Trick or Treat Bag Goodies Make-A-Thing

Hey there Hoppereenos. Jumpin on in here with the breakdown of those fun lil trick or treat bags you send the lil kids out to collect for you. What goodies are inside? Any surprises? Keep on reading to find out.

So you send one of the many kids from Springfield out to get you a bag full of goodies, now what? Well the first thing you do is head on over to the Make-A-Thing shop and tap on it.

There is also a shortcut and notification on your main screen for this in the top right corner of your game. If you see an ! there, it means you have Treat Bags waiting to be opened. Tapping on the icon will immediate pop up the Craft Items screen for you.

Inside you will find a pop up list of items that will show you many items. Up top will be the total amount of Treat Bags that your kids have picked up. (If you have some you have not yet opened, they also will “wiggle” to get your attention. The items below will also prompt you to open the bags that you have not yet.)

Make A Thing Treat Bags Counts

In the main area you will see the many items you can currently craft. If you have collected enough items to create something the area will be highlighted in green and the icon “CRAFT NOW” will be ready to tap. Make sure you actually want this item, because once you tap “CRAFT NOW” all those items it required will be deducted from your total and taken away from being able to use on a separate item.  NOTE: IF YOU USE DONUTS TO SPEED UP THE PRIZE, ALL YOUR ITEMS WILL BE USED FOR IT ALSO.

Make A Thing Treat Bag Craft Item

At the bottom will be the item count area. This is where you can see what goodies you have collected so far and have left remaining to use to craft objects in the main area. Again, if you “CRAFT” an item, the amounts it required to make it will be deducted from these totals. The goodies are like money, once it is used it is gone.

Once you tap on one of the bags at the top, it will open and collect the items for you. The ingredients will add to your collection counts below. The “random prizes” will add to the locations they would normally show. Like Donuts to Donuts Count, Probes to Probe Count, and Items to Inventory Storage Box.

 

WHAT IS INSIDE THE TREAT BAGS?
There are 3 separate treat bags you can get from the kids, quests, shooting down the Rigellian UFO in your neighbors, and from squishing Rigellian Aliens. Here is the break down for each one.

WHAT ITEMS CAN YOU “CRAFT”?
Here are the items you can “CRAFT” at Make-A-Things. Keep in mind, many of these you need to complete quests, tasks, or other things to unlock the items first. Once unlocked, you can get the option to craft it. (Some will not unlock until the 2nd or 3rd cycle of prizes for you to be able to craft them if you do not win them in alotted time. So prize from cycle one won’t be available til cycle 2 to craft. This is great as it means you get a second chance at prizes.)

Several of the basic items you can make again and again, however the cost will go up each time of needed items. (There will be a plus sign next to the item that will increase.)

WHAT ABOUT THE PUMPKIN HOUSE AND SPOOKY HOUSE?
Once you have completed the tasks and unlocked ability to craft the Grand Pumpkin and Hugo, you will see the 2 houses linked. One to each one of them. Once you collect and create the The Grand Pumpkin (and complete the dialog for creating it), you will get the chance to create more of the Pumpkin Houses. Once you complete the Creation of Hugo (and part 5 of his quest), you will get the chance to create more Spooky Houses. Here is a basic idea of what it will take, but keep in mind…each additional build will require more and more candy items.

WHAT ABOUT THE WEAPON BOARD W/NAIL?
The Weapon itself will continue to be upgradeable as you earn nails throughout the event. Each level will require more and more nails. So keep collecting them. Now I am sure you are wondering just what this does when you upgrade. It essentially widens the “Squish Zone” radius. So if you have multiple lil Rigellian Aliens close by, instead of squishing one you will get more than one. Each upgrade adds a bigger and bigger space of attack for you. Basically upgrading your Weapon is a good idea.

So there you have it. A lot of really cool items intertwined into the event that allow YOU to decide what prizes and decorations YOU want in your town. What do you think of all this?     I have enough ingredients to craft pretty much everything … I have crafted one of each (pumpkin house, giant pumpkin, house) and have found multiple flowers, etc. in the bags …

    I am curious, what is everybody going to craft with their leftovers? Walls for the multiplier? Another house?

      I’ve managed to craft an additional 2 spooky houses and a hut. I’m hoping to craft a second pumpkin house but I’m not sure if I’ll make it. Any odds and ends I will use to make spooky walls (I’ve gotten tons of shrubs and test subjects but no walls since the first phase) since I could really use the multiplier as well. I have more gummy bears and eggs than I know what to do with…

    It’s taken me forever to collect enough chocolate bars for the Grand Pumpkin. When I was finally getting close I had to sacrifice a bunch in building the Rigellian huts 🙁 bummer.

    Can anyone tell me if its worth crafting the gold treat bag? Im behind on fences exspeciall after crafting hugo. But it takes fences to make it so any help on opinions would be great

    Is it possible to save these bags for next week? I am 150 short of this weeks last price and would like to save treat bags (atm. 74 bags) for next week, does it work or will game just reset my bags. Please anser this one 🙂

    Should I save chocolate bars and gummy bears for the Grand Pumpkin, or use them on the Spooky House? I already have a Pumpkin House from a previous year. I don’t want to run out before the event ends.

    When I was visiting my neighbors tonight I came past a friend who had the rigellian queen and the rigellian hut. I’ve searched every where but I can’t find that they have released it in the game yet.

    So, is it confirmed that nails can only be used for the weapon and are not used in anything else? I’ve been holding on to them because I’m afraid to spend them and finding out later that another item needs 100 of them

    I want to craft Hugo, and I saved up the materials, but I don’t have the option to craft him. I don’t want the Grand Pumpkin and DON’T have enough for it yet. Do I have to craft it first to unlock the option to craft Hugo?

    I have everything but Chocolate Bars to collect for the Grand Pumpkin and the same goes for the Spooky House with the exception of the Bars and Broken Fences. I’m shocked that I have more than enough Pumpkins, (although I do get one from last years house) but not enough Broken Fences. Oh well. Almost there.

    So, I understand that the craft items are not looking like they are going away, but with the required candy items change once we reach the 20th? I was able to craft Hugo and I am on part 4 of his quest and hope the complete part 5 to get the spooky house before the end of the first leg of the event, but will that option change? If I keep collecting the items needed for the grand pumpkin, can I still get that for the current candy costs? Or will these all change to premium items and cost donuts?

    Also, just a question, I have been playing since the event was released, but I am still only in the 7300 count on both of my towns, so I am not sure I’ll get to the required 8050 number of probes to get the donut torture device. Its very hard to collect all the probes even if playing every day multiple times a day. I’ll be bumbed if I don’t get it because it sounds like the homer task would be funny.

    I am liking this event and love it when Wiggum is being taken over by an alien and the hat is on top of the alien. So funny.

      The DtD will move to the Craftable items once it rotates out of Personal Prizes. So you will get a 2nd chance at it.

      As for the candy bags, we do not know what is going to happen until it goes live. There is nothing really showing they will or will not go away.

    Help!! I don’t have this Make a thing workshop.. how do I get it? I can’t buy it and it’s not in my inventory! What do I do? I have managed to start other Halloween quests though

      Well..that’s the way you kick off Halloween so if you don’t have it there’s no way you could be into Halloween. Do you have the icon in the top right?

    What the shrub? I can’t find it on my game. Is it triggered by something? I just updated the game in store tonight but still no shrubbery.

    Anyone else think Marge’s Walk Maggie mission should have been changed to take Maggie trick or treating. She’s a kid and should be able to collect bags as well. First this mission is the only way to see Maggie in the game (which is a shame she should be a playable character) now she gets left out of trick or treating. Poor kid. I feel bad for her.

    if you have the pumpkin house from the last THOH event already, it rewards a pumpkin candy thing when you collect.

    The alien Raygun thing rewards with UFO ammo.

    I very much appreciate getting little bonuses like this. Kind of rewards those who played and spent $ and are still playing.

    Hi there. As always I love the site, I’m a daily reader…ok multiple times a day reader. 😉 I’m not sure if this is somewhere within a post or a comment but I have searched with no success so…what do the spooky house and pumpkin house do? A quest? Do they spawn something every so many hours? Thanks so much for being so great and oh so patient!

    Hi, i already counted 8 donuts since the start of the event, unfortunately, my donut count is stuck. The 8 donuts didnt add to my donut count. Can you help me out please. Who should i contact. Thanks

    I feel so far behind! I have been playing since day one but I’m about 700 probes behind the recommended schedule and I am nowhere near unlocking the grand pumpkin. The Jack o lanterns in particular seem rare. I only have 75 toward the 300 needed. But I should be able to keep working on this even past Oct 20, right?

      Don’t panic on the probes. I’m behind too and finding that I’m starting to catch up (I was about 1500 behind on Monday because we were traveling). You still have 5 days to get them…just be diligent with your tapping…and remember worst case, you can still craft the prizes after the 20th if you don’t win them.
      As far as the other items, crafting items, they should still be there after the 20th 🙂

    Hey trick or treating on some characters has jumped from 8 hours to 14 hrs WTF ???? Also here is a tip, I put all non trick or treat characters on 24 hr tasks so they don’t get in the way of the kids.

    Do the craft-able items such as “The Grand Pumpkin” and “Human Test Subject” become unavailable after the first phase or do they last throughout the whole event?

      They should be around for the whole event. We’re not seeing any timers linked to them..however we won’t know for sure until phase 1 is complete.

    Where are the gremlins and the eggs!? last two day I have only managed to get 12 eggs total. Also, the number of gremlins I can squish has dwindled to next to nothing. Just watching my name slip down the leaderboard. Wouldn’t be so annoying if it wasn’t for my wife getting three times as many as me.
