Where Did THAT Come From – Two Story Outhouse

Open bomb bay doors… look out below!

Hey hey friends!  It seems EA had some sneaky surprises waiting for us and delivered on more items for our TSTO wargame.  A bunch of different items arrived and as always, I get the privilege to dish on the origins of them.  Today I thought we’d look at the Two Story Outhouse.  For the cost of 3000 Elixir, it boosts your Vanity rating by 800 points and as a nice bonus, can be placed on the grass, pavement, beach and Squidports of your town.  Makes sense, people gotta see a man about a wallaby in all sorts of places.

I immediately saw this beauty and got super stoked because it is one of my favorite gags from Kent Brockman’s Eye on Springfield stuff.  Coming from Season 8, Episode 17: “My Sister, My Sitter (S8:E17)”, it’s really just a quick little scene designed for laughter.

Kent Brockman: “Tonight on ‘Eye on Springfield’, opening day at the world’s first two story outhouse.”
Outhouse Guy: “Oh, God, stop!”

Two Story Outhouse

Hahahahahahahahaha… classic Simpsons.  Seriously one of those jokes that just never gets old and I love that I can have this gem in my town.

Even better is when life imitates art. You’d think this would be one of those hair-brained creations which would never exist.  Well… you’d be wrong with thoughts like that.  Just for fun, I figured I’d share some images of “real” two story outhouses.  Some are jokes but, believe it or not, there are a few legit ones here.

World's First Two-Story Outhouse1) Nevada City Motel, Montana – real
2) Arkansas “landmark” on a real postcard
3) Joke in Moab, Utah
4) Real outhouse in California… supposedly the bottom is closed but seeing as I’m from Cali, ya never know
5) Joke in someone’s backyard in Oregon
6) Unknown, image said this was seen in Sapporo (and the only one I know of is in Japan) but this looks legit.

Well warriors, that’s about all I have to say about two story outhouses.  A funny gag whether it’s in the Best. Show. Ever. or if it’s in real life.

TTFN… Wookiee out!

  1. Mine are next to crazy cat lady house somewhere for her cats to go….

  2. Many years ago, I found myself in the small town of Gregory, SD to attend the wedding of one of my cousins. Gregory happens to have a Museum dedicated to Outhouses (look it up if you doubt!), and I remember staring at the two-story outhouse there like it was the dumbest thing ever. However, it was soon explained to me that the two levels were never open at the same time. The bottom level was used most of the year, and the top level was used in the winter, ’cause who wants to shovel snow when you have to go!

  3. I put mine by the nuclear power plant, because the unions aren’t strong enough to stop me.

  4. I put mine by Bart’s castle. If anyone would make sure to install it, it’s Bart. 🙂

  5. I have been waiting for this deco. since I started playing. On of my favorite jokes. I put mine by Cleetus’ shack.
