So you send one of the many kids from Springfield out to get you a bag full of goodies, now what? Well the first thing you do is head on over to the Make-A-Thing shop and tap on it.

Make A Thing Workshop

There is also a shortcut and notification on your main screen for this in the top right corner of your game. If you see an ! there, it means you have Treat Bags waiting to be opened. Tapping on the icon will immediate pop up the Craft Items screen for you.

Make A Thing Treat Bag Notification and Shortcut

Inside you will find a pop up list of items that will show you many items. Up top will be the total amount of Treat Bags that your kids have picked up. (If you have some you have not yet opened, they also will “wiggle” to get your attention. The items below will also prompt you to open the bags that you have not yet.)

Make A Thing Treat Bags Counts

In the main area you will see the many items you can currently craft. If you have collected enough items to create something the area will be highlighted in green and the icon “CRAFT NOW” will be ready to tap. Make sure you actually want this item, because once you tap “CRAFT NOW” all those items it required will be deducted from your total and taken away from being able to use on a separate item.  NOTE: IF YOU USE DONUTS TO SPEED UP THE PRIZE, ALL YOUR ITEMS WILL BE USED FOR IT ALSO.

Make A Thing Treat Bag Craft Item

At the bottom will be the item count area. This is where you can see what goodies you have collected so far and have left remaining to use to craft objects in the main area. Again, if you “CRAFT” an item, the amounts it required to make it will be deducted from these totals. The goodies are like money, once it is used it is gone.

Make A Thing Treat Bag Goodies Totals

Once you tap on one of the bags at the top, it will open and collect the items for you. The ingredients will add to your collection counts below. The “random prizes” will add to the locations they would normally show. Like Donuts to Donuts Count, Probes to Probe Count, and Items to Inventory Storage Box.

WHAT IS INSIDE THE TREAT BAGS?
There are 3 separate treat bags you can get from the kids, quests, shooting down the Rigellian UFO in your neighbors, and from squishing Rigellian Aliens. Here is the break down for each one.

WHAT ITEMS CAN YOU “CRAFT”?
Here are the items you can “CRAFT” at Make-A-Things. Keep in mind, many of these you need to complete quests, tasks, or other things to unlock the items first. Once unlocked, you can get the option to craft it. (Some will not unlock until the 2nd or 3rd cycle of prizes for you to be able to craft them if you do not win them in alotted time. So prize from cycle one won’t be available til cycle 2 to craft. This is great as it means you get a second chance at prizes.)

Several of the basic items you can make again and again, however the cost will go up each time of needed items. (There will be a plus sign next to the item that will increase.)

WHAT ABOUT THE PUMPKIN HOUSE AND SPOOKY HOUSE?
Once you have completed the tasks and unlocked ability to craft the Grand Pumpkin and Hugo, you will see the 2 houses linked. One to each one of them. Once you collect and create the The Grand Pumpkin (and complete the dialog for creating it), you will get the chance to create more of the Pumpkin Houses. Once you complete the Creation of Hugo (and part 5 of his quest), you will get the chance to create more Spooky Houses. Here is a basic idea of what it will take, but keep in mind…each additional build will require more and more candy items.

CRAFT Item Chocolate Bar Gummy Bear Pumpkin Broken Fence Rotten Egg Candy Corn
Pumpkin House * * 55 * 330 330
Spooky House 50 100 * 300 * *

WHAT ABOUT THE WEAPON BOARD W/NAIL?
The Weapon itself will continue to be upgradeable as you earn nails throughout the event. Each level will require more and more nails. So keep collecting them. Now I am sure you are wondering just what this does when you upgrade. It essentially widens the “Squish Zone” radius. So if you have multiple lil Rigellian Aliens close by, instead of squishing one you will get more than one. Each upgrade adds a bigger and bigger space of attack for you. Basically upgrading your Weapon is a good idea.

Weapon Nail and Board

So there you have it. A lot of really cool items intertwined into the event that allow YOU to decide what prizes and decorations YOU want in your town. What do you think of all this? Have you already crafted a lot of prizes? Are you having fun in the event so far? Any Trick or Treating tips you’d like to share with your fellow readers? Let us know below. 😉

  1. is any one else getting less aliens? less less eggs? I have noticed a major drop-off.

  2. Question regarding the Pumpkin house and Spooky House… If we missed them in previous years when they were originally released, we have to craft Hugo and The Great Pumpkin in order to then craft them if we want them? Just making sure I understand things right. I’ve only been playing for a few months, so a lot of things are still new to me! (Tho I’m definitely addicted! Lol)

    • Sorry, Grand Pumpkin… I knew it was something like that! Lol

    • Correct. They are both directly linked. Hugo to Spooky, Grand to Pumpkin. Once the first it brewed…the other will unlock for option to brew. I expect we will see the same when the Queen and hut hit too. 😉

      • What happens if you already have the Pumpkin house from last Halloween? If I craft the Grand Pumpkin will it unlock the option to craft another Pumpkin house?
Just curious if anyone has done this…

      • Is there something I have to do before crafting Hugo, though? I have enough of the correct materials, but I am only being shown the option to craft the Grand Pumpkin.

  3. I can’t find the rigelian queen at the make-a-thing workshop. Why?

  4. I am under the impression that each treat bag is *guaranteed* to contain certain items (Bronze: 1 each Broken Fence and Rotten Egg, Silver: 1 each Candy Corn and Gummi Bear, Gold: 1 each Candy Bar and Pumpkin). Is this no longer true, or are the odds posted reflective of the odds of getting things outside what is guaranteed?

  5. Quick (probably silly) question are the nails used for anything other than the weapon, ie once I have enough nails for an upgrade should I just go ahead and do it because there’s nothing better to do with them?
Great guides as always, keep up the good work 😀

  6. So far, I’ve gotten 4 donuts through treat boxes

  7. TechnoTrousers0

Thanks for making the list, it’s very informative! But I think the percentages listed for finding pumpkins are off. Based on how many I’ve found so far, I’d estimate it’s more like bronze 1, silver 10, gold 20.

    • Odds in games are tricky. (something we learned over our trip this past week) The odds are set in the system, however everything is setup on a curve and each game reacts differently. So some items will pay out more than the odds would appear to show, for some players, while other items will pay out as shown for different players. Which is why it truly is random…even with odds. So take the numbers your seeing with a grain of salt…

  8. Forgive me if this is a double post, I thought I asked this question but don’t see it in the list…could you let us know how the prizes figure into the conform o meter? Thanks!

  9. The very first quest, “Send youngsters trick or treating”, restarts every time I complete it. This has been happening since the update began and I can’t move on to any father quests as a result. It’s happening on both my iPad 2 and my iPhone 5S, and my sister is having the same problem. I reported it to EA on Saturday but nothing has changed as I haven’t received a response. Any ideas or suggestions?

  10. Why did Tapped Out stop with the Community Prizes? They were Great! They had them the last Halloween and Christmas Events.

  11. 3 pieces of spooky wall, 2 Rigellian shrubs and 1 ammo so far.
I’m hoping to get more ammo so I can get the donuts to buy the Ray Gun, which will give me more ammo 🙂

  12. Im so lucky… I apologise in advance. I got not one but 2 human test subjects in my prize bags!! 🙂 so keep it uuuuup.also for a diligent player like my self. Will there be any problems earning all prizes or not…very curious.

  13. From what I read through the hundreds of comments is that the craft items will stay until end of event but for item like Hugo, which I really want and very close to getting, are there possibility of getting it through the questlines in the 2nd or 3rd updates, or crafting is the only way to get them? I’m asking because there are craft items that can be won but I really dont know how to differentiate them. Thanks

    • Hugo, the Spooky House, The Pumpkin and the Pumpkin house can ONLY be awarded by crafting. So you have to craft those if you want them..the test subject and spooky wall can be won

      • boywithnoname83

Thanks!!! Already got Hugo and he’s napping in the simpsons house. Lol. Starting to collect broken fence from scratch again to craft the spooky house later.

  14. Knowing that there is a chance of getting the human test subject in a bag is helping me to be patient and not click that craft now button. Holding out to make Hugo instead. Thanks for that info.

    • I got THREE of them from Treat Bags. And I got 2 of the shrubs too!

So hang in there and save your treats for Hugo and the Pumpkin. I think your patience will be rewarded.

  15. Regellian queen isn’t on my craft list …. Did I miss out on something???? So as the shrubs

  16. Can’t believe after all these treats to craft grand pumpkin or Hugo and you need more to crafts and more!!!!!! Arrrr

  17. I must have missed this, is there an amount of aliens generated/max in town like the bunnies during Easter?

  18. I haven’t gotten any donuts from squishing aliens in friends towns and I’ve been hitting my limit on probes everyday… am I doing something wrong?

  19. Does anyone know how to kill the aliens in krustyland? Do you have to get to a certain weapon update?

  20. I got 6 spooky walls from goody bags, 3 from orange and another 3 from silver! I guess thats pretty lucky

  21. Are the craft items (when you click the trophy on the bottom of the page) going to change when the currency changes? Or, is it only the probe prizes (when you click the probe on the top of the page) going to change when the currency changes? Basically, are the craft items the entire Halloween or just a few more days and going to rotate?

  22. Is there a limit on the number of of treat bags or grem-alien eggs you can hold? Im trying to save them all up till the third part since the prizes cost more then. U.B.O 14, 900 long protein strings vs doughnut torture device 8, 050 probes

  23. I’m glad that the craftable items from this phase are still going to be available next phase. I’ve almost got Hugo but the Grand Pumpkin is going to take me some more time.

  24. Did they switch the odds of getting donuts from visiting friends? I have been getting about 3 donuts per day visiting friends and squishing their aliens (a bit higher than normal), however today I got 7 donuts just from visiting friends. The most I ever remember getting before was 4. Seems like it might be more likely than normal to get donuts for visiting your friends during Halloween.

  25. I have noticed when I open some of the treat bags, the items have stars around them. Do you know what this means. It looks to give you the same amount of item whether it is normal or special looking?

  26. Couple of ?s sorry I know they’ve been cover just can’t find them. Isn’t there something you can get to double the probes you receive? Also when does the good son quest start?

  27. I don’t know how rare this is, but yesterday I got THIRTY donuts from a UFO in another town. THIRTY!

  28. The chart shows “>1%” (“more than one percent”) for some items. Did you mean “<1%"?

  29. Just got an app store update. .. just glitch fixes again?

  30. William Bergheimer

My icon in the top right corner went to ! Last night and has stayed that way even though there are no more bags. Is this happening to anyone else?
