredness/sleepiness) had lessened significantly. By 7:30 on Sunday, the tiredness and sleepiness had lifted, too. All in all, a very worthwhile trade!
So only pro-vaccine posts are allowed here?
As always, no matter which side I fall on, I’m just trying to avoid controversy. I’m trying my best to prevent this site from turning into Facebook.
I did delete several of Sandra’s rebuttals to your original post as well. In this particular post, Sandra is just talking about the side effects she experienced from the shot. It’s not pro or con, it’s just discussing her experience. If you want to say I choose not to get the vaccine go for it. I’m a firm believer in everyone should do what he or she thinks is best for themselves, in many situations…not just when it comes to the vaccine. It’s when we start to have the tit-for-tat arguments that we veer off the purpose of this site and become Facebook. That’s all.
Personally, I don’t believe people should be attacked for not getting the vaccine. But I also don’t think people should be attacked for getting the vaccine. It’s a personal decision, and everyone has to do what they think is right for them. 🙂
