With 1 week to go until Thanksgiving here in the US…it’s Turkey Time in Springfield! A little Thanksgiving Update has hit our Tapping Devices this morning…
More details as we go through them…but it should auto-start with some dialogue between Homer and Flanders…
(FYI if you don’t see it immediately…try hard closing and restarting TSTO. Sometimes that helps to trigger it)

WARNING MILD SPOILERS AHEAD….
First up, as mentioned above, some dialogue will be started between Homer and Flanders….
Homer: Thanksgiving! The high holiday of gorging! Uncluttered with Yule logs, Easter egg hunts, flag saluting or the yoinking out of groundhogs.
Flanders: It’s also a time for solemn prayer and giving thanks to Our —
Homer: Stuff it, Flanders! Like every holiday, the turkey season combines my three favorite things — Eating, quests and prizes.
Flanders: But do you have any idea what day comes AFTER Thanksgiving?
Homer: LEFTOVERS DAY!
Flanders: I was talking about Black Friday.
Homer: Martin Luther King Day?
Flanders: You really are clueless. Looks like I’m going to have to educate you in the mannor of Miles Flandish.
Miles Flandish: One-two, buckle my shoes! Three four Pilgrim-ize some more!
At this point you’ll get Puritan Flanders (he’ll be in your Inventory..and this is a skin for Ned) for FREE!!
If you don’t already have her, you will also be giving Sacagawea Lisa (returning from last Thanksgiving) for FREE as well! (She’ll also be in your Inventory…and is a Skin for Lisa).
Now let’s take a look at the rest of the Turkey Day Goodies!
New Stuff:
Unfortunately…beyond Puritan Flanders all the new Stuff of this Thanksgiving is Premium. Here’s the break down of what’s new:
Piggly’s Super Smorg- 140 Donuts. Earns $135, 15xp/4hrs. Comes with Jacqueline Bouvier (FINALLY)
Caged Tom Turkey- 100 Donuts. Earns 3% bonus on all cash and xp.
Heimlich Machine- 60 Donuts. Earns 2.5% bonus on all cash and xp.
Now for what’s returning from Thanksgiving 2012 and 2013…
Returning stuff…
Rusty the Clown Balloon- $5,400
Blinky Balloon- $16,500
Santa’s Little Helper Balloon- $30,000
Snowball II Balloon- 15 Donuts. Earns 0.50% bonus on all cash and xp.
The Grumple Balloon- 25 Donuts. Earns 2% bonus on all cash and xp
Stampy Balloon- 40 Donuts. Earns 2% bonus on all cash and xp.
ALL BALLOONS improve your Vanity Rating..
Caesar’s Pow-Wow Casino- 150 Donuts. Earns $200, 22xp/ 8hrs. Comes with Tribal Chief.
Caesar’s Pow-Wow’s Casino Sign- 40 Donuts. Earns 2% bonus on all cash and xp.
The Mayflower- 100 Donuts. Earns 3% bonus on all cash and xp.
Characters:
Tribal Chief- Comes with Caesar Pow Wow’s.
Jacqueline Bouvier- Comes with Piggly’s Super Smorg.
After you complete part 3 of the Thanksgiving questline & start part 4, you’ll be awarded a FREE Cornucopia! (again it’ll be in your inventory) Then you’ll be able to purchase more, if you so choose. But it won’t appear in your store until after you’ve gotten the free one.
Cornucopia- Earns 0.50% bonus on all cash and xp. You can also purchase more for 15 Donuts.
At this point…the questline will be stalled until Monday 11/24, when we’ll get another piece of the Thanksgiving puzzle!
AFTER you start the dialogue between Flanders and Homer…Lisa will popup with a quest…
This will be the start of the Episode Tie-In….
For the most part it’s just two quick parts…for now. A 6s task with Homer and Lisa and then a 1hr Task where Homer goes to Moe’s. Then you’ll see a popup telling you to watch the Simpsons on Sunday to see what’s happened to King Toots…
After you complete part 2 of the questline, where Homer goes to Moe’s for an hr, you’ll have the option to purchase…
Guitar Central- 50 Donuts. Earns $135, 15xp/ 4hrs (Requires you to be at Level 17).
If you purchase Guitar Central…the questline will continue for you…
Items Missing from the Store:
When you first start up the Thanksgiving Event the store looks like this:
With all of the Thanksgiving items clearly marked and Recommended. But after you leave TSTO and come back it might look like this:
And you might be panicking that Thanksgiving is gone from your game! BUT…fear not! Because it isn’t….To get it back all you have to do is expand the store menu:
And find the Thanksgiving Icon:
And presto! Thanksgiving will return:
Remember…Bunny outlined the details of the new Menu in this post, which reminds you that the Event Icon will change from time to time, but you should always be able to find it when you expand the menu. 🙂

well I consider this the “real” november update. That should have been released a week ago.
I don’t know if anyone else is having this problem, but my Puritan Flanders disappeared right after the Homer dialogue and even with an uninstall and re-install he hasn’t reappeared. Any other suggestions?
The skin? Or the character?
The skin, it’s not in my inventory and I’ve contacted EA, haven’t heard back yet.
Per the EA customer rep I spoke with they don’t have a fix at this time, but he said to put in another ticket on Tuesday to see if they have a fix yet. If no fix, probably no pilgrim for me.

, I really hope someone responds to this I am very confused as far as why we cannot tap neighbors white houses. is it just me or can you not tap white houses. No one ever taps them in my neighborhood and I cannot tap them in anyone else’s, why is this? I hear in other people’s blogs and stuff about how they would rather than tap a White House in a brown house but all you can ever do is tap brown houses there is never an option to tap white houses or pink houses. I am level 15 is this may be the reason why. I really hope someone responds to this because I have been puzzles for days to why I cannot tap white houses in peoples neighborhood or they cannot do it in mine
You may see this if YOU clear them to often and don’t leave anything above for a neighbor to tap when they come in. OR have lots of other choices.
On the flip side, it may be hit in the towns you are going in a lot and so you never see the option to tap it. People get mine all the time, but I leave the money on them for my neighbors to get them and ONLY clear them when a handshake hits.
White houses take 12 hrs to regenerate so if you clear them, another 12 have to pass before they can be tapped again vs a Brown House that takes only 5 minutes.
Well, this is a strategy changer! I did not realize that if I clear all my money in my Springfield there will be nothing for my neighbors to tap. I just assumed there would be something to tap in every town by default. Perhaps this explains why some Springfields have nothing to tap on…

I wish that Guitar Central could stay until Wednesday, my payday because I only have 18 donuts. :(. I appreciate your comments and am totally hooked on this game!
E.A should make a button were u can set all characters to do jobs of the same hour mark because I tend to set them all in 8 or 12 hour tasks overnight and it’s a pain going through every individual… Just a suggestion, don’t know if anyone feels the same!!
I think that would be really helpful! I do the same thing.
Since I’ve gotten to the higher levels with so many characters I’ve been thinking the same.
Seriously! they need to make that easier some how or set some group tasks.

Yes that would be incredible! I had also been hoping that the town hall would not only show where the characters are but how much longer they have on the task they are doing. That would be helpful to know.

I just tried to go into my game and it wants to download yet another update. I’m up against a data cap and won’t go back in until I can reach a free wifi again. I drove 10 miles yesterday to update all the tg stuff. Any idea what this one is for now?

And I lost 140 doughnuts, does any one knows what is happening?

Try restarting your device and checking again. Use town hall to search for her. Check inventory. If still no luck try uninstall reinstall then EA
Make sure she wasn’t moved into your inventory!
Did anyone else get an update this morning that wiped out the Thanksgiving and episode tie in items? I lost everything related to both.
Try to restart your device or if needed uninstall and Reinstall then log back in to your account
I apologize if someone already mentioned this, but I think we’re getting a festive table or something. Lisa has a locked task that required the Festive Table. Do you know anything about it?

hi guys, my thanksgiving menu has disappeared. anyone else reported this? most of the items are showing in the other menus, but the casino is nowhere to be seen 🙁

Restart and if nothing then Uninstall reinstall. If still nothing report it please.
This time, Lisa is way to busy… Usually, you need Homer for everything, but at the moment I have tasks for Lisa piling up. She is needed for the episode tie-in, the main thanksgiving story line, and with Mrs. Bouvier. *sigh*
I think I will send her to be exorcised now, the rest will have to wait 🙂
The thanksgiving update is crashing my tsto- any suggestions? I restarted tsto and rebooted, logged out of origin and back in- still doing it. Thanks!

I think its bollocks that EA is turning Simpsons Tapped Out into a “you must spend real $ to experience level updates and holiday quest items”
I don’t pay for virtual items (when & if this game is discontinued by EA, you lot who spent real $ are going to feel robbed like you did on a Facebook game app!)
I appreciate this game app for what it is – fun & it is with Matt Groening as a character now. This Thanksgiving 2014 brings back items I already have from 2013, and not enough new stuff that’s earn via quests!
My real $ pays mortgage, utilities, telecom, college, etc – no app is worth paying real $ for (these are my opinions, I won’t be surprised if I lose 1/2 my neighbors no thanks to EA!)
I don’t spend anywhere near what some people spend, but I’m sure there are things that you spend money on that I never would. That’s your business. If I throw a couple bucks at a game that I’ve spent a lot of time playing, I’m pretty sure I’m not going to feel stupid or robbed.
My two cents…how much money a year do people spend going to the theater/movies, restaurant, theme parks, etc for enjoyment. It is 99% of the time a one time thing. You don’t really take anything home with you that you can keep forever (unless you pay MORE money for a souvenir, or have leftovers…but then what?). So why is it bad that people spend money on a game for enjoyment?
If you do not wish to spend money, that’s fine…your choice. Don’t spend it. No one is forcing you. Choice is awesome. But that doesn’t mean that other players are “robbed”. Handing something over willingly is not robbery. Just sayin. 😉
Totally agree – Guess EA is becoming a money hungy cash machine.
I think EA watched last weeks South Park and realized their business model was all wrong.
I think if EA ever shuts down the servers for this game, those who recently purchased donuts would feel ripped off. As for me, I don’t mind spending a little bit on a game I like (basically for the reasons Bunny mentioned) but I do agree that EA charges too much for some of their premium content, which is why I haven’t yet made any donut purchases. I would prefer to see content that costs cents instead of dollars but apparently EA doesn’t see it the same way, and would rather have fewer transactions for more money, than the other way around. That’s OK — it’s their choice and their business model, and it would be hard for them to change gears and reverse themselves now.
As for the OP’s comment about losing half the neighbors “no thanks to EA”, it’s not clear why that would happen. Because of posting an opinion? Because of not having as much premium content as those who spend money on donuts?

I wish I had the donuts to buy the guitar center. I’ve lost alot of donuts because I didn’t have the option to ask if I wanted to spend donuts turned on. I’d have a bunch of them by now. And then I’d buy the guitar center so I could continue the quest. Oh well.
I was trying to catch Sideshow Bob so I didn’t activate Puritan Flanders when I first launched the game.. Now I can’t find him 😖 Any ideas on where I can locate him?

I think the Grumple Balloon may be the best donuts to % bonus in the game. 2% for 25 donuts i think is exceeded only by the Jet Engine Bike, which is 30 donuts for 2%. I’m debating buying 5 of them for a 10% bonus.

Im dissapointed… I mean it’s an update with only premium things! Im on my third year playing this game so i already have all the balloons or lisa skin. The only thing new is puritain flanders and the premium objects. I find it unfair as the loyal players dont get rewarded, only those willing to spend bucks get something. And it’s not even the fact that you’re unwilling to spend a little but the price asked for the doughnuts knowing how much are needed for one premium object… It’s ripping off…

I know but still… Was happy to see an update till i saw i couldnt buy anything! I have more than enough $ but it’s like it’s useless seeing almost everything required doughnuts now. For a $ thing you have two premiums. Makes you wonder what’s the point of playing and keep earning $ you wont spend

Until Tuesday the 25th.
When the the message for the Guitar store popped up it said till Sunday. I don’t know about the other premium stuff.
If you splurge on Guitar Central and complete that questline, is there anything else that is eventually unlocked like another character or skin, or is the building all you get?

Make sure Homer is free. You need both of them to do the task. This frustrated me for like 5 minutes until I figured it out.
