It’s that time of the week again, time for the Addicts Weekly Open Thread! So, let’s get the conversation going! Oh and remember…just because this is posted here today doesn’t mean you can’t comment on it all week long. This open thread will still be open for comments long after today is over!
Here’s where you can talk about anything you want to talk about…TSTO Related, Simpson’s Related or ANYTHING. Just no Add me requests…those should go here. We’ll give you a few suggestions (like most Sunday’s you can talk about the current episode of the Simpsons or current Tapped Out event) but for the most part, you’re free to talk about ANYTHING your little Tapping Fingers desire…just keep it PG.

Pretty sure someone else asked that question, but here’s mine:
Is it better to wait for the year-end sales, or just buy the new characters & items whenever a new event begins?
I acquired CosMo and Lard Lad Donut Factory at last year’s sale and been using the donuts to buy new characters at each event. But with the high cost of donuts at each contest, is it better to wait at the end of the year to get those same items at a lesser cost or no? I would assume it’s the wiser choice but my memory is a bit buzzy of what I saw 6 months ago; I’m lucky to even remember what I did last week.
So let me know if my recollection is correct, and possibly suggestions with spending donuts more efficiently; thanks!
As I understand it you’re not Donut Rich and can’t get ’em easily / have to pay for ’em.
There’s usually a whole heap of cheaper stuff in Mystery Boxes during whatever mini-event pops up around Black Friday, but no-one knows what might be in those until they drop and you might end up with things you’re less interested in versus stuff you’d really like.
There is also the Yearbook Mystery Box – 700 odd items for 30 Ds each – link on all these posts but again it’s a 1 in 5 if you flick through and find something you want.
Building bonus is key to earning sprinkles easier. Everyone is different but my plan has been to spend sprinkles on bonus and when it starts to get easy to get lots of Donuts I’ll think about the other stuff.

That needs to go on Boardwalk but I almost put River Tiles !!
The abandoned warehouse can also be placed on a patch of dirt

Personally off the top of my head the only character I’m waiting for to be added to the game is marge’s dad. In other news yesterday I went to a film and sci-fi museum and in the gift shop they had a few simpsons figurines so I picked up blue haired lawyer and a young Dr Hibbert with his afro haircut.

I’ve enjoyed this update so far even more than I thought I would. I love dialogue that breaks the 4th wall. I was tickled at the idea that all the characters get excited whenever Skyfinger drops a new building. Amused that characters owed 10 years of past dues for a club just brought back into existence. Charmed at the splash screens and Dr. Hibbert’s golfing attire. Delighted we have a new decoration to bring interest to largely ignored river tiles.
Disappointed I didn’t get a ball and flag decoration to complete my World’s Largest mini golf course. *sigh But enjoying this nonetheless.
Question: is the Springfield Glen Country Club related to Springfield Glenne Towne Center? Is Springfield Glenne in Springfield Heights, if not, where is it?
A lot of shops I have on my SF Heights promenade I just found out are actually in the Towne Center. Doubt I’m doing a big design overhaul, but I am curious. Might need to go binge watch some Simpson’s episodes. Thanks for your help fellow Addicts, and as always- Happy Tapping!

And I forgot to add…in the open thread…is anyone else out there anxious as heck to see Asteroid City?…Wes Anderson is one of The Best!
Totally different….but who beats Wes Anderson and David Lynch…throw in some Tarantino and if every other film was gone…I’d be A-OK…with just their flicks. Also looking forward to the new Indiana Jones movie as well…they have a lot of cheese..but that’s fine with me. Plus Harrison Ford is 80! for crying out loud..lol.
Has anyone else ever found that the game has unhidden all of their hidden friends? I have friends in my list who haven’t played in a really long time (like many months or even years) whom I don’t want to unfriend (because they were at one time a bit special to me, for one reason or another), but whom I had set to “Hide” mode. Yesterday, when I was in my friends list, I noticed that none of my friends were in hide mode anymore! I had to go back through my whole list and check how long it’s been since each friend had played to figure out whom to set to Hide again…annoying! (I also wish the game didn’t return you to the top of the list each time you did that…so much scrolling needed!)
On a semi-related note….did anyone know the player “lambwafflex” personally? I noticed ages ago that she hadn’t played in a really, really long time. She had shared publicly that she was seriously chronically ill (with something incurable and deadly, I think) and practically lived in the hospital on and off. So, when I saw she hadn’t played in such a long time, I wondered whether she had passed away. She was very sweet and surprisingly upbeat for someone in her situation and I wish I knew what happened to her..,
I found it does that if it drops the cache – like if Bart strikes

Well, I’ve had to go through the usual periodic re-login, but I don’t gender when the last time it was that I looked at my friends list relative to that. I rarely go to the friendvilles screen anymore, except to accept new friends (got a couple of random invites lately) or to very occasionally check out what folks have done with a particular design item or something.
I wouldn’t know….I have no friends.
P.S…anyone having problems placing the new fountain? Just kidding Graham….but I’m sure it will come up AGAIN.
Funny how Tracy Altwood(?) left soon after Alissa took a much smaller load…he was crushing on her hard…lol.
Anywho…I miss NFL football. NBA almost over..same with NHL….and even though Safi would surely disagree…MLB…is just plain boring..even with games shortened by a half hour on average. I did hit on Arcangelo in the Belmont yesterday. Dinner on me….thankfully there’s nowhere special here for fine dining, way up North!..plus, like I mentioned..I have no friends.

I’d have to check. I’ve kept kept a few former Tappers saved but hidden out of sentiment, but most I’ve saved because they had really cool town designs/concepts.
Yes, that, too! No one seems to do any 3-D designs anymore the way some folks used to.
Safi, if you need an idea for this year’s summer tsto tournament: Most wanted in game feature.
A few candidates I can think of:
-Searchable inventory
-mergable group inventory
-curved road tiles
-items that can be turned 360 degrees (vehicles in particular!)
-stop tying characters.to buildings…(I have a lot of characters stored because the buildings are meh)
I’d add
– a searchable town census
– many tappers have requested a character collect all method.
-ability to sell accumulated items like mini game prizes or roaming character rewards from inventory.
– character traversable paths [including curves], hills, BRIDGES
– I personally would like to see tasks redistributed. Tasks that all the adults have like- stay at Swelldorado, dance Sr. Burns, try to win at Blackjack- be limited to a character group. Less tasks/skins for the Fab Four as Alissa refers to them and more to underutilized characters like the college nerds, Cosine, Database and hundreds of others. Get rid of tasks that are in places with zero animation to them.
Another good bracket Tappers could nominate would be animated tasks we’d like to see, for instance never understood why Samantha’s character didn’t get a joint visual of smooching Milhouse or why Erik doesn’t have a visual of beating other kids in the dodgeball court. More recently why didn’t Chinnos and the Vindicators have tasks in the HQ similar to the giant snowglobe? Missed opportunity to make a meh decoration a really cool one.
The thing I would most like to see and it’s a little tiny thing, but commas in the number of dollars you have in the game. Once you get to between seven and 12 figures of cash, it gets really difficult to figure out if you have 12 million or 1,200,000. I would love it if they would just put commas in the numbers.
