Monorail Event is over and now being pulled from our games, though I know some of you are pushing those limits to squeeze the last few Bells & Whistles out of it. Just remember, you are now on borrowed time and an Update can be forced on you by EA at any time.
Outside of that, I wanted to touch on a “Poem” that was offered to us via the App Market Updates. Let’s take a look.
A poem to celebrate the end of the Monorail Event*:
Your trashy treasures have all turned back to trash,
and the magic of the Monorail has ended.
The stress of it all has given you a rash,
But think of all those strangers you have friended.
Another Update is on its way,
With New Characters a’yapping.
Now this might sound a little cliche,
But all you have to do is keep tapping.
*But all existing trains, tracks, buildings, and decorations are staying in your town.
EA has already lined up something for us that is on its way. Now the question is, just WHAT that will consist of?
Well, we know that the New Season 27 Episode with Lena Dunham won’t start until September 27th… so unless it is a 2 week thing or does not start til next week, I do not see an Episode Tie In this week.
The happy time of year for me, Halloween, Treehouse of Horror Episode is not set to air until October 25th… so I don’t see them launching anything for that until closer to October. Even then, I am more anticipating a full blow Halloween Event at that time.
Could the “Just Keep Tapping” be a hint at Lisa’s old Dance Teacher, Vicki Valentine and her School Lil’ Vicki Valentine’s School of Dance? (Me and Wookiee also thought this was a possibilty). “Tappa-Tappa-Tappa”.
Just what on earth could be coming? I think ANOTHER Level Update. It seems they like to be dishing those out every other week to us lately to keep us on our toes. It also could be just some kind of a Mini Update with something leading into the New Season.
What do I personally want with an Update? Well, I am still holding out hope for my “Baby Event” or Level Update. I know they are tiny, small, and may be more difficult to track roaming our Springfield streets, but I see many other lil teeny items already in there roaming around as we speak. I WANT MAGGIE AS A CHARACTER!!
It’s about time our lil darlin was released from Marge’s clutches and allowed to do “her own thing” in our games, don’t you think? A Baby Event could really work out. We could bring in the lil adorable adopted “baby” Ling Bouvier, Selma’s girl. Maggie of course. Baby Gerald could make his arrival too, in which I would hope there would be some sort of silly outside task involving the two of them battling it out in Shopping Carts. We could even get some of the Nahasapeemapetilon babies in on the action. There are 8 of them to choose from.
Enough of my wants, what are YOU hoping will arrive for us next in the game? Any thoughts or a possible clue the “a’yapping” could be giving us? When do you think the “New Update” will hit our games? Let the speculations begin!

There was an app store update earlier today that should have been a patch

I’d love a dog or baby event, but what I really want is a break! Lol I’m moving (driving) across the country on the 26th and I really hope there’s no events until THOH. I can’t see myself being able to get a decent internet connection on the back roads of Canada and I don’t want to miss anything D:

What if it’s a hint towards the theme of this year’s Halloween event. Remember the Cat in The Hat segment from THOH a few years ago? What if we’ll see some content for that when the Halloween update rolls around?

No worries. I know everyone gets excited by upcoming stuff…but around here it just creates a “fire” effect and we have loads of people asking when it’s hitting, when it’s not even confirmed it’s hitting. 🙂
I’d be totally cool with a little break. Maybe a level update and then Halloween at the beginning of October. I keep hoping for Mulder and Scully to make their appearance. Might be a good time to add them considering there’s gonna be a new season in January. Get on it EA! 🙂
Lol. I seem to remember an episode with michael jackson. I doubt they could throw him in the mix. It would be interesting to have some throwback to way back characters. Im 33 and can remember so so many great episodes! Ahh, to reflect on all the great seasons!

Hello, I was thinking is there any way to have a vacuum or an option to collect all the money instead of tapping on all the buildings. it be cool.
Supposely there is an as of yet unreleased IRS themed update that will include a harvest all money and send all characters on an x hour quest feature.
That sure would be nice, I will have to wait patiently till that happens. I wish squid port was cheaper to build though. its hard. 10,000 for 1 piece.
Yeah I saw that IRS update too but I also found two other unreleased updates. One that involves Maggie and another update that has a female character I don’t recognize. So who knows what we will be getting?
All the more reason we do NOT post spoilers. There are several items, Characters, Buildings, Events, Updates, etc all over in those files of items that never came to be in the game. So until it goes live, we never post those “speculations/spoilers” as you never know what EA will actually drop or pull and leave in the files to be long forgotten about.
Mayan Marge is a PERFECT example. She was not released with all the other Mayan stuff in 2012, but there she sat… until a LONG LONG time later when she was actually released in 2014… in a Very Very Very Odd Gil Deal of all things. She was so out of place. Like an afterthought.
So I wouldn’t bank on “well it is in the files” for accuracy. 😉
Maybe EA isn’t comfortable with the idea of a baby loose in SF. I would love it. Give us Maggie! And the 8 baby Nahasapeemapetilons. Like the rabbit, you could tap the stroller and off they would wander for an hour.
My game will not be complete until we have Maggie and Itchy and Scratchy. Is it possible Itchy and Scratchy will arrive this Halloween? Seems possible. Let’s hope. 🙂

Very true, they could split the Fall update up into two parts, have the rest of this month for a Fall Part 1 deal and then move into Halloween event directly after. The first Part could be maybe 3 or so weeks and then they could roll out Halloween. I can see it happening.
I would truly enjoy having an option that would allow us to gift donuts back n forth betwixed neighboreenos! Maybe a mailbox of sorts shared only between loving neighbors! Oh and can i please get an amen to my previous post regarding the addition of scully and mulder into the game? I cant be the only one who loved that episode!!!
They haven’t done really any celeb characters at all, unless you count the presidents as celebrities…lol If they’re going to have characters like that which are basically actors, they should start with older season celebs/singers etc first if they would add them at all.
I would LOVE to be able to send items to neighbors, and not just donuts. Maybe someone might want one of my Lard Lad donut shops (I got like 8 of them) in return for something I actually want.
The logistics would be challenging on EA’s side..but it’s nice to dream.
Sadly things like this are very difficult because hackers ruined the aspect. Those altering their games created an unfair game play advantage by sending themselves and their friends items they did not obtain legally (Whacking Day was a big one on this). This caused mass havoc and chaos on EA side and they were not too happy about it. Since then, they wrap up that ability to “give” to others pretty tightly.
Would love to have those kinds of options back, but as long as people don’t ruin it for the rest of us. Or it will just be taken away again.

I’m of 2 minds…
1. A silly lil mini event for our silly lil game could be fun – mini could work well for a baby event ;).
Something like a week or 10 days, until TTHOH comes along in October. Or maybe a fall event with 4 weeks for Halloween and 2 before or after for harvest or something yappy… Similar to what they did for winter 2104/15.
Could be different.
2. A quick level update to tide us over to TTHOH would be good too.
Maybe a puppy level update. *Chock. Chain.*
I nuked my town with the MR so I could re-design it with the stations as focal points. Starting to look good, but need more time to continue the redesign.
Agree with others about SH, it’s a bit too much of a grind for not much in return. I’m at $300M and will probably just take a long time to hit the billion.
Hope they add the option to toggle between the levels of each building, so we can choose which we like best. I hate to loose panther-kitty for lvl 4 of the business centre.
P.S. I agree with Harry; the ability to turn more buildings 360 degrees would be nice and make our SF more realistic.
I would like content from the episode kill the allagator and run. In that episode the simpsons are on the run and they stay in a trailor and work in a diner and get arrested and handcuffed even little Maggie . They wear orange prison overalls and have chains on their ankles .
I agree! We need maggie and it may sound weird but i want a crashed ufo too! Ooh, ooh and agents mulder and scully! Thats the files fan in me talkin. Also, does springfield have a zoo? A zoo would be cool to acquire. Im excited for the possible upcoming events!
Many of us already have a crashed UFO, Kodos’. We got him during the Treehouse of Horror (THOH) events.
Would be fun to have Fox and Mulder… Maybe they could be the main characters for this year’s THOH and the overall theme could be the paranormal of any kind rather than just zombies or aliens.

I’ve been on the Baby Event Demanders club since the beginning. We go by B.E.D. For short, I got to admit it is Tiring, every event and update without her I have to raise my voice for the silent little girl.
Besides what Bunny mentioned of new character possabilities, I’d like to add other skins such as Big Baby Barney (one of his odd jobs), Prank-Monkey Homer (making boom-boom in his Diaper). Even crazier, What if Tottler versions of Marge, Bart, Lisa, Milhouse, Nelson, Jimbo, Kearney (and Kearney’s son), little Burns (curlie hair, lollipop, bumper car riding), Snake’s son.
of course the School for Tots, As well as other locations not mentioned such as Wall-E Weasle’s and it’s ball pit, diaper mountain (which is more of a decoration), Icecream shop with Marge’s likeness, Larry Kidkill’s Zoo
Which brings up the Pacifier Bear (maybe with a cave), and of course Burn’s teddy bear Bobo. With Teddy Bear Smithers skin.
Though yes “Yapping” does seem like dogs instead of babies that don’t really talk at all. I think the “Rash” was a bigger clue. But EA has placed worded things that seemed like clues before but don’t pan out to anything so I’m not going to get my hopes up until they release a stronger clue like they did with the Rakes, or Monorail Homer silhouette.
But if true, and we do see Maggie that does open the Halloween door for a “This is Truely a Desturbing Universe” axe wielding Maggie, as well as Alien Baby Rigellian Maggie skin. (Since last year was an alien invasion, I’m leaning toward Parallel Universe Halloween event – or Homicidal Event)
Homicidal Event maybe with Go-Something-Something(crazy) Homer, Hungry Lunchlady Dora-is, Freddy Willie / Ax in back Willie, creepy school boy story (forget his name), … you know what, I’m rejecting this as something I would want. Though the Rumored Sideshow Bob/Bart episode would go along with the theme.
I would like to go into the Parellel Universe concept more but I’ll save that when we get closer to Halloween.
Thank You Bunny, Alissa and Wookie for allowing me to B.S. (Brain Storm) as often as I do and especially an actual Thread dedicated specificly for doing so. Seriously, One of the few things that make me happy (taking all this chatter in my head and putting it on paper/computer screen, it helps my brain cool down and not explode).

The yapping and the insert of the word ‘rash’ in its ambiguous meaning makes me think this update will be for the dogs. I’m thinking this is what we might see:
Boz (the new Flanders dog from last season, and because he’s a permanent character now this is highly suspect.)
She’s the Fastest – the other greyhound Santa’s Little Helper knocked up
Probably the Dog Obedience school and Mrs. Winthrope
Maybe finally a pen with actual hounds for Mr. Burns
Don’t forget about Laddie the Collie
And the dog that follows Bart to the cowboys house!
I’d like to see a tax collection system in the game. They could link it to the robo vacuum (I forgot the name) from the episode where Bart turned them sentient. Prof. frink could start saying he’s finally reprogrammed them to not be sentient anymore and now to collect money or something. The rest had to be destroyed because they were beyond help. I know it has nothing to do with yapping but I agree with most here and have Maggie.
The tax collection system is coming. Just not in the way you describe.
I just barely got my rail yard. I missed the other two final prizes due to game issues and I literally sat on this game round the clock working to get the donut amount down on the rail yard to something I felt ok with . I would have paid 100 got it down to 25 and went for it. I have been so nervous that the update would force its way in and I would lose it and never be able to complete this darn track. Now I will just wait and let the update take its course . Love the idea of the monorail but there have been some serious issues I hope they figure it out so we can actually have it function and not torn apart.
According to Apu the octuplets weight 150 kilogrammes, so letting them move around would be a big strain on EA’s servers.
And as I always have said: “EA give us Maggie!”
I’m hoping for a break in events, like many of us it seems. I pulled up most of my monorail because it was so haphazard I want to plan it out right, but I need to do some significant housekeeping in my town. . . . or it will look a mess! Give us a short break (2 weeks?) and let’s start Halloween fresh!

I’m behind Bunny on Maggie being a full character in the game, but can see it causing one issue. Most of us (or at least some of us) already completed the Main Simpsons family group, and got our prize for doing so. Once a group is completed, have they ever “added” a character? Since she is part of the main Simpsons family, can’t see them putting her into an “other Simpsons” category.
They have added new characters to groups before (sometimes they have moved them to other groups), you just get another bonus for completing it again.
Yes, new characters are added to existing groups all the time.
Yes they have addedcharacters after I’ve completed sets. Like I completed the Flanders family and collected my prize money, but then with that halloween event a few years ago they brought in Maude, and they offered prize money again so you get more money through that I guess. So they could very easily make Maggie a playable character.
Actually EA changes characters from their group sets VERY often, so adding one to an existing group shouldn’t be a problem. For example, if you check the Nuclear Power Plant’s employees group (or whatever it’s called in English), you can see Mindy, Frank Grimes, Zutroy and Ruth there, but this group existed much before they were added into the game, with its members being only Smithers, Lenny and Carl.
After all the pain and work I finally, finally got my monorail complete. Now I’m tired of it cluttering up my town and thinking of putting it in storage.
I don’t know how to get the rail yard.

I have my monorail, I have my superheroes… I’m happy now. But it won’t hurt to have Maggie added in our games I guess.
I am actually hoping to get a little break, and that we don’t have another big event until Halloween sometime in October. I still need to rearrange my Springfield to accommodate all the new stuff we’ve earned over the past month.
I’m hoping that they give mr teeny an alone job that is more than one hour.
