Anyway enough rambling from me….it IS Sunday and you know what that means, right? No it’s not time to change Baby New Year’s diaper! Nope it’s time for another Sunday Night Open Thread!
Here’s where you can talk about anything you want to talk about…TSTO Related, Simpson’s Related or ANYTHING. Just no Add me requests…those should go here. We’ll give you a few suggestions (like most Sunday’s you can talk about the current episode of the Simpsons) but for the most part you’re free to talk about ANYTHING your little Tapping Fingers desire…just keep it PG.
So…here is your Sunday Night Open Thread. After a few weeks off…the Simpsons are back with an all new episode tonight! What will happen with the Simpsons see the Rigellians? Lots of glitches and lockouts this week in TSTO, how did you do with them? Are you still on track for all of the Elf Bell prizes? College Bowl games were played this past week…how did your team do? Are you ready for the National Championship game? NFL playoffs are in full swing, how’d your team do? Who are you pulling for to make it to the Super Bowl? Did you do anything fun and exciting for New Year’s Eve or Day?

Still can’t get into the game…haven’t successfully logged in since Jan 2. Contacted EA and did every one of their troubleshooting tips with no success. So I guess no more Christmas event for me. Hoping that with an update after Christmas, I can get back in. So disappointed.
Ugh… having had major issues x 2, my experience is sometimes you have to be the squeaky wheel with EA’s support. Don’t give up and keep trying. Also ask for the things you missed out on. Worst they can say is no.
Exactly the same problem I have been having since Monday. Since Xmas day, if I could get in, I would be kicked out at random. I did call them (or really asked them to call me back and it took 3 hours for them to do so) and asked what was going on. They came back with the same troubleshooting advice that is here and on their site. One even went as far as to blame my device. But squeaky wheel and all that… and being myself, I did ask them to keep looking into the issue. I doubt they will.
The main person I did talk to, did recommend an app called Bluestacks. It works with Android devices. You download it to your computer (be warned items are not synced properly and you need to click slightly below boxes and such), load on Tapped Out and Voila! I did eventually get it working on my tablet, but only at home and once a day I have to clear the data and reload. My aim is to get the island, then a break until the end of the month/valentines day.
Long story short: try Bluestacks.
Is it just me or are the elves a bit stingy with the cog wheels? Anyway having a blast and if anyone wants to add me feel free/vandalize free. Happy tapping

Off to surgeon tomorrow so will let you know how I get on with that. Taking the PC with me so Louisa’s partner, Ken, can put in a new network card for me, then I’ll be able to email once again. So worried that Val may think I have been ignoring her as I haven’t seen any comments from her in ages…could just be busy with family over festive period..will need to get in and write you both when I get home from Mackay.
On home front…good news from my youngest son,…talked to him yesterday and the heart attack was from pericarditis and that he is healing fast..such a huge relief. He is such a laid back dude, he’s the last one of my kids I would ever have thought would have a heart attack, even tho he is in a high stress job…he just takes life so calmly and matter-of-factly….blew us all away. He got the pericarditis from a chest infection and in his usual calm self he informs me it could happen to anyone, you know! Lol.
So pleased Wendell is doing so well for you. Aaron rang my mother on Xmas eve to tell her about Phillip and he said she was super nasty to him about all of us, so now he won’t call her either. She just launches into vicious verbal attacks now, so it is really hard. Now is when I should be home helping her, but I dare not as she then becomes physically violent. So damn hard to see this happening to someone you love and know was never like this before the dementia set in. And stepfather seems to be getting more nastier as well, so it would be absolute hell in that house now.
I see where medical researchers now say an aspirin a day may hold back the onset of Alzheimer’s. Wouldn’t that be fantastic?
Well sweetie, I shall away for now and look at earlier bedtimes than of late as I have early start in morning.

Hehehe it’s good to see the road travelling by Krustyville, a sign of Shelbyville finally coming as a neighbor… if working in Krustyland and discovered the long running POP (Sideshow Bob not immediately updating baloon popping totals, ever, at least in mine 🙂 challenge and updated the path to beyond Springfield! Thoughts?

Well, hmmm… i am pretty sure the freeway / highway is new isn’t it? Unless I’m going a bit daft in my age 🙂 It suggests a change or a new “pathway” to “somewhere”, and the most missed and under represented location nearby I kinda figured had to be Shelbyville:)

Wait? You’re able to pop balloons right now? They discontinued that feature for the lengthy of this event! Do you have a special connection to the developers, our are you having just a little too much fun with chemicals? 😉 😉
The roadway appeared a while ago…I think with the Thanksgiving event, maybe?? My brain is too old to remember those details. Don’t know if it means anything though, but I like your idea that maybe it’s a tease for something to come!
Never really been chemically inclined, slightly disturbed thats the first reference you go to 😉 I still blame age, still remember seeing QUIJIBO for the first time… still gives me a chuckle! Have been waiting for Shelbyville for years now, seeing signs where none exist… Er and I mean’t prior to bah-humbugness, was able to pop but the amount received never appeared immediately in the krustyland ticket count, it would only appear after springfielding in and out.
Well that was fun…your comment sent me on a fun little research expedition on the ‘net to learn all about QUIJIBO! lol. Somehow, that one had never managed to enter my friends’ and family’s vernacular.

I’m not on track for the prizes oh well it’s just a game! I got behind because of Christmas and New Years I didn’t have every much time to play!
I’m not sure if it’s just my game or what but when I go through friends sometimes the other Springfield doesn’t give me bells?
Anyways, as you can see by my name, I’m a huge carolina panthers fan from pa!!! Still in it, but don’t see us beating the Seahawks either, although I would love for it to happen and Dallas crybabies win too so we can play each other because Dallas is my husbands team and whip some cowgirls butt! Which they shouldn’t even be in the playoffs because they should of lost that game because there was a lot of crap going on and the refs didn’t call most of it.
There’s a cap each day on how many bells you get for tapping neighbors. Only the first 120 taps (40 neighbors) will pay bells — but keep tapping all of them because it still benefits your neighbors, especially if you tap their elf tunnel or their cannon.
Hey, I just received another donut by tapping a handshake on my cannon, I did what you said and went to neighbours for the game to sync up but when I came back, the donut was gone from my total again!

The video game screen on Sequel Stop no longer displays properly for me. Anyone else have this problem?
Try storing it in your inventory and replacing it. See if that helps.
I’ve tried everything! Even completely reinstalling the app. I loved that screen animation 🙁 The weird thing is it happened on two of my devices simultaneously. Oh well. Thank you, as always, for your help X
The animation is only active when someone is there doing a task. Since the task at the Sequel Stop is a one-time deal, the animations will stop working until EA adds another task for the building, or does an event where everything gets animated (like the Stonecutters event last year).

Just got the tropical island! Just wish there were more than just two rows of water though – it looks a little weird to have it so close to shore (and to winter!).

Freaking Sideshow Freaking Bob. I don’t know if I’m glitched, or if everyone has the same issue, but he’s in my town nearly every time I load it. I thought I was going crazy, so I tracked it: of the last 20 loads, he was in my town 16 times. Any word from EA on why he’s dropping so often?
Am I imagining things or was that joke about the multiple Rigellian births recycled from another episode?
Anyway, I was quite amused that last night’s episode riffed on two of my pop culture obsessions – Disneyland and Star Trek.
I don’t think you’re imagining it. I remember it from another episode too…i just can’t remember which one.. Anyone else?
So, I haven’t been able to log into my game since Sunday. I have contacted EA and no one has responded, will wait a bit (I do not like calling from work) before contacting them again. Has anyone heard what is going on?
I either get the perpetual Bart screen. The odd time, I was able to log in, but then it kicked me out almost right away.
First I’m seeing of the lockout (that’s new). Could be an issue with your specific game. Check your internet connection (just to make sure) and if it persists I’d contact EA and let them know what’s going on..

Thanks. I ended up caving and contacting them. No help so far. I cleared cache and then uninstalled/reinstalled. I know the interwebs is working at my location because I could download the game! But it is still frustrating and I was hoping someone else may be having the same problem.
I’m having all kinds of trouble. It’s not just you. I haven’t managed to collect from all my neighbors in 2 days. After 5 hours of trying, I give up.
I find, and I understand this will only work on a mobile device with good signal, is to toggle WiFi off, play on 4G or whatever and when finished close the game as normal. Now switch WiFi back on and launch the game (or leave it and launch it when you planned on doing again) and I find mine works fine. I have had the incessant ‘retry’ in a loop for over 5 minutes, but doing the above, even for just a minute or so, got my game working again.
I appreciate it could be a coincidence, but it’s worked everytime so far for me.
I called EA and they are escalating the issue. In the meantime, I waited until I got home, reinstalled it and except for one hiccup at 9:30 last night, it worked great! So, I am thinking that work might have done something with the WiFi over the holidays?
This now means that I installed Bluestacks and play my game that way when I am at work and on my tablet at home.
I’ m having the same problem. It started 24 ago. I deleted the game, reinstalled it, but it says the same thing. Or the Bart screen, or being kicked from the game when the screen with the bells apears…
They were not very helpful in the end: basically they blamed my device and when that no longer worked, blamed the wifi connection at my place of employment. But, I will admit, for the last 2 nights, I have had to clear the data and reload around 9pm. So, maybe it is my device? I just find it odd that it is all of a sudden happening. Never really had these problems until Phase 2 of the Xmas started. It is frustrating but I am not certain what can be done.
A workaround, if you are playing on an Android system is an app called Bluestacks. It downloads onto your computer and you can access the game that way.
I am just aiming, through these different methods of getting the island (should be by the weekend!) then will take a bit of a break from the game. I did order a new device which should be arriving at my parent’s place today and I will get in 3 weeks when I visit.
Perhaps someone already asked this… haven’t read all the comments, but when do you guys think a new level will come? It’s usually two weeks later or something right? I’m not sure when the last one was exactly and you do have an uncanny sense of guessing more or less the right time 🙂
I’ve been saving in game cash which could really help if a new level arrives soon. Generally I have to wait for days before I have enough cash for the new building, but this time I might just be able dive in… However, I am also considering buying some more land to increase my meter… Tough choices 😉
lol it’s just from playing for so long and knowing EA’s cycles for stuff. Allows us to make good educated guesses 🙂
My guess is we won’t see anything until the event ends. Since it ends next week I don’t think EA will hit us with anything until it ends. But again…that’s just my guess 🙂

I pulled a good one in this game the other day. I woke up early in the morning and opened the game and started to play. Apparently I fell back asleep while playing. I woke up with the screen asking me to confirm my purchase of a boatload of donuts. That woke me up fast.
Glad to see the Ravens won, even if some of the credit goes to the Bengals for taking out Bell for us. Of course now my 2 favorite teams play each other next week. I would prefer if it was the AFC championship game, but hey. Hopefully no one gets hurt.
Many years ago I went to sleep in the bath. I woke up really fast when I got cold and tried to snuggle down into the ‘blankets’. I’m guessing your experience had much the same effect on you!! Lol

I like the idea of an earlier posting time but it’s difficult to get a balance for everyone – it could just be the Sunday thread rather than Sunday night, posting at 9am GMT might give the Australians and others in those time zones a chance to comment before going to bed.
For me 10pm GMT would be fine. 🙂
I worked it out that we are about 15hours ahead of Central time USA so it would be really hard to get a good time for us down here, or our Asian friends. Sometimes I manage to get on here with the rest of you, but not too often. 😕 but that’s okay, at least we can still get on here and leave a comment or twelve! 😉

Hi Julie, why aren’t u getting your rest? Lol. It seems Jamie has been truly blessed to have u for his grandmother and also his parent. He looks like a sweet young man. It is nice that he can relax at home with u and just let it all hang out, speaking of being able to be himself, and know that u will still love him. U r an amazing lady and I would venture to say, have a heart of gold.
Sorry u r having so many problems with your hand after the surgery. Was wondering what the doctor was able to do, with the surgery only taking four minutes. Seems it would have been better if it had taken a little longer and got your hand back to as normal as he could. Hopefully, they will be able to fix the problems for u. How disappointing to have waited so long and received these results.
We r doing well here in Fresno, California. My son is really enjoying the oranges from my trees. I need to share with my neighbors, just have to get off of this game long enough to pick them and give them. Maybe after this event is over and I have more time. Lol. Wendell is doing really good. He never complains and most of the time he will do what I say. Lol. Like, take his pills and not try to throw them away if I am not looking. He saids, “Are you going to just sit and watch me take my pills?” I tell him, yes. We have fun.

I honestly have been waiting for a new KrustyLand update to come out for the longest time! When they first came out with it I rapidly got everything because I love amusement parks, Krusty’s personality and to be able to get out of my Springfield for a bit was always nice, but now? There hasn’t been a new update in so long! I like how they added the feature of converting your tickets to money but having more attractions, game booths, characters and buildings would be perfect! C’mon EA, step it up!!! I miss going to my krustyland, I’m barely in it anymore and frankly, sometimes I even forget I have it!
Yes, and so little decorations. Has so much potential. Also, most of the cool rides are donuts.

I enjoyed that throwback to the time where Homer smuggled potato chips aboard the space shuttle, but overall I didn’t enjoy this Sunday’s episode as much as some previous episodes from the current season. I did enjoy seeing again those Rigellians which I miss squishing so much from my own personal Springfield…. Felt a lot like it should have been a Treehouse Of Horror plotline….
I am at a point where elves are not producing enough while canon is always ready to shoot first..
REGARDING CHANGE OF TIMES FOR SUNDAY NIGHT THREAD
Okay…so after responding to Etamni, way down the page here, I read the small print at the top of this page! D’uh!! Face palm!
Okay…here in Australia, on the eastern side, the post comes to us about 10am on Monday mornings…we’re 3 hours ahead of New Zealand, so that would make it about 7am Monday their time. Japan to my knowledge is on the same time frame as Eastern Australia.
Western Australia is about 2 1/2hrs behind Eastern Aust, so they would see the post about lunchtime Monday…going back up into Asia, you would find the corresponding time lines in those parts above West Aust…then getting later in the day as you keep going west around the world into Europe.
So I’m not sure it would be too much benefit to any of us really…maybe a select few. To bring it up earlier would then make it in the middle of the night for New Zealand and Aust and Eastern Asia, and then early morning for West Aust and West Asia/Central Europe. I find I am actually better suited to a later time frame as I get on here mainly in the afternoon my time, or evenings…now…..Do you moderators want to be awake all night??💬👀 Lol
So is it worth it for that reason? If YOU want to have a less stressful evening of moderating, guys, then you bring it on earlier, cos we think you guys rock and I for one think YOU DESERVE a more restful Sunday evening!!!💐💐🌸🌷🌹🌻🌺🌼🍒💝

Earlier today I had 36 elves and I shot the cannon three times and got down to zero (level 12 cannon)
I come back three hours later after the cannon has cooled and there are no elves in town to zap?
Just curious if any one else has this issue.
I went to visit a friends town and came back and only 3 elves showed up.
Does anyone else find it annoying when a character’s job requires another character?
Is there going to be another part to this event? My neighbors cog wheels and elves in a bottle say 0. There bells is the only number that is moving up.. Sorry if this question has already been answered.
Nope after this phase is up the event is over…
All of my neighbors’ cog wheels and bottled elves say zero — obviously a glitch as some of them have a considerable number of bells and their total elves shot are significant. A small handful of my neighbors show zero elves shot from the cannon but it’s not clear why this is since they seem to be active.
I miss Santa. I wish we could have kept him permenantly.
First proper day back to work this morning, I’ve only worked 2 days since Christmas Eve. Can’t say I’ve missed work much.
Would love the post to be up by 5pm EST because then I can post before I go to sleep.

I have a Origin question.
How accurate is the Last Played feature when checking your neighbors? And does anyone know if the buildings of a Springfield will reset by themselves after a set amount of time if the owner isn’t playing? I ask because a family members’ Springfield claims he hasn’t played in weeks but his buildings will semi-regularly become clear so I can tap them again. (Yeah I know… He plays sporadically but I can’t kick him to the curb cause he’s family…) I have also noticed this with other neighbors who have smaller Springfield’s that their ready-to-tap buildings don’t match the Last Played times. How can you have only 20 buildings, all cleared but haven’t played in over 4 days? (only have one neighbor?) I also noticed recently that when I cleared out enough neighbors to answer a friend request, it immediately claimed they hadn’t played in over 4 days. Is this wrong or did they stop playing after sending a friend request?

From my end, it does seem pretty good, although I have only really recently connected with neighborinos 🙂 Most neighbors have been pretty regular (over the… yee gawds… years I now have mostly active tappers 🙂 and I must admit, avid though I am I kinda make enough (thanks TSTO calendar 😉 and tap every 4 hours or so…
I can understand why Homer would image Ned dead in that Rigellian “room of dreams” thing, but Rod and Todd? I thought that was a little harsh, even for him, lol.
Also, does this episode mean that the Rigellians are canon now? Because I’ve been looking for an excuse to keep Kang and Kodos roaming my Springfield 24/7.
Other than that, excellent episode. Really enjoyed it!
