Addicts Weekly Open Thread

Hey Howdy Hey Tappers!

Due to POPULAR request….we’ve moving up our open thread time so that our friends outside of the US can participate too!  Let’s get the conversation going!  Oh and remember…just because this is posted here today doesn’t mean you can’t comment on it all week long.  This open thread will still be open for comments long after today is over!

Now…enough rambling from me….it IS Sunday and you know what that means, right?  Time for another Open Thread!

Here’s where you can talk about anything you want to talk about…TSTO Related, Simpson’s Related or ANYTHING.  Just no Add me requests…those should go here.  We’ll give you a few suggestions (like most Sunday’s you can talk about the current episode of the Simpsons) but for the most part you’re free to talk about ANYTHING your little Tapping Fingers desire…just keep it PG.

So…here is your Open Thread.  The 26th Season of The Simpsons ended last week, what did you think of Season 26?  FXX is showing episodes featuring Sideshow Bob this weekend, how appropriate.  Will you check any of it out?  Act 3 of Terwilligers is ending this week…what were your thoughts on the event?  Sunday Night Baseball tonight features the Rangers at the Yankees, will you be watching?  NBA and NHL playoffs are both in full swing, how’s your team doing? It’s Memorial Day Weekend here in the US, and beautiful weather here on the East Coast.  How about where you are? Do anything fun this weekend?

So chat about the Simpsons, TSTO, Update fun, or anything else you can think of!  Can’t wait to chat with you all, you know we love hearing from you!

Have Fun!  And happy Sunday!

  1. Hey y’all! I’ve stalked this website long enough I thought I’d finally be interactive. I agree with most, I thought this event was hard! I got pretty much everything I wanted (farmer’s market, g&g, monsarno buildings, houseboat, smokehouse). Wish I could pick up a few more flower walls. I bought Brandine today. It just seemed like the right thing to do. I’ve been playing for years and am mostly freemium but have been known to purchase a few late night donuts… That being said, what are people’s thoughts on buying Frink vs. Luanne vs. Otto?

    • Welcome, Erin! Otto was my first premium purchase – so iconic, I just had to have him and his bus. Lots of people *love* Drink, but I’ve always found him annoying, so didn’t feel a need to have him in TSTO. People seem to love Luann’s animations, and I may get her at some point, but Otto is cheaper and I’ve never seen anyone say they were sorry they got him.

      Hope this helps! 🙂

    • 4kidsandacatdog

      All three are fun BUT Cracker Factory opens up Fleet a Pita franchising…so if I had to choose from the three I’d suggest Luann first…then take your pick from the other two. Both Frink and Otto have great visual tasks. You should probably know that Frink doesn’t really have a dialogue to go with his questline. His tasks just unlock in a certain order. I didn’t know this and was a little disappointed as I thought he could have had some great dialogue! But he’s still one of my favorite premiums.

    • Tough call between Otto and Luanne. Luanne opens the Fleet a Pita questline and buses. Otto is more iconic though, I like the School Bus as a building more than Cracker Factory, and all of his quests are in free buildings. I usually recommend Otto, and he was my first purchase as well, but Luanne is also a good choice. Go with the one you want most between them.

      Frink is an excellent purchase, but just a step below the other 2 IMO.

    • Otto all the way!

    • Fleet-a-pita ! ….. personally I couldn’t wait to do the investorettes quest and get a fleet-a-pita truck on every street corner in my town (call me odd) …it must have been one of my favourite episodes without me realising. You can also place fleet-a-pita trucks in Krustyland (only if you buy them there for tickets)

      Trouble is…the pretzel wagon is missing 🚅

  2. I’m in the group that thinks this event is “eh”. I had missed the update to start the event so I came into it a couple days behind. That kinda set the tone for me. There have been some great prizes out of this though. Also,it will be nice to not have to hunt Bob down anymore. Some of our towns are pretty big and it’s a real ordeal. I can’t believe I’m going to make this statement but, I think it’s been too much lately. The superhero event was awesome, but with the level increases and mini events for holidays and with the new mystery box adding characters (which is awesome), there hasn’t been much opporuntiy to do the regular town building stuff. OK, I’m off my soapbox.

  3. I got Brandine while she is available since she is unique and can give birth to 3 NPCs that earn money. Can’t wait to get me some of dem dare Spuckler babies runnin’ around town.

    I hope all my neighbors enjoyed me making it rain mutant seeds.

    https://www.dropbox.com/s/uh706gplfg3leah/Brandine.jpg?dl=0

    • Congrats Pimp!
      I just got her too! (I actually LOL’d at the Reba jab) which means that we can be cyber pregnant together 🙂 There’s gonna be a whole new wave of spuckler suckers running around soon!

      And I was actually just coming on here to thank you for all the “green rain” you’ve poured out recently, it’s much appreciated! 🙂

  4. I’m on the “glad event is nearly over bandwagon”. Lot of frequent tapping to grind out prizes and for crafting, so will be glad to get back to once or twice a day tapper.

    Got everything I wanted just working out how many cactus and sugarcane I need 🙂
    Got farmers, gas grub, homer decoy, house boat, extra ticket booth, 3x cactus, 4x sugarcane.

  5. kingofstillwater

    What is your guys opinion on this event. Was it good or was it bad. Whan is your guys opion on the craftable buildings; are they worth trying to get

    • Cecil’s tasks aside, I think it was decent enough. Although didn’t quite live up to the superhero event IMHO. Maybe it did, but was so soon after that event, it had alot to live up to. Cecil’s 16-20 hour day tasks didn’t help any to make it better than Superheroes that’s for sure.

  6. Crafted everything I wanted. I must say I’m over this event at this point. Hoping they dont extended. As of today I’ve stopped sending everye on event tasks & started regular tasks again. Just about to my 3rd donut bonus round.

    • Yeah, I’ve only crafted the Farmer’s Market, Gas and Grub and Houseboat.
      Missed ou on the Homer Decoy that I wanted but…
      I liked the event though! It was frustrating, but the prizes and SSB are good! I’m not sure if I want it extended, especially if I waste the rest of my crafting materials today.

  7. My final thought on this event:

    I will craft almost everything as I put the time into it, but I did not have fun along the way. The leveling format that was 2/3 of the event rewarded well at the end, but the process is uninspiring and a frustrating grind. There was a lack of storyline along the way to encourage and remind the reasons for
    grinding, and perhaps add inspiration. Just a lack of engagement along the way as we accumulate, invest back to zero, accumulate, invest back to zero, over and over again… And the avalanche of questlines (that we will all put off until later) was nothing more then major distractions… After all, we have to disrupt our sleep to complete daily tasks to stay on target, right?

    This is a mobile game for temporary in and out fun. I have played for years and understand the in`s and out`s… I played everyday and crafted almost everything. Did I have fun with this event?…NO… 2 Stars out of 5 Stars…

    • ^^^ agreed. The consumerism points were worth it and I like the opera stage. . . but come on. Enough. I’m 150 DNA from a bonus gas n’ grub, and I’ll get a couple cane fields. . . but what I’ve collected cannot all be spent at these prices for crafting. That’s no fun. I’ll see half of it go with nothing to show for it

      • They should have slashed crafting prices this final week to help those of us with a couple random thousands of resources. Lots of folks saying they almost have enough resources to craft X item(s). As much as anyone I want the event to end, but one more week won’t kill me (and by Friday I should have enough DNA to get the Homer decoy! … Friggin’ DNA, the one resource I neglected all along cause I was too preoccupied with fertilizer or masks…).

        Spot on, Lone Ranger: 2, 2.25 stars max for the simple fact that we got SSB and his magnificent rakes together in a task.

    • Truely, the only reason I would be pleased that this event happened is if the permanent existance if Sideshow Bob in the game ended that increasingly annoying, not so occasional, spawning of him that lowers the number of stars unless I keep a hundred police training walls hidden around town.

    • I have to agree with you. I’ve crafted everything I want, and am trying to burn through my remaining materials, but what I really want is more walls (sadly, I’d crafted some before the price drop), but those, like almost everything else, requires fertilizer that I just don’t have. I could craft a fourth(!) Monsarno library, because its the ONLY building that doesn’t need fertilizer….bad planning on EA’s part, in my opinion. I’m tired of the grind of this event…getting the Terwillingers and the opera was great, but the crafting was just grueling. Too little for too much. And So. Much. Corn.

  8. Ughhhh so much yard work. At least I’m pretty much done with this event. I got everything but Sugarcane, Monsarno walls and the homer decoy. To hard to craft as many cane and walls as I would want. And the decoy’s kinda meh, and I have alot of decorations for the Simpsons house already anyways.

  9. Well I’ve managed to get from 85 donuts since Thursday to 97 today hoping to get another round of bonuts tonight plus got to visit neighbours tonight’s so by the time I go bed will have brandine in my town 😀 exciting times!!

  10. I got (In crafting):

    Farmers Market
    Cane Field
    Gas N grub
    Cactus patch
    All Monsarno buildings (No extras)
    All Opera Decorations (1 extra ticket booth)

  11. I have just finished Season 26 of The Simpsons, and the Mathlete’s Feat is was a good finale for that.
    I think it’s the second episode to have an electric surge after Homer Goes to Prep School 🙂
    Anyway, I started over watching it from the 1st episode.
    I then will watch Season 27, with all of its glory 🙂

    • My favorite line was “I like it when it’s not us” – it’s one of those lines I can see myself saying to my husband in various “real life” scenarios lol!

      • I liked that line too.
        When I started watching season 1, I saw Milhouse with black hair, Smithers as black, and there’s more than these things 🙂

  12. Hey everyone,
    I just wanted to say I have always loved the way English people talk. Between the accent, the different words and different phrases, I have always found it very interesting. I love how this site has people from all over the world. It’s sooooo interesting. I was wondering though, what is Eurovision? I saw a couple people comment on it but I have never heard of it. Thanx and have fun.

    • Felicia Fancy

      It is the Eurovision Song Contest! It is held every year and countries from Europe sing awful songs, dance horribly and the commentator takes the Mickey out of everything because it’s so bad, then the voting starts and no one votes for the UK. I love it though, it’s a tradition and I watch it every year … I just need a few alcoholic beverages along the way.

      • Nobody votes for the United Kingdom because we send rubbish songs like Electro Velvet (Molly’s song last year is so far our only decent entry this decade, and that made 17th).

        But it could be worse, though – neither Austria nor Germany got any points.

      • 4kidsandacatdog

        Haha ! I saw last year’s songs online (DH is very keen to know what goes on in Europe and GB as he has family there). I couldn’t understand the appeal…I’m a trained musician and singer and I thought it was horrid all the way through! Glad to see I’m not alone!

    • wildthornberry88

      Lol no one votes fit the UK cos no-one cares about us! It’s pretty political, like a lot of eastern Europe gives top points to Russia etc.

    • You actually have heard of it, just didn’t realise it. Abba got their big start there. You can find a lot of info on Wikipedia. One of their pages gives all the winners, including Abba: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Eurovision_Song_Contest_winners

  13. I know this may really get on everyones nerves but I am hoping they don’t extend it but offer the craft items for in game cash…although I highly doubt it!

    • haha wishful thinking. i’d expect the former over the latter…….

    • Like someone else posted, after a half of a year or more, they will probably offer the lot for in-game currency (fields, walls, buildings, etc.) and donuts (decoy, Gas & Grub, Farmers Market, etc.). That said I wish I had been able to craft the decoy so I had everything, but I would have probably ended up storing it. Definitely won’t pay donuts for it. I just wish they would offer a feral seedling. I see at least one person has stored his tame one as I cannot find it anymore.

  14. Enjoying the Bank Holiday weekend 🙂 Tried to watch Eurovision last night but even Graham Norton couldn’t save it for me.

    As the event draws to a close there are some things I liked and some I didn’t.
    Positives: I think the quest line was better than the previous event, in the Superheroes event it seemed that you only got two tasks per act so I’m happy that there was more in this one. We finally got Sideshow Bob as a playable character!
    Negatives: I like crafting but it has been over done this time, it would’ve been nice if at least one of the smaller decos had been for in-game cash. Also needing so many characters on currency earning tasks while also using the same groups for the daily tasks over complicated things – both had worked reasonably well in the past in isolation but it’s been a bit of a pain trying to juggle the two.

  15. WooHoo! I just noticed that my second farmer’s market finally maximized my Consumerism rating and brought me up to a 5-star Conform-o-Meter for the very first time! 🙂

    • coulda just had a few extra kwik-e-marts out until you did that… but cool! 😉

      • Not a fan of KEM farms and I already had as many as would make “sense” in my town. And I didn’t feel driven to hit 5 stars…I’ve been at 4.5 stars for ages and the extra .5% bonus never seemed like that big a deal to me. I just thought it was fun that I finally got there! 🙂

      • i said a few extra, not a farm…. and if you didn’t care about the 0.5% additional bonus, lemme ask you this: would you store away 10 of those spooky walls (0.5% total bonus) you loved crafting for the bonus simply because they didn’t “make sense” in your town? in fact, would you ever store away ANY premium items that contain any kinda bonus multiplier? or would you make sure to find a place for them regardless because of that multiplier? if you ask me, temporarily having a few extra kwik-e-marts scattered around town until more consumerism boosting buildings are acquired seems like a small price to pay, especially if you were so close that you only needed another farmers market to reach 5 stars.

      • The trick is not to display the extra items, but hide them. Everyone loved tapping on Kong Kong’s building when I had a KEM behind it. It was almost always tapped every time I went online.

      • I put out as many KEMs as I could fit without it looking “unnatural” (two KEMs on the same block, for example). Remember, my town is much smaller than yours! The spooky walls were an entirely different story…always much easier to use multiples of those than of entire buildings (and easy enough to hide extras behind buildings…I don’t really have anywhere to hide an entire Kwik-E-Mart!).

    • Congrats on 5 stars! I have also been at 4.5 stars for probably 2 years, only thing holding me back from 5 is that half a star from Consumerism. I think farms of any type are a bit tacky looking.

      • Thanks, Matt! Of course it’ll probably be gone when Level 53 comes out… 😉

        I built two of the farmers market so I could have a farmer’s market that didn’t just look like one roadside stand. In my town, they have a farmer’s market on the common every Saturday (except in winter), and there are lots of different vendors spread out over about a quarter of the common. I also really liked the look of the farmers market….from what I’ve read here, I think I’m in the vast minority for finding that the best of the craftables (my second choice would be the houseboat).

      • who said anything about a farm? just spread a few more throughout your town, maybe give some of them gas station additions…… it’s not that tough, but if you don’t care about the 5 stars, neither do i 🙂

      • You’re very welcome, Sandra! And I just meant a big group of the same building, any type being a different building.. I wasn’t specifically talking about the Farmer’s Market.

      • sandra, for the record the farmers market is also my favorite. was even tempted to craft a third until i decided i needed some cactus patches.

    • WOOHOO!! Congratulations, Sandra!! I’m doing the same thing- I have my second one building now, and if that one doesn’t do the trick, I’ll have to forego the Welcome sign (which I reeeaaallly want) and craft a second G&G.
      So excited for you!!! 😀

      tapebelt- I’m the same as Sandra in that I don’t like having large numbers of the same item, so I get it. And honestly, the only reason I’m looking forward to the next event is to see what you do with your town. You’re easily in my top 3 favorite neighbors for design. But I do feel like a slacker when I see your stuff. 😉

  16. Any news of a donut sale??? I gotta get me some Brandine!!

  17. It’s bank holiday weekend so I’m on my second day off out of three. Yesterday I spent doing the garden, doing a tip run in my car with all the rubbish we cleared and then building a new desk ready to use for September. I’m now drinking alcohol and thinking about watching The Theory of Everything on dvd tonight. Along with possibly re-jigging my Springfield so it looks more like a town instead of a jumbled mess again. I’m not going to nuke it though.

  18. Mandy (amandajane797)

    Hello fellow Addicts 😃 I need help!. I’m a freemium player (level 52) so donuts are precious. I’ve managed to amass 181 and was planning on getting the cracker factory but am now dithering having seen Brandine reappear for a short time. Not bothered about any of the other premium items from the event.
    Any thoughts?
    Thank you!

    • Take your time and then get the one you really think about the most. That is the one you really want. You will get the others soon enough.

    • Get Brandine, because people that want her typically regret passing her up.

    • I have both, and while I like Brandine, I LOVE Luann. She has some great outdoor tasks (Jacuzzi Suit, Wear the Flag, Hamster Ball), comes with the Factory (always good to have another cash earning building), unlocks the Fleet A Pita trucks (which can also go in Krustyland), and opens a premium task for Kirk. And I really just feel Milhouse needs his mom. He has enough problems without her!

      • SAVE THEM

      • I wonder why her quest is called The Investorettes? Also, I’ve noticed that whenever Doctor Hibbert finishes a task he sometimes says “The best thing about being a doctor is helping people for giant amounts of money.” Is it just me or does giant sound like drying? I mean, it sounds to me like he’s saying drying when he says it.

      • @philocleon – omg, until I read your comment I always thought hibbert says “the best part about being a doctor is helping people ‘SPEND’ giant amounts of money”, but it never sounded quite right and your way makes a lot more sense! I’m totally embarrassed now! 😄

    • Personally I’d go for Brandine, as you said, limited time, and once you go through the questline, you can birth 3 more characters. With the Cracker Factory, although I believe it has a payout every so many hours, you only get one character. Not to mention it isn’t limited time, so can get in the future and not miss out.

    • I would get Brandine now and re save for the cracker factory …only because you never know they may not offer her again and Luanne is a permanant fixture : )

    • Someone stole my burrito™

      Well, that’s up to you of course. I consider Brandine Spuckler to be a classic character. Plus she gives birth to three little ( funny ) little NPC Spucklers.

    • i don’t regret buying brandine; she’s limited time and basically 4 characters in one. but be prepared to not use her for the first 9 months if you’re planning on birthing all the spuckler kids. i knew this going into the purchase of course, but i guess i’m just not a fan of watching her walk around my town chain smoking cigarettes while pregnant. i know, weird right?

    • Mandy (amandajane797)

      Thank you everyone! Having read all your comments I’m leaning towards Brandine. – she may not come back as you said! Fingers crossed for some donuts in the next few mystery boxes!

    • I know I’m echoing a lot of replies here, but… GET BOTH!!! Splurge and get Brandine now, since she’s limited time, and I can say from personal experience I regretted not getting her before. (I did pick her up last time she was offered, though, and I’m halfway through her second pregnancy. Little Spucklers are great because they’re like tiny moving buildings that take up no space and give you money. 🙂 )
      Then work on Luann. I think she’s honestly my favorite premium purchase. Except for during events (because you never know when EA will throw some random twist at you), I keep her on her 24-hour mega-globe task. She has great outdoor animated tasks in addition (the flag, the jacuzzi suit), AND when you have the cracker factory, Kirk gets an 8-hour premium payout (indoor) task, so it’s like adding 2 premium characters. So my vote is, snatch up Brandine while you can, and then set your sights on Luann with no other distractions! 🙂 Happy tapping!

  19. When does the event end? It says prizes leave in 3 days, but i thought the event was to go on through to he 5th June. Will we still be able to send characters out on crafting jobs? and earn donuts for 3000 musical notes?

    And I have today as a fremium player now got all the premium items from the new mystery box. Got Kearney this morning so now I assume I am going to get loads of cars now until they change it again

  20. I’m just about done crafting for the event. So far I have crafted/received: 5 ticket booths that I have place at the Sun Sphere, Superior squad HQ, opera stage, Knowledgeum, and Itchy and Scratchy studios; 3 farmers markets, 2 Gas-n-Grubs, 1 houseboat, and 3 cane fields (soon to be 4). I’ve placed the cane fields in front of the Simpsons family farm. I’ve been trying really hard to keep my Springfield functional and attractive. I stayed away from the Sani-John smokehouse, and some of the other stuff,because I don’t think they add much to the look that I’m trying to achieve for my Springfield.

    Overall I’ve been satisfied with my haul from this weird event.

    • I sorry if I bothering you, but the Superior Squad HQ is fully unrelated to Terwilligers event, because it was the first thing you had to build in Superheroes event.

      • he said he placed a ticket booth, which he crafted from this event, in front of the superior squad hq, as well as those other buildings that didn’t come with this event.

      • I think LM was saying that he/she placed the ticket booths in front of the buildings.

      • I think L.M. was just saying where they were placed. Several of those locations predated this event, but they make sense as places that might have ticket booths (or security booths).

      • wildthornberry88

        They mean they put a ticket booth in front of it. I like how you didn’t seem to notice they also mentioned putting one in front of the studio & the knowledgeum lol… seeing as they are technically “unrelated”…

      • Wow! Look what happened when there was a tiny delay in moderation!

    • Hey all. Thanks for all of the comments. I would like to say that I don’t always place all of the things that I earn or win for any particular event together in one place. I like to play around with things, and sometimes mix and match. So yes….I placed some of the ticket boots in front of some other buildings where I thought it would look cool or interesting or logical. Also- I think the ticket booth does well as a security booth too.

  21. Half my town just started going black. Like half my items just don’t appear anymore.

    Anyone having that issue?

  22. I can’t be happier that Act 3 is ending. Maybe I’m a bahhumbug about it, but this was the WORST event ever. I’m looking forward to being able to easily send characters on jobs without first having to scroll down all those highlighted tasks.

    • I honestly don’t mind the event, but what would make it better, was if Cecils daily tasks wern’t so demanding that we need to lose sleep to ensure completing them all. At least cut them back to 4 hours at most.

    • Someone stole my burrito™

      Agreed. WORST event ever. Just not fun.

    • can’t wait to hear how happy you are about the next act…

      • Wait, I’m still catching up on posts from the last couple days so maybe I missed it – is there going to be an Act IV starting tomorrow? Or did you mean the next event?

    • No, not worst event ever. That award still belongs to the random Easter of 2014! That said, as much as I liked the concept of this event, it was too intense for me in that I just didn’t have time to do everything or earn everything. I managed to finish Acts I and III but not Act II. On top of that, I haven’t even crafted any major prizes yet due to lack of fertilizer, DNA, and masks. But I have SSB and a giant grasshopper, so that’s better than I did during Easter 2014.

    • I’m happy it is coming to end! Not that the event itself was that horrible (but certainly not my favorite), it’s just that I am just so tired of all the ‘hunting & gathering’ events.

  23. So what are you Terwilliger totals?

    Mine are
    * All 3 acts cleared
    * When up 15+/- levels
    * Sani-John Smokehouse
    * Welcome Bob Sign
    * Springfield Farmers Market
    * Gas and Grub
    * Simpson Houseboat
    * Extra Monsarno Chimp Resources
    * Extra Monsarno Library

    Working on
    * Extra Monsarno Cafeteria (Maybe shot, everyone is doing Fertilizer need 3k)
    * Extra Outdoor Opera Ticket Booth (might get it)

    Missed
    * Homer Decoy – Sadly not enough characters to get enough DNA AND masks in time (could get one or the other in time), had to settle for extra Monsarno buildings

    • I believe this event required more grinding than in any other event so far. It was downright hard. I just could never earn enough fertilizer to upgrade the Research building and craft at the same time. Didn’t feel the need to craft duplicate Monsarno buildings. They better earn in-game cash or I will have to think super hard whether to let them take up all that much space for free or not.

      But, here’s my accomplishments:
      * All 3 acts finished
      * Monsarno Lvl 24, Opera Stage Lvl 7, Squirter Lvl 9
      * Gas and Grub
      * Simpson’s Houseboat
      * 2 Flower Walls (working on a third)
      * 3 donuts from one round of One Final Note

  24. So now that the Terwilliger event is starting to wrap up, its time to give my final thoughts.

    I love the idea of the event, seriously what’s not to love about SSB? However the actual event… meh.

    Cecils daily tasks took over your whole day, it would have been nice if they had limited it to 3 tasks day (like the xmas event) .

    The crafting requirements were very high, and like a true addict I haven’t stopped tapping. I made the decision to focus on upgrade (as suggested by Alissa, Bunny and Wookie) before crafting and I think it truly paid off. While the idea of some of the decorations is nice (the welcome bob sign and the homer decoy) I knew that after the event I would simply store them. Property is expensive and I’d rather have something out that will make me moolah. Having said that I have managed to craft 3 farmers markets, 2 gas & grubs and 1 house boat.

    I love all the characters we unlocked! I can’t wait to watch SSB step on rakes for hours on end… LOL.

    It was an okay event, but I think I’m okay that its ending. I am looking forward to a bit of a brake… however having said that I will be waiting semi-patiently for the next event.

    • What may be even better still, is if he gave the 3 tasks all at once, and you didn’t have to wait for one to finish, to start another, just my two cents.

    • It would also have been nice if the 24hrs started with the first task, especially for those who, like me, can’t be awake at midnight.

    • I am amazed how you were able to craft 45,000 fertilizer worth of Farmer’s Markets.. Thats insane to me, having to upgrade the Research building, the most fertilizer I ever had at one time was around 8000ish.. I was never able to get even one.

      • All I can say it was a lot of 2 am tapping, and I think at last count I have 79 characters. Upgrades really helped and I made sure I followed the suggested stop levels for them.

  25. Just another Sunday… still a little short on DNA. I am trying to get the Homer decoy. I also have to get a few more masks (by few I mean ALLOT). To be honest, I’m really not interested in the G&G. Nor the farmers’ market. I got the houseboat & the Bob sign, which was really all I wanted. Hopefully EA will extend the event.

  26. Help!

    I’m running out of time and I need to get an answer to this question (which I posted elsewhere, but didn’t get a response to): Does “regular” Willy now have a task with his tractor? I know he didn’t when the tractor first came out, but I thought I saw someone post that he does now, but I don’t know whether that’s just with bare-chested Willie. Can anyone clarify which Willy, if any, has a task with the tractor? Bonus points for a description of what the task is (if one exists)! 🙂

    • No, he doesn’t.

    • Haven’t checked tasks, but he has a quest that involves tractor once its unlocked, if that’s any indication. Don’t think regular Willy has any though

    • yeah, someone please reply with a description of what the task is. for the life of me, i can’t seem to get an answer to that question. i mean, does he just work on the tractor where it sits, or does he actually get on it and ride it around town??

      • There’s a short quest with the tractor, but no permanent task once the quest is complete…and no animation with any of them.

      • Hey everyone,
        I have the tractor but not bare chested willie but from what I read bare chested willie has a task with the tractor but as with when a character has a task in a building, it’s not visual. I haven’t seen it myself but it is what I read. Thanx and have fun.

      • Thanks, k – that clinches my decision not to get bare-chested Willy. Might still get the tractor though, since it’s so iconic and I found myself wishing I had it when I was watching the last episode…

      • K just made this a super-easy decision for me. 344 donuts, and having trouble narrowing down what to grab without spending them all.
        I’ll tell you what, though… My only premium purchase regret is that whale. I got it when I first started playing because I didn’t want to add neighbors (silly, SILLY me!! I love my neighborinos!!) and before I discovered this site (which has saved me countless donuts and much of my sanity). That whale, I swear, it haunts me… 😉

      • @k, very much appreciate the reply. I probably wasn’t gonna spend the donuts on a willie skin just for that anyway, but now i know I’ll have no regrets about it. Besides, once this event is over, slave labor willie will go right back to manually generating electricity for my town 24/7.

    • Does anyone know what bare-chested Willy’s tractor task looks like? Does he actually drive around in it? 60 donuts is more than I’d usually pay for a skin, but, since I’m already considering getting the tractor, I wonder if it’s worth going all in and getting that skin to go with it?

      • Just a red tractor with “Willie” painted on the side, think it makes engine noise when tapped

      • Bangles Dupree

        Smoke comes out of the tractor but he doesn’t ride it. It doesn’t go anywhere. I am really happy I got bare-chested Willie! He has a fun task using his washboard abs to do laundry. The questline is fun and I’m not sure how many of the tasks will remain after that. To me this purchase was worth it, but I am a big fan of Willie! And the Farmers Market!

    • Might need our fearless leaders to weigh in. Could’ve sworn I saw BCW doing something with the tractor in a neighbor’s town a few days ago, but that might be the one time quest ‘k’ refers to. If I could track it down in a neighbor’s town and capture it for you, I would! I only have the tractor and really like it. It’s currently refueling at the Gas and Grub next to the farmers market 🙂

  27. Felicia Fancy

    Happy Sunday to all! I am enjoying a great 3 day bank holiday weekend here in the U.K. Eurovision last night and a party at the park tomorrow … perfect!

    I am a little bit upset that I am not going to get enough DNA for the Welcome Bob sign. I don’t love it, I just have everything else so my completion OCD is kicking in 😯

    • Love Eurovision (I know sad right) and watch it every year …we have even had partys over the years : D

      To top it all I actually won my bet on the winner Sweden! Yahoo. Not real bookies bet but bets amongst friends lol really good clean sing a long fun!

    • Eurovision was great this year…but I didn’t love the winning entry. I liked Serbia and Georgia, and I even quite liked Germany, who came joint bottom with nul points! But it was a fun night. My poor husband was exhausted from working all day and passed out at 10pm though 🙂 today I’ve been enjoying the coverage of the Radio 1 Big Weekend, love a bit of chart pop!

  28. Any Intel if the event will actually end tomorrow? Picking up a few more walls and cane fields and it looks like I’m going to get the houseboat without much additional effort. Looking forward to some event-free days to do a redesign and play around with my new characters’ tasks.

  29. Not really having fun with this. No place to put anything. Need land.

  30. *waves hello* …happy Sunday addicts!

    • *waves hello back* Happy Sunday to you, too, Brooders (and a happy long weekend, if you’re in the U.S.)!

      I’m sitting here feeling all fat and happy after having the most delicious “brunch” (at home)….a really good sesame bagel topped with cream cheese, capers, and lox, some pumpkin spice bread (the muffin-y type of “bread”), and a cup of coffee. YUM! 😀

      • do you have a preferred coffee of choice and/or brewing method?

      • Tape – I’m not really much of a coffee “snob,” and rather a lightweight when it comes to caffeine. I don’t like a bitter brew (so none of the really dark roasts), so I guess I lean towards a basic, medium roast. I don’t like my coffee too weak-tasting (“needs more brown crayon,” in the words of Linus (Charlie Brown?), although that was really about hot chocolate), but it doesn’t need to be super-strong either. (That’s what I like about Starbucks…I can buy a small (i.e. “tall”) coffee and pour it into one of their large cups of ice, making a less expensive large cup of iced coffee. But I don’t often feel the need to spend Starbucks prices…the McDonald’s in New England use Newman’s Own choice and only charge $1 for any size cup, so that’s fine for me when I’m out and about.

        When I need caffeine, I drink a mix of 2/3 decaf and 1/3 caf – That’s about as much Vaseline as my system can usually tolerate and usually does the trick for me. After 4pm, it’s strictly decaf only.

        As for brewing method, from a drinking standpoint, I guess I don’t really care – I’m not sure I’ve had anything but drip in a very long time – but, from a cost and ecological standpoint, those Keurig-type things annoy me.

        Oh – I guess the one way in which I am a coffee snob is that I hope never to return to the old days of instant coffee granules lol!

        I’m guessing that, since you asked the question, you have definite opinions on the subject…care to share? 😉

      • Sandra, I’m coming to brunch at your house next Sunday! 😉

        tapebelt- not sure if you’re just making conversation or have any particular coffee questions, but here’s a tip about Keurig if you’re interested. If not, skip on, my friend. 😉
        I’m disabled and have two (incredible) caregivers, my mom and my husband. They split the work load of helping me do what I can and also taking care of what I can’t. (If I have to be primarily bed-bound, I’m VERY lucky to have the assistance I do.) Now that the backstory is out of the way- I’m personally a fan of the French press but haven’t had it in years. They don’t care, so I won’t ask. 😉 I like a medium-dark or dark roast, and living in New Orleans, sometimes I’ll even do a little coffee and chicory for a bitter bite. The key to me is the right amount of milk, creamer, or cream so the coffee has a little body to it.
        Recently, my husband broke his leg and my mom’s having some health problems of her own, so it’s every man for themselves, lol. I’m amazed we’re alive at this point. 😉 We have a keurig, which is good for when you just want a single cup and don’t want to brew a pot, but I’ve found it’s not ideal for daily use. I’ve had it in the bedroom for the last few weeks (for convenience- I can’t make it out to the kitchen every day), and after about 2 weeks of daily use, my coffee has started tasting “blah.” Problem is: it’s VERY difficult to clean. With a regular coffee maker, I can just run a vinegar/water mixture through it and then a few batches of water to clean it all out. While you can do that with a Keurig, there are also TINY holes that need to be cleaned out regularly, and to do that, you need to use a straightened paperclip or some other tiny device. It’s delicate and meticulous work. So… great for occasional use, but a hassle for everyday brewing.
        I have no idea why I’m rambling. Good lord, I need a nap. 😉

      • hehe appreciate ya’ll sharing, i was just making conversation kat. i hope everything works out for you and yours, and that you find an optimal solution for your coffee needs (maybe see below?). and i wouldn’t consider myself a coffee snob either sandra; for fun i did a quick google search and found a site with a list (http://www.foodrepublic.com/2013/06/18/13-signs-youre-coffee-snob), and i only checked one of the marks (#4) because i drink my hot coffee black… after all, it’s the only way to taste the true flavor of the coffee!

        as you’ve surmised though, i do have a few definite opinions on coffee and the way i drink it at home. i prefer my beans medium-dark to dark roasted, with low to no acidity. whole beans only, ground before each cup. been using an aeropress for a few years, and it’s the only way i brew coffee at home now. if you’re not familiar with the product, i strongly recommend you guys check it out. similar to a french press, it utilizes air pressure to extract more flavor, without all the grit. it brews a single cup at a time (which can be good or bad depending on your needs — kat?), is super easy to clean, and most importantly, allows the brewer more control over their cup of coffee (water temp, steep time, etc). in short, it allows me to consistently brew some of the best tasting coffees i’ve ever had, hands down. and i don’t need to be a hipster to do it! 😉

    • Hello back at ya! 🍐 🍐 🍐.

    • “Waves back”

      We had our long weekend last week ( Canada). I’m coming out of my fog from surgery and meds, they really fog ones mind!

      Sandra, I recall seeing a post regarding Willy and his tractor. Seems to me bare chested Willy was able to use it once you bought the skin.

      Julie, appreciate all your little green jelly globs you’ve dropped in my town. I’ve been trying to keep up with reciprocating!

      Enjoying a beautiful sunny day here in British Columbia, from the lazy boy. Still have to keep knees elevated…yawn! 😴

      Val

      • Hi Val.
        Good to read your recovery is coming along well. No need to reciprocate on the 🍐 just happy to drop them off to say a little hello.

        I’m enjoying my Sunday off in not so sunny today Southern California tapping my town crazy as the clock runs out on our event. I work tomorrow, Memorial Day, so trying to craft what I can with the time left so I can rearrange my town.
