With 1 week to go until Thanksgiving here in the US…it’s Turkey Time in Springfield! A little Thanksgiving Update has hit our Tapping Devices this morning…
More details as we go through them…but it should auto-start with some dialogue between Homer and Flanders…
(FYI if you don’t see it immediately…try hard closing and restarting TSTO. Sometimes that helps to trigger it)

WARNING MILD SPOILERS AHEAD….
First up, as mentioned above, some dialogue will be started between Homer and Flanders….
Homer: Thanksgiving! The high holiday of gorging! Uncluttered with Yule logs, Easter egg hunts, flag saluting or the yoinking out of groundhogs.
Flanders: It’s also a time for solemn prayer and giving thanks to Our —
Homer: Stuff it, Flanders! Like every holiday, the turkey season combines my three favorite things — Eating, quests and prizes.
Flanders: But do you have any idea what day comes AFTER Thanksgiving?
Homer: LEFTOVERS DAY!
Flanders: I was talking about Black Friday.
Homer: Martin Luther King Day?
Flanders: You really are clueless. Looks like I’m going to have to educate you in the mannor of Miles Flandish.
Miles Flandish: One-two, buckle my shoes! Three four Pilgrim-ize some more!
At this point you’ll get Puritan Flanders (he’ll be in your Inventory..and this is a skin for Ned) for FREE!!
If you don’t already have her, you will also be giving Sacagawea Lisa (returning from last Thanksgiving) for FREE as well! (She’ll also be in your Inventory…and is a Skin for Lisa).
Now let’s take a look at the rest of the Turkey Day Goodies!
New Stuff:
Unfortunately…beyond Puritan Flanders all the new Stuff of this Thanksgiving is Premium. Here’s the break down of what’s new:
Piggly’s Super Smorg- 140 Donuts. Earns $135, 15xp/4hrs. Comes with Jacqueline Bouvier (FINALLY)
Caged Tom Turkey- 100 Donuts. Earns 3% bonus on all cash and xp.
Heimlich Machine- 60 Donuts. Earns 2.5% bonus on all cash and xp.
Now for what’s returning from Thanksgiving 2012 and 2013…
Returning stuff…
Rusty the Clown Balloon- $5,400
Blinky Balloon- $16,500
Santa’s Little Helper Balloon- $30,000
Snowball II Balloon- 15 Donuts. Earns 0.50% bonus on all cash and xp.
The Grumple Balloon- 25 Donuts. Earns 2% bonus on all cash and xp
Stampy Balloon- 40 Donuts. Earns 2% bonus on all cash and xp.
ALL BALLOONS improve your Vanity Rating..
Caesar’s Pow-Wow Casino- 150 Donuts. Earns $200, 22xp/ 8hrs. Comes with Tribal Chief.
Caesar’s Pow-Wow’s Casino Sign- 40 Donuts. Earns 2% bonus on all cash and xp.
The Mayflower- 100 Donuts. Earns 3% bonus on all cash and xp.
Characters:
Tribal Chief- Comes with Caesar Pow Wow’s.
Jacqueline Bouvier- Comes with Piggly’s Super Smorg.
After you complete part 3 of the Thanksgiving questline & start part 4, you’ll be awarded a FREE Cornucopia! (again it’ll be in your inventory) Then you’ll be able to purchase more, if you so choose. But it won’t appear in your store until after you’ve gotten the free one.
Cornucopia- Earns 0.50% bonus on all cash and xp. You can also purchase more for 15 Donuts.
At this point…the questline will be stalled until Monday 11/24, when we’ll get another piece of the Thanksgiving puzzle!
AFTER you start the dialogue between Flanders and Homer…Lisa will popup with a quest…
This will be the start of the Episode Tie-In….
For the most part it’s just two quick parts…for now. A 6s task with Homer and Lisa and then a 1hr Task where Homer goes to Moe’s. Then you’ll see a popup telling you to watch the Simpsons on Sunday to see what’s happened to King Toots…
After you complete part 2 of the questline, where Homer goes to Moe’s for an hr, you’ll have the option to purchase…
Guitar Central- 50 Donuts. Earns $135, 15xp/ 4hrs (Requires you to be at Level 17).
If you purchase Guitar Central…the questline will continue for you…
Items Missing from the Store:
When you first start up the Thanksgiving Event the store looks like this:
With all of the Thanksgiving items clearly marked and Recommended. But after you leave TSTO and come back it might look like this:
And you might be panicking that Thanksgiving is gone from your game! BUT…fear not! Because it isn’t….To get it back all you have to do is expand the store menu:
And find the Thanksgiving Icon:
And presto! Thanksgiving will return:
Remember…Bunny outlined the details of the new Menu in this post, which reminds you that the Event Icon will change from time to time, but you should always be able to find it when you expand the menu. 🙂

Well. Everything’s premium & the one character I’d pay for (JB) is limited. Not thrilled.
Like a lot of people have said, this event seems to mostly cater to premium players. I’d like to have Grandma Bouvier in my town but I’m saving my donuts for Christmas. The new skins are cool though.

Well, next to nothing… Would have liked a freemium building but whatever.
Thing is old players already had the balloons and Sacajawea Lisa skin and all that leaves is the ned skin, the cornucopia and the table. However, we can’t get the table till Monday and the cornucopia is further on in the quest so not a lot really…
I’ve already bought Guitar Central, it’s got a nice sound effect when it’s tapped. I’ve also decided that I’ll be getting Jacqueline Bouvier in the next few days. 🙂
Too expensive for my budget. I’m still relatively new so I don’t have any of these items and I don’t have 700 donuts either.
EA is starting to price me right out the game!

Everyone who has ever cheated playing the card game of Solitaire, please raise your hand. Was it fun? Did you feel like you accomplished something? Did you brag about the so-called win to your friends? Was there any point to it at all?
When game developers make games, such as this one, they try to make a balanced game. When they succeed, the game will be fun to play and have good replay value. When a player cheats at that game, the player is affecting the balance of the game. Generally, this can be expected to reduce the fun or the replay value of the game, or both.
My friend’s 13-yr old son figured out how to cheat at Plants vs Zombies, and now says the game is boring. I asked why it is boring and he said that he always wins, so what’s the point. I wanted to see his excellent zombie-killing skills in action, and asked him to show me how he beats one particular level. He started the game, and then started a cheat-program that allowed him to change the memory registers in the computer — and gave himself over 9,900 suns (for those unfamiliar with the game, suns are the game currency, 9,900 is a lot of suns, and players start over with a nominal number of suns each time they start a new level). I asked what would happen if he didn’t give himself all those suns and he said he would lose because he couldn’t beat the level without them.
So that’s what cheating or hacking does — it changes the balance from what was crafted by the game designers to a state of imbalance that might not be as much fun to play. Depending on the game, this could affect other players as well.

Hi Dee. Please don’t feel that way. I started playing during the Stone Cutters event (June, 2014). I’m at level 47, and I have a really cool (I think) Springfield, and I’m a freemium player.
So don’t get discouraged. Play the game the way you want to play it, and don’t worry if your neighbor has every premium item ever released.
Ahh it’s OK. See it as a challenge to save up enough donuts to get something you really want to have

Did you check in the Menu under both the Thanksgiving icon and the Homer Buddha?
I don’t see the casino listed at all. Piggly’s Super Smorg for 140 donuts, Heimlich Machine for 60 donuts and Caged Tom Turkey for 100 donuts.
I have to say the Thanksgiving items are too expensive for my blood. I’ve saved my donuts that I received for free. I don’t think I’m going to use them for the Thanksgiving Quests. Nothing thankful about it!
Where did you look for it? In the event menu icon? Or did you look in Homer Buddha?
yeap. the casino is gone after 30 min or so from the update. don’t know why. maibe there is another update on the way?
Did you try restarting your device? Mine is still right there in the Thanksgiving Menu.
Same thing happened to me I saw the casino at the morning, now I came back and ther’e no casino or Thanksgiving icon, I only found the ballons, the caged turkey, the Heimlich machine and Piggly’s Super Smog 🙁

Love this site, thank you Bunny and everyone else behind the scenes! I love, love this site.This update leaves me with the feeling of “Blah”. I’ve been playing for over 2 years now and have spent some money on the game..but now I’m primarily a freemium player..because at $5-$10+ for a game character or building, I’m done making EA easy money. With that being said, there’s not much here for a freemium players who has been on for a while because of all the recycled items from previous events. I probably need a rest after the intensity of Clash of Clones and Halloween anyway. I’ll be sitting this one out..not much to do here for a player like me. It’s just strange to be sitting this one out…that hasn’t happened before..there was always lots of tapping to do even for freemium players. Bummer. I was at least prepping for another 10 million dollar building to pop us. Guess I’ll be on the sidelines until Christmas update…pretty bummed. I love this game,I’m not going anywhere…I hope they balance the premium stuff with the freemium stuff going forward. I do like Ned’s skin of course! No bitter..just pretty disappointing.
Keep in mind…EA is turning to the timed releases. So this may not be all there is.
I like Ms. Bouvier as a character but hate the building she comes with. Does she have a lot of outdoor tasks? Think that will be the deciding factor for me.

My thanksgiving update is gone!!!! I was doing the homer and lisa tasks first as it was shorter. When I got the notification, went to the game. Had another update and everything was gone!!!!!!!
Ok I logged out and logged back in the game. Got the skin for Lisa but not Flanders. Which means I can’t finish the task :'(
Try an uninstall reinstall and see if that helps. If not, contact them.
I contacted EA and they said their tools have not been updated with the new event and asked me to contact in couple of days 😭. Should I still delete and reinstall the whole thing?
I would. Just to see if you got a bad or corrupted file. As long as you got an Origin ID…your game play is saved.
And it does take up to two days for EA to have everything updated at times for new events.

Do we know when this “Limited Time” will come to an end?
The event, we assume right after Thanksgiving. The items…as EA likes to keep those a lil more to themselves now…we do not know.
The Guitar World store is only around until this weekend. Since it’s an episode tie-in item it will be leaving the store Monday or Tuesday. The other items I assume will be around for the whole Thanksgiving event which I would assume to be at least a week or perhaps 10 days or two weeks… I imagine they’ll want to start the Christmas event soon afterwards, so I am guessing more like a week or ten days or so.
Is there a time limit on this update? I just sent all my characters including Homer and Lisa on 24 hours tasks this morning so I could run my errands today without worrying about my Springfield. And now I am distracted by the update and wish I didn’t send everyone on the tasks.
It is Thanksgiving, so yes. I assume it will go when Thanksgiving does.

I am glad I am not the only one who gets pissed about that. We get the most obscure/random male characters freemium but any female character worth having outside of the main characters are premium. It just shows the developers feel that male characters are “standard” while female characters are “extra”.
Is the turkey stuck in the cage forever? I wanted one that would strut around. I may just save up my donuts for the guitar shop.

Im a little disappointed that Jacqueline Bouvier is limited. Considering how much she is a mainstay character, to have her disappear after thanksgiving feels wrong

I was hoping that they would offer Sacagawea Lisa to be bought with donuts, similar to when they offer formerly available characters/skins a second time, but for those of us who already have the character, it now earns at a premium rate. I already have all of the Lisa skins, but none of them earn premium rates. She is one of the most important Simpsons family members in the game, yet she has yet to get a premium skin.
