Hey hey friends! In our silly lil game, we sometimes see things pop in that we have no clue as to their Origin. They seem familiar, but we just can’t pinpoint from where. So that is why we decided to make a fun lil reminder out of it. To let you know just Where did THAT Come From?
So I have to say how ecstatic I was that this premium decoration was offered during the Tap Ball event. It was offered a long time ago during a limited time sale at the end of Season 24 and back then, May 2013, I was a regular player with limited donuts just like you. I had to decide what I wanted and this was something I passed on and regretted. Two years later, EA offered it again and I snatched one up immediately. But what does a statue of Smithers holding a Burns Medusa head have to do with the Best. Show. Ever.? When and where did it appear? Let’s take a peek at the TV series to find out.
“To Cur with Love” (S24:E8)
This decoration pops up right at the beginning of the episode actually. It’s the Montgomery Burns Prize Awarding Excellence in the Field of Alternative Energy.
“Local inventors are vying for a million dollar stipend donated by C. Montgomery Burns as part of a court settlement for causing one billion dollars of environmental damage.” Blinky now has the power of flight and an Alien tongue… now that’s what I call polluting!
Otto harnassed the ancient power of slavery to run the schoolbus of tomorrow. Apu presents his Kwik-E-Smart perpetual energy machine powered by either decaying nitrates or tiny insects under the skins. Frink Labs, a division of the Allied Frink, the Good Glayvin people, presents the Moivin-hoiven vehicle aka the Frinkasonic MHV powered by sound waves.
Long story short, we never find out who wins and Frink’s invention destroys the Retirement Castle propelling the story to its actual plot. Interesting that Homer becomes addicted to a mobile game about building a town and wastes a lot of time playing it. That’s never happened in real life, right?
Definitely making fun of Farmville with no bearing on a certain Fuzzball’s hobby. After all, my dog doesn’t need to be walked. Anywho… there’s your origin for the Excellence Prize Statue. Just a quick blip once offered during the 2013 Season 24 Yard Sale that EA brought back during the 2015 Tap Ball Event. Did you buy it? Happy it came back? Wish it wasn’t unique so you could have lots of them? Sound off below and happy tapping friendereenos.
TTFN… Wookiee out!
BONUS: A homer quote from this episode to say while playing TSTO: “And the Lord saw what he had made and it was good. Yeah, that’s right. Your Lord sticks his hand in his pants and yes, it is the same hand I tapped you with.”
