In between the Cervezas you may be enjoying today, you may have noticed we got a few new premium additions to our game this morning.
These items should be hanging around our games until the Terwilliger Event leaves Springfield…so you’ve got some time to decide. Of course we’ll break them all down in Should I Buy posts in the coming days, but for now let’s give a quick overview of the new premium goodies to hit our store…
Rolling Rock- 80 Donuts. Adds 3.5% Bonus to all Cash and XP
Five Corners- 70 Donuts. Adds .50% Bonus to all Cash and XP
Captain Bob- 100 Donuts. Premium Skin for Sideshow Bob (will earn 50% more cash and XP on his jobs)
And a few more of these guys to make Sideshow Bob’s life “fun” in Springfield…
1 Rake- 7 Donuts.
3 Rakes- 18 Donuts
15 Rakes- 75 Donuts

Was hoping maybe we’d see Señor Ding Dong. It’s a stretch, but would have been a nice Cinco surprise.
If all a person wants is to boost their bonus %, rolling rock is a pretty decent deal. 10 donuts for 1% boost (nearly) seems to be the best deal that gets offered (with the exception of the Grumple balloon). 5 Corners, by comparison, makes no sense to me. So I nabbed the rolling rock.
I don’t get your math – 80 donuts for 3.5% bonus is only about .44% per 10 donuts. Jet Engine Bike is 2% for 30 donuts, which is about .67% per 10 donuts.
But I agree that, bonus-wise, the rolling rock definitely makes more sense than four corners!
Oops – left out a corner there… Should be “5 corners,” not “4 corners.” 😛

Just wanted to put it out there, since I find it funny….. so I’ve had Sideshow Bob for the last two days and I can’t resist having Bob keep walking into those rakes. Do we get to keep him and his brother, afterwards? Thanks,

Regarding Rolling Rock vs. Five Corners…
10 doughnuts can make quite the dramatic difference in bonus percentage!

Secondly, each rake 7 doughnuts and a bonus of 0.10%, right?
So 10 rakes would be 70 doughnuts (if bought separately …yeah, I know such a purchase method makes no sense, but stay with me), resulting in a cumulative 0.70% Hmm… so, if someone was to buy an item with bonus % as a factor, the Five Corners makes no sense!
Do the rakes for sale have the same .25 percentage that the rakes we were awarded as prizes have?
Yes
The rakes we got as a prize were only worth .10% each, not .25%. I’d assume the premium ones are the same as that.
Sorry…that’s on me. Should have corrected her. Yes, they’re the same rate as the prize rakes. But the rate is .10%.
Not sure if my original post sent: Has anyone else noticed that characters with the task ‘don’t care about the future’ no longer show the task highlighted in yellow and ‘stickied’ to the top of their task list? I’ve tried hard closing the app and restarting it but no luck so far.
Yup, it’s going around. No fix for it.
I unlocked Dr Robert today and after placing him my Work the Land task was de-highlighted while all the others remain highlighted. Just data for the mill… I didn’t quit the game – the menus changed during the session.
I finally got the Farmer’s Market today too. Phew. I am all shagged out after a prolonged squawk.

Yes, but only on my A game. The ‘Work the Land’ task is also no longer highlighted in that same game.
I wondered if it was because I sent Sideshow Bob on those tasks before his main quest line triggered… Whatever the case, it’s very annoying when trying to speed-farm the short tasks.
The same thing happened to me too so I contacted EA. They originally told me that those quests have expired and were no longer a priority. When I told them that my other town still had those quests active, they said a tapped out specialist will email me. Going on 12 hours and haven’t heard anything else yet.
So after waiting a little over a day, a tapped out specialist let me know that after upgrading Monsarno research center to about level 9/10, you start to lose certain quests that are marked in yellow. The more you upgrade Monsarno, the less jobs that reward fertilizer will be marked as priority. They also rewarded me with 20 donuts for contacting them so if you are patient and kind to them, you can get that too.

Email. I have contacted them before via chat and nothing but then emailed them and got 15 donuts so now any time I have a problem I email them. Twice I have been rewarded with donuts.
Great, thanks! I may just five this a try… If nothing else, the more complaints about the task demotions and disappearing task list they get, perhaps the more likely/sooner they’ll be to fix them. 🙂
I’m gonna have to wait for the reviews on the Captain Bob skin. It would seen odd I’d shoot of his tasks ate indoors when regular Bob has an outdoor task that dresses him as Captain Bob anyway.
Ahem… Take two.. “It would seem odd if all of his tasks were indoors.” I don’t know what happened in that sentence.
I purchased it today but he was already on his four hour quest so nothing has happened with it. Interestingly enough, I did not get 25xp for unlocking his outfit like you do with most other outfits.
So glad I spent 100 Donuts on a skin, so that his first task could be to go and hide in Squidport for 24hrs. 🙁
I picked up three more rakes. Had to. I’ve been wanting the Sideshow Bob, rack combination since the game began. The sound it makes and the animation are very funny.
Looks to me with all of the items containing cactus and desert sand, that some kind of desert ground cover or theme is coming. Can’t wait.
I had the same thought about the desert…hopefully it’ll happen! 🙂
would LOVE a dirt or sand tile addition! seems like all we’re getting are patches of desert to be crafted though…..

I hope they do add desert land soon, because in addition to Five Corners, Gas n Grub, and Rolling Rock, I’d love to put Beer n Brawl, Mount Carlmore and Satan’s Anvil there.
im trying to get the pet mutant plant what is the best way to get him I’m trying not to upgrad lol
Just keep grinding. There’s no other “good way” to get there. Grinding is really it..
Not excited about this selection of premium additions, may get the Captain Bob skin (although it seems over priced) mainly because it makes me think of Gilbert & Sullivan.
I’ve now got Dr Robert so at least I can start winning some more free donuts.
I think EA dropped the gas mask count to 3 intentionally so they don’t have to give out as many donuts.
Also we’re going to need new land because I know about the “Desert” patch we get….which if we want to get it….we could make a huge part of the map desert if we wanted….which would look pretty cool except the fact we got no room for it. lol…..Just saying.
a skin for bob except we dont even have him yet….or at least I dont…I dont even know how to unlock him….

Good gosh…why is everything so expensive?! I may well have invested in some rakes at say 1 donut per rake just for the fun of lining them up but meh got three for free so thankfully don’t have to …honestly sort it out and make stuff cheaper EA : /

I am doing rather well in Act 2 having unlocked Dr Robert a couple of hours ago. So hopefully some extra donuts will be heading my way as there is still 6 days to go before Act 3. Perhaps I will put some towards one of these special items…

I hope EA considers either adding 2 strips of land or letting players migrate COC, Superhero & Equalia items to Krusty Land. Missed $ opportunity if you can’t get premium items due to lack of space IMHO -_-

Totally in agreement, Sandra! I don’t usually complain about EA’s pricing on things, but a lot of these items are a bit too steep, in my opinion. 100 donuts for a skin again, and rakes costing 5-7 donuts apiece? Wow. I was hoping for 1 donut each, therefore assuming 3 donuts each and was going to scoop up a handful, but this is too steep for me. I may pick up one or two, if my willpower gives out before the end of the event, and I’ll almost definitely get Rolling Rock (because it cracks me up, assuming it’s animated, and it’s from such a classic episode), but I think I’ll be passing on the skin, the rakes in general, and Five Corners. (70 donuts, takes up a lot of precious land, and only a 0.5% bonus??)
Sigh.
Still stoked to have a Sideshow Bob event, but a bit disappointed in the premium pricing on these Act 2 items. It’s a shame, too- the skin is from one of my (easily) top 5 favorite episodes of all time (Cape Feare).
But who knows? Maybe details in the SIB will change my mind on that one. Doubtful, but hey, there’s always a chance. 🙂
i may pick up the rolling rock for its classic status and decent bonus, just dunno where it’d go in my town…
100 donuts for a skin… this is just criminal, and i’m not talking about bob.
Got rolling rock and was pleasantly surprised at it’s size, not too big at all (I’m lacking in land) but not so small that it looks weird.
But bob’s captain skin…I hope it’s just a glitch, but for me his other perform at opra task (with the captain skin on) is not visual…he goes to the opra and the curtain lifts but then he’s not on stage…. disappointing if this is the case and it’s not visual. But at least he has 2 other visual tasks…one in front of squidport and the other walking around the town (won’t spoil doing what exactly in case people want to be surprised)
Bob’s not on-stage?!?!? I really hope that changes for Act III, otherwise what’s the point of a large stage? I was hoping for a Terwilliger operetta utilizing multiple characters like the Nativity scene or the Radioactive Man monument. *fingers crossed Waiting for SIB for Captains skin. That’s a lot of sprinkles if Bob already has a visual task with it on.
DOH!!!!!!!! I won donuts on golden scratcher and bought Captain Bob. He does have a quest line of sorts and his first job is to go yachting for 24 hours. Would it have killed you EA to make a little animation of Bob bobbing about in a dingy in the harbor? I was really hoping we would finally get to see animation on a water source that wasn’t just stationary or dumb like the whale. MAJOR FAIL EA. I like the skin but another missed opportunity to add something special.
Lol. Can’t believe that Sideshow Bob is barely out and they already had planned an alt for him. Seems EA is really trying to milk this event for Sideshow Bob fans. 🙂

And I got Lard Lads in a mystery box yesterday!! Which is good cause I’ve had the Christmas skin for it sitting in my inventory for a few months now lol

I assume the rolling rock is animated on tap… is it a good investment for the %? I still have trouble figuring out the average doughnut to % ratios. >_<
It is a nice bonus%. I’ll break it all down in the SIB post for it…still have to get it and play around with it first.
Rolling rock moves all the time whether you tap it or not
I base it on the cheapest donut spend to percentages earned. In this case I use the Outline as a reference. If for 5 donuts I get .25% I just do the math to see if the premium object is worth it. Like the ones thatt cost 70 donuts but only pay out .50% I’d rather get the outlines since I would get more for my 70 donuts
You’d get a lot more of a bonus % for your donuts getting 2 jet engine bikes, than a bunch of outlines!
These 2 new items don’t look like they belong in the town. We need a big land expansion, a sand option to put down on the ground and Springfield gorge would be nice to have.
5 corners is a classic item and definitely belongs in town…
I wouldn’t consider five corners classic. Besides I said it doesn’t “look” like it belongs there mainly cause of the terrain in the game.
True. It is not a classic AND ill have a krusty burger in 3 states and the flanders house in 2 states. And SO many others. Springfield is ONE state which is the state of, OH WAIT I gotta go! Bye! Although it would look cool next to Gas N Grub.
