4th of July has arrived in Springfield! But, with that limited-time label it may be overwhelming trying to decide which items to buy and what to pass on. . But, have no fear! That’s where we come in to tell you what’s worth your donuts & what you might want to hold off on.
Wondering if you should add Richard Nixon and the Scandal-gate Hotel to your Springfield? Well before you hit that confirm button, let’s break down the Pros and Cons of adding this former President to your Springfield.

Pros:
-Premium character, earns 50% more cash and xp on all tasks
-Comes with his own questline.
-A couple of funny outdoor tasks
-Completes the 4th of July Character Set (assuming you have everyone from previous 4th of July Events)
-He’s voiced, with 4 funny phrases.
Cons:
-Pricey
-It’s Richard Nixon…not exactly the same as Honest Abe 😉
-Scandal-gate Hotel can be difficult to find the right fit in Springfield.

If you’ve played every 4th of July and already own Lincoln and Washington, then you may want to pick up Nixon just for collection sake. Also, if you’re a big Futurama fan, you may want to grab him for nostalgia sake. Otherwise, this may be one you want to pass one. Personally I like Lincoln and Washington a bit more than Nixon. Their tasks are funnier and their building/tree is easier to fit into Springfield than the Scandal-gate Hotel.
Of course all that being said…I already own Lincoln and Washington & i’m a big history buff so I will be pulling the trigger on Tricky Dick. (and that fact that he’s voiced better than any other president in the game is an added bonus)

Pass on this one. If you’re looking to spend the donuts on a president get Lincoln or Washington (personally I like Lincoln better). Don’t spend those hard earned donuts on Nixon…
Just remember whatever you decide this is a LIMITED-TIME character and once he’s gone, he’s gone…so be sure to get him before July 9th if you’re thinking about making that purchase!

I like having the Presidents around my Springfield, and I had the perfect spot in my Downtown Skyline for that big hotel, so I dun did bought this.

Can anyone help? I opened up the game, got the option to buy Nixon and accidentally clicked close. Now I can find where Gil is to but Nixon. Can anyone help me please?!

Check them all then. Instead of going into the individual icons (Event, 4th, etc) just swipe to the left and scroll through the main screen to see if he is there. If not, then open ALL tabs for the menu, tap on the Homer Buddha Icon (Premiums) and scroll through there.

I have just check what Bunny suggested and still nothing at all. Starting to run out of ideas, does he hide anywhere in the town etc? Need to find him before time runs out!
Are you looking for Nixon or Gil in there? Gil will be hiding/wandering around on your roads. But regardless… Nixon should be in the Menu to buy in the areas I linked you too. If he is not… contact EA

Check out a podcast called “10 American Presidents”. It’s a podcast that goes deep into the biography and history behind a selection of presidents. Episode 1 was about Richard Nixon. It’s well produced with actual audio clips of his speeches or other primary sources intercut into the narrative. It was fascinating to learn more about that period in American history.
Episode 2 is about George Washington and they have excellent dramatizations of his speeches.
Each show is written and read by a different guest host. Of the two episodes that have been released, the guest hosts are phenomenal history podcasters and I already listen to their regular shows.
I have really splurged this time – all three presidents – and the dialog between them is just hysterical. I was reading it to my husband this am and we were loling so hard. So funny. Having all three is priceless.
This has possibly the smartest/most clever quest line dialogues. If you don’t buy it and like American history, be sure to read it somewhere.
Don’t have the donuts, but for some reason… I want it.

Since I bought Jimbo and Shauna, I don’t have enough for any of the presidents 🙁 I was hoping to get Lincoln but haven’t been able to get enough doughnuts even with a few golden tickets (6 doughnuts each time, curse my bad luck).
I’m seriously considering becoming premium to get at least one of the presidents…
On a slight side note … I really wish you could buy just the cherry trees! They are my favourite and I would love them in my town

I’m thinking “maybe next year” but the question is: will he return next year. I know you don’t know and the fact he is a Gil Deal makes me question the possibility of not returning even more.. Realistically it doesn’t make sense that the game designers would put time and energy into something and then just toss it out. But my paranoia can get the best of me sometimes and that’s why I broke my Freemium rule for the Steel Mill. I think I might pass but freak out in the final hours rocking myself in the fetal position (like Bart when he chanted “can’t sleep, clown will eat me”)

I had to get Nixon. And I do have a section of town where the Scandalgate hotel fits just fine.
I swear though, if Nixon goes “Aroooooo!” at some point, I may faint from a sudden onset of squeeee.
We had been saving our doughnuts for awhile and we were happy to have enough for this. Some people have an involuntary, negative, Pavlovian response to the word “Nixon” and we’re hoping some folks get really mad because we have him in our city. The more angry the better.

Bought him right away. As a non-american, most of my presidential knowledge comes from TV and I loved President Nixon on Futurama.
I splashed the sprinkles even though the hotel looks like krustyland hotel it looks cool especially with the cool beach house.
As for Tricky Nicky pure nostalgia I had to get him.
The banter between the dead presidents is worth the doughnuts alone in my view.
I thought the hotel was a little small. Not to scale to the houses and looked a bit silly so I passed. Like Nixon though

This is a bit unrelated to this topic, but I’m glad that the most recent update restored the sound bites to how they were before the Bob event. Now the entire clip plays even if you select another character or move the screen.
I picked him up. I love the dialogue between all three presidents. His tasks are funny. The hotel is huge though. Thank God they opened up more land. 😋
I’m freemium but I bought Nixon anyway, mostly because I got Lincoln and Washington last year (they were the first time I ever spent real money for the game). I’m glad I bought him, his questline has been really funny and I think I have a good place for the hotel once I move a few things around.

It’s just a game. Meant to be fun and make fun. I honestly think his tasks are pretty funny…they don’t have to be so negative.

Ha Ha! Nicely done jreinatl. For those of us who lived through the Nixon years, your post is spot on. I agree, Alissa, it’s just a game – but I think it’s fair for some of us who remember that administration to treat it somewhat lightly but also have some dark humor about it here too.
Normally, I’d pass on this one as I have on the other presidents, but I happened to be standing in the Watergate waiting for a rainstorm to end when I got this update. Figured that was a sign. Welcome Tricky Dick and the Scandal Gate to my Springfield!

So if Nixion is a freemium pass (sorta what I was thinking as well) which would be a better deal, Lincoln with a building that pays out or Washington with a percent? I really like them both, I just can’t decide.

Nixon’s first appearance in the show was in Season 4 episode “Whacking Day”, which I watched today.
Ah, so that is the episode he was in! I had been trying to rack my brain to figure that out.
I have just started re-watching the show after I watched all seasons (took me 3 months).
Between the two sides, I watched some Futurama episodes (including a Nixon one,I watched two seasons).
Afterwards, I started with the Ullmann shorts, then the series.
I am at Season 5, and in the game I am at Level 45.
Definitely had to grab Nixon. Huge Futurama fan and I couldn’t resist his 3rd person dialogue. NIXON SMASH!!!
