Oh and remember…just because this is posted here today doesn’t mean you can’t comment on it all week long. This open thread will still be open for comments long after today is over!
Now…enough rambling from me….it IS Sunday and you know what that means, right? Time for another Open Thread!
Here’s where you can talk about anything you want to talk about…TSTO Related, Simpson’s Related or ANYTHING. Just no Add me requests…those should go here. We’ll give you a few suggestions (like most Sunday’s you can talk about the current episode of the Simpsons) but for the most part you’re free to talk about ANYTHING your little Tapping Fingers desire…just keep it PG.
So…here is your Open Thread. The 26th Season of The Simpsons ended last week, what did you think of Season 26? FXX is showing episodes featuring Sideshow Bob this weekend, how appropriate. Will you check any of it out? Act 3 of Terwilligers is ending this week…what were your thoughts on the event? Sunday Night Baseball tonight features the Rangers at the Yankees, will you be watching? NBA and NHL playoffs are both in full swing, how’s your team doing? It’s Memorial Day Weekend here in the US, and beautiful weather here on the East Coast. How about where you are? Do anything fun this weekend?

Argh! I’m a little under 1,000 notes away from a final round of bonuts, but, with my red box task being a 12-hour one that I won’t be able to do and Cecil’s tracks being 16 hours worth that I won’t be able to finish, it’s looking doubtful that I’m going to make it without a massive infusion of mutant seeds or something.
On that note, I don’t have any plans to go out today, so I should be around all day to squish seeds, if anyone’s looking for a more or less guaranteed place to drop off seeds for maximum effect. I should be playing until around 10pm tonight (maybe a little later, due to some pretty bad time slippage on my neighbor visits), so feel free to drop them by, if you want. (Please don’t take this as “begging for seeds”…several of my neighbors have been more than generous with me during this event and I know they’ve given me far more than I’ve been able to reciprocate! I just thought I’d share this info in case someone’s looking for a win-win scenario to finish out the event with.)
Just realized that you don’t get notes from seeds, but I’m still happy to tap them for anyone/everyone! 🙂
Finished with this event yesterday morning – as in I got all that I wanted out of it – and I’m completely over it. Think EA broke the golden rule on this event: it just wasn’t fun. It has left me not wanting to even look at my Springfield today (spent the day improving Krustyland) Would love if EA would hold off on rushing headlong into the next event and just think it through better. Then make sure everything runs smoothly before unleashing it on an already put upon player base. IMHO they are in danger of killing the goose here. There’s a balance to be had between keeping the game interesting & engaging and overload.

I wish the items required less materials, I managed to get several items that I wanted, but I would need a LOT more materials to make the rest, and I actually liked these ones. I also wanted to craft two extra Monsarno buildings to give my site a nice shape, but I’m satisfied with how I have it. One item that was a difficult choice was the Smokehouse or the Market. The Smokehouse looked quite funny and it suited an area in my town but I chose the Market as it earns, and it looked nice. I wish we had more time as I wouldn’t be able to get all of the items(I doubt anyway) but I could have made some more that I wanted. I’m glad I waited until now to craft anything though as I was able to make more given that they reduced some of the costs.

Just wondering, but since it is Memorial Day in the States, any chance the presidents are in the files and could be released at some point today?
Usually not today, 4th of July is usually when they release the presidents

I’ve heard that Harry Shearer the voice of Mr.Burns, Flanders, Principal Skinner, Smithers, Rev. Lovejoy, Kent Brockman, Dr.Hibbert, Lenny, Otto, and Wolfcastle will not be returning. I’m not sure how the next 2 seasons will go. It was announced that they have renewed The Simpsons for season 27-28 and Mr.Shearer decided not to continue. He wants to work on other projects. They will be using different voice actors. We shall see. I hope this is not the end of The Simpsons as we know it!

Is there somewhere I could fine a list of the characters and npcs in order as they were introduced so I can put my town back in order? It others me that they aren’t in order anymore since I nuked my town as well as from the past couple events.

What do you mean they’re not in order? I order for what?
I mean to put them back in the order I got them in. The Order that the buildings or characters are placed is the order they will be presented in the quick menu top left. After I nuked my town to redecorate I couldn’t remember what order they went in, so I did my best when placing the buildings. And then with this event I ended up sorting a couple buildings to stop tasks so my people are jumbled different than I would like them. It’s a very personal preference.
Is it possible to finish the act two questline if I only started playing near the end of act three? If no, do I just loose out on those characters?

Pretty difficult. you’ll need Mrs. Krabappel and Mayor Quimby…which don’t start till much later.
Has anyone noticed that Homer Barbarian now has a 60min task “Drink out of Enemys skull” or something of the sort? I’m glad he’s finally got something below 4hrs!
That task requires Homer. His other skin has a one-hour task, too, to take Lisa for some veggie pizza. Unfortunately, though, he doesn’t have any 1-hour tasks all by himself.
He’s always had that… It just requires homer.
That is only if Homer is available. If Homer is on task, the 1 hour task is not available for the Barbarian.
Still frantically trying to get fertilizer and stuck with tons of corn that I don’t need. Accidentally crafted a second farmers market (I was half asleep at the time) and saw all my precious fertilizer disappear😢 Still going for the Welcome sign which I should have had days ago aaaaargh!!!! Still mustn’t grumble as crafted most things I wanted and got some bonuts. Yup like most I’ll be glad when this is over and I can get stuck into clearing the ten items in my task book☺
There should be a confirm button when crafting. I accidentally crafted a cane field when trying to scroll through items.
I’ll be glad when this event is finally over. I’ve enjoyed some aspects of it but not others.
Don’t get me wrong, I love everything I’ve managed to earn, including Sideshow Bob, however I just haven’t been able to earn enough of the crafting materials to upgrade and craft items.
Positives of the event for me have been:
* Clearing all three Acts;
* Crafting Gas & Grub;
* Crafting three cane fields that will sit very nicely with my Simpson’s Farm/Muntz House area;
* Getting various new characters, including Dame Judith, Dr Robert, and Sideshow Bob;
* Getting a new skin for Krusty (Opera Krusty);
* Being able to level up the Opera Stage enough to earn the Ticket Booth & Opera Seats; and
* Being able to level up Monsarno Research enough to get all the extra buildings (Human Resources, Library, Chimp Resources and Cafeteria).
Also while this event has been going on, I’ve been able to achieve the following:
* Went up five levels, from 36 to 41;
* Managed to build the following buildings and get new characters – DMV (Patty & Selma), Vulgari Store (Mrs Hibbert), Chocolate Factory (Miss Hoover & Cocoa Beanie), Itchy & Scratchy Studio (Robert Myers Jr), Sanjay’s House (Sanjay) and the Office of Unemployment; and
* Currently waiting for the Big Wheel to build at Krustyland and unlock Princess Penelope.
Now, while my little boy is going for a nap, I think I’ll sit and sketch out some ideas for redesigning my Springfield – at the moment, all of the new buildings that I have earned/bought/crafted are all just lumped together in a very untidy fashion – **runs off to find a sketch book and look at all of the recent showoff posts to steal some ideas, especially the 3D design tips**.
Well, I figure since this event started I have acquired eight dozen sprinkles. So, I traded those sprinkles in and got Brandine.
Hi everyone, just thought I would put my two cents in about this event. 😜😩😁😝😄 I’ll have to admit this event has made me feel every emotion u can feel… I think of just putting my iPad down and not picking it back up until this event is over, then I turn around and am back to the grind. Lol. I have been able to craft everything I want in all 12 of my towns, which is all the big items. Sure surprised me!! Now working for cane and cactus patches, but won’t be sorry to see this event end. Be so glad to put my streets back into the towns that I removed them for this event to make it easier for my friends to pop Sideshow Bob clones. I want to thank all my friends for sending those seedlings into my towns. I am sorry that I was not always able to give back so u would know that I got them. Either I didn’t have any to give, didn’t see the name with so much going up at the same time, or u were all filled up. In visiting my neighbors I have seen some awesome designs for all the new things we have crafted and just great towns overall. So looking forward to just designing my towns and visiting my neighbors everyday. And getting a good night sleep. Lol. Mary Jo

LOL. Yes, I have 12 towns, plus 2 on the side that r no names. Also, I take care of my son’s while he is on the road. He is a truck driver and doing the tasks were hard for him to keep up on. Believe me, this event has almost been my undoing. I guess u could say I am a true addict and maybe a little crazy. LOL. Or a lot crazy. Mary Jo

Just curious though…why do you end all of your posts with, “See ya bye”? I’m sure you don’t mean it that way, but it sounds kind of “dismissive” to me, like “okay, I’m done with you…you can go away now.”
D’oh! I’ve been watching The Simpsons on FXX and they just had on the episode “Brother From Another Series” I haven’t seen it in a long time.. when Bart jumped on Cecil’s back and asked “Guess Who?” Cecil replied with “Maris?” 😂 I giggled so much since I just love “Frasier”. Awesome inside joke!
I’m enjoying tonight’s episodes all revolving around Sideshow Bob. Tonight I’m feeling a little better about the whole event, especially hearing Bob being voiced while seeing all the related goodies in my town.
I am looking forward to what comes next in our game, even if we have no events for a few weeks.
Sorry I’ve tried finding this information but came up short. I’ve seen animation in people’s towns of Willie pushing a wheel. Not exactly sure what task that is, or if I require a wheel in order for him to use it?

Hello Addict, that is what you saw, it was the Manual Power Generator, from The Musk Who Fell To Earth Promotional, a tie-in for the Season 26 episode with the same name.
It was costed $4000,and it was the key item for The Devil and the FCC quest line, which is involved Willie.
I was just started the game in that Promotional, at 2015 January 20th.

I believe that.s an episode tie in. I think it’s called the manual power generator and it came with a skin for willie(slave labor willie) and if I remember correctly it was $5,000 in game cash. I keep my manual power generator in storage as I have yet to find a suitable location.
You need the wheel. It was an episode tie in gift a few months back.

I’m watching FXX this evening – they have a Sideshow Bob theme going on and i love when what ever they show coincides with what we’re playing. I wonder if they’re playing too?

*squeal* I just scored six – SIX – donuts while visiting friends. I got two in one town. That sure makes up for the times I’ve gotten zero or one. It’s like making a dollar just for playing the game! *happy sigh*

I missed the update and entered the game a few days late (when they finally force u to update…and cuz I got a new phone and forgot to put in my settings to automatically update) which is why I’m sure I’m not getting everything I wanted…it was a very difficult event…but I finally got the Simpsons boat house today…I’m hoping to be able to get st least 1 cactus tomorrow and gave up on the fake Homer…
I’m also hoping they don’t get rid of cecil
Now there’s a good chance this has already been pointed out, but I was wondering if anyone had noticed that the Monsarno farming license countdown shows 10 days left whereas everything else says 1 day. Do you think this means there is more to come?
Okay, fellow addicts – need some advice here…
I have a Gas and Grub. I don’t have any flower walls. It looks like I’ll have only enough fertilizer to get either a second Gas and Grub or 4 flower walls? Which would you choose and why?
My original plan was to craft a lot of flower walls, but after I crafted one I was very disappointed with how it looked. So I’ve decided to craft a second framer’s market and I have enough for 2 more gas and grubs. The rest of my materials will probably be split between cane fields and cactus patches.
G&G, for the consumerism points. I know you just hit 5 stars, but all it takes is for level 53 to drop with an increase in C-points for the C-O-M, and you’re back to 4.5.
My vote? Stay ahead of the curve. 🙂
Unless, of course, you really want the flower walls. Do what makes you happy. 😀
unless you have some master plan for 4 wall pieces, i’d say gas and grub no question.
Thank, Michelle, katg, and tape – I really appreciate your advice! I was leaning ever so slightly towards the flower walls (mostly because I didn’t have any and thought I could use them to accent something), but I had completely forgotten about the consumerism points for the Gas and Grub and agree that it’s a good idea to stay ahead of the curve in that! I’d also seen other posts from folks like you, Michelle, who were disappointed by the way the walls looked. Plus, I think there’s a chance that they might be available for cash someday (like the Easter fences were recently I, but very unlikely that that would ever be true of the Gas and Grub. So, all in all, it seems clear now that the Gas and Grub is the way to go!

I didn’t really care too much about the income (once you get to the highest level, money isn’t usually a big issue), but the consumerism points are very rare and that pushed me over the edge.
Is there anywhere we can see design ideas for individual buildings? Like a section that has town hall or police station or specific buildings and ideas?
Also is there going to be a full springfield showcase soon? Im in need of some design inspiration considering all the new content they’ve blessed us with. I want to nuke my town and start fresh

Has there been any info on a fourth part to the event? Wondering if I should burn through the last of my mutant seeds or not.
The event has been fun, but crafting is still a drag. I got most of what I wanted, but I will have a bunch of stuff left over I can’t use.
Game of Thrones was awesome tonight. So much stuff going on.

When is this event going to end? Is it 1 day or 8 days? From what I’ve read the premium items are gone after tomorrow, but we can still craft for another week.
I’ve crafted the top tier items and can get the Side Show Bob Sign by Thursday, but if the event actually ends this Tuesday then I need to craft the decorative items (3rd tier).
Overall I’ve liked the way EA has staged the last two events. It’s been challenging, but not impossible to get what I want. With summer kicking in, I’m hoping the next event will be a mindless tap fest with not so cool items, but really nice buildings/characters combos to pick up with donuts. I’m a freeimum player so my expectations are pretty high.
Well, the crafting menu still says “prizes end in 17 hours,” but I guess unites unclear whether craftables are considrered “prizes.” Frankly, I can deal with it either way, but only if I know which way it will be… It would be unfair to have people use up materials today, thinking that the creating ends today, only to discover afterwards that they have more time and could have used those materials towards something bigger. (Or, conversely, saved their materials thinking they had more time and then losing them altogether when they didn’t.)
Personally, unless the game says something later today this change my mind, I’m going to err on the side of spending out my materials today.
Any thoughts on if Cecil will become a playable character?
He’s in the character groupings, so my thought is yup. 🙂
IMO more than likely, but knowing EA they could make him the new Sideshow Bob NPC character that pops up randomly in towns and we have to look for him again. Hopefully he ends up being full character though.
How can he not be when Dr Robert and Dame Judith are?
Most certainly, I remember when he was first inserted in before he became the events coordinator he had a list of tasks available to him but we had to do the quest for forgiveness.
