  1. To Julie and MaryJo…..how are you doing? Not sure you’ll pop in and read this post, hope you do. My son is now playing, he started a couple weeks ago and I posted his name in the add friends feed. He’s in my list to visit now and he couldn’t believe my town, apparently I need to work more hours as I seem to have lots of time to attend to my town. Too funny….

Anyway, hope all is well with you both. Thank you MaryJo for the egg drop today! I’ve been visiting you as well throughout the game…

    Hugs,
    Val

    • Hi Val, I posted at the beginning of this week’s thread, but think it got lost after all the other posts….certainly a lot of them this week.
I don’t have any room in my big town or my son’s town, but I do in my smaller nonnajayJL town if your son wants to send an invite there.
I have a date for my surgery now…25th Nov. so I am trying to organise myself for that…I suddenly realised yesterday…I won’t be able to make my bed!! My daughter is thinking of making a 3hr trip up each week to strip and remake my bed for me! Lol…I told her definitely not! I’m sure I can find someone here in town to feel very sorry for me and come to do it. Funny girl.
Funny your son telling you that you have too much time on your hands….Mike said the same to me! Lol his partner is also playing the game and Mike said Miranda took one look at my town and accused me of using donuts! Lol. She was out bush on an army exercise and when she got back, I’d blitzed her town so now it’s war between us! Lol great fun.
Take care of yourself Sweetpea….love and laughter, Julie.

      • Hi Julie, thank u for the lovely email. I am writing back to u in my head and will get it in the mail soon. U have so many things for me to think about when u write that I keep going back to it and rereading all u say so i don’t miss anything. So glad to hear u have your surgery set up. I pray all goes well. It is cooling down here and I am loving it. Now I need to put my iPad down and start taking my dogs for their walk everyday again. Was doing that until I fractured my shoulder. Had to take time to heal and then it seemed to always be in the 100s outside. Perfect weather now. Wendell is almost back to where he was before he stopped eating. Next week we go to see his doctor and I am pretty sure he will not need the walker. Praise the LORD!!!! I will read your email one more time and get a responds back to u. Take care, sweet lady. Mary Jo

      • Hi Mary Jo….so pleased to hear that Wendell is doing so brilliantly! You must be singing in your sleep over that! Lol. No worries with the email…I understand we all have lives to live away from this wee contraption….I understand, but that doesn’t mean I LIKE it! Lol. You’re cooling down and we are heating up like crazy! So unheard of to have heat like this in our spring! I am really dreading summer now. Still no storms for us yet so they will be ‘caulkers’ when they do hit, I think.😱
I am amazed at everyone getting tagged now….so far, touch wood, I haven’t been, but then I have a lot of fantastic neighbours. 😘 I guess time will tell tho, as some haven’t started tapping again yet, after the Halloween event finished. I am with you there…it did seem rather lonely not knowing if anyone had been to visit or not.
I am in the middle of redoing my main town so be prepared to see major changes there. …the taggables are still up in no man’s land tho! Lol…maybe that is why I haven’t gotten painted thus far…and like you, I will give the benefit of the doubt if it does happen….especially after the horrible time when I reacted too fast with Lin when his phone was giving him grief…so pleased he and I are still neighbours…I have promised myself in future to give the dear moderators time to get thru all the day’s comments before acting so I can see if any messages come up to say they were accidents. (And I hope you moderators are able to sit back and relax at least a little now between events! You all work so hard and we are so grateful for all you do! Big hugs to you all)
Well Mary Jo, my dear I shall make like a tree and leaf!!…yes well!! Lol..leave then!
Love and laughter as always, Julie.

    • Hi Val, u r welcome for the drop. Lol. Let me know your son’s ID. I have room in a couple of my towns. My husband is getting stronger and can walk without holding on to everything. Also, has gotten where he is asking for something to eat. Thank GOD! Thinking of taking him to the store with me and he can push the cart around. Keep him moving. The Halloween event was fun, but now it seems like people r actually coming to visit. It is a funny feeling because I know people were coming by, but i couldn’t see them. Lol. Also, have gotten a few spray cans. Waiting to delete because it is all new again and accidents do happen. How r u doing? U have had a hard thing to deal with. Take care, Mary Jo

  2. Rah21 (RebeccaA21)

I got the final prize today And I got to see my bad dream house have really cool animation for the first time since I bought it. So excited!!! Now all I need is more eggs so I can build a ton more Spooky Walls.(I have enough to build at least 7 more with the pumpkins and candy corn)

  3. game is crashing for 2dats now’ impossible to play!’ they really should fix that it’s @!#% up!!’

    • Have you tried some basics for crashing n laggin?

Store items to take down the amount of coding needed to run your town. Store away NPC items so they are not taking memory space. Keep most characters not needed on indoor tasks to help. Try to clear out some space on your device. Make sure nothing else is running in background of your device. Check for corrupted files by clear cache/data, uninstall app, restart device, reinstall app, log back into your Origin account for the game and try again.

I keep checking the Simpsons tapped out Facebook page hoping for some sort of announcement of what is causing the delay in the mutate task unlocking for the meeting bunny but nothing new has been posted to the Facebook page since yesterday is there anywhere else were EA might make an official announcement with what’s going on with the Simpsons tapped out

  5. Best. Crossover. Ever! I love and miss Futurama. It was funny, and a joy to watch. It felt good to see all the characters again. At least I can revisit them on Netflix.

  6. It kind of bugs me to hear people gripe about the event prizes, etc. Why are you playing the game in the first place? What are you trying get out of playing the game? It’s just a freakin’ game! You either like to play, or you don’t. EA gives everyone lots of options on how to play. You can play freemium, premium, or something in between. You can tap all day long or, once or twice a day. It’s your choice. If you’re not happy with the game anymore, then maybe move on to something else. But please don’t rain on my parade. I still love the game. I earned all of the prizes, and then some, and I didn’t have to pay any money, nor tap 24/7. In fact, it has been my experience, that EA has designed these events in such a way that if you play the game wisely, then all of the prizes can be earned.

    • You were either very lucky or at a high level with lots of kids unlocked for trick or treating. The event really isn’t well balanced for mid-level players, and is virtually impossible for low level players. They could learn a lot from TinyCo and improve their events greatly for all players. Also, most of the pay items are clearly way superior to many of the winable/craftable items in this event, which is a shame. It would have been so cool to at least have an option of winning or crafting count burns, or the kang ride, or the steampunk space ship, or elvira, or witch marge, etc. instead we get bulldozersaurus, a hover copter and a diet sign and spooky walls..meh…the others are fairly cool, but if you don’t have enough kid characters unlocked, there’s little hope of getting more than a couple of them.

    • L M ….. I’m with you on that! I’ve received all the prizes earlier today and I never bought any license, ray gun, etc. I tapped away and played to have fun because after all…it’s a game!

  7. **All I Want for Simpsons XMas**

    1) Send All Button! (Ex: send everyone on 8 hr task)

    Thats pretty much it.

  8. I’ve been trying to decide if I want to get the donut torture device or the grand pumpkin and the spooky house, I’m wondering what other users would recommend?

    • Do you want to see Homer stuff his face with donuts? Or do you want to see Milhouse hang with the pumpkin looking like Linus from Charlie Brown?

    • The donut device adds a 1.5 day (36 hour) task to Homer and a the pumpkin is an animated decoration (when you tap it) plus a 20-hour task for Milhouse.

From a logistical viewpoint, if you’re checking your TSTO town in-frequently, I would suggest the donut machine. You can leave Homer there for the long-term payout. If you’re tapping more regularly, I would suggest the Grand Pumpkin and the house. It won’t tie up Homer (who’s most used for quests and interactive tasks), you can tap the pumpkin for a quick smile, and the house will probably give out cash after halloween (it currently gives out a halloween bag).

It was fun to see Homer in the device, but I’ve only used it the one time since it’s such a long time (especially for Homer who’s most used for questlines), and I’ve been tapping a couple of times a day during Halloween.

      My opinion.

  9. Still cannot mutate my rabbit ahh well

  10. My own overall feelings today…
    – I hadn’t realized how nostalgic I felt about Futurama until last night. 30 minutes seemed like far too short an episode, and I sympathized totally with Zoidberg: “This is my turn to speak, and it’s already over, gone now forever more.” (Something along those lines anyway.) There may be a Futurama binge in my near future…

    – As for the TSTO Halloween event, while I was very glad to see no “Wheel of Frustration,” and the phased roll-out of prizes was a cool idea, I think EA dropped the ball in some important ways:
    (1) The prizes themselves kinda suck for the most part, except for Hugo. But the ones won through probes and such? Three NPCs (Peacock, ‘Dozer and Drone), one animated decoration (DIE(t) sign), one task-enabled decoration (donut torture device) and one skin (UBO).

    (2) Even the crafted prizes were lame, again excepting only Hugo. A Giant Pumpkin with one Milhouse task and one animation. A Rigellian queen with one task and one animation. Prizes that could be found in treat bags anyway — the walls, shrubs, and human test subjects.

    (3) Yes, the theoretical maximum number of squished aliens would be just over the amount needed to win the three end-phase prizes — but most people either can’t or don’t want to have to log in every 4-5 hours just to squish. (Logging in twice a day? You wouldn’t make it. ) Also, one bronze bag for the Spooky House, one pumpkin from the Pumpkin house and three aliens for each Rigellian Hut every 24 hours was ridiculous. It was like, “Go ahead and build these, but they won’t give you any particular advantage.”

    (4) And crafted item ingredients that were absurd, esp. given there was never any way to acquire large numbers of broken fences other than in bronze treat bags and nowhere else, not even in the store. But also far too many crafted things depended on candy corn and candy bars in large quantities.

    (5) Getting to craft previous phase prizes was priced cruelly. 200 fences, not so bad, but 500 candy corn AND 500 candy bars to make the Donut Torture Device or Hover-Copter? That was just mean. There it was like, “Sure, you can make these, but don’t plan on crafting anything else in the list.”

    (6) They totally f’d up by not having a “Confirm Crafting” button. Lots of people lost ingredients due to nothing but an errant screen tap.

To EA’s credit? Putting a bunch of previous years’ Halloween items in the store. I was happy about that.

Basically, in my opinion, I think EA had a few good ideas… and damaged their execution of the event with a whole bunch of bad ones. Most of all making it so that only the most obsessive players* or those who got lucky with a stuck face-alien glitch were the ones who were able to win everything. (* = Yes, I counted myself among these, but the other mistake EA made was in risking player burn-out. I logged in to my B-game late last night, in what looks like an increasingly futile hope to get to UBO before the end, and said to myself, “Why the heck am I doing this? This is becoming the opposite of fun.”)

With all the Meta going on right now about ‘freemium’ games, it almost made me wonder if the EA developers had seen advance screenings of South Park’s episode last week and said, “Oh right — we forgot: The game needs to be just short of being actually fun.”

    • Correction: The drone is just another animated decoration, not an NPC. So corrected, it’s 2 NPCs, 2 animated decorations, and one decoration with a task (donut machine) and one skin.

      • Thank you Becca 🙂 Your main post sums up the issues in a nutshell. I would only add that EA needs to remember that not everyone can check their game while at work or sleeping — during most of the event I could only tap aliens twice or three times each day. People with jobs buy donuts, so EA should respect us more.

I did get Witch Marge, which I really wanted, so for that I am thankful.

After the current round, I’ll have two rounds of trick-or-treating left, so the chances of getting anything else that’s meaningful are pretty close to zero unless I get the alien/face glitch or something similar. Also, I’m about 3,000 protein strands away from UBO, so that’s not going to happen either, even if all my neighbors drop grem-alien eggs on me.

EA seems to really like the random chance crud — they just rename it to prevent immediate rejection when they put it back in the game. Does anybody remember the post at the start of Halloween where somebody said something like “not a wheel of chance in sight” — I guess nobody realized how random the treat bags would be.

        >-I

    • Yeah…. There’s something wrong when I read a comment from someone who’s setting her alarm for 3:00 am so she can squish some aliens. I managed to get to the end prize for probes and ray guns, and it looks like I’ll make it to UBO, but I don’t know how lower-level players who may only have four or five kids, no SVT, and not enough donuts to get Witch Marge, could possibly get to the end of those phases. I think CoC was much fairer in that regard. And I agree that most of the prizes were underwhelming. However, and this is a big “however,” it was great to have the opportunity to win some serious donuts from those UFOs! (One question about that though… It’s out just me, or have they stopped giving out ammos these last couple of days? I usually would get at least one or two a day, but, for the past three days, nada, even though I’ve been getting about 35-40 treat bags a day!)

      • Sounds like you got lucky…only saw ammo every couple of days at best, got maybe 10 donuts total from the event, and at best half that number of treat bags..currently at lvl 31.

    • Totally agree…except the candy corn…I wish I could give someone the over 400 candy corn that are completely worthless…and since I’ll only (with the help of all of my donuts) be able to craft either the queen or the grand pumpkin my giant shortfall in fences and candy bars will lead to a surplus of over 400 candy corn, and 300 eggs …oh and probably 250 candy bars, 350 pumpkins, and 350 gummies since I doubt I’ll have the donuts to finish the grand pumpkin…none of which will be good for crafting anything without more fences except for those stupid spooky walls. They really need some kind of candy exchange, it feels like a lot of effort was spent for nothing.

  11. Matthew b Lawler

It is now 2 PM central and I still cannot you take my rabbit has anyone had this unlocked for them yet

  12. Sorry somehow posted twice wasn’t showing that first had gone thru lol

  13. Hi ther does any1 no if I can tonight episode on catch up or is it played later on any other channel I have sky want to see tonight’s episode

  14. Hi ther does any1 no if I can tonight episode on catch up or is it played later on any other channel I have sky I’m actually watching simpsons right now on sky 1 but want to see tonight’s episode

  15. Mobile “freemium” games certainly got roasted this week by our cartoons. I’m sure most of this community caught Homer’s description to Bender about Freemium games (shocked no blatent TSTO plug!). Not sure if others caught South Parks whole episode on freemium addiction (including the donut easter egg?).

    Thoughts on the roast?

Anyone else as addicted as Stan (if so, get help! Not all of us have Lorde as a father to bail out our $23K debt on “Freemium” games!)

  16. Thanks for this blog and everything you do for us. This is first place I check for information and it’s always proven very helpful. I have a small problem that just came out with the phase 3 launch for me and can’t find it posted anywhere. When tapping, my phone sometimes goes into a zoom mode that I can’t exit, I can only exit game to fix. I’m just tapping normally so no idea how I got into zoom mode as I’m not holding my finger and the “edit” menu isn’t launched either. Anything I try to do will only zoom in or out. The only functional key is my back button at this point. Any tips on how I can exit zoom without quitting the game?

    • Others have stated this…thing is each device is different so the best I can offer is look up your exact device owners manual and check to see how your zoom features on it work.

      • Thanks very much Bunny. I can confirm from my side this seems to be a bug for me. If anyone else has this problem, only way I can find to exit zoom so far is to exit game. Other than pinching, double tap is the only other way to zoom with my Samsung. Double tap seems to be disabled in this game for zoom, and the way to exit zoom mode is the back button (which will launch the quit menu).

    • I also have this happen to me a handful of times. I play on a kindle fire. It never happened before, it started sometime after the Halloween update.

    • Look for Accessibility options for your device — many devices have these features for the visually impaired, and when they get turned on by accident, it can be very annoying and frustrating trying to figure out what the device is doing and why.

  17. I have a question, my mutant rabbit’s mutate task is still locked, I’m doing the Matt Groening quest, I think Homer is hiring writers right now, I need to finish Matt Groening’s quest to unlock mutate??

  18. Matthew b Lawler

Not sure if it’s the right place for the supposed guy really can’t find any other current post that it would apply to I bought them eaten rabbit it is now November 10 which is when the mutate option is supposed to unlock but I still cannot mutated still tells me requires November 10 so all I can continue to do is multiply the rabbit is food please tell me what I’m doing wrong

  19. I have noticed something weird with the wifi at work. I can get into Family Guy without any problems what so ever, but whenever I try to log in to TSTO I get a Bart screen. Does TSTO require a stronger connection or something? I have been tempted to get TSTO on my phone, but am scared to due my phone liking to randomly open and play games on it’s own. I am afraid it will blow all my donuts on me.

  20. I never publish on here, I just like to see what is being said but what bunny, wookie and others do should not be taken for granted so when it says “Sunday night open thread” I have zero issue with whatever anyone posts as long as it is polite and curidoius so being rude is not cool with me, so when someone posted somthing hatful, not cool, I give a nod to bunny for being polite after seeing a rude comment

  21. After reviewing the calendar, it seems my little trip out of state & out of the game didn’t set me back nearly as much as I thought it did. I still doubt I’ll make it without spending donuts (failure is not an option, I NEED the UBO), but hopefully it won’t be as much as I had originally expected it to be.

Other than that, I’m kinda ready for this event to end as I have everything else and finished the main questlines. However, I will also miss tapping on whatever I want in my own town, always being able to get my full daily taps from neighbors, and yes, the tree colors. About that last one, it’d be nice if they carried it through to Xmas.

  22. Hey guys. How come neighbours have been tapping on my buildings? I didn’t think that was happening in the Halloween event? Confused girl from the uk lol.

  23. Loved the billboard in the background for the Canyonero SUV Hybrid – now 11 miles to the gallon!

  24. I have over 1200 Gummy Bears treats and have no use for them. The only things that uses them in my craft-a-thing inventory are the Spooky House which I already have one and don’t see the need to have duplicates and the Human Test Subject which I already have six of them (never crafted a single one, they were all ‘won’ in treat bags). I wish there was a way to exchange them for other treats for crafting.

  25. Love the game, love the first 13 or so seasons of Simpsons but I seriously hate cross overs and imo now the Simpsons is no better than family guy. Which is one of the worst shows I think. However I am loving this event, it has a good balance to me, earnable prizes and donut items. Good balance of stuff to keep you occupied without dragging on like clash of clans event did for me. I really liked how they managed to stagger the ability to earn prizes so people couldn’t rush a head. As long as they don’t do any game crossover I will keep tapping out and watching all my reruns! Speaking of, I am having surgery tomorrow and the bright spot is I now have an excuse to set all my people to hour tasks and constantly check up on them. At least for the next 2 weeks while I’m couch bound. Woot!

  26. Bunny, I meant to ask when I posted earlier…have you bounced back to your funny bunny self yet? I know the residuals of a 104 fever can last awhile. 🙁

  27. I loved the episode tonight. It reminds me how much I miss futurama. Also I like in this event how you can clear all of the money from all buildings without having to worry about not having anything for your neighbors to tap.

  28. Laid in bed, ill and feeling sorry for myself, this event has helped me through. I can proudly say that I have unlocked all of the prizes, with the help of my neighbours, of course, specially SPOOKIEJENKINS , who have generously sent me his grem-aliens! Thank you!

Thank you, TEAM, for the info and tips! Looking forward to the next event!

  29. BTW, this is supposed to be a thread about SUNDAY in general. Read: The Simpsons Sunday episode. In one of their best episodes in a loooooong time….you people are more worried about how many aliens to squish in order to get A and B. Which proves this: this board and site is for those people who are easy to manipulate. Most TSTO players aren’t real Simpson fans, or real gamers.

    • Well that was cruel and harsh. Many just speak on what is forefront in their minds. For many that may be the game. If you do not like what others write, does not mean you need to attack other readers for not fitting your mold or saying what you think they should. Be respectful. Kindness goes a long way. This IS a site mainly about the game. If you do not like it, you are welcome to move on. Any further “troll” or “abusive” comments will find their proper place…and it is NOT on the posts. 😉

      • I also Thot that was a Harsh Remark!! This is suppose to be a fun place!!! :). stepingstair … :).

      • Some never learned “if you don’t have anything nice to say, shut your mouth”…or something like that. 😉 It’s no wonder the world is the way it is, some people are just mean for no apparent reason. We should all take note from UBO and spread lots of love and peace!

    • Uncalled for really I thought it was a Sunday night thread because it happens on a Sunday………which is why I don’t joining as its now Monday…….

    • I wonder if Ralphie meant to say, My diaper is full!

The actual official description of this thread is: Here’s where you can talk about anything you want to talk about…TSTO Related, Simpson’s Related or ANYTHING. Following this are suggestions for possible topics. This site does a thread every week the exact same way.

The blog itself is about a game sometimes known as TSTO, so most posts are about the game. The game relates to an animated TV show, so some posts are about that show. The thread gets started anew on Sunday evenings, so a few posts are about events of the day. There’s even an occasional post about completely random things.

      Here: have a burrito. :burrito:

  30. And on a happier note, I just got an email from my publisher. The first copy of my book has been sold in the UK. I am now an INTERNATIONAL writer! Wuhoo!
