Today just so happens to be 3-14 or in the world of Geeks, Pi Day. As 3.14 is the short short short version for the symbol Pi. (Click here for more info on Pi.) Not to mention one of the Geeks of ALL Geeks, Albert Einstein, just so happens to have his birthday fall on 3-14. Seriously! It is quite a celebrated day. The College Kids at Princeton REALLY get into it each year. Just check this out.
Now why on earth am I bugging you about all things geeky and nerdy while you are on a sight about the Simpsons? Well let me explain. For one thing, Bunny is a full fledged Geek Girl and I LOVE me some Geek Boys! You also have THREE very loud and proud geek characters running around your games right now. Comic Book Guy, Sideshow Bob, and Professor Frink. (Not to mention the other members of Mensa. Can YOU name them all?) These geeks are very proud of their intellect and show it as often as they can. Mmmmmmmmmmmmm guys with intelligent brains…so HOT!!!

Geekiest moment – The day that Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows was released my family and I dressed up as characters from the Harry Potter series. I dressed up as Viktor Krum, my wife was Professor trelawney, my 8 year old son was Ron weasley (and yes, we dyed his hair red for the occasion), and my daughter, who was 6 at the time dressed up as dobby, with pointed ears and multiple hats. We all went out dress up like this, in public, to the local WalMart, and for some reason the local newspaper was there, and they asked if they could take our picture. We said “Sure.” The next day our pictures, and names, were all in the paper.
Favorite mathematical equation – I could go for the brown nose technique and choose “y = r cubed over 3” from “Bart the Genius,” but I’ll go with “You are 9/10 – 7/10!” (2/10, get it? Two/Too tenths/tense)

Ever used pi? – I have, but am now in a committe relationship.

ID Ginnafer. High school, I was the ultimate band geek and we often searched for the holy grail on invisible horses sans coconuts. Also known to spew random Homer quotes where appropriate (or not lol). Variables. Something about plugging in a # and getting a clean problem soothed the ocd. I was bad at everything else. What is the Ultimate Answer? 42. The last time I used pi I was helping my dad make my brothers wedding cake. He used it to make sure the drop lines would be even all the way around the cake. Recently, I used Pi estimate the circumference of the circle of stones I planned to place around a tree in my front yard – while I was standing in Home Depot’s garden section, without a calculator. Scared the clerk!

My nerdiest moment? Um, most every day of high school and many after that? If I have to pick one nerdiest it was probably temporarily joining the debate team and competing with them so I could write an article for the high school paper. (In a plaid skirt. It was the early 80s.)
My most hated mathematical equation was any of those stupid theorems or postulates. Why… WHYYYYYYYY?

Geekiest moment: on a camping trip with some friends and me and one other friend couldn’t sleep beacause it was pouring outside. I talked about the character of Smithers nonstop from 10 to 1. And the guy I was talking to had never even watched the simpsons.
Favorite mathematical formula: by far, the one used to find Phi using the Fibonacci sequence.in my opinion, phi, the Devine proportion, or 1.618, (look it up) has always been one H of a lot cooler than Pi!

Nerdiest moment, how to choose just one? The year HP world opened at Universal I went with my now husband. I am completely obsessed with all things Potter. The moment I walked through the gates into the WWoHP and saw Hogwarts I broke out into tears. Not just little weepy eyed tears, oh no, loud sobs of joy. A grown woman nerding out for all to see.

Seriously, I hope you can go sometime soon. The attention to detail is amazing and the butter beer is just perfect. Make sure you have a spending money budget because otherwise you’d go broke. So many cool things to buy.
I put together a HUGE HP themed party for a friend. Made all the stuff myself. Including sorting hat. Gave out tickets to 9 1/2 for the invite. Had cloaks and scarves for them to use when sorted. Had all sorts of fun “magic” experiments for them to do. And the goodie bags…they LOVED me. 😉
I saw the construction for this last November. My Mom is a total Wart and is already planning the trip to go back.

Nerdiest Moment(s) – Pewpewshazaam – when I was a wee lad in High School I played a game called World of Warcraft (just loaded the game back up recently, partay time) and a special event took place in one of the zones every 3 hours (3,6,9,12,15,18,21,24 military time) and I needed it for a low level character so I’d go at the 3 am and 6 am times since I couldnt fight the stronger players who would normally go to slaughter those who needed it. (Although this one time was pretty epic, some super high level guy was trying to get it for his younger player so when he thought the arena was clear (no one else was there) he logged and I ran in and nabbed the chest whilst he switched to his lowbie XD)
TLDR; I set my alarm(S for 3 and 6 am) for an online video game so I could win items. Did this for a couple weeks in High School.

ICarly, have many nerdy moments… my friends think I’m so cool then I say a Star Trek reference or I refer to an old cartoon and they’re like “you’re an undercover dork/need!” So I always loved the quadratic formula. The ultimate answer is Love. I used pi in school to solve circle equations and to enter this contest “pi me addicts” I smash pie in my face whenever it’s around. I would smash pie on Wookie cuz he’s not an ewok but I could still reach and it would get stuck on his hair and he’d have to make the Wookie noise then his mom would help him:)

It’s hard to pick just one geeky moment, but I did once drive an hour to visit a comic shop that was closing down (Jay & Silent Bob’s Secret Stash). The Ultimate Answer is 42 (anyone figured out the question yet?). Yes, I have used Pi. I have a vague recollection of throwing pies, possibly at a summer camp… but it’s a bit of a fuzzy memory. And Bunny seems like the most entertaining choice to to smash a pie on.

My favourite pie is a tie between Shepherd’s Pie and Lemon Meringue Pie.
But switching desserts from pie to donuts, at FP level 6, I am not only getting $94 per action, but also got a donut from two neighbour’s yesterday and another one from a neighbour’s today. Got $56,400 and 3 donuts visiting neighbour’s last two days. Hurray!!!

I had the full 300 taps each of the two days, but it seemed completely random who and when I got the 3 donuts from. The person I got it from last night was not one of the two I got it from on Wednesday.
Yah, mine is random too. I tapped through 19 neighbors tagging and tapping buildings, I got one. (Though you don’t see a donut, just an extra added to your town.) 😉
