In the USA it is Memorial Day. A day when Americans remember those who fought for our country and freedom that are no longer with us. A time to mourn the loss of those no longer with us, but to also appreciate all that they have done for us to protect our freedoms.
Take the time and enjoy the day my friends, but please remember why you get to enjoy the extra time in the first place.
Here at Addicts we’re taking the day. Mostly, I’m taking the day. Going to sit outside and watch my kids run through the sprinklers and play. Hopefully the weather cooperates, because it’s been awful the last couple of days.
To all our readers who have or continue to serve in our US Armed Forces (and Armed Forces around the world), thank you.

Welcome to Addicts Live! We hope you enjoy this week’s episode, as much as we enjoyed putting it together…
The Addicts Crew is back again with an all-new, episode of Addicts Live! Join Alissa and Safi as we wrap up the conversation about the Foodie Fight mini-event. We share our highs and lows about the event, what surprised us (**cough** rocket pigs **cough**), what we’d like to see more of, and we share our letter grades for the event. Plus we share YOUR thoughts about the event! You don’t want to miss it, so join us for the fun!
So in 5 weeks, we will launch the seventh Bracket Battle. Following Sunday’s season 32 finale, it’s a Bracket Battle of the 32 seasons of our favourite family, where 31 head-to-head matchups will determine once and for all, which has been the best season.
To go along with the Bracket Battle, we will also be launching a Pick’em contest in 4 weeks on June 25. But to help refresh your memory before you have to make your picks, we will recap all 32 seasons over the next four weeks.
Who’s hungry?! In the mood for a Sweet and Sour Lasagna Burrito from General Chang’s?! Well, then Foodie Fight is the mini-event for you!
Remember, this event is designed to follow a series of tasks via the questline to unlock prizes. For each of the parts of the Flop Chef questline, you’ll have to earn via various character tasks in order to unlock the prize for that part.
So let’s take a look at the final prize for this mini-event…Scotty Boom…
It’s that time…calling all Addict Designers! We’re getting ready to do the next Springfield Showoff, and this time around I want to see what you’ve done with the Foodie Fight mini-event stuff! With new and old buildings and decorations arriving with this event, show me how you fit them into your Springfield! So prep those towns…because we want to see what you’ve done with your Springfield!
As always please remember to limit it to 1-2 of your favorite areas/photos…we can’t show your whole town unless you want to send in your entire town via town portrait.
So use this time to polish up your town and show us how creative you can be! Send in your Foodie-inspired designs (by 8 pm ET Tuesday, June 1st) and we’ll be putting up the Showoff post featuring your designs on Wednesday, June 2nd.
Remember, your designs can be anything and everything from the Foodie Fight mini-event, new and old, and how you worked it into your Springfield
So grab some screenshots of your town, or finish up those designs…just make sure to send your submissions in by about 8 pm ET Tuesday, June 1st, can’t wait to see what YOU have come up with.
You can send your designs in two ways…either post a link to the image in the comments on this post or you can email them to us at TSTOAddictsblog@gmail.com. We won’t be pulling images from anywhere else, so please if you want to be featured either submit in the comments below or email your images to us.
Note: PLEASE try to limit your submissions to only 1-2 of your favorite screenshots. We like to try and let everyone showoff their town but it becomes difficult when some of you are sending in 7-10 images. Pick your favorite areas and send them in (or if you stitch photos together, that works too). We’ll try our best to get EVERYONE in, but please understand that sometimes we miss a photo or two. If we miss you one week, we’ll try really hard to make sure we get you in the next week. You’re always welcome to showoff your town, at any time, on our Flickr page. We know a lot of you have awesome towns that you want to show off, but please try to stick with this week’s theme. Remember, this isn’t a contest. There’s nothing to win. It’s just a fun way to showoff your town and get some design inspiration from your fellow Addicts. 🙂

Update: It does look like they released an update extending the event by 1 week. So you have until June 9th to complete it now. This really just eliminates that off week we usually have between events, assuming EA stays on their “schedule” and releases the next event on the 9th.
However, while the update came out that extended the event, I don’t see anything that addressed the verification code. You still need one to log into your town (if you log out).
If you’re one of those folks that no longer have access to the email you use for TSTO, contact EA. They should be able to change your email address for you. (Use an email account like Gmail, that’s been proven to work for the code)
If you’re someone who has access to your email, and you’re just having issues with the code system…remember it works best if you have 2 devices. Either another phone or a computer where you can log into your email. Keep TSTO open after you request the code, and don’t move away from the screen where it says to enter the code…once you do that you’ll need to get a new code.
Remember, this is a giant pain in the butt…but it’s still entirely workable for your game. And the vast majority of players…the ones who don’t log out…have zero impact from this.
Now I don’t see anything official about an extension of playtime in the game or in the files, as of yet. So I do suggest continuing the play the mini-event as if it’s still going to end next Wednesday until we see something change in-game or in the files. (and of course, I’ll post if/when we do).
But it does appear that the login issues are unintentional, and EA is working to correct the problem so players can get back into TSTO.
Also, shoutout to justinmwat151 for bringing this to my attention…
If we find out any more info like if a fix has been released or if the dates have officially been extended, I’ll update y’all.
