Well here we are..4 days into 2015 and hopefully everyone is off to a great start! 2014 was such a great year for us here at Addicts. We saw tons of new features (like Open Thread, Showoff etc), LOADS of new Players (we love you newbies!), tens of thousands of comments (we LOVE what you guys have to say!), and tons of giveaways! And now we want YOUR help to make 2015 even better!
Here’s the deal….we want to hear from YOU…the most amazing readers on the planet….about what you love about our site, what you hate about it & what you think we could be doing better (or would love to see). Here’s your chance to sound off and let us know exactly how you feel, please don’t hold back. We want to hear it all…the good, the bad & the ugly. Leave us a note in the comments below about what you think. Not comfortable leaving your name? Not a problem, write it up as anonymous. I think that the things your post currently are certainly interesting to lots of people… just not all. The one improvement I would suggest is organization. You’ve already got that going some with the event pages, but refining that so people can find the posts they want would be great. Also, since there are so many newbies, I found it hard to find old posts about the level I was currently on or an item that is old to you but new to me and I wanted more info. So just make things easier to find – get a better search function – and keep doing what you’re doing. You guys are awesome!
Oh I forgot one more thing. I would love if there would be a way we can edit our own posts (comments). Be it a typo or a misspelling or an absent word, sometimes I would like to be able to go back and edit what I typed after I hit the “Post Comment” button. Even if it is limited to only when the comment is awaiting moderation.
Alissa, Bunny, Wookiee, thanks for all the time and effort and *passion* you put into this site. I can appreciate what it takes to keep it going behind the scenes. Hats off to you all and happy new year.
What can be added to the site? Hmm… perhaps a donation button (via PayPal or alike) so that those that would like and are able can help you out with the site voluntarily if they choose.
I try to avoid spoilers, so sometimes I skip the Turbo Tapping columns unless I really have to know what task might come next in a given quest. I would like to avoid spoilers, but still know which characters will be required for a new quest so we can keep them available with only short tasks. So perhaps a list of required characters can be put on those posts (in the preview) before the spoilery stuff?
I love the Sunday Open Forum column, but perhaps consider a bulliten board for it that is available 7 days a week. Often I would think of something that would be ideal for the open forum in the middle of the week but will completely forget what it was come Sunday when the new Sunday Open Forum column goes up.
Or have the spoilers hidden under a spoiler button, then you only see the dialog if you choose to click on it.
I was wondering if you have a complete shared tasks list. For example, Rex Banner needs Flanders in order to do his 8 hour task. As more and more characters are added to the game, it can be hard to remember who needs who to complete their tasks.
Oh the site? I don’t care. I don’t even use the site really besides getting update info from the game since no other site has it.

Rain weather.
A actual “weather” option we can actually select on and off option, if we want snow we should be able to turn it on year round. Same with rain and same with falling leaves even though that isnt exactly weather effect.
But technically like the xmas lights on and off switch we were able to get for this winter, which is a neat object. They could make that for the weather too.
More characters obviously. More older ones like from the first season or something. Like the baby sitter they got that was a crazy bitch. lol
And the girl Bar fell in love with and he never washed his hand after she spit in it. LOL That girl would be a nice add.
More objects, way more objects. More types of roads like snow road, dirt road, puddles to add to streets. More vehicles, and an option to place them in the road…instead of forcing us to use a hack to do it.
A server that doesn’t crash ever again.
How about Kearney Jr.,Ling,Old Jewish man,Lewis,Richard,Wendell,Helen,Julio,Cookie Kwan,Lindsey,Sarah,Doctor Colossus and Leopold
I’d like to see the next two characters introduced to the game be Helen Lovejoy, and Herbert Powell (uncle Herb. Homer’s brother). I think Helen Lovejoy is the obvious choice. Most of the rest of the possible characters are either too obscure, or dead.
I just realized that you weren’t looking for what I wrote above. Sorry. As for your site……I think you’re doing a great job! I refer to your site constantly for the latest news and tips. Thank you.
I’d hate to criticize people who things for free, but as far as suggestions go, I’d suggest that when a new update posts (I know you want to wait until you have the full scoop and post, but) it would be nice if you’d look into that window into code you seem to have and tell addicts what the first few tasks are right away and who does them, so we can decide who to keep available and who we can put on 24 hours tasks. I always wind up keeping every character available and missing xp.
That’s not a bad idea. Something we can do. Usually we try to have the Turbo Tappin’ up within a few hrs of an update hitting…but we can add the first 3 or so tasks to the rundown post as well.. 🙂
To be fair you are all doing NAE bad……I would like you to set your clocks and watches GMT so I can join in the Sunday night open thread………it starts well past my bedtime on a school night.

Even though I’ve been playing almost 2 years (daily) and am at level 48, I am sooooo new to it all. I’ve known very little about the rules, guidelines, manners etc…until I found this site.
Regarding the “no-vandalize friends group” (I’ve only had “friends” a couple of months). Tappers can get intense, even with an occasional accident. :(. The question is: When you visit a neighbor’s town and tap on of their high dollar producing buildings, like SPRINGFIELD High, are you taking that $400 dollars away from them? Is it “nicer” to tap only low dollar buildings and houses? What are the rules for being a good neighbor?
It doesn’t remove any money. Taps reset the building rent earning. I try to tap the longer rent buildings but IMHO, a visit is a visit lol.
Here’s the thing…..y’all have how many thousands of followers on this site? Y’all apparently are doing something right!! (Actually, y’all are doing quite a bit right!!) I honestly can’t think of anything that needs to be changed. While y’all do talk about things going on in your lives (going to ComiCon, the Springfield at Disney, etc.), it’s usually tied into The Simpsons somehow.
I really appreciate the hard work y’all put into this site. It’s really cool that there are folks that want to help others out with a game and are as dedicated as y’all are! Many thanks!
Happy 2015! Love the site, first time posting. I’d first like to thank you, especially for the “should I buy?” posts weighing in on the pros/cons, and the calendars. Those have been super.
From your list of suggestions – personal lives are great! Really gives connections to your audience, I would definitely suggest more (but not intrusive) posts. And yes on the guest posts… perhaps incorporated with something below.
I think I have three main suggestions for new features, perhaps?
1 – Guest posts, yes. In particular – I love seeing design in friends’ towns. And on here, and other sites. I’d be very interested in people showing off their towns – not as a contest, but more of a “here are some design elements from mine” (not just 2D/3D stuff, either). I take this rather seriously in my town, and after about a year and a half, demolished the whole thing and started fresh just before Christmas 2014 started. I’m still working on finishing details, but I’ve used elements from other towns that I’ve seen. I’m sure there are many others that have done the same!
2 – Fan photos! If you stop in Springfield, USA, show a pic! If you happen by Springfield Elementary in that town, post it! If you’re at a bar that reminds you of Moe’s, show us! If your family doctor really is a Dr. Hibbert, post a selfie! …etc
3 – Links to wikis. There are a few wikis of varying quality, I won’t specifically support or trash any of them, but they have been invaluable resources in addition to TSTOA. And they cover different things as well including, for instance, full dialog quotes and image repositories. Some kind of cross-site work would be great.

Top10 list could be interesting, all 3 of u post ur 10 fav freemium items and why, ur fav premium items and why, your items you find the most useful, fav character, fav skins, wish would come to the game etc…
U have, house wives and guy version, how bout kids korner, break down the kids of the universe
Im not big on it but maybe u guys have a twitter feed and tweet ur musings about the updates to the site or game, factoids

But seriously, I think you folks are doing a wonderful job, and this site is where I’m always checking in for new information, walk-thrus, ‘should I buy?’ recommendations and so on. The only thing I can can come up with would be a static Troubleshooting section that starts with links and basic information on what to do when encountering various TSTO problems.
Stuff like “What to do when the Bart screen shows up” (most of the time, it’s just ‘check your internet to be sure it’s working, then just wait because it’s probably an EA server issue). How to attempt to force a game update (visit the app store and see if the update is there). What to do if your town seems to have reset to level 1. Crashes, graphics glitches, general things to try if some event doesn’t seem to be working quite right or something isn’t spawning (i.e., go to Krustyland and come back seems to work for almost everything), etc. And then of course the links to go to EA where we file support requests.
Whenever there’s an event-driven glitch, like Feds not showing up or Zutroy not being available, that kind of troubleshooting info is also very helpful, and you’ve always had that, too — but much of the time, the problem is a generic one.
Thank you for being my go to site for info. I enjoy your sense of humor and the contests are fun. You all do a wonderful job and it would be frustrating to try and figure out the events w/o your help. Keep up the great work. Missed Wookie on his break in October, but I understand you actually have a life outside the game. 🙂
I love the site and wish all players were reading it. The game itself isn’t hard but the events can get complex for freemium players. I’d love to be able to only have freemium friends so we can help each other through the events.
I’d really like to thank the three of you – Alissa, Bunny, and Wookie, for taking all of the time to give everyone such a comprehensive guide to this game and a great way to connect with others who enjoy it. I’m a newbie (high level) and I just got into this game in June or July last year. I think you all provide us with much more than anyone could reasonably ask and do it with such pizazz. 🙂
I would love to see more on facebook. You post a lot, but no responses or comments follow- on the rare occasion they do, it’s a week later. I’ve had trouble logging into word press on my other devices (it happened just now as well, typed this on my computer, wouldn’t let me log in, so now I’m retyping on my phone) would love to see more interaction on facebook itself.
I would also love to see HOW TO BUILD for 3D. I believe you did one over the summer in how to build a castle from bricks, I failed miserably, but would love to see more like that so I can learn!

More on design is a good idea
You guys are great. I think you’re right on with the personal stuff, without at least some it becomes more flat. I love design posts, I would like to see some of those, seeing as how I’m living my design dreams through everyone else lol. Youtube videos are cool. But it greatly depends on if it’s clips from the show or town designs. Sometimes they’re awesome but other times people don’t have time to watch them, if that makes sense.
From what I’ve seen since Clash of Clones, that’s all I can say. Apart from you guys being the best.
I’ve loved the site since I found it!! Y’all do such a great job. I’d love to see more design posts. I like keeping the focus of the blog on the game as opposed to other items – anything not game related can stay in the open thread. I love the different sections – like design or realty or the event pages with links to different posts. Would like to see that explored a little more and “definitive” posts updated if info changes. But I also realize what a huge undertaking that is!!! And I do think y’all do a great job of keeping things up to date. Personally, I don’t care as much for videos… I tend to check in while at work so I couldn’t watch the videos anyway…. O:)
Hey, everyone happy new year! My fear has come true …I get the canon to shoot every 2.5 hour but don’t have enough elves to shoot it! Poor planning by ea. There should be someway to produce more elves for this event! Thanks….just had to vent
I’m not one for change. I quite like how they are right now, I feel that the balance is about right.
Maybe guest writers could be cool, not sure how you’d organise that but if some folk have things to say then it could ease the load for you guys just a tad 😛
To be honest, what you guys are doing now is great. From my perspective you guys don’t need to improve. As the saying goes, ” if it ain’t broke, don’t fix it” or something along those lines :p
Just keep the RHOS coming, they’re few and far between :p I enjoyed when they were done even on characters not in the game, that would work so well amongst the other women. The women of Springfield need all the love they can get haha!
I would like to see more trouble shooting questions answered.

I have an idea. .. Maybe somehow have a EA expert available as a writer to help us addicts where you’s at TSTO can’t. . My second idea is also a writer but a guest writer from the Simpsons show and maybe get that person to answer tsto addicts questions they always wanted to ask. ..
