Gil’s Got A Glitch: Issue w/Otto & School Bus Deal

Update 8/14 5:30 PM EDT: Looks like Gil has finally made it to towns.  EA has sent another little update to our games and this one should repair the glitching Gil deal.  Many of you are reporting seeing him (finally) make it to your Springfield!

Update 8/14 2:30 PM EDT: Hey guys Alissa popping in here to let you know about a little test I just ran to see if I could get the deal to tigger.  I started another anonymous Springfield on my tablet.  (I cleared all the data from TSTO and started fresh)
I played through the tutorial and up to Level 5.  Got to the part where Homer has to play his myPad for 45 seconds….as soon as I completed it BOOM..Gil appeared.

There’s also a link to him in the build menu:

My guess is that the decorations (Swings & Seesaw) are preventing this from popping in players towns.  It seems this was thrown together quickly and in the haste someone forgot to check to make sure it triggers if you have non-unique items already.

My suggestion is STILL add your name to the Forum post below AND contact EA directly over the issue.  It’s someone that they need to get flooded with to fix.

Hey there Hoppereenos. Jumpin in to see what I can do to try and help out with the issue I see hitting fast. The New Gil Deal from today not working at all for many players.

Minor In-Game Update: ANOTHER Gil Deal

UPDATE FROM BUNNY 11PM EST: Many can’t get the deal to trigger. I’m looking into it and testing some possible fixes. Will update if successful.

Gil is a Glitchy!  Check out this post for more

Hey Howdy Hey Tappers!

Well at least we know there are signs of life at EA as we just received a minor in game update to TSTO…2014-08-13 21.17.54

As of right now I see nothing new in my game.  However…the files are calling it a Back to School Pre Patch.  So it could be the precursor to something more?  We’ll have to wait and see.

Right now we’re checking to see if we see any differences in the game.  Perhaps a sign of things to come?  What do YOU think?  Sound off in the comments below, you know we LOVE hearing from you!

Update 5:30 PM EDT: I stand corrected..it’s ANOTHER Gil deal (had to go into my C game to see it).  Yikes!  This time Gil’s offering you Otto’s School Bus (and some playground equipment) for 70 donuts…if you already have Otto you won’t see it (which explains why many of us were scratching our heads).

More details below the fold.

Whole ‘Nother Level: Honorable Mention

alltappedout2buildbetterspringfieldHey Howdy Hey Tappers!

As I mentioned when we announced the finalists for the A Whole ‘Nother Level Contest  we had so many AMAZING entries it was really difficult for us to pick the top 10, so we expanded it to 15…and even then it was difficult!  You guys are seriously so incredibly talented and completely blew us away!

So now that the contest is officially over and the winners have been announced we wanted to take some time and share with you some of our favorites outside of the top 15.  At various points we’ll be sharing 1 or 2 entries with you guys, so you can get a feel for just how talented everyone really is  and maybe inspire EA to give us an update already!  The eventual plan is to have a page of Addicts Dedicated to these ideas (and future ones)..but for now we thought it’d give you guys some fun reading! 🙂

Here are two great level ideas from DDCgirl and ranfelsner….enjoy!

Diary of a Wookiee: Completely Random Thoughts

How the heck are my favorite tappers doing?  I think we can all agree that we are in an EA-induced lull period where we all figure out new things to do to our town or newer tappers play catch-up.  Money is saved up for that next big purchase (Sit-N-Rotate is mine in about 3 million) and we all just cross our fingers for the next update.  With some free time, I figured I’d just write out some random thoughts in my noggin.  Click more if that sounds like your bag.
