I swear sometimes I think EA has tracking devices on Bunny, Wookiee and I. They always seem to wait till we’re not right next to our computers to hit us with an update!
Anyway…let’s see what Level 47 has it store for us shall we?

As mentioned above…Mayor Quimby starts things off for us. You’ll be tasked with building the Quimby Compound..only $1,000,000! (actually that’s a decent price break considering how expensive the other buildings have been) and it’ll take 24hrs.
And the Quimby Compound unlocks…Freddy Quimby!
Here’s the rundown for all the Level 47 Goodies…
First of all…you’ll notice Halloween is still lingering. Not sure what’s up with that, but you can still craft you just can’t win the prizes. (Note…some players are reporting you can still win the prizes when you hit that prize point. They’re just not shown. So try to continue to squish Rigellians and see if you can hit that next prize!)
Freemium:

Quimby Compound– $1,000,000, 24hr Build. Unlocks Freddy Quimby. Earns $300, 30xp/24hrs. 5×15
Decorations
Rat Trap Delivery Truck- $150,000. Improves Obedience.
Characters

Florence of Arabia- 175 Donuts. Earns $135, 15xp/4hrs. Requires Level 27. Comes with Princess Kashmir. 6×10.

Hi, has anyone else just received an in-game update that has made the game unstable? There are lags and stutters when collecting cash and sending characters on tasks. Parts of the screen keep flashing and glitching too. Please don’t let this be another Eastergate disaster?!

I know something hit yesterday to fix a bunch of random glitches…I haven’t noticed anything with my game as far as lagging (other than the usual)…anyone else?
Yes, I am experiencing the same lag when collecting money and sending people on tasks. It’s very annoying but I’m trying to look on the bright side, at least it’s not kicking me out -because I’ve been down that road before (for two months straight with NO help from EA) so between the two I’ll take the lag.
Thanks for letting us know Kyle. It’s always good to know you’re not the only person experiencing an issue as hopefully that means enough people will contact EA that we get a fix.
Alissa, I know you guys would anyway (as you’re awesome!!) but if this issue comes up more and more in comments would you consider a separate glitch post so there is somewhere central for people to discuss it?
Lagging is an ongoing thing we discuss all the time. It is all over the site. Many things can be a factor in it. Most of the time, it is due to the specific players device and/or game. So how YOU play.
Lagging/Crashing causes…
*Bad or Poor WiFi signal
*Not enough space on device to allow for proper play (Mine takes at LEAST 2GB)
*Too much “stuff” in your game. Like too many decorations/buildings, all causing a memory drain. Each lil item adds to the amount of memory that is needed for it to show in your game
*Too many characters outside walking around. Another memory drain. Try to keep characters on inside tasks as much as possible and store any NPC that you dont care for to also help with memory drain.
*Bad/Corrupted file. Clear cache/data, uninstall app, restart device, reinstall app, then log back into game to see if difference.
*Too many OTHER apps running on your device. It can only handle so many, so shut down anything else running before launching the game.
If all this does not help, contact EA for further evaluation. 🙂
Um, I got rid of Halloween as soon as I could, but just got this push message: “Rigellians are taking over your Springfield. Think of the children!”
lol that happens from time to time…about a week after Halloween ends it should be back to normal.

You can make your own airport, I used El Chemistri as the building, and some yellow cones lined up over asphalt as a runway. Works just fine!

I built a small airstrip (don’t want to use too much land) by Up Up Buffet and I plan to put the Little Black Box there too.
How do you level up quickly? It takes me about a month to level up. Is there a secret to it or am I just slow?
It all depends on what you buy, how you play, how many characters you have, etc.
Just out of curiosity, how much money (real life money) has everybody spent on this game? I’ve been playing a week before COC and have spent $33 thus far

I’m pretty sure it’s in the hundreds mark, I know when I used to play I spent just over £200 pounds on donuts for some pixels lol..ridiculous right? Imagine what else you could so with that money hence why I quit during Halloween and forced myself to miss out on kl prizes. I work so wasn’t that big a deal as was something I enjoyed at the time but if you no longer enjoy the game then defo keep your paper mayn
I’ve dumped 80 dollars into the game and I’m at 3 years of playing. The key is to get a discounted iTunes or Google play card, wait for a Gil deal for discounted or extra doughnuts and buy once a year maximizing the boatload of doughnuts purchase. Then be picky about what you buy and when. I typically only buy for Halloween (my favorite season!) and Christmas events. I still haven’t gone through my 80 dollars. I used to play World of Warcraft at 15/month so I just figure I’m paying for behind the scenes development work of new content. However if you watch a recent Southpark episode they liken this game to addiction to video games or alcohol because what you buy really has not value. For me, I find it entertaining and well that’s that. In Southpark he racked up over 10grand in game purchases. That’s crazy but not realistic with this game. The game does have a huge profit margin but it’s pretty solid overall. Plus it’s Simpsons branding, not some unknown universe.
I would say about £25 (UKP). I have been playing just over 18 months, but didn’t spend a penny in my first 6-8 months of playing. Then the lure of donuts got too much! But I limit myself to 60 donuts a month max, and I’ve sworn off them altogether until January (too many real life expenses!)

I bought the clumsy French waiter right away. 50 donuts for a full pc ( though not necessarily a cool one), is only outdone by the SVT, I saved 90 donuts in game to get Dr. Nick and passed to get the waiterand save the rest. If you use the free donuts like me, he’s a fantastic grab allowing you to retain donuts for later. Cash wise it’s only 5 bucks for him and a golden homer with a few to spare. Either way I believe it’s one of the best deals the game has to offer.

Well, it looks like EA’s had it with us Halloween hangers-on. I had been trying to get a few more of the prizes since there was no new event, but I just logged on and a message said something to the effect that I needed to update in order to continue. Booo!!!
I miss the murky water and darkened edges of the screen. I like the Fall trees as well. If there was an option to keep the halloween theme permanently, or make it like a skin for the whole town that you could toggle, I’d do it.

Does the French Waiter come with his own quest Line? Also i have some how started the main level 47 quest line, but I am still stuck in the holloween event. I thought for you do start level 47 main quest line, the halloween event had to end.
Yes, but it’s very short.
Halloween will only disappear if you download the newest update from the app store. Otherwise no you don’t need to clear Halloween to start Level 47
I too spend $100 every two months.
It helps to defray the costs for people who can’t afford it. Instead of being “Ermagerd! A hunert whole dollhairs!!!”, why not just thank us for helping to keep them developing new content and keeping the servers running for you?

Patch…force others out of Halloween. Fix glitches with the payout issue on huts. Etc.
In game update cleared the repeat payout from halloween buildings. 🙁 Do people actually report these favorable glitches or does EA read everyone’s comments on Tsto websites? What a bummer!
I can tell you EA reads this site…A LOT. But they also play the game themselves…so they see these glitches.

Yes withthe update I automatically went to level 47.
Keep in mind, the # at the bottom is your XP Level. The questlines/walkthroughs are your Game Play Levels. Game Play Levels will determine what quest pops up next.

I got my Krustyland people back but they don’t seem to be earning tickets anymore. Is everyone seeing that? They seem to appear only when I enter Krustyland just like playable characters do rather than being “active” while I am out of Krustyland.

The jig is up. EA just released an update that fixed the Halloween houses glitch. It was good while it lasted.
My game just forced updated again and they fixed the glitch.
They took it away! At least I milked it for a few thousand though!

Thanksgiving stuff doesn’t usually come until the week of, or a little before Thanksgiving. In the past it’s been a smaller, almost episode tie-in kinda update. So, we’ll probably see an update with parade balloons in a week or so.

I believe I have discovered a glitch in the game. I’m a Level 47 player on Adroid, and I have noticed that the Halloween decorations that generate game cash are automatically “resetting” after you visit Krustyland or your “neighbors” page. If you want to make some quick game cash, simply position your spooky houses, pumpkin houses, and Rigellian tribal huts together (preferably near the center of your town)… And then you can switch back and forth to quickly earn game cash!

How can people afford to be “completists”? You could spend hundreds and hundreds of dollars. I wonder how much people actually spend on this game on average.
Hi there. For your information, I throw 50-100$ every 1-2 months, BUT TSTO is the only game I play at the moment. Seems to be a lot of money, but at a certain point, there is not much stuff to buy in cash shop. With yhis update, if you buy everything, 275 donuts, you will have to spend 20-30$. It’s not that bad. Plus, you don’t need to buy everything. For sure I will buy Florence of Arabia and French waiter cause they are funny carachters.

I’m freemium all the way. I guess if you’re willing to spend the cash, then go for it. But that’s not for me. I like the challenge of earning everything though play.

Lol…Not really. Most movies are at least $10 a person. Then if you get drinks n popcorn…like another $15. If you have dinner, that can run $20 a person at least. So it adds up fast.

I’m sorry. I just don’t get it. Did any of you watch South Park or the last Simpsons episode? EA is laughing all the way to the bank. I think there is a difference between being addicted to the game, and being addicted to the game and spending $$$$$$$ every month. No offense, but this is akin to a gambling addiction, but perhaps even worse, because there’s no chance for a cash payout with TSTO.
To each their own. If it brings you joy to spend the dough, then go for it.
I do not mind spending money to keep a game in business. Paying their employees, the writers, the graphic designers, the editors, the copyright lawyers, on n on n on n on. Without SOMEONE paying into the game, the game would not exist.
Why should it matter though? People spend money collecting toys, cars, actions figure, stamps, art. On TVs, game systems, movies, posters, clothes, shoes, sports gear, sports games, etc. Everyone has their OWN way of what makes them happy to spend money on. Just do what makes YOU happy. Allow others to do the same. 🙂
Wholeheartedly agree with Bunny on this one. That’s not to discount the fact that there are people who are irresponsible with their finances who really can’t afford the things that they buy, but do so anyways (there are plenty examples spanning plenty of products and services for this, though). But, there are those that spend “big money” on things such as this because they can afford it. It’s not in excess of their budget because entertainment costs are reasonably determined, and this (or any other “freemium” game) is included under this entertainment category. Fact of the matter with true “freemium” (not including games that are free that the developers like to think are “freemium” but which really aren’t) games is that they are high quality, and quality doesn’t come cheap. It’s not a charity, and they don’t owe you anything. If you enjoy it and think they’re doing a great job, there should be no issue with shelling out cash to the devs in the interest of compensation. To paraphrase Bart “They’ve given you [hours upon] hours of entertainment for free. What could they possibly owe you? If anything, you owe them.”
We watch tv without cost (except lost time watching ads. Unless, of course, if you record and watch later-skipping the commercials).
I’m sorry if I hit a raw nerve with my point of view. It’s none of my business if you want to pay $1200 a year for cartoon buildings and characters. But can’t you see why I would be even a little bit shocked? I’m happy for those of you who find THAT much joy from this game.
