Hey there Hoppereenos. Jumpin on in here with the breakdown of those fun lil trick or treat bags you send the lil kids out to collect for you. What goodies are inside? Any surprises? Keep on reading to find out.
So you send one of the many kids from Springfield out to get you a bag full of goodies, now what? Well the first thing you do is head on over to the Make-A-Thing shop and tap on it.
There is also a shortcut and notification on your main screen for this in the top right corner of your game. If you see an ! there, it means you have Treat Bags waiting to be opened. Tapping on the icon will immediate pop up the Craft Items screen for you.
Inside you will find a pop up list of items that will show you many items. Up top will be the total amount of Treat Bags that your kids have picked up. (If you have some you have not yet opened, they also will “wiggle” to get your attention. The items below will also prompt you to open the bags that you have not yet.)
In the main area you will see the many items you can currently craft. If you have collected enough items to create something the area will be highlighted in green and the icon “CRAFT NOW” will be ready to tap. Make sure you actually want this item, because once you tap “CRAFT NOW” all those items it required will be deducted from your total and taken away from being able to use on a separate item. NOTE: IF YOU USE DONUTS TO SPEED UP THE PRIZE, ALL YOUR ITEMS WILL BE USED FOR IT ALSO.
At the bottom will be the item count area. This is where you can see what goodies you have collected so far and have left remaining to use to craft objects in the main area. Again, if you “CRAFT” an item, the amounts it required to make it will be deducted from these totals. The goodies are like money, once it is used it is gone.
Once you tap on one of the bags at the top, it will open and collect the items for you. The ingredients will add to your collection counts below. The “random prizes” will add to the locations they would normally show. Like Donuts to Donuts Count, Probes to Probe Count, and Items to Inventory Storage Box.
WHAT IS INSIDE THE TREAT BAGS?
There are 3 separate treat bags you can get from the kids, quests, shooting down the Rigellian UFO in your neighbors, and from squishing Rigellian Aliens. Here is the break down for each one.

WHAT ITEMS CAN YOU “CRAFT”?
Here are the items you can “CRAFT” at Make-A-Things. Keep in mind, many of these you need to complete quests, tasks, or other things to unlock the items first. Once unlocked, you can get the option to craft it. (Some will not unlock until the 2nd or 3rd cycle of prizes for you to be able to craft them if you do not win them in alotted time. So prize from cycle one won’t be available til cycle 2 to craft. This is great as it means you get a second chance at prizes.)

Several of the basic items you can make again and again, however the cost will go up each time of needed items. (There will be a plus sign next to the item that will increase.)
WHAT ABOUT THE PUMPKIN HOUSE AND SPOOKY HOUSE?
Once you have completed the tasks and unlocked ability to craft the Grand Pumpkin and Hugo, you will see the 2 houses linked. One to each one of them. Once you collect and create the The Grand Pumpkin (and complete the dialog for creating it), you will get the chance to create more of the Pumpkin Houses. Once you complete the Creation of Hugo (and part 5 of his quest), you will get the chance to create more Spooky Houses. Here is a basic idea of what it will take, but keep in mind…each additional build will require more and more candy items.

WHAT ABOUT THE WEAPON BOARD W/NAIL?
The Weapon itself will continue to be upgradeable as you earn nails throughout the event. Each level will require more and more nails. So keep collecting them. Now I am sure you are wondering just what this does when you upgrade. It essentially widens the “Squish Zone” radius. So if you have multiple lil Rigellian Aliens close by, instead of squishing one you will get more than one. Each upgrade adds a bigger and bigger space of attack for you. Basically upgrading your Weapon is a good idea.
So there you have it. A lot of really cool items intertwined into the event that allow YOU to decide what prizes and decorations YOU want in your town. What do you think of all this? After last update just a while ago on my android phone 4.4.4 game doeos not launch at all. I have tried to clear cache, clear data and reinstall the game – still the same problem
If normal troubleshooting doesn’t fix it, next step is to try a different device and/or contact EA.

Excellent article. Nice to see the odds in print, and you cleared up a couple minor details I hadn’t thought of.
One thing I just found out, if you spend donuts to speed up a crafting, you still spend the crafting items allocated to that thing. I just spend 9 donuts to speed up Hugo, and when I went back to my crafting page I saw that all my Broken Fences, Rotten Eggs, and most my Candy Corn (the first 250) were all gone. I realize now, this is a “no-duh” thing, but maybe mention it above?
I’m glad, also that you note (2) quantity on the donuts prize. I keep a donut log, and while I saw the donut icon pop out of a bag the other day, I didn’t realize I’d won two, so later when I was balancing out my log I was going mad trying to figure out how I was off by +1. I know, I know, first world problem. LOL

Do the weapon upgrades actually matter or do they have any tangible effect ?
They increase the radius of your sky finger when you squish Rigellians. I try to get as many as I can with one squish. Personal best now is 6.
and indication that HUGO wil not be avaliable anymore after the change of currency ? (and then Rigeian Queen will be instead?)

This is my FAVORITE event so far! I love that we can choose what to use our goodies on! Love that there is the ability to get free donuts and ammo to get extra “premium” goodies! The only thing I’m a little disappointed about is the grem-aliens…I hoped for loot like we find in trick or treat bags, but probes gets us closer to earning trick or treat bags so it’s close to the same thing. Loving it!

They will be available to the end. Phase II will bring over new stuff and also transfer in any probe prizes you weren’t able to get.
Grapestomper, Yea I was getting probes last night when i visited other Springfields, and this morning nada, nothing, zilch. So I have stopped visting other springfrields to see if EA is going to fix it. I feel like I have been robbed of my god given right to squish aliens and collect probes. Okay maybe this is a little much but give me my probes or give me death.
You get 90 actions for probes every 24 hours then you get cash. So you have to wait 24 hours before you can collect probes again.
Is there a treat cost to the next level prizes? I.e. Hugo costs x,y,z, but is there another amount that needs to be saved for the spooky house?

Maybe I didn’t phrase my question intelligently (no surprise if it’s me!) I see that Hugo costs 300 fences, 300 eggs, and 250 candy corn. However after you get Hugo, there’s a quest he’s in that at part 5, will lead to the spooky house. Is there going to be another fence/egg/etc cost for that house?

I think he means does it cost candy/fences/eggs for the Spooky House or Pumpkin House on the quest after the are unlocked via Hugo and the Grand Pumpkin.

I was really excited to get donuts in the treat bags this morning! I had no idea there were other cool things to “win”. I’m not getting my Grem-probes either. Seems to be going around.
Is anyone else not getting their probes added to their inventory when grems are squished or finished their mission in other Springfields?
Definitely contact EA if you’re not earning the probes.
I am having the same problem. I spoke to EA, looks like they are working on a patch for that.
Are you sure the pumpkin is around 1% in all three bags? I know I’ve gotten a much higher hit rate than that. I can’t just be that lucky, right?
It feels like it should be closer to the chocolate bar, maybe 35% in the gold bags?
The numbers were directly pulled from the stats. If you get them more often, that is a plus to you. 😉
We just go by what the code says. You’re just probably lucky. I seem to get a bit more than that too.
I get the pumkins too…lucky there but unlucky on others…I am getting a very small amount of the ammo and no donuts for blowing up UFOs yet. Hopefully the odds will shift later in the event.
I’m in the same boat, but I have gotten donuts more than once – and never gotten a shrub which I would actually like!
Pep, you’re guaranteed to get the shrub if you dump all your Grem-Aliens in my Springfield. Just mine. No one else’s. I read that somewhere. 😉

Stop over thinking it. Lol. This is just a brief overall view. Just like in Vegas…YOUR odds will vary from everyone else. It is the luck of the draw. It all depends on how YOUR curve pays out. 😉

Unfortunately we can’t do anything from our end. Contacting EA is your best bet besides trying to play on a different device.
have you reset your device? eliminated extra files taking up space (podcasts, photos, extra apps)? I have a tap booster on my device that clears the ram of extra stuff prior to playing the game on my older device
I’m not sure if we had ever got the answer to why the quest keep circling for the kids to trick and treat. But I read the remaining quest won’t kick in until October 20th. I was trying to find your original post about it but it’s gone.
It’s basically a place holder until the next phase kicks off. I think of it as a reminder to keep your kiddos trick or treating to earn those goody bags.
I’m a bit confused on what those percentages mean. If those are the percentages for each single item in a bag then the columns should add to 100%. If those are the probabilities of getting at least one of those items in a bag then the specialty items (e.g., fences and eggs for bronze) should be 100% as at least one of each is guaranteed.
Also, since gold bags are primarily chocolate and pumpkins the “>1%” for pumpkins in the third column doesn’t seem right. The percentages could be for the last four items (after the first two fixed items based on bag type), but that would make pumpkins much harder to get than chocolate and I actually have more pumpkins. Similarly, I have roughly the same number of eggs and fences instead of drastically more fences as that would imply.
Sorry to be difficult, but I just want to make sure I understand how it all works. I’ve been refreshing tstoaddicts about a hundred times a day since the event started (up from my usual ten) and will probably keep doing so until the event ends 🙂
Don’t add them. These are just the possibilities. Many of the rarer items are grouped. Just know that the HIGHER percentages are more likely to be awarded vs the lower. You will get SOMETHING at least. It will just vary on what that blend of items is.

Sorry for the second comment, but I’m not sure I understand how the quests associated with the crafted items work. If we don’t have the spooky house or pumpkin house, can we still craft it Hugo and the great pumpkin? If so what does it mention the quests for?
The great pumpkin and Hugo are first. Once you craft either, their quests allow you to craft the others.

I have a human test subject in my inventory, I thought I crafted if by accident! Lucky me, I’m a less then 1%er =)
Already received 2 of them (third I crafted before gettin any – now missing the items, broken fences and chocolates mainly for crafting), also 2 alien shrubs and 3x wall. And 3x 2 donuts. So I would guess the chances are bit higher. Or just lucky.
If I craft an item, will the same item still be craftable or will it switch to a new one? Is the craftable items list connected to the 6day left countdown?
A few are unique like Hugo and the Great Pumpkin. Others can be done over and over.
I have been waiting for all this info! Thanks!! I’m calmer now. Btw where do I report a problem? I’ve gotten around 5 grem aliens in my town that when I try and squish freeze up and just sit there and I get notin. I refresh and they are gone. Has anyone had that problem?

So, on the tapping and squishing, I noticed that if I tap a group of three or more aliens at once, I get a bronze bag, and if I do that twice in a row I get a silver, depending on how many more I squish. It’s happened like five or six times with no gold bag showing up. I know there’s a small chance of bags with squishing, but does this happen to anyone else?

Hello, I have won two “human test subjects”. Do I have to craft the one in my “make a thing store” to load a new prize or will it stay the same prize after crafted? Should I just save for the “grand pumkin”? I don’t see the shrub or queen as prizes as well. Your site is awesome, the only place I come to for help with tsto.
You have option to win them so don’t craft more if you don’t want more. Save your items. 😉

Yes. I bought one, placed it and can still craft more. It only pays out one pumpkin every 24 hrs… Not much.
I already had the pumpkin house before this event started, I earned the Grand Pumpkin and it then stated I could craft Pumpkin Houses. I’m currently 91 eggs away from being able to craft one, but I’m currently saving those eggs for Hugo.
Apparently you can craft another Pumpkin House even if you already have one. I have mine from last year and after I crafted The Grand Pumpkin there was some dialog between him and Homer and a task to place the Pumpkin House. Since I already had mine it showed the task as completed.
In my Craft Items menu it still shows the Pumpkin House available to craft for 300 rotten eggs, 300 candy corn, and 50 pumpkins.
I know this is a weird question, but do you guys consider this a big update?
