I’ve just had a bizarre and kind of awesome bug happen and I am wondering if anyone else has too. I’m getting awarded all the prizes over again. I got the act 1 prizes four times now, and just got the act 2 and 3 prizes duplicated last time I logged in. I have no idea what’s going on. I don’t have any tracks in water — I removed them because of the bug warning. I now have tons of track but I am worried about logging in to find half my town missing or something.
Yup it happened to me too…it was very odd (I don’t have any tracks in water, nor have I had any issues with this event). However, I’m thrilled to get more track lol
Crashing aside, how is anyone taking more than 15-20 mins to visit all neighbours? Click on three things and instantly press the next town button. Rinse repeat. I don’t understand it.
On a totally different note, I currently have 100 monorail track pieces and have four lines running in exactly the same way on the same track layout, visible together. Oddly satisfying.
It takes me longer than 15-20 minutes. Often times because I have to search for something to tap on.
15-20 minutes to do 100 neighbors? I’m impressed! In my experience, it’s not always quite as snappy as you’re saying…I often have to hunt for tappable buildings, which can take some time, especially if a town hasn’t been cleared recently. I guess my neighbors must be pretty popular… Even those who are good about clearing their towns at least a couple of times a day can fill up with tapped buildings pretty quickly.
Sometimes it can take me 15-20 minutes to just to get through three neighbors.
That includes proper searching in about ten to fifteen towns at the bare minimum I’d say. Half decent search in thirty maybe.
video or it didn’t happen! 🙄
Most recent was 24 after two crashes and ping back to each alphabetically (instead of starting at z like I normally would) and a fair bit of lag on some towns. Would say 30 secs covers looking through the whole town when needed.
without crashing it could take me a little less than an hour! I like to look around and see what my neighbors have changed or where a new building was placed and how it was designed. plus I like to tap specific buildings so I have to look around for them. when I’m tapping late night and tired I’ll tap and run though.
Hello! I was offline for almost a whole week while on vacation (couldn’t find any Wi-Fi there) and sadly, I didn’t manage to get Uriah, which was the only character I actually wanted from this update 🙁 I’m currently 40 donuts away from level 9’s prize, and I’d like to know how much would level 10 (Uriah) cost, to see if I have enough donuts to buy him. Any help would be highly appreciated! 🙂
400 donuts for the 10th prize in each Act
I just realised Cecil’s 24 hr task “run for mayor” isn’t just walking around, it’s in the houses, similar to blue haired lawyers task, he walks around to the houses, goes in for a second then comes out
It was fixed a few updates back
Happy Labor Day to everyone.
Still having a lot of problems visiting my neighbors due to freezing and closing the app. So, sorry to the ones I am not getting to visit. I am making sure you have something to tap if you visit me so you can get your 18 B&W even if you can’t get the 3 B&W since I can’t get into your town.
I actually just had a great run of visiting. I just visited 15 friends before my app closed. I have been using our ADDICTS suggestions (disconnect rail from station, use indoor activities for characters, etc.). I have also added: clear out anything that can be cleared before going on a friend visit (clear stink lines, collect monies, make sure all characters are on task, force synchronization a couple of times, clear Krustyland, clear possums). This time I tried two new things. I cleared out half of my upgradable buildings in SH and only went to neighbors at Level 55 or below. Next I will try neighbors at 56 and below to see how that works. Each time before I start visiting I hard restart my iPad 1.
Very happy to have my monorail running 🙂 I’ve incorporated all three stations in one small loop and for some reason there’s no more freezing (knock on wood). I had nuked my town for the first time but at one point the freezing did begin, however after I had closed the loop, it didn’t anymore. Not sure why, but pretty pleased about it.
It was pretty scary to nuke my town but I’m glad I did. I’m already at 4,5 stars again and the town is a lot less cluttered now. Most buildings are out in Springfield, a few more in storage then were before and loads more decorations in storage. It runs a lot smoother and I’ve also got less characters out: there were so many that it became it bit of a long task to assign them all. I think I will roulate them. Perhaps I’ll nuke my town again for Halloween or Christmas 🙂 I thought I’d really hate losing my town, but suprisingly I really liked building the town from scratch again, so much so that I might do it more often!
Wow! Just did a recount of my characters and I have 147. I really would like a send all button as mentioned twice throughout this post. Please EA.
I just don’t see it happening soon. With everything that dropped this summer: tons of new land. Monorail is the third event, an expansion. Pushing us till the end of September. Then Halloween in October. Christmas in December and January. That leaves us with the possibility of November for these supposed changes for sending characters on tasks and collecting money from buildings. Unless they can incorporate it into one of the holiday events. Or maybe level 60.
Anyone miss a character they really wanted in the game?? I missed Kimiko way back when a NEED her!! She’s just as rare as the Mapple store was.
For me, I just stagger my 24 hr tasks throughout the day, must more manageable that way! Just maybe 10 characters a time
Yeah, Kumiko is high on my want list. I hope they bring here back soon. I’m also hoping to get a chance at Booberella and Kodos during Halloween.
Anyone having probs w/game crashing on iphone? Constant. Didn’t play first act, have been playing about a week now but can’t stay n game longer than 5 mins.
Well, neighbour visits are still a struggle but after weeks of random crashing trying to visit people I think I discovered a pattern. Every time the game crashes during neighbour visits I come back to my town and I’ve been visited by someone. I think there’s an issue with visiting neighbours and neighbour’s visiting me at the same time. Maybe if you’ve got crashing issues avoid neighbour visits during times that your neighbours tend to come by for a visit?
With the re-release of the Mapple store, here is a fun link I thought I would share. http://www.engadget.com/2014/02/05/every-apple-reference-ever-made-in-futurama-and-the-simpsons/ It has a discussion of every Apple reference in the Simpsons.
I wish they would add dirt in with the road, water and concrete. Would love to put in some dirt roads and land.
Can’t you put away one of the spaceships? I think Kang is attached to one, and Kodos is attached to the other.
Aaaah!!! help I’ve accidently put kang on his prob homer task, and it’s a day and a half long!! Can’t store homer, how can I store kang and free them up again?
From Building Mode (or whatever it’s called when you’re in the mode where you can move everything around) click on Kang and you’ll get the option to put him in inventory.
Try using the arrows like you’re going to move a building. Select Kang them store him.
No into move mode and see if it will let you store Kang.
Can’t you just store Kang directly? Like you’d store NPCs?
Unless you purchased Kang when he was premium back in Halloween 2012, you just have to select him and put him in inventory.
It would be nice to be able to buy plain stations afterwards for a bit of realism
I’m really enjoying the quest line for Level 57, some very funny dialogue and a nice surprise to get 3 freemium buildings.
Glad to see the start of Act 3, looking forward to getting the Railyard. I can understand why there hasn’t been a lot of variation in the prize track, it’s the monorail event so lots of track and station stuff but this has made the event a bit monotonous – the quest line has been short and it would’ve helped if there had been a bit more dialogue to keep things interesting.
will the buildings in SH ever give a payout?
They give an XP bonus %.
One thing I love about this event, and a few previous events, is that it is broken up into three stages. “Back in the day” if you fell behind at the beginning of the event, there was no way you would be able to get the final prize. Due to holidays and lack of cell phone service, I was not able to get the final prize on the first stage of this event, but I have had no problem with the second stage, and I’m sure to get the final prize. Thanks EA!
Springfield heights is not in the store. Is this just me? Anyone know what’s up?
It’s still there…click on the yellow > to expand the menu, then look at the last icon on the right on the top row.
Thanks!
Do you guys think some of the things from the superhero event will come because I miss out on that because my phone was damaged.
I am irritated by the construction icons urging me to level up some buildings and the swimming pools. I wish there was a way to turn them off. I don’t want to have everything maxed out. I like having design variety in my buildings!
Hey everyone,
With the pools now, you can upgrade them to level 3 and then it lets you choose what level design you want, like a skin for a character or building. It’s just like the radioactive man statue. I wish they had this option for springfield hights buildings that change as you level up, so you could get all the real estate value but you were not stuck with 10 of the same gigantic buildings. Thanx and have fun.
It will probably happen. Especially given you can now mess with the pool.

I made the mistake of putting the rail pieces I earned in storage. Now when I win more straight pieces and put them in Springfield the current saved straight pieces in storage disappear. The same thing happened today for the short straight pieces I won today. Even though I did not put them in storage the ones I did have in storage disappeared. I know I should contact EA but in the past I spent a lot of time talking to rep only to be told that it will referred to a game specialist and then no further action is taken. Word to the wise. Hope you do not have the same issue.
I noticed the monorail causing freezing issue in my game seems to go away as long as I have the monorail running on a track where it can go into a complete circle. Seems like its the stopping and going backwards on an incomplete track thing that causes the freezing in my game (at least part of the time.) Not sure if this will help everybody with the freezing issue, but thought I’d pass it along.
Anyone notice when visiting neighbors, the last tap of getting 6 bells/tape/etc., you’re not getting the 6 items? So instead of getting 180 you only get 174 in total? Sorry if this was answered in another post.
I wish Maggie could be an active character in this game! How cute would it be to have her crawling around town, with tasks? My 6 yr.old daughter threw this question/suggestion at me and i cant agree with the lil angel more! We need Maggie!
I wonder if the folks who code the game ever thought it’d reach a point where even semi-freemium players are handling well over a hundred characters. I know it’s been broached before but I wonder if the idea of a “send all” or “collect all” button shouldn’t be revisited. Something kinda like the Christmas light plunger. People I’ve talked to who used to play but gave up often put the blame on simple, repetitive boredom. Maybe I’m missing some of the practical nuances here but I’d sure hate to find myself turning into a Tapped Out Burn Out.
I feel the topic controversial and worthy of it’s own thread.
personally I think that would take a lot away from the point of the game. Limiting hours of tapping to minute(s) of Tap. Don’t get me wrong it might be nice for all the buildings but not for characters.
I agree on the one button idea. I now have 80 playable characters, soon to be 81 with the monorail event. I’m really hoping the next event gives us a free statue of some kind to at least tap out all characters who have finished their tasks. I nice thumb statue would be nice. Or add an option to the Town Hall that allows you to tap out all characters.
I agree with the send all collect all Fgtqfs add a collect all to many buildings to tap on. Especially during this event you have to tap about 3 times 1 for $. 1for $ to collect and 1 to clear stench. I for one would like the intro vids to return
Yeah, it is not just the boredom, my wrist, arms and eyes hurt due to the frequent tapping.
It is comming. The IRA office for collecting money in proximity and unemployement office for sending everyone to work.
Not confirmed. Loads of things in the files that haven’t hit the game…
The Simpsons : burned out.
Expatrie-
I notice a lot of towns go dead during events…..
Game comes to stand still, only with Simpson game
I close it and reboot…but it happens again and again
Is it EA or my IPad? Very frustrating
…and how do I really talk to a EA guru…phone. ??????
I’ve zero idea how to find their number to talk to an agent and even if there is a long wait involved I’d try it..
Hope you can shed light….and thanks much for you help you
Constantly supply that I can’t do without.
I’m having the same problem, and I have an Android phone. It’s really annoying.
http://tstoaddicts.com/2014/01/14/troubleshooting-101-contacting-ea/
There’s no number to call them, you have to instead select the Call Me Option. They’re usually quick to call back as long as you do it during normal hours 9-9 EDT Monday-Friday and then Saturdays it’s 9 EDT until I think 4 or 5
I can’t wait for the events to calm down a little bit so there is more time for Springfield show offs…I really miss them :(.
Goodnight everyone😊
It’s really disappointing how buggy the game has been since this event started. I enjoy much of the event, but I still find myself looking forward to it ending in the hope that things will start working better. I always visit all 100 of my friends everyday, but with this event the app crashes every couple of neighbors. As a result I’m just doing 30 friends to get the event currency each day, and it still takes about three times as long as it normally takes me to do all 100. My town is also getting messy in places as the crashes make reorganizing more of a chore, so I’ve just stashed the recent buildings, etc. wherever there’s space. Also things like Akira not working, the Springfield Heights issues, and the large numbers of characters going missing (which I’ve been lucky enough not to see)…
I’m hoping we get another premium offering before the event ends. The only one I’ve been interested in is the slurry factory, but not for that price. I guess with Halloween around the corner I won’t be too upset if I don’t find anything to spend some donuts on before then.
I would like to voice one pet peeve. While searching the add friends page this week, I chanced to see the word ‘lazy’. I visit my neighbours daily, but I do not consider tapper who do not do so as lazy. They are simply people who understand that spending 45 minutes to earn a donut worth 16 cents is ]bad economics (although more fun than just buying it with cash). I would argue that most dropped tappers are not even inactive as they visit their own towns at least once a day, just not their neighbours. ‘Non-visiting’ would be more accurate, but not very catchy. Any ideas anyone for a better term that will not offend or belittle neighbours?
Then I guess you wouldn’t find “selfish” to be an acceptable substitute?
I think ‘relaxed’ would be much better.
Problem is, you’re only looking at it from the tapper’s viewpoint. If my neighbors don’t visit me then I can’t collect $/XP from their taps during normal times, or event currency (like bells and whistles) during events like this.
I understand missing a day or two here and there (life and/or timeslip do sometimes interfere), but, if you don’t have the time/interest in visiting your neighbors, then be sure to look for neighbors who specifically say they don’t mind that or just take on as many neighbors as you feel that you can visit regularly.
To my mind, it’s not nice to take without giving in return, unless the giver is okay with that.
Sraige – My username is near the end of the alphabet so I just plan on my neighbors not visiting me. It doesn’t offend me; in fact, I really don’t care and I don’t visit all of my neighbors either! My only request for neighbors is that They clear their own buildings (or leave some not cleared if it’s not event time) so that I have something to tap on when I visit them. Especially with recent rampant game crashes, not everyone has 45 minutes to an hour to spare to visit all their neighbors.
Thanks for recognizing that tappers who don’t visit all 100 neighbors daily, aren’t themselves bad neighbors.
I agree, my username is also end of the alphabet and I’d say maybe 5 of my neighbor actually visit my town. It doesn’t bother me since during events, I don’t get much out of them visiting me anyway. But lately, maybe because of all the bugs, a good chunk of my neighbors have had nothing for me to tap since this event began. They are all active, I see the 3 monorail stations and new tracks, so they are playing actively, I don’t know why this is.
I visit all my neighbors so, I don’t have any suggestions.
I also have far fewer than one hundred and several neighbors who haven’t played for six months or more, and about four recently abandoned.
Expatrie-
Why on earth are you keeping neighbors who haven’t played in six months?!?
I used the word “selfish” but I’m guessing that you wouldn’t like that either.
To be clear, though, I reserve the term for people who ask people to friend them and in their request, they specifically state that they will visit daily, or people who respond to a friend request where it’s stated that the person will visit daily and expects the same…and then afterwards they can’t even be bothered to visit half the time because it just takes so much time to get through all 100 neighbors.
People like that, I have no problem thinking of as selfish and I drop them, because I see no reason to give them a benefit they promised me but can’t bother to follow through on. On the other hand, I have a dozen or so friends who never promised to visit, they only promised to have an awesome looking town, so it doesn’t bother me at all that they don’t visit and I don’t think of them as selfish or lazy for never stopping by.
I used to visit all my neighbours every day. It didn’t bother me at all if they didn’t visit me, except in events when their visits helped me. This event wouldn’t bother me because 1 blueprint, or whatever, is so insignificant it makes little or no difference.
But now, I simply don’t have the time. Or I’m not prepared to give up a good-sized chunk of my free time for something I consider of minor importance.
For me, I simply have other priorities.
I would suggest the word ‘busy’, but this is making a lot of assumptions for a lot of players. It would apply to me though. Maybe ‘non-addicts’ would be better, although I think I’m still addicted, I just have to choose carefully where I get my fix from. 😉
45 minutes to visit neighboreeno’s I could handle, with all the crashing it takes me more like4 hours. I know a lot of people blame the device but I never had this issue before and I stored my NPC’s and a lot of decorations but crash, crash, crash. So I try to make sure my neighbors have buildings to tap when/if they can visit me.
The thing I am not happy about that all my friends added were based on me specifying that I only want daily visitors. Those that do not visit daily should not have added me.
I agree, those that see that I want visitors but choose to never visit really irk me. Occasionally my ID is out there without that warning so a few perhaps joined based on a misunderstanding. Or I misunderstood their promise to visit when I sent a request. Since I stopped adding ‘active players’ (often only in their own town) and concentrate on those who specify they visit others daily, my satisfaction has gone up. It is hard to tell the difference between vacationers and discontinued players, so some tappers probably get deleted needlessly. But most of what I see is fatigue, i.e. people whose life situation has changed and they no longer have the time they used to or people who come to the realisation that 45 minutes a day is too much time to spend on this game. Have to say this event and its slowdown/crashing is really testing my patience as well. Fortunately, I have some fantastic neighbours who visit every day and I hate to let them down. But it takes constant monitoring to keep the number of visitors above 50 per day. Were I to stop monitoring, I would soon be down to 30 or less visitors a day, and that would discourage me from continuing the pursuit of donuts as well. Thus, while some do take advantage of the system, tarring all tappers who stop visiting neighbours as selfish or lazy is, I think, a bit harsh. That is why I proposed finding a politer way of describing those who are not visiting their neighbours.
The easiest solution is simply not to mention something negative like ‘dropping &(_&%”£ players’. Obviously if the poster is level 57, he or she has deleted neighbours and they may have also deleted him/her. It adds nothing to the poster’s image. Better to state how good one is than how bad others are.
Hi all! I’ve been kind of MIA lately. First, I was working over 90 hours a week when the event started, so sadly I missed out on the final Act 1 and Act 2 prizes :(. Tough for an OCDer completist like me, but actually, I’m okay with it. Then, I had the time to play more on vacation, but instead, the family and I drove 16 hours from home in Canada down to the Outer Banks of North Carolina, and I chose to just keep up with minimal tapping and spend my time enjoying sun, sand, surf, dolphins, wild horses, and ice cream. It was perfect. We just got home today and I tapped all the way back so here’s hoping I’ll get the final prize because I love free donuts! We also have Labour Day (but with a ‘u’) tomorrow, so I’m going to keep tapping through the long weekend.
that’s a LONG drive for you!! We go to OBX every summer and it’s a long drive from the Philadelphia area! Glad you had a great time, neighbor! I love it down there.
