Looks like we’ve got ourselves a St. Patrick’s Day Update afterall! Green rivers (my favorite!), decorations and FREE DONUTS!!!

Lots of details with this one…including a new questline (using an old building) plus a Gil deal.
You will need Cletus Free for the first part….(30 min task)

Most of this update is going to be reruns of items from St. Patrick’s Day past…so older players try not to get too upset with the content. Especially since most of us thought we wouldn’t see an update this year…oh and there’s free donuts! So let’s take a look at what’s in store for us!

Catch the Leprachaun is back!
Note: This questline will only appear if you have one of the Leprechauns in your Springfield. ie buying a premium item that gives the Leprechaun.
Cletus: Did a mythical creature just run across my yard? Oh miracle of creation! Brandine, get my shotgun!
Cletus: I’ve hunted raccoons, gators, possum, bargains, and briefly Nazis, but I ain’t never hunted no leprechauns.
Cletus: Scraped one off the highway once. It had tasty hearts, stars, and clovers, but I didn’t care for them horseshoes or balloons.
Catch the leprechaun by tapping on him ten times! (This will alternate between giving you XP and $$ each time you catch up to him and tap him again.)
New questline involving O’Flanagan’s Pub again…
O’Flan-again is the new questline for 2015. This starts with Cletus. We’ll cover the full rundown in another post..
Once you’ve completed the O’Flan-again questline you’ll be awarded a free stack of beer in the game. This is a 35 donut item that you’ll get for FREE. It’ll award you a 0.75% bonus on all cash and XP
Gil’s Back!
And after we just said goodbye too! This time Gil’s got a bit of the Irish with him and he’s offering the Blarney Castle. Here’s what he’ll say in your town.
Gil: Hell there, Mr. Szyslak! Now I know you told me never to show my sad face in here again, but I’ve got something you are going to love. Isn’t this broken mirror calling your name? It comes pre-cracked, so you don’t have to worry about bad luck.
Moe: It would be nice to not have to see myself as I actually appear when I look in the mirror. Sold!
Gil: Wow! Gilly boy, better stop while you’re ahead. Unless, Mr. Simpson, you’d like this box of chocolates for your wife?
Homer: I ate all the chocolates while you were talking. How much do I owe you?
Gil: Oh, it’s pretty expensive. Those were rare expired, I mean vintage chocolates.
Homer: Here’s everything in my wallet. Cash, coupons, full punch cards, pictures of loved ones.
Gil: Oh boy! Gil’s big day. Cash and a pretend family to show off to the boys at the Y. They are not going to believe it. Now if I could only sell this Irish Castle that’s rumored to be good luck, I’ll be having steak dinner tonight! Steak fries dinner, that is. Ol Gil’s still in a lot of debt.

Gil: You must be swimming in good fortune to be passing up this old, drafty, haunted castle! Luckily for Ol’ Gil, the ghosts keep me company!

Gil: Another Sale! Wait…did I just sell the one thing that was helping me sell things? Oh, Gil, another quarter you won’t make the Port-au-Price Business School’s alumni newsletter.
The castle is 7×8 in size (kinda small in height). Earns $200, 22xp/8hrs. And it comes with a couple of short questlines….one for Homer and one for Moe.

Not complaining, just making an observation: The Questline(s) that played out in my game were nothing like what you posted above, and that was not at all clear in your post (“I finished the Questline” implies that everything that is posted is full and complete.) I came to this website to see which character(s) I needed to leave free for the St Patrick’s Day event, before sending everyone else on 24 Hour jobs, and I got completely mislead. It was implied that in order to get the Stack of Beer, I had to have the Sham-Rock Cafe, which I don’t, and don’t have the donuts for. Fortunately there were a few Springfielders that only had shorter jobs available when I sent them out and I got the rest of the information here:

I have no idea what you’re talking about…I’m sorry you feel mislead by the fact that it says that i finished the questline and found a bonus and the details are below the fold. Also..NO WHERE does it say you needed the Sham Rock Cafe to get the stack of beer. It says you’re awarded it AFTER you finish the O’Flan-again questline. It also says Cletus starts O’Flan-again and we’d cover the questline in another post.
By saying I finished the questline…followed by and FOUND A BONUS. Doesn’t imply that the questline is on the rundown post. Especially since the rundown post says, we’ll cover the questline in another post.
And again I still have no idea where you got the indication that you needed the Shamrock Cafe to get the Stack of Beer…where does it imply that? The two aren’t even listed anywhere near each other!
And yea the post you linked is the walkthrough for St. Patrick’s day…hence why the details were in it.
After I finished the six hrs homer marketing the beer and sending town ppl to the pub for four hours, which character should be free next for questline to continue?

So strange…the store for St. Patty’s day disappeared. I retarted my phone AND uuninstalled and reinstalled the app and nothing helped.
I guess it’s a good thing i bought what i wanted.
There’s nothing in your store at all? Even under recommended?
Check the category drawer as well . . . the main store page shortcut disappeared for me, but I still have all the items available.

It’s funny…I just never use it, haha I really should start.
Well, I feel like an idiot! 6 months of playing and I never even knew the category drawer existed. I thought it was only the 3 shown, and I never bothered to tap the arrow, as I thought it was simply an indicator. Wow.
My Irish update disappeared as well, and I spent an hour and a half on the phone with EA (after troubleshooting it myself and waiting 16 hours in case it wasn’t just me), and they told me they were aware of the glitch and it would take over a week to fix as they’re “backed up” right now. I was, however, reassured that as long as it had been reported to EA, even if it wasn’t fixed by the time the items disappear from the store, EA would still make the items accessible since it was reported. I don’t know if that’s always true or something you have to specifically ask like I did, but it was slightly reassuring.
I checked my game (thanks to keath!) and lo and behold, all the luck of the Irish is there.
Dani, check yours and see if it’s in the categories. If it’s not, I’d report it to EA in case it really IS true that they’ll allow purchases after the event as long as the problem was reported.

I do really like the cafe. but i also like the castle. arg.
The well. The 4% bonus it offers is on EVERYTHING in your town. Including character tasks and all buildings. Best payout…
As far as looks…I like the cafe. I’m still on the fence about the castle
I got the castle for looks. I’m from the mountains of NC and there’s a place where my mom liked to shop that was in a castle-like building so it reminds me of home. Nostalgia beats payout sometimes. 😀 🍀
Help, I’m confused! I only got a 30 minute quest for Cletus to go to the pub. Nothing about hunting leprechauns. Do I need something premium to hunt them?
The leprechaun quest will only pop up if you have a leprechaun in your town already (ie if you buy one of the premium items to give you the leprechaun)

Green water in my Rigellian Swamp? Yes please! I love having O’Flanagan in my town. I picked him up when he came out right after I started playing. I bought one fountain and am debating on the Well for the character collection.
The green water can get a bit much. It works well in some places, not so well in others. Thankfully they left the minnow ponds a nice, soothing blue 😀

Happy st paddy day addicts team from your number 1 Irish fan. Thanks for all you guys do. That being said this short event us better then the superhero one in my opinion. Much more dialog an character interaction. The superhero one is more like the biggest level up ever. Lots of endless tapping an not much else lol.I’d also like to point out that we’ve hit level fifty an still only two mini games an theve added a total of four set job buildings. We need another mini game. Long over due. Also this is the first event I can recall that hasn’t given yes a free deco multiplyrr yet. Thank bujebus for st paddy day event saving the day lol. I’ll finish with this if been a big comuc collecter my whole life an a big part of comics is the readunf while I like the free characters an buildings I know they could of done better. Again biggest level ever lol. You guys rock.

I’m having problems – the blarney castle has disappeared from my store, and although Gil is waltzing around my town he’s not clickable. Contacted EA – for some reason they seem unable to grasp the issue – how plain can I make it – it’s not in my store – they simply refuse to believe this is possible – I’ve even sent screenshots! I give up – never had any issues with support before but this time they seem unable to help me :(. In my baby game (the one where I ever buy donuts!) ironically it’s there in the store…..
Try another rep. The ones outsourced overseas can be difficult at times to comprehend the situations in the game. My suggestion is set a call back and initiate it during USA business hours (so wait til tomorrow). Then when you do get a rep, ask if they are in the USA
Maybe you could try uninstalling the game and reinstalling it that’s what I do whenever anything strange happens and it usually works

After much to-ing and fro-ing with EA support they finally admitted that I had an unfixable bug, so got around it by placing a castle in my inventory for me! I am apparently a valuable customer. Must admit I was surprised

Hey guys – I noticed that yesterday the main store page has shortcuts for “St Patrick’s Day 2015” in between “Superheroes” and “Blarney Castle,” today that shortcut is gone so you can see the first of whatever items are top of your “recommended” list (or “needed for quest” – whatever logic the game uses to pimp random stuff…) Is that what you’re talking about?
If you go in to the individual sections for buildings or decorations, the SPD items don’t seem to be listed, but if you pull out the category drawer (the > sign next to the buildings icon), you should still have the shamrock icon where you can get to all the SPD items.

I bought the castle and I like it! Now it’s running two storylines, one with Moe at the castle and another with Homer and Flanders running around town trying to catch a leprechaun. I wonder if that means they’ll get one? That’d be kinda fun, especially since I don’t have the sprinkles to get a leprechaun another way. It’s a six hour job so I’ll have to patiently wait and see. Or has anyone else already found out? This was a very nice surprise for today, the buildings and doughnuts. 💚💚

Eh, I figured but wasn’t 100% sure because of the questline. Oh well. I’ve only seen one leprechaun running around a neighbors town and man was it annoying to catch. Not gonna miss it. 😁

Sorry to ask here, but I am a bit confused. Yesterday when the event popped up I didn’t have enough money for the decorations (the freemium ones), so I thought I could buy those today, but when I got connected the St. Patrick decorations had disappeared from the menu… I tried logging in in two different devices and they are no longer there. Was the freemium decorations market a one day thing?

Its still there, on the buy menu click the tellow arrow that puts you to Homer Buddha and voila!! Youll see the shamrock, click on it and all your its shpuld be there

Not sure what generation Kindle you have, but mine is a Kindle Fire and to take a screencap you hold down the power button and DOWN volume button at the same time. Hold for about 3-5 seconds, the screen flashes white for a second accompanied by the ‘shutter’ sound and then you’ll see a brief preview of your pic. Retrieve it for posting from Photos –> Screenshots.

To take a screen shot on your Kindle, hold down the volume down button and the power button simultaneously. (I find that I first need to have the volume turned all the way down, or the button just gets fixated in lowering the volume). It’s a little tricky sometimes to get it to work – you have to do it just right – but it does work (at least in my Kindle Fire HD, original generation). Just play around with it for a butt and you’ll get the hang of it! (I must admit, this is one thing that’s much easier to do on the iPad.)
While we’re on the subject… You asked, in another post, for a picture of my town…. I’m not sure I have the time (and know-how) to do the “stitching” thing necessary to have a picture of my whole town (even though it’s not all that big). Plus, compared to others’, my town isn’t all that creative (though I like to think it’s kinda “homey” 🙂 ).
I completed the 30 min quest with Cletus but I never gotten he prompt for the leprechaun what am I doing wrong??

All of my character are doing a 24 hour task that should be done around 12 tomorrow.. But brandi has got a 63 days left on her birth. Is that an issue. And the other task in my task book is the de amico summer home, the zentith city times, and unlock death mountian

Yah, you have a few Characters outside of Cletus involved. Lisa, Tom, Homer. It all depends on where you are in the quests

I didn’t get the Leprechaun quest until I bought the well, I’m guessing it’s a requirement.
I’m glad that Flanagan’s is back and not premium. I had it before in my original game before I got locked out. And every time I saw him in my neighbors’ towns I’d get a little sad about not having it.
And 20 donuts!! That’s so awesome. When I purchased Plopper I went down to 3 donuts. Due to bonus donuts and the extra 20 I’m back up to 80 that fast. Good deal for a freemium player.
This is my first saint patty’s event. So I am digging the decorations and getting the Flanagan building. Of course love the green river

So, I have 320 donuts right now. I heard from the people at ****** that the Radstation Air Fortress would make a final return before the event ends, and I really wanted to get it. However, now that I have Tom O’Flannigan, should I go for completing the set and getting the two leprecauns? I have the donuts for them! Or should I wait and see if the Radstation Air Fortress DOES come back? I want them all the same amount, but can only either get the Air Fortress or the two leprecauns. So, what do you guys suggest? Get the two leprecauns or wait and see if it comes back like they say it will?

I will say what we always say… until it goes live in the game ANYTHING not confirmed by EA is nothing more than speculation. We do not post speculation as we fell it is cruel and misleading to readers to set expectations that may never come to pass. That and we have found that if we ever do post anything like that, it seems the pitchforks and torches are pointed at us, even though we are NOT EA, and abuse is made toward us for something not coming to be. (I have no idea where they are getting that info you saw from.) So we have chosen to wait. See what we can CONFIRM as something actually happening and only then will we post full details. If you wish to go off speculation, just know you do so of your own free will and you will have to take responsibility on any actions you take due to the speculation personally.
Now with all that aside…. Me, I honestly prefer to get Limited Time items like Character/Building combos and ONLY what I want in my game. If it does not fit with my town or my flow, I will pass. The Air Fortress is MASSIVE. Cool as it may be, the practical side in me will always go more for an item that has a Character and/or tasks built into too. Go with what YOU will be happy with. 😉

I’ve placed my Air Fortress in between Death Mountain and Hank’s volcano. It fits in quite nicely there without taking much extra land, and if you place it correctly it looks like the gun thing from the volcano is connecting to it.
I “caught” the leprechaun once and now I can’t find it any where in my town and after a few taps the yupprechaun also vanished from my game
Store and replace Sham Rock Cafe that should bring him back…
I find that if I cant find a character, I will hit the move button ( x-shaped sign in the bottom right corner), then hit the buildings, roads, and decorations (bottom right), and that leaves nust the characters more visible. That has been my little trick when searching for those pesky criminals, elves, bunnies, etc, during events. Hope that tip helps!!!
I was not expecting EA to release a St. Patrick’s Day event. I thought that they would re-release the Well or Sham Rock cafe and leave it at that! I missed last years event so I’m pleasantly surprised!

This seems like a nice little update, I really like the green beer fountains. I don’t think I’ll be spending donuts on any of the premium stuff, though. As much as I’m on the fence about getting the Shamrock Cafe, 120 donuts is too expensive for just a building with an NPC.

Yay! I’ve wanted O’Flanagan’s for a long time. It’s a nice lil corner piece and fun to look at. And double yay, free doughnuts?! I had been saving up the sprinkles for something else but I’m mighty tempted to get that castle. I’m curious to see what the neighbors do with it. Did they turn the river water green for St. Paddy’s? I built a moat around the prisons last week and now the water looks nuclear waste green instead of blue. Kinda creepy looking. Maybe I should build a moat around Death Mountain? 😀
Are you sure the beer can go in Krustyland? It’s not appearing as an option in mine.
Yup, you can’t purchase it in Krustyland but if you buy it in Springfield you can store it and bring it to Krustyland

I am really pleased about getting the pub. When I first started playing I got the pub then my game crashed and I couldn’t log into my Springfield somehow I forgot my log in details and ended up starting again so no pub. I created a new log in then started again was thinking recently wish they would bring back the Irish pub.
