So, it’s nearing the end of February and y’all know what that means, right? Fat Tuesday! The day it’s ok to be fat on Tuesday. Ok, maybe not that but it does mean that Mardis Gras aka the “Carnival season” is coming soon. Whether just celebrating the day before the Christian Ash Wednesday (1st day of Lent) or encompassing the entire period from Kings day (Epiphany) to Fat Tuesday, it is pretty well known for costumes, masks, defiance of social conventions, parades, and beads, can’t forget the beads. Not sure how far back the beads go but the actual event can be traced back to Medieval history.
Reader Seapeach1 had asked if we’d talk about it here at Addicts and I thought it was a great idea. While I doubt EA will tie in this event with the game, it’s always nice to revisit Simpsons episodes and like Bart Simpson says, “Mardi Gras, man. When the Big Easy calls, ya gotta accept the charges.”
Just a reminder…I want 2D lettering for Showoff tomorrow. I want to see what you have spelled out or have written in your town. Bad words? (Well EA did hint they wanted us to spell something with those rose bushes. Try and keep it as close to PG as possible. Lol.) Announcing your love for a neighbor? Shout out to your fav blog? Well another social event is upon us and you know what that means….time to load up on those neighbor-eenos!!
This social event has brought along a bit of a hot button issue. Something that seems to have a lot of you either really giddy or really ticked. And that something is….Graffiti!
I wrote an entire post about the pros and cons of vandalizing your neighbors during this event (which you can find here) and at the end I asked for YOUR opinion. Well 87.5% of you said YES Vandalize me BUT 12.5% of you said DON’T YOU DARE TOUCH MY BUILDINGS!
And that post sparked this comment from TowJamb: I only get on either every eight hours or every twelve hours, and when I do, my town has always been vandalized, and it destroys my righteousness rating, thereby taking my overall rating down by half a star. That costs me income, so when anyone vandalizes my town, I delete them from my friends list. I started off post-Valentine event with my list maxed out, and I’m now down to less than 80, but I don’t care. The vandalism feature is the number one thing I dislike about this game (ahead of even the crashing and the server issues), and as long as people keep trashing my star rating, I’ll keep deleting them. What I’d love to see on this site is an “add me” thread for people who don’t trash each other’s towns. I seriously HATE being vandalized, and I NEVER vandalize anyone else. Is there a thread for like-minded, law-abiding citizens to find each other? I’ve got over twenty newly empty spots on my friends list for nice, non-destructive people like me!
So between those poll results and TowJamb’s comment I decided let’s start an Add-Me thread for those who pledge not to Vandalize each other’s towns, just like TowJamb requested!
So here you go guys….here’s your thread for those of you who PLEDGE NOT TO VANDALIZE EACH OTHER’S TOWNS NO MATTER WHAT! If you can’t keep that pledge…please don’t add your name to this thread. We’ve got a whole other Add-Me Thread here, for those who may/may not vandalize each other.

Anywho…we’ve already covered the first Friendship prize, so now let’s talk about the second prize, the Singing Sirloin. The Singing Sirloin is unlocked once you’ve unlocked the Olmec Head AND earn an additional 2,000FP…and many of you should be unlocking it at some point today or tomorrow (depending on how many friends you have). Well, it’s 3D Thursday and I thought today we could have some fun in Krustyland (KL) for a change. I don’t know about you but my poor theme park has been pretty neglected for quite a while. Sure I threw my new rides from the various holiday events in there but haven’t done much else.
Well, I’m ashamed of myself. I’m a Disneyland Annual Passholder and go all the time and still have a so-so KL. You’d never guess how much I love amusement parks by looking at my designs. (Well, the pathway to the castle with the Krusty Statue in front of it might give you a guess but that’s not the point.) Thankfully, other Addicts aren’t as neglectful of KL as me. Over at TOuk, I saw this amazing 3D Design from Steven Itman and liked it a bunch. With his permission, I thought we’d do a little 3D tutorial. Sound good? If yes, click more….
How are you all enjoying visiting your neighbors? Are you taking the time to enjoy their towns and designs? Remember this is not a limited-time event. There is no countdown clock going on the Friendship Rewards…so take your time with it. And enjoy looking at what your neighbors created!

Ah yes vandalizing your neighbors…which for the longest time has been something many of us have tried to avoid (and some of us only do) because of the negative dip in Righteousness Rating points. BUT with the Friendship event vandalizing your neighbors seems to be beneficial to BOTH of you when it comes to earning those precious FPs! So let’s take a closer look at some of the pros, cons & solutions of spraying that graffiti…
Well EA finally released an item that seems to have been sitting idle in the files for a while now. It is an odd looking item, but seems to fit in with the latest “Social Event” EA has released to keep our lil tappin fingers happy while they work on the next big thing.
The item in question is the Olmec Head. SAY WHAT??!?!! What the frak is THAT? Well hang on while I break down the item and just as to why it appeared in our games.
Are you all enjoying the little social game EA given us with the Valentine’s Day Removal update? Are you remembering to take your time and enjoy your neighbor’s town? There is no rush to complete the prizes ASAP. There’s no clock on this event, so take your time. Relax and enjoy tapping! Oh and the free stuff…
