Should I Spend Donuts on Little Lisa’s Recycling Plant?

Hey Howdy Hey Tappers!

The Monorail has finally arrived.  Yes, the Monorail is now in Springfield….as well as a whole lotta garbage.  What better way to eliminate the garbage, than with a recycling center?  Now I know you may be trying to decide if this is worth YOUR donuts, but don’t sweat it!  We’re here to tell you what’s worth the donuts and what you might want to hold off on.

Wondering if you should add Little Lisa’s Recycling Plant to YOUR Garbage Clearing Fleet?  Well before you hit that confirm button let’s break down the pros and cons of adding this vegan to YOUR Springfield!
littlelisarecyclingplant_menu

Building: Little Lisa’s Recycling Plant
Donut Price:
200 Donuts
Earns:
350ico_mono15_blueprints_lg, 15xp/4hrs
Conform-O-Meter Impact: Consumerism +10
Placement: Required to be placed on Grass, Beach and Ocean.  You’ll need 8×3 of Grass open by 8×3 of beach, and the rest will carry over into the ocean.  Make sure you have nothing in the ocean, on the beach or on the grass blocking it from being placed.
It will look like this when properly placed:
2015-08-16 23.36.14

Pros:
-Constantly animated
-Earns a bunch of blueprints every 4hrs.  (350/4hrs) So if you go into your town and clear it every 4hrs, 4 times/day you’ll earn an additional 1400 blueprints/day.

Cons:
-Insanely expensive.  200 Donuts is a LOT to pay for this building.
-No character interaction/questline with this building.

Final Thought:
Premium Take:
Personally, I think this is way to expensive even as a premium player.  While it looks cool and earns a ton of Blueprints, I just don’t think the donut cost is worth it.  In order to make it worth your money you’ll need to log into your game at least 4 times/day.  If you’re doing that you should be able to earn more than enough blueprints the other ways…(math post here).  I just don’t think it’s worth it or necessary…

Freemium Take:
Stay away…stay far far away from this one.  It’s a giant donut suck and just isn’t worth it.  If you play your game diligently enough (which you’ll have to do to make this purchase worth it anyway), you’ll earn plenty of blueprints to unlock all of the prizes and earn some extra tracks.  So freemium players, pass on this one.

Of course in the end it’s your decision, we can only tell you what we would/wouldn’t do…and I can tell you as a premium player I’m passing on this one.  Just not worth it to me.   However, this IS a limited-time item.  So if you’re thinking about getting it make sure you make your final decision before it leaves our games.  (and if you are thinking about getting it, the sooner the better)

What are your thoughts on Little Lisa’s Recycling Plant?  Will you be spending the donuts to bring it to your Springfield (or did you already)? Did you have issues with the placement?  Sound off in the comments below, you know we love hearing from you!

I just had a thought and I guess I might know the answer myself in a few days when the monorail challenge resets but I’ll give it a shot here first. I have this recycle plant mainly because it’s cute and I liked the animation. (I am still trying to convince myself I’m a freemium player but seeing as I have just purchased every new future SF item minus the robot I’m pretty certain I fall in the premium player catagory) I’ve never paid attention to what happens with the blueprints when you have already finished the weekly rail challenges. I still earn them every 4 hrs but where do they go ? Will they just save up towards next week or is this a total waste after you get the bonughts round? If it’s not saving them it should give cash instead of blue prints. Sigh I guess I’ll figure this out next week but I’m inpatient lol. Anyone who wants to check out my town and give me an opinion on free/premium player I welcome the feedback. I’m pretty pleased with my little town as a player whose been tapping since the first wacking day event lol SarahSunshine82
    Tapp on and happy sunday!

  2. the recycling plant comes into its own when you’re in the middle of an event. the characters who earn blueprints are also the characters used by most events (homer, marge, bart, lisa, ned, krusty, mr. burns, etc.). if you got the premium characters like uter and dewey largo, it helps somewhat, but the recycling plant is less expensive than getting four, three or even two premium characters.

  3. I did grab this without thinking enough about it but I have soothed myself slightly by saying that I can use my people to earn money instead of railing as much. I am still trying to finish the IRS and have more land to buy so I want my characters out earning money more than rail pieces.

  4. Is this and the Monorail café permanent items now or are they still limited-time items? They are not listed as limited-time in the store. And does the recycling plant still produce blueprints after the event to help with track building and bonuts? I find myself missing out on the rail yard bonuts quite often because I can’t always devote the time to grinding them out. If it continued to earn blueprints, that would be helpful.

  5. Is there any real benefit to getting this now? I guess I mean to ask if someone like me, who has tons of rail pieces and multiple rail stations, can truly benefit at all from having this item and/or the blueprints – do blueprints matter in daily/weekly play?
    Thanks in advance!!!

    • In my opinion, no. In my opinion there’s no reason for it even if you don’t have everything…unless of course you like it.

    • I guess the extra blueprints would help earn bonuts faster from the rail yard (once they’re back)… But, if you’re willing to play fairly frequently, you can easily finish the rail yard tasks for the week by Friday or Saturday each week without out (especially if you have the premium characters who can work at the recycling centers). I think it’s better to spend the donuts to buy the premium characters (if you don’t have them) than on the fish plant, since the characters can also earn cash and XP and come with buildings (except Jesse) and fun questlines and animations.

I tried to get it this with the latest Monorail event, but I couldn’t place it. It shows up along the beach, but no matter where I try to place it, it’s always red and there is nothing else in the area to block me placing it. What am I doing wrong?

  7. I bought it… Yes, it is expensive, but it is also a cool industrial building with cool animation, and it breaks up the beach line.

  8. I love this and am so glad a few of my neighbors have it.. I don’t think I’ve ever been able to save 200 donuts. Always been a sucker for the limited time premium items… and if I had saved 200 donuts I would probably blow them on this!

  9. I want this, but I didn’t realize it earned blueprints until this post. Now it seems like a missed opportunity, since I assume we’ll stop collecting blueprints in a few days. Oh, well…

I really like the episode this comes from. I’ll need to think about it.

  10. I bought it because I loved the animations in another player’s town. This was also an episode I enjoyed. I went crazy spending donuts and got this, the Krusty drive through station, and Jesse Grass. I hardly ever do that outside of Halloween events! I guess I got antsy after not really wanting to buy anything from the sports event. I don’t really regret anything I got though. I’m sure I’ll enjoy them for a long time to come.

  11. Little Lisa’s Recycling Plant – I like the idea EA was going for but the price (too many Donuts), the size (large & requires free space from ocean to land), zero interaction with Lisa Simpson (lost opportunity EA), required to log into game too often (every 4 hours?) doesn’t seem fair.

Its only Part One of a three parter (lets see what else EA offers) 😉

  12. It’s an iconic Springfield building… though it would have been great to see a task added for Barney to lick the windows.

  13. Definite buy for me, no hesitation. I love the animation and it goes well with my run down, post-industrial waterfront area.

  14. Well, this is my whale….. LOL

But I really like the look, and the classic episode it comes from. And considering it should help nicely with a few more rails for my town, I have no buyer’s remorse.

  15. i thought I saw a post about this, but I can’t find it.

I know there are daily blueprint caps from the project board, but for the last few days it hasn’t let me collect that much. It lets me complete the daily challenge and then locks it out. I only collected around 2000 blueprints this morning and then it said I was done. I’m about three steps away from getting Ray Patterson and I’d like to be able to get extra rails before act one ends.

  16. You work for EA😱 ROFL! You know I’m just kidding, but wonder how many pep will just read that part! I know, I know smart aleck, just couldn’t resist have to laugh at something!
Drats, kind of I’ve been patiently waiting (not to be confused with patient waiting which I’m that too) for your post on Lisa’s building post, he bought it. It was haunting me, buy me, buy me now, even though was expensive & donuts are hard to come by I bought like it anyway. Had a little bit of land required left & Lisa is by far hands down my favorite character, if it was any other character probably would have passed!
Right now I am in game a lot, but no worries, I’m still glad I have it in my town, plus I’m a recycling fiend, what does anyone expect out of California girl! Living in FL, but you can never take the California out of a person born & lived there most of your life. I’ve actually argued enough at festivals, baseball games, beaches, etc that they are finally coming around. Sure it’s not just me but I do drive them crazy.😉

  17. Based on the comments I’ve read in other posts here, I think that another “con” is that it can be very hard to place, if one already has one’s waterside fairly developed.

Had it been, say, 50 or 60 donuts, I probably would have snatched it up, but it was an easy pass (not to be confused with EZPass 😉 ) at 200 donuts.

  18. I like the way the building looks. I like that it sits across land, beach and sea. I like that it’s constantly animated.
I don’t like the price – as has been said in the final thought the blueprint benefit just doesn’t seem to fit with cost of the building, especially with no character.
Would’ve been cool to have it in my town but I’m just not willing to spend that many donuts on it.

my game has now officially stopped working as soon as it starts sync it just crashes please help!

  20. Do you know if its going to payout in The other acts? Or have i missed it somewhere? 🙂

  21. How could this be a bad investment? If you want extra monorail tracks, you will want to get all the help you can get!

    • Because it costs 200 donuts and you have to be in your game every 4 hrs for it to pay out properly. And once you clear the prize track the cap on the blueprint board is lifted. Easy to earn extra tracks at that point without spending donuts.

  22. A big hello to my neighbour Armondo86. I am Dex #. I bought the fish recycler on both my games. It does help when you clear 4 hourly, but was expensive, especially for my mostly Freemium game.

I’m kind of alone here in that I don’t watch The Simpsons, so often miss on who is what character & etc. Not a big fan of TV, I do play my game addictively though!

  23. Alissa, I love your freemium commentary on this. It made me chuckle.

  24. Hi! I’m a sweet girl who just recently purchased her first smart phone and who even more recently started playing Simpsons Tapout. I don’t really get how to add friends. I doubt that I know anybody in real life that plays the game (most of my friends are into music, growing beards, and complaining about life) so if you wouldn’t mind adding me, that would be swell. I’ve been playing for about a month and a half and am on level 17. I can’t promise that this game will hold my interest forever, but it was fun being able to visit other Springfield back when they had the soccer game things. I would like to be able to do that again. Cheers!!

  25. I’ve seen it in neighbor’s towns and really love the look. I also like the episode it’s from. If it were about 100 donuts I probably would get it, but with several other premium buildings / characters I still want to pick up eventually the cost is too high for me. I’ll just have to enjoy it when I’m doing my friend visits 🙂

  26. I got it but found it very hard to place! I had a lot of buildings along the shore and had to find another place for three of my buildings to place the Plant. Apologies to Malibu Stacy for ruining her view…

  27. Got it and like the animation. I put a whale near the entrance. I’m so mean!
Fingers crossed Lisa’s giant redwood tree comes along too. With all the new land lately I’ve been able to set up a pretty decent forest so some different trees would be mintox.

  28. Got it and I love it. I loved the episode it came from. Brought back memories.

  29. The question is wrong. The right question is what is the cheapest way to earn extra track for monorail. With the daily cap, the most ‘economical’ way I can see to get past that cap is this plant. I greatly speeds up meeting tasks on the task line. Once past the cap, then you need premium characters – Brandine and Jesse – to exploit that advantage, i.e. 400 donuts for all three. The Krusty station looks great but even at the basic station price, yields far fewer blueprints per hour. If you include the extras, then it is far more expensive than Lisa’s plant. Successfully rushing using donuts is even more expensive. Whether the plant plus characters will remain the best option will be possible to tell only after the event when it will be possible to calculate how many extra pieces of track were earned vs the price per piece of extra track, if track is eventually offered for sale. Right now, I have just completed a loop, the smallest possible, and the thing looks like a carnival ride. Obviously completing the task lines in the three acts will yield more track, but if you want an impressive length, I think you are going to have make with the donuts. And the question is what is the cheapest way to do that. In other words, do not view the station as costing 200 donuts but view the extra track the plant allows you to earn as costing 200 donuts. If this plant results in an extra 20 pieces of track (roughly 7 per act), then you have paid 10 donuts per piece.of track and received the plant for free. If you buy Jesse and Brandine too, then you need to generate 40 pieces for them to cost 10 each. IF EA puts extra track for sale at 5 donuts per piece and you generated an extra track at 10 donuts per piece, then you lost money on the plant. If EA sets the price at 20 donuts per piece, then you saved money. But no one can tell that right now, aside from EA. It is a real gamble.

    • Or you could say the ultimate price of the plant is 200 donuts minus the value EA eventually sets for extra track x the amount of extra track the plant allowed you to earn.

    • Of course, if 21 x 3 pieces of track is enough for you or the plant’s purchase will no longer result in extra track, then it is terribly overpriced, I agree. EA should discount it like property prices after a new level hits, but I doubt they will. Perhaps a Gil deal in 6 months????

    • Yes, I want an impressive length !

Did that phrase jump off the page for anyone else ?

  30. The Lisa logos alone are a deal breaker, glad I saw those when seeing where it would fit.
