Simpsons News: Awesome September Concert

Hello hello my friends.

Wookiee popping in just to share some more Simpsons News for all my favorite tappers.  This time, it’s news about an open air concert dedicated to the Best. Show. Ever.

Simpsons Bowl

Last week, addicts reader Robin popped in to our Sunday Night Open Thread and had this awesome news to share (just more proof you never know what will be discussed during them):

For all you SoCal Simpsons fans out there:

The Hollywood Bowl is having a 3 day Simpsons event.

Conan O’Brian will be singing the Monorail Song. Also, “Voice actor Hank Azaria will host the “Simpsons” event, which will feature the show’s voice cast, including Nancy Cartwright, Yeardley Smith and guest performers Beverly D’Angelo, Jon Lovitz, “Weird Al” Yankovic and “Simpsons” creator Matt Groening.”

“The Hollywood Bowl event, with a fireworks finale, will take place Sept. 12-14. The 26th season of “The Simpsons” will debut on Fox on Sept. 28.”

Here’s the website she linked to.

Ticket prices range from $18.10 US to $193.10 depending on what day you go and where you want to sit.  Here’s what the site had to say about the performance.

“The Simpsons is widely considered to be one of the greatest TV shows of all time – 28 Primetime Emmys®! The longest running American sitcom ever continues to thrive with its dead-on satire and razor-sharp wit. Journey from the Springfield Bowl to the Hollywood Bowl for this unprecedented event, as the orchestra accompanies your favorite scenes on the big screen. Join the celebration of a quarter century of groundbreaking creativity, with plenty of special guests and a fireworks finale.”

So incredibly cool.  As I am one of those fortunate tappers who live in Southern California, I will most certainly be attending this event and if nothing else, you will certainly hear all about this in a later post.  The Hollywood Bowl is a very cool venue and this concert has me super hyped.  What is there not to love about Simpsons legends, fireworks, Conan O’Brien and Weird Al?

What do you think about this?  Plan on going?  Do you feel up to Wookiee sighting?  Sound off below.  I’m now wondering how many Addicts might be enjoying the awesomeness with me. Well, I’m off to Ticketmaster to get some seats.  Y’all stay classy like usual.  Special thanks to Robin for sharing.

TTFN… Wookiee out!

  1. I really want to go to this, but just started a job and funds are low 🙁 you can get cheapish tickets, but I hate those ticketmaster fees! So annoying. Might see if ican get them directly from the bowl and avoid ticketmaster, but I’m not getting my hopes up.

  2. Thanks for this post, I am very excited. As a San Diegan, the Bowl is only a little over 100 miles away. Now, I just need to see if I can make one or more of the days fit my schedule and then try to get a group to go with me (always more fun with a group). It is a great venue to see almost any musical performance. In the nearly half century that I have been going there (yes, I am old plus I was born and raised in LA) I have seen everything from Queen to the Boston Pops, sat from the cement benches at the top to the terrace boxes below and I have never been disappointed.

RANDOM THOUGHT….what if there was a TSTO picnic gathering one of the days beforehand, (not catered, just bring your own food, meet and eat) or even just some sort of a flash mob?

    • Interesting thought. If it happens it’d have to be something Wookiee puts together, he’s the sole Addict attending (As of now). Hopefully we’ll do some kind of bigger Addict meet up soon though 🙂

  3. Well any of the event ever be televised?

  4. For eastcoasters like me, if your willing to wait a while, I suggest the college humor comedy music awards. It was just announced, and you can epect to see wierd al, Bo birnum, epic rap battles of history, and most of the others preforming and receiving awards. It’s in the very beginning of development, so I probably shouldn’t give to many details before they are finalized, but I. Can say that it will be in NYC, it will air for the rest of the country by IFC, and I will be there.

  5. Guys… Australia. Couldn’t road trip it if I tried 🙁 sounds amazing so jealous!
