Hey there Hoppereenos!
The Terwilliger’s have taken over our towns and our game along with the Company Sideshow Bob helped out to make some questionable GMO products. Monsarno. Now we have all sorts of New Items to earn for in the game. How on earth will we keep up? A Calendar of course! (Except for Sandra, she can’t have one… not til next week… so close your eyes Sandra and walk away… 😛 ) 
As per usual, I will be starting the Calendar one day AFTER Act One releases so you can factor in time you will need to send Characters on tasks, get Buildings, and fully launch the Event. I will also be stopping it the night BEFORE the event ends, as the new one starts REALLY early in the AM for the USA.
Here we go…
Now before you see this Calendar and PANIC!!! Don’t! Remember, the more you progress… the more things Unlock. The more things Unlock… the more Spades and other items you will earn. You will keep getting more and more and more. This is just an overall look. So if you are not in sync with the Calendar right away, don’t worry. It is the end result that is where you want to focus. 😉 
Now you have a basic daily breakdown for 13 days based off of approximately 1235 Spades a day.
BREAKDOWN OF PRIZES ACT ONE
Here are the Prizes you can win for Act One along with the amount of Spades you will need to get them.
1050 Spades- Monsarno Founder Statue
1550 Spades- 200 Fertilizer
2100 Spades- 200 Corn
4200 Spades- Old Simpson Farm
6000 Spades- 50 Mutant Seeds
7800 Spades- 200 Fertilizer
11000 Spades- 200 Corn
16050 Spades- Pet Mutant Plant
DIGGING DEEP BONUS
Don’t stop collecting Spades once you hit 16050, because you WILL have that extra chance at the 3 Donut Mystery Boxes. Word of caution on this one, if you are NOT in your town when you hit the bonus, any additional Spades collected may not count towards the 3000 (they will your main total). So be careful. If you are close, you may want to go back to your Springfield just before you hit it. This is due to once it triggers the final prize, it will take a few minutes to go through all the pop ups for it. This causes the Bonus Round Pop Up to delay as you tap through them. That means any additional beyond the 16050 earned when you hit it will NOT count to the Digging Deep until you see the Pop Up. For instance if you earn 16150, the extra 100 will go to your total, but nothing will add to the Bonus until THIS pops up. So the counts may be slightly off. 
For every Additional 3000 Spades you collect, you will get the chance at tapping on one of 3 Mystery Boxes with 1, 2, or 3 Donuts inside. 
If you miss your chance the first time or even second, you can retry for $150,000. So make sure you have some cash set aside if you want to buy your donuts. (I intentionally did NOT use my trick on this one so you can see how much it costs to try again. The 3 donuts were in the center box on this one without the trick.)
Now… the shortcut trick I use for these and the Level Up Bonus boxes you can try in your games. This is completely up to YOU to try it. Just press and hold down on the box on the far right. Do not let go, keep pressing down. Watch the lights. They will cycle through around, back and forth, and flashing. Once they cycle all the way through one time, let go. (Usually as the lights are cycling to meet up at the top.) It is how I have usually avoided paying any extra cash for my 3 Donuts. My luck has been pretty good with it, but for many… it is still just another fun way to play. You may or may not get the 3. Use at your OWN risk. 😉

Depends how long the handles is and how big the head is. If it’s the length/size of a shovel, it’s a spade. If it’s a smaller tool (one that you’d use on your hands and knees in the garden, say), it’s a trowel.

Mr. Teeny is still there, he’s just now an NPC (non playable character) so he’s not listed in townhall or the icon in the top left. He’s still there just roaming around springfield on his own

Great update. Don’t seem to be getting too many seeds to plant in friends towns, does this rise as we go along. Anyone know how many mutants we get and the timescale. Keep up the good work, love the site
Seedlings will pop out occasionally from tapping mutants you’ll also get 50 as a prize.
I believe the mutants spawn 1/10m (trying to remember off hand)

Do u go into friends towns to get extra event currency or did i just not get fair ahead enough. I already did day 1 task and lvl 2 of building but when i went 2 a friends town it was normal points. Sorry if this is a dumb question
Friend actions don’t start until Chaos She-ory Pt. 2, once that triggers for you you’ll start to get friend actions

I don’t think I’ve seen that patch yet. Does it fix the issue I’m having with character’s task lists going away by themselves, before I’ve selected a task for them?
We don’t have that glitch, so we have no way of knowing if it repaired it.

Apparently not. I got the update, but am still subjected to a game of keep-away for some character task lists. I haven’t been able to discern a pattern. Fortunately, once everyone is all-in on this new event, it won’t matter so much if we end up tapping buildings because the character task list box disappeared as were tapping.
I will be starting Cecil fourth and final task for the day with 30 minutes left on the timer. Will I still receive the first prize?
No. It’ll complete into the next day and count as task 1 for the next day.
Not sure if its by chance or because of this event, but NPC Bob seems to be showing up more often in my town tonight. In the past 2-3 hours I’ve seen him 3 times. On that note, I’m also wondering once we get Bob, if he’ll have tasks, or just be a walkaround npc that we can tap for money/exp like the Leprichaun/Yupprechaun. I know, no way to tell yet, just speculating the possibility.

Does Cecil disappear after the daily tasks are done? I can not find him anywhere. He is not listed in City Hall with other characters either.
He won’t be listed in City Hall, he’s not really a character just yet (ie he has no tasks). He does remain in your town, he’ll just roam around like an NPC after you finish your daily tasks (I know this because I’ve seen him roaming my town when my daily tasks were completed). You won’t be able to tap on him again until tomorrow morning when the daily tasks restart
I’ve been able to tap on him, but it just brings up the list of complete daily tasks
Yea to say untappable isn’t the right word. He’s untappable for tasks for him, but he’ll bring up the daily tasks.

For some reason I’m REALLY lacking behind in this update. I have no idea why, I’m playing regularly, logging in every moment a quest finishes and I’m only halfway through the first prize at the end of the second day.
While some people are breezing through this. I’m even sending all my Dimwits on the Bonus Quest and it still seems like I’m going nowhere.
As the event moves forward it’s easier to earn more. It’s difficult the first couple of days, but as you move into day 3 you should start to earn even more. Especially with more friends unlocking neighbor actions and leaving you seedlings.
I was feeling this way too until I did a quick flip through my neighbors and saw that most of my neighbors have about the same or fewer number of items as me. So I think everyone who seems to be breezing though is doing it with donuts. Don’t despair – we will catch up!!

I’m so confused.. I’ve finished all tasks. Have the 4 things checked marked, but have no clue what I’m doing. What do the 4 things do? Where are they.??
The daily tasks? When you’ve completed them you need to go back to Cecil to clear them for the day and then you’ll see come back tomorrow in the daily task menu..

I finished all the daily tasks, have upgraded to Level 2, but so far i only have 1020 spade. Am i missing something? 1235 spades a day seems like its going to be hard, and I play A LOT.
Once you’re at Level 3 and move forward in the questline you’ll unlock the Mutant Veggies spawning in your town. You’ll earn more spades from them and from seedlings left in your friend’s towns (and that they leave for you)
I’m at exactly the same place as you, stuck until I can upgrade the research centre to level 3. This stage is frustrating!

Bunny, should we upgrade Monsanto and use up the fertilizer bags and corn! I did not see the update until this morning and don’t think I will be able catch up enough to get Springfield Farms. On another blog, the blogger wrote that the update has been going on since the 13th and a player should have close to 3,400 fertilizer bags by the end of today, the 15th. I have less than 400. Should I even bother trying?
Ummmm WHAT??!!! The Event JUST launched. Yesterday round 1PM EST. Someone is pulling your leg. And NO, you should NOT be that far unless you are willing to sacrifice donuts. A regular player had to go through a couple tasks just to unlock the Event fully, let alone start progressing. Someone pushing you to go that fast is very misleading and causing unnecessary panic. There are steps in this Event and each step has to be unlocked to get items needed.
As far as Monsarno, that is what you should focus on upgrading as you can as Characters will have more tasks unlocked as you do to help. Not to mention Level 3 Unlocks neighbor visits.

They’re talking rubbish. I downloaded the update the instant it hit the store and I haven’t had more than 5 minutes between jobs.
It’s also 7 hours later than your reply that I’m posting this and i have collected a total of 334 fertilizer bags.
Ignore them. I have neighbours that haven’t even downloaded the update yet but I’m sure they’ll be fine – they always are! That person who told you that is wrong.
I understand that the Monsarno building levels are capped at 7 for phase 1. After that you can spend on crafting or whatever until phase 2, though ideally keep at least some aside for the first upgrade in phase 2. It’s unquestionably a good idea to prioritize leveling Monsarno because each level grants additional jobs that will provide more resources that can be put towards more upgrades or crafting, so you’ll actually get to craft stuff faster.
I’m starting to think this game has a thing for statues and castles? lol
Am I the only one who finds this event extremely confusing? So many different things going on at once! Thank you for the calender and all the other explanatory posts. Without them I would be completely lost!

I’m only on 800 spades. Sigh. Stupid bleeding job. Haha. Finished todays tasks with 2 mins spare. And have an hour one now. Do I stay up to finish it, or sleep, with the risk of missing the last one of the day. Dilemma.
