Addicts Want to Know: To Nuke or Not To Nuke….

Hey Howdy Hey Tappers!

Well it would seem as if we’re in a bit of a summer lull in Springfield.  With the Yard Sale not bringing any new content, beyond Mayan Marge, for many Tappers…we’re all starting to feel the lull in game play.  In my opinion these lulls have ALWAYS been the perfect time to work on some redesigns of Springfield.

During our Sunday Night Open Thread this past week, several of you commented that you’ve taken advantage of the Nuclear Option and are taking advantage of the lull & completely redesigning your Springfield.  While others expressed concern  for wiping out their whole town.  So here’s what I want to know….

What are your thoughts on the nuclear option?  Have you pushed the trigger yet?  How do you feel about the lull in the game right now?  Sound off in the comments below, you know we LOVE hearing from you!

Psst…if you’re looking for a little inspiration in the design department you can check out our Design page here OR the AMAZING work of your fellow Tappers over on our Flickr Page 🙂

  1. That would be stupid of me to nuke something that can’t be redone: at some point, you could place any object near a fence even if it was “inside” it. You can’t do that anymore.

  2. Seeing a few friends nuking. Mr Silly has “Soon” spelt out :). On the other hand, his KL is AMAZING!!!!

    • You are too kind. Yeah, as a kid, I was the one pushing the “Do Not Push” buttons. Some things never change…lol And that new Krustyland update is truly “Christmas in July”. I’m super silly happy right now. 😀

  3. Level 42 with a 5 🌟tasting. Daily player. Add me! Username: robaej

  4. I’m still a bit too scared to hit that nuke button just yet. I still like my springfield but it’s just a bit too squished as my last major re-design was done when I had a lot less land. The way I’m thinking now is I might just start at the edge of my map and work my way in so that I can keep everything there so I remember how I have it now but I could then re-create it with more space between buildings.
It could just take one major event (monorail) to make me change this plan and just hit that nuke button but if I do I think it might be a struggle to hit each confirm button 🙂

  5. Secret Option #5: Nuke Krustyland! 😉

  6. Hi guys I posted last week that i had nuked my town an in doing so I realized an learned alot. First i have alot more space now. The game doesn’t lag anymore an most important is that fences add up really quick for that 4500 decor limit. I for sure don’t wont to lose my town like bunny lost her b town for having to many decorations. I also believe that’s why when visiting friends towns it lags sometimes. An to give you a idea how big my town is I’m level 42 been playing for a year an I still have four roles to add to the bottom an three to the right of land. My next thing to do is deleting friends who just are not plating anymore. Getting ready for a new year for me atleast lol. Maybe though this post will help some new players planning there town I hope. An maybe e a will increase the decorations cap it has been two years for the game so it I think would help long time players. Thanks for letting rant lol an post my thoughts you guys are the best
    Happy tapping

  7. I’d like to see an option where you square off an area then nuke it. I can’t sacrifice my park. Putting back all those trees and flowers. ..

    • heheheh well now you are just asking TOO much. 😛

    • I’d love to square off an area and move it all together. I really like my stonecutter compound but might want it elsewhere.

Also would love to have the option to store all of a item rather than one at a time. I HATE moving fences and bushes and trees.

In case they happen to be reading 😉

  8. I definitely won’t nuke. Like any actual town my Springfield grows organically and not in a though-out, drawing-board designed fashion. I believe that it’d lose its imperfect charm when I’d start from scratch.

  9. Going to nuke eventually my town is a chaotic mess as I buy more landfor it. Once im done with that I will be redesigning

  10. We need something to do in springfield

  11. I nuked mine soon after I completed the 4th of July quest lines. Finished my re-design about a week and a half ago and still getting used to where I put things. Don’t regret it though, I had too many buildings that were placed anywhere that had space during the Easter and Stonecutter events.

  12. I am liking the lull. I recently hit level 42 so I am saving up for the itchy and scratchy factory. No nuke for me. I am having too much fun making everything look just right. It takes a lot of time and much more thought. Plus i keep needing to add more land to fit the vision, that takes so much of the hard saved money. I like having those 100 neighbors to get just that extra added inspiration from. Such a gloriously addicting game.

    • You sound like you take pride in creating a good looking Springfield and I’m always looking for neighbours with awesome towns to admire. If you have someone on you’re friend list who doesn’t play as often as you’d like, my username is KMonk023. If not, no worries. 🙂

      • Your town is fantastic Kyle and I would absolutely recommend you as a great neighboureeno.

      • Thanks Alpine1M, I’m very flattered to hear that. You have a great town too and you’re also a great neighbour as I can always expect something to tap on in your town. I also admire anyone who’s sprung 300 donuts on the whale, which I see myself doing at some point in the future. 🙂

      • Well I do have a couple that could use some movers to ship them to another neighborhood. I am curious now as to see what kind of inspiration you will provide.

  13. My town to perfect lol

    Reckless718

  14. I am at level 41 and less than half way to getting Vulgari. I really hope this lull continues. Or they add a lottery ticket so I can get some cash going.

  15. Do you have to wait for everything to rebuild again or does it just go instantly?

  16. I think it’s great we have the nuke option but I won’t be using it on my Springfield. My town has been a work in progress since I started and will continue to be with new buildings and decorations that come with the updates. I’ve been redesigning the parts of my town I didn’t like over the past month or two and I’m almost fully satisfied with everything. I, like everyone else, enjoy the updates whether it be a new level, event, or episode tie-in, but I kind of like the little lull right now because I’ve been trying to get to that $10 million mark for the Sit-N-Rotate which I finally did today. I’m gonna hold off on buying it though in case we have a new level this week with a new building to buy 🙂

  17. I’m not changing anything on my Springfield right now, it might not be the perfect one but I think it is ok for now. On the other hand, I’m focusing on earnig money coz I want that sit n’ rotate restaurant so bad, 3 millions and a half to go!

  18. I also nuked my Krustyland to take advantage of a land expansion. Now that Sit-&-Rotate is up and running (I wish they would fix Selma’s tasks as she now always defaults to eating there), I’m working hard to buy all of the rest of Krustyland’s land and will nuke again once that’s done. It took quite a while to put Krustyland back together the first time… not sure I’d want to deal with all of the stuff in Springfield.

  19. It has been 2 weeks since Ive been able to log in so I am missing out on a lot of good stuff. 🙁 Not cool guys.

  20. Nuked it till it glowed 😉 kind of wished it would have reset the land too as my current layout is designed to be as tap efficient as possible and now I have lots of open green space.

  21. If I’m right we hope duly get an update with new content tomorrow on the 23th. Let’s hope its going to be true 🙂

  22. I want to start from scratch but I’m nervous because I heard about so many glitches the first time it was rolled out…I don’t want to lose my lemon tree!!

    • I don’t blame you for the concerns. The first time around is always nerve-wracking! 🙂

    • WanderingCaveman

I recently nuked my town. It stored everything but the Simpson house, the Krustyland bus, and the lemon tree. I was a little concerned about loosing items as well. Before I hit the button I took screen shots of all my premium and event reward items so that I could submit them to EA if anything disappeared.

  23. Can I choose the other option: I have to wait for Brandine Spuckler to finish giving birth to a spuckler. And even worst, the day Brandine finishes this task, is the first day back to school. It’s like a countdown to HELL!!!!!!!! I’ll have the lull between late August and the Halloween update to redesign though! 🙂

  24. Oh I nuked my two weeks ago. Like a dummy. I forgot I was growing corn and only had 20 days left on it!!! However no worries my new town is more organized.

  25. O just nuked it and am overwhelmed by how much crap I have. I’m having trouble determining where to put sh** though. I got a forest area with the army place and Abe and other stuff but its not what I envisioned. Wish I didn’t do it now … damn how I am regretting it. Time to nuke it again till its perfect.

  26. I’ve thought about hitting the button, and actually did once, and then chickened out. I would like to redo it all and it just seems so overwhelming. So right now I am stalling, buying all of the land available and then will see.

  27. What’s lull? Also I’m almost level 42 but still need to do level 41.
Kinda takes a while to collect money.

  28. I nuked my Springfield. I really needed a change and I kept seeing cool ideas. I’ve tried the “one area at a time” thing but it didn’t really work. Things weren’t fitting in the way I wanted them. So last week I nuked my whole town and started redesigning from scratch. It was a little annoying dragging everything out of storage but I don’t regret it. I love my new Springfield. It isn’t exactly finished yet but it pretty much is. There’s just a few things I might change or add in the future.

    • Be sure to show us your new Springfield when you have it complete! 🙂

      • After a few hours and watching tv in between, I’ve finally screenshot my Springfield. I wish I had a before photo but sadly I never screenshot it before I nuked it (it wasn’t that great anyway). It’s not too fancy now but I love it for the most part. I need to start saving up more money to expand downwards so I can fix my residential area. Hopefully once I expand, I can get more creative like everyone else. Don’t think I could ever do 3D though. Much too complicated for me. But here’s my town (with a few ideas I’ve gotten from other users)…. http://i1206.photobucket.com/albums/bb456/emily6108/my_springfield_zps13bface5.jpg

        • Great Job! Looks pretty good to me. 😉

If you wanna…start really small on 3D. It seems scary and overwhelming at first, but oh so very fun. We have lil 101 tutorials you can play with. Give it a try and see what happens. 😉

  29. I wasn’t quite ready to nuke my Springfield, too much of a wuss. So, I nuked my Krustyland and am having a blast redesigning.

Maybe during the next lull I will pull the trigger (or tap 4 times) and nuke Springfield proper??

  30. Do you happen to know how many characters (income producing only) we could possibly have if we had everybody that has been released? (including Stampy, Jub-Jub, Spuckler Brood, etc)

    • 148 Characters total (From my count) not including skins…from that 45 are NPCS and 103 are playable. (Spuckler kids are NPCs for this count, and stampy and Jub Jub are playable for this count)
