The IRS Building (Collect All Feature) is Live! (Updated and Complete)

Hey Howdy Hey Tappers!

Well a big day in send/collect all buttons for TSTO….the IRS building is live!

irslevel1_menu

This will kick off with an auto-start from Homer.  This will take me a little bit to get through but as soon as I run through it I’ll have the details up for y’all.

Back with more in a bit! Details below the fold…

As mentioned above things get auto-started from Homer…

Taxes Hold’Em Pt. 1
Homer Auto-starts

Homer: The best part of rebuilding Springfield is that it makes me proud of my accomplishments.  On second thought, the best part of rebuilding Springfield is all the money I’m collecting.

Make Homer Collect Income by Hardly Working-x3, 45s, Earns $3, 1xp
Collect Income from Buildings- x20

As it says you’ll have to COMPLETE the questline in order to unlock the IRS building.  So DO NOT PANIC if you don’t see it right away.  Just play the questline you’ll get there.

Taxes Hold’Em Pt. 2
Homer starts

Homer: Earning money is a lot harder now that Springfield is so big and everything is so expensive!
Lisa: It’s called inflation.  The more money you create out of thi air, the more expensive things will get.
Homer: I don’t really have THAT much money though, see…
Make Homer Count His Money- 1hr, Earns $70, 17xp

Taxes Hold’Em Pt. 3
Homer starts

Homer: Okay, okay.  Maybe I have SOME money.  Is that such a crime?
IRS Agent: Actually, Mr. Simpson.  Not paying taxes on your income is a very serious crime. I’m Agent Johnson of the IRS, and you’re going to tell me who else in your town has been evading their taxes.
Homer: Look, I get it.  You’re playing good cop, bad cop.  I’d like to speak to the good cop, please.
IRS Agent: That’s cute.  I am the good cop.
Homer: *whimper*
Make Homer Snitch on Tax Evaders- 1hr, Earns $70, 17xp
IRS Agent: So what you’re saying is that everyone in Springfield hasn’t paid any taxes since the town was destroyed?!  Even for a member of the IRS that’s too much paperwork.  I suppose since nobody can event ell me what state we’re in I have no choice but to let it slide.

Taxes Hold’Em Pt. 4
Homer starts

Homer: So, Agent Johnson.  What are you going to do now that the IRS is letting everyone in town evade their taxes?
IRS Agent: Our branch has to do something, and collecting money is all we know.  Isn’t there any use for that in this town?
Homer: Actually…

Build the IRS- FREE (it’s 8×8 in size, and an instant build)

Taxes Hold’Em Pt. 5
Auto start

IRS Agent: Okay, we’ve set up our new PERSONAL tax collection service.  We’ve started with the base service, which is free of charge.
Homer: Yeah, free, right.  I know how things work in this game.
IRS Agent: Come on, it’s free!  Give it a try.  It will allow you to collect your income in a more efficient, a.k.a lazier way.

2015-09-24 18.48.52
Collect Income Using the IRS- x3. This works just like any other thing with a tap radius (squishing aliens, tapping fans etc).  You simply tap a building and it will collect in that area.

Taxes Hold’Em Pt. 6
Auto-start

Homer: You really did make it easier.  How I can collect taxes while sitting on my couch with a beer in one hand, a sandwich in the other, another beer balanced on my belly, and in this cup holder…a second sandwich.
IRS Agent: I’m afraid to ask what you used to collect taxes with.
Homer: Years of working at the power plant has left me with a pretty useful vestigial tail. And pretty a useless case of irreversible radiation poisoning.  So…. can you make that circle thing even bigger so I can collect more money, in less time?
IRS Agent: Of course!  You just need to upgrade to our Deluxe or Mega-Lazy service.  Every time you do we’ll make it even easier to collect your income.
Homer: So to do less work collect money, I need to earn a bunch of money first by working?
IRS Agent: Exactly.  Let me give you a little lesson in economics.
Homer: Ugh, nevermind.  I’ll pay for the program as long as I don’t have to learn anything.

Upgrade the IRS to Level 2- Costs $50,000

This concludes the questline….but now there’s the matter of upgrading….

So now let’s talk about upgrading….

Remember Money Mountain?  Yea it’s just like that only you just spend cash, doesn’t take time.  Each level you move up will increase your Tap Radius so you can collect from more buildings at once.  (like the Herbicide Sprayer during the Sideshow Bob Event)

So let’s go over the levels…

Level 1- Free.
Level 2- Costs $50,000
Level 3- Costs $150,000 (tap radius is ok.  Doesn’t work well if you’re buildings are spaced out)
Level 4- Costs $$500,000
Level 5- Costs $1,000,000
Level 6- Costs $2,000,000
Level 7- Costs $3,000,000
Level 8- Costs $5,000,000
Level 9- Costs $7,000,000 Unlocks a new facade for the IRS building…

Homer: This is where all my taxes go?  To build the IRS a nicer building?! I wanted it to go to increase military spending!

Level 9 is the MAX level you can upgrade to.

Fully upgrading will cost you $18,700,000

This works for building income AND Character tasks.  So if you have characters outside on tasks you can use this to clear them all at once.

At level 9 your radius is pretty big, but it’s not massive.  It won’t cover your whole town at once or anything.  It’ll still take some tapping to clear buildings and tasks.

And that’s it my friends..the details behind the IRS building and the “collect all” feature.  Not a true collect all, but probably about as close as we’re going to get in TSTO.

Now…I know many of you are saying…”But what about the IRS Drone?!”  Especially after seeing this in your character collections:

2015-09-16 15.44.47

Well all I can tell you is this is NOT in the game right now.  Once it hits the game we’ll talk about it.  For now it’s not here…so please don’t ask me where it is or why it’s not in your game.  It’s not live in the game at this point….

What are your thoughts on the IRS building?  Thoughts about having to upgrade to increase the radius?  How about the fact that it won’t collect all the buildings at once?  Sound off in the comments below, you know we love hearing from you!

  1. Since all of this started, my game keeps crashing. Any ideas?

  2. Love all the new content and it looks like it’s cured the iOS bugs, well for me, so hope it has for everyone.
One part of the bug I noticed was that I did not receive FP from handshakes, only from visiting neighbours, and this is still happening.

Have EA stopped awarding a point for each handshake?

If so it would seem that it doesn’t really matter who visits you, only who you visit. Not very neighbour friendly, I kinda like seeing who are my good neighbours and who doesn’t reciprocate but I suppose it would make sense alongside the new content.

Thank you Alissa for getting, as always, the info out so quickly, it makes the game so much more fun. Thanks to Bunny and Wookiee as well. What a fantastic team you are, no wonder I visit here almost as much as I play the game!

    • 🙂

Handshake FPs should still be around. Sometimes they work, sometimes they don’t. It’s an annoying bug that’s been going on for several months now.

  3. I was hoping it collect from ALL buildings but Whatever.

  4. Well, it isn’t the vacuum cleaner feature on that other game, but it is much appreciated. As an oldbie, I had enough game currency to upgrade straight to level 9. And the fact that it will collect from characters in the affect area is very handy as well. I also like the new Unemployment Office, being able to send all characters, not already working on a particular task, to make me money, is a real time saver. I just need to make sure my characters are set to their optimum skins, e.g., their stonemason robes, Marge in her witch costume, Homer in his Mr Plow costume.

  5. brown houses and kwik-e-marts re-spawn every few minutes. putting a few more of these around your town would allow you to keep the convenient tap radius and give neighbors something to tap. best of both worlds, imo.

  6. I love the “IRS finger”, upgraded to level 5 and will probably let it stay there, I want to keep a bit of control of what buildings to keep tapable for my neighbors. Overall a great addition and good compromise between “collect all – leave nothing for neighbors” and “tap all buildings”.

However I put the Unemployment Agency back in to storage in my main town. Couldn’t figure out a system of how to use it that doesn’t interfere with who I actually want on what task. And if I have to go through my list anyway to start the tasks I do not want to be started automatically, I can as well start everyone’s tasks like that. It’s useful in my B-towns though, where I don’t do this kind of selection.

  7. I upgraded the IRS to the fancy facade but I placed it in storage. First of all I don’t like that I can’t tap on my character’s accomplishments without collecting all the buildings around it. I like to leave my buildings for my friends so they always have something to tap. I can see that I would have loved it when I was first starting out and trying to collect money but now money is the easiest thing to get (proving it is easier to make money if you have money).

    • simple solutuionm. add some brown houses or kwikemarts the reginerate quicker, that way as soon as ur tap everything, withing 5 minutes,u have 10-30-50 (however many u add) that people can tap on. if you dont like the time saved, then yeah store it and move on, I just cant understand why anyone would want to spend anymore time than they have to to clear the money

  8. I think it’s staying in storage for me for now. I recently spent a lot of cash buying more land and I still haven’t finished Money Mountain. I hate the upgrade symbol hanging over buildings, it just makes me feel compelled to upgrade even when I know my cash is better spent elsewhere. I had to store everything in the Heights and just bring them out one at a time to upgrade, otherwise the upgrade symbols drive me crazy. I’m also concerned about knocking out too many buildings and leaving my neighbours with nothing to tap.

  9. I am so glad both the updates hit, it’s almost like EA read my mind as I’ve been on the verge of stopping playing for a while because it’s just become one huge chore to play. I just don’t have the time to tap so much, the game has what, close enough to 150 characters and if you’re house farming, countless buildings to tap.

    Thanks!

    • So you’re saying you’re tapped out?

      • Ha, nice pun. On the verge of, yeah. The Monorail update almost made me quit for good – I had to tap each building at least twice, more often than not my first tap didn’t get the garbage so I had to tap again, then I’d have to tap again to collect the money. Drove me nuts.

  10. Big help no more having to tap the buildings one at a time only drawback is having to amass tons of cash to upgrade

  11. It will take me a long time to get to level 9.. i am happy with level 3 or 4, which ever one I am at now.

  12. I think this is the first building I stored immediately after finishing the quest line. Easy collection seems very appealing at first, but I can not leave the stuff I don’t want to collect for whatever reason easily untouched.

  13. It’s like my birthday has come early. First the “Unemployment Office almost send all.” And now a radius for our taps. Shoot all of our birthdays have come early.

There were times I was using my pinkee or other fingers to tap, cause my pointer was sore and tired.

Thank you EA. And as always thank you Alissa, Bunny, $ Chewie 🙂

  14. Upgraded completely, For now keeping it looking all fancy but I like that it can be switched to the first look. Not sure which I will go with Long term.

Yeah, like others have some buyers/upgraders remorse because wanting to leave untapped buildings for the neighbors, so if EA is listening: How about an Anti-Radius Lock we can place on curtain buildings (that we actually need to manually on tap to collect), Now since we still don’t have a full character Maggie in the game I assume EA isn’t reading this :p

One more thing, I know Alissa doesn’t want us talking about the Drone/Pet that we don’t have in the game yet. I would hope it would be more than a NPC, wouldn’t it be cool if we can send it to tap neighbors or at least Alert Us when the 24hr waiting period is over to tap them? I can Only dream. Now if EA can make this a reality that would be great, and if they can also have an option to do my real state and federal taxes that would be even better :p

    • Since I’m making crazy requests, I have another:

Similar to my Anti-Radius Lock (for buildings), I would like to see a Skin/outfit Lock for sending characters on tasks (like Keeping Moneybags/See-my-Vest Burns) and Stonecutter robes since they earn more than the normal skin.

And one more lock while I’m at it. this one being the LOCH(lock)ness Monster for my sea. :p

      • You make crazy requests?! Never!

      • I noticed this yesterday, some characters are walking round in robes but it doesn’t seem to send them on premium skin quests.

Also, it has a proximity tap for your own Springfield but not others? So I still have to tap 3 times to collect FP. You’d have thought they at least had a mini-proximity tap in neighbours’ towns.

I also noticed it won’t send Springfielders on group tasks if they have outstanding tasks. So yesterday when it wanted 10 to do a six hour job for a quest, I could only send 2 people on timed jobs until I’d completed the six hour quest.

    • All I said is don’t ask me when it’s hitting lol

  15. These new buttons are stupid! They should change the name to “the Simpsons tap”

  16. So freakin cool – got mine to level 5 and I just love tapping now

  17. I’m thinking I might store the IRS, it’s hitting too many buildings and I’m concerned my neighbours will pop in and not have too much to tap. I’ll see how it goes before I make the final decision…I’m at level 5, will probably leave it at that. I do like the button to send all on tasks….

Thank you for posting so much information on here, once again your help is greatly appreciated.

  18. It is a awesome day for this TSTO player, the Simpsons gods read my mind I have said to my self many times as I’m maxed out and a premium player in every aspect of the game how when I’m playing in a crunch situation that it would be awesome to have this exact thing and here it is I maded my its building out immediately (with over 60 million ) it was easy to do and so far am loving it can’t wait till I wake up tomorrow and my 6000 buildings (being sarcastic 🙂 are ready to collect on
I’m really having fun with every thing they are throwing at us I have waaaaay to much time at work so I play a lot and the more they throw at us the happier I get it don’t take much to make me happy
As always thanks to the three that keep us all from needing a truck load of Xanax from freaking out and explain and help us all with our problems
    Aloha and mahalo
    Shaun

  19. Well, I have a serious case of buyer’s remorse! I don’t know why I kept upgrading, I guess because I wanted to see how the building would look, and before I knew it I’d spent more than $10M on something I don’t even want. I like to leave buildings for my neighbors to tap, and I also like to make little tableaus with my characters. That’s exponentially harder to do when they all wander out of position while you’re trying to get to them and scroll through their task list for the appropriate one. (It would be awesome if you could move characters and place them where you want them. I was so annoyed when Kang’s “read How to Cook Humans” task became a moving rather than a stationary task.) So I’ve already stored the blasted building. Grrr.

  20. The IRS effect also works in Krustyland, but at what looks like the Lev 1 size. Still handy for all those park visitors.

  21. Can you put the building in storage? will the radius go away? I don’t want to collect all buildings at once. Sometimes I have 4 blue houses with handshakes and 3 without, and i want to leave those 3 for neighbors to tap.

  22. The final facade looks nice , glad I was able to whittle down 50mil , Hope they add a few more aspirational items, Now add a few more land strips & fix the visiting friends crashing before Halloween !! 😉

  23. i wish you make so it only collect from 2 hr and up

  24. Good news. If you store the building the tap radius goes away.

    ☺😊😀😁😃😄💲💲💲💲🐣🐤🐥🐦🐴

  25. It’s cool the huge radius but I’m regretting it already. Once maxed out its too big and hits buildings I usually save for my neighbors to tap on. CRap.

    • I’ve already stored it. Storing it removes the radius collecting power. I also selectively tap on buildings and characters. Hopefully this will be useful during events where I will probably want to “auto” collect. Then I will place it in my town again!

      • Julie (Jsander321)

        Great answer and idea!!
I’m probably going to store it since I don’t want to collect all buildings and characters together. The thought of bringing it out for events where friend actions on buildings aren’t needed just thrilled me!! Thanks for the suggestion!!
I just unlocked the IRS before I go to bed and will finish quest line in the morning.

  26. A bit pricey, but cool. I’m more thrilled about being able to send everyone out on jobs with one click, as using the character button sometimes crashes my game.

  27. I think I got a bit overzealous this afternoon with the multi-building zapper, wide radii, fat-fingered-sky finger irs…thing. I may have left nothing for visiting neighboreenos to tap tonight.

    :S

  28. Did anybody else get a new complete land expansion belt? It doesn’t show normally like the previous ones but is available if you go into purchase land option.

  29. I AM LOVING IT!
Yes, the upgrades are pricey, but I think they are os worth it. I make about $1M every few days and like having at least $1.5M in the bank for when new levels hit our silly little game, so it’ll take a bit to bring to level 9. But, I love the radius. So much faster to collect and gets into corners I may have missed before…

    • How do you make so much so fast? Takes me forever to make a mil

      • alex - aabcampos2

        lots of premiun decorations

      • saldoroxx: Lots of people have house farms that generate tons of money. And there are other players who just happen to have tens of millions of dollars squirreled away.

And when you’re at a high level, you just have a LOT of buildings and characters. My friend already has about 149 playable characters!

      • Ya, I have 118 characters I think and many are premium or have premium skins.
Last year I got free iTunes cards and bought like $200 worth of donuts, so have tons of premium building and decorations and my % bonus is 150%.
I’m not a fan of house farms though, they’re kinda ugly, I like designing and having fun with my town.
It takes some time, but even if you’re freemium, you’ll get there.

      • Hey everyone,
Who know when it will go away but I can’t stop playing tennis to get my multiplyer up. I’ve gone from 70% up to 240% and I can’t stop. I know I won’t be able to leave them around forever but until I make enough money, I came up with a good trick to place them. They fit over the roads, so where you have roads you want to keep, you can temporarily erase the roads and place the courts. It doesn’t look great but you make money and XP soooooo much quicker. I can’t believe they have let it last his long.
I was wondering, have they ever removed the multiplyer from a deco in a situation like this? Thanx and have fun.

  30. What a cool…no…SUPERCOOL addition to the game!

I went ahead and just upgraded it to Level 9. The slightly larger radius is really helpful and (thankfully) I had the spare cash to do it.

I know EA probably doesn’t spend as much time in here as I do, but if they happen to come across this: thanks!!!
