Well a big day in send/collect all buttons for TSTO….the IRS building is live!
This will kick off with an auto-start from Homer. This will take me a little bit to get through but as soon as I run through it I’ll have the details up for y’all.

Homer Auto-starts
Homer: The best part of rebuilding Springfield is that it makes me proud of my accomplishments. On second thought, the best part of rebuilding Springfield is all the money I’m collecting.

As it says you’ll have to COMPLETE the questline in order to unlock the IRS building. So DO NOT PANIC if you don’t see it right away. Just play the questline you’ll get there.

Homer: Earning money is a lot harder now that Springfield is so big and everything is so expensive!
Lisa: It’s called inflation. The more money you create out of thi air, the more expensive things will get.

Homer starts
Homer: Okay, okay. Maybe I have SOME money. Is that such a crime?
IRS Agent: Actually, Mr. Simpson. Not paying taxes on your income is a very serious crime. I’m Agent Johnson of the IRS, and you’re going to tell me who else in your town has been evading their taxes.
Homer: Look, I get it. You’re playing good cop, bad cop. I’d like to speak to the good cop, please.
IRS Agent: That’s cute. I am the good cop.
Homer: *whimper*

IRS Agent: So what you’re saying is that everyone in Springfield hasn’t paid any taxes since the town was destroyed?! Even for a member of the IRS that’s too much paperwork. I suppose since nobody can event ell me what state we’re in I have no choice but to let it slide.

Homer starts
Homer: So, Agent Johnson. What are you going to do now that the IRS is letting everyone in town evade their taxes?
IRS Agent: Our branch has to do something, and collecting money is all we know. Isn’t there any use for that in this town?
Homer: Actually…

Auto start
IRS Agent: Okay, we’ve set up our new PERSONAL tax collection service. We’ve started with the base service, which is free of charge.
Homer: Yeah, free, right. I know how things work in this game.
IRS Agent: Come on, it’s free! Give it a try. It will allow you to collect your income in a more efficient, a.k.a lazier way.
Collect Income Using the IRS- x3. This works just like any other thing with a tap radius (squishing aliens, tapping fans etc). You simply tap a building and it will collect in that area.

Auto-start
Homer: You really did make it easier. How I can collect taxes while sitting on my couch with a beer in one hand, a sandwich in the other, another beer balanced on my belly, and in this cup holder…a second sandwich.
IRS Agent: I’m afraid to ask what you used to collect taxes with.
Homer: Years of working at the power plant has left me with a pretty useful vestigial tail. And pretty a useless case of irreversible radiation poisoning. So…. can you make that circle thing even bigger so I can collect more money, in less time?
IRS Agent: Of course! You just need to upgrade to our Deluxe or Mega-Lazy service. Every time you do we’ll make it even easier to collect your income.
Homer: So to do less work collect money, I need to earn a bunch of money first by working?
IRS Agent: Exactly. Let me give you a little lesson in economics.
Homer: Ugh, nevermind. I’ll pay for the program as long as I don’t have to learn anything.
Upgrade the IRS to Level 2- Costs $50,000
This concludes the questline….but now there’s the matter of upgrading….
So now let’s talk about upgrading….
Remember Money Mountain? Yea it’s just like that only you just spend cash, doesn’t take time. Each level you move up will increase your Tap Radius so you can collect from more buildings at once. (like the Herbicide Sprayer during the Sideshow Bob Event)
So let’s go over the levels…
Level 1- Free.
Level 2- Costs $50,000
Level 3- Costs $150,000 (tap radius is ok. Doesn’t work well if you’re buildings are spaced out)
Level 4- Costs $$500,000
Level 5- Costs $1,000,000
Level 6- Costs $2,000,000
Level 7- Costs $3,000,000
Level 8- Costs $5,000,000
Level 9- Costs $7,000,000 Unlocks a new facade for the IRS building…
Homer: This is where all my taxes go? To build the IRS a nicer building?! I wanted it to go to increase military spending!
Level 9 is the MAX level you can upgrade to.
Fully upgrading will cost you $18,700,000
This works for building income AND Character tasks. So if you have characters outside on tasks you can use this to clear them all at once.
At level 9 your radius is pretty big, but it’s not massive. It won’t cover your whole town at once or anything. It’ll still take some tapping to clear buildings and tasks.
And that’s it my friends..the details behind the IRS building and the “collect all” feature. Not a true collect all, but probably about as close as we’re going to get in TSTO.
Now…I know many of you are saying…”But what about the IRS Drone?!” Especially after seeing this in your character collections:
Well all I can tell you is this is NOT in the game right now. Once it hits the game we’ll talk about it. For now it’s not here…so please don’t ask me where it is or why it’s not in your game. It’s not live in the game at this point….
What are your thoughts on the IRS building? Thoughts about having to upgrade to increase the radius? How about the fact that it won’t collect all the buildings at once? Sound off in the comments below, you know we love hearing from you!
Do I have to upgrade the irs? Does it have a knock of effect with tasks/Game storyline? Apart from the larger collect radius do you gain anything from it?
Nope don’t have to do it.
For some reason, I blew up my springfield, then i looked in my inventory, and i can find my IRS building…
Check your whole inventory list, not the individual icons. If you still don’t see it, contact EA
I don’t mind being able to click less to get things done but it only works within your own Springfield (its a start and I think EA is listening to what Tappers want). 🙂
So I purchased the IRS drone, I see that it is in my character list, but other than that, I cannot find it anywhere in my my game…where do I look for it?
Never mind! Found it after I restarted the game. Watching it fly around, waiting to see what happens regarding crashing into houses…or what ever it was that I read it was supposed to do!
It follows the same paths as Characters. So check roads and anywhere a Character would walk.
Hi Lynne, I purchased the IRS Drone but I have no idea what it is supposed to do. I haven’t found anything on here about it yet. Do you know?

I’m not a fan of the new mass jobs or the Income collecting. For me, this is the most annoying update. I leave certain areas in my Springfield for others to collect and now no matter where I tap it collects.
The unemployment update doesn’t let you put all characters on certain jobs, regardless of the skins!
I stored mine because the radius annoyed me..
i like this for Krustyland. would LOVE if this applied to visiting neighbors. it’s a nuisance for Springfield and Springfield Heights though. also, if it’s going to cost me $ (crafting and neighbor taps), then it’ll sit in storage until actually becomes useful. being a completely freemium player i’m not really a fan of the unemployment office either..but that pays rent, so it stays.
That is a lot of money to dump into upgrading the IRS building – is it really worth it?
No one can tell you if it’s worth it to you. For some it’s worth it, for others it’s not. It’s all about how you play and if you’ll use it…
Its really to do with how big your town is, I’ve bought all the land, am max level and have tons of buildings as well as a massive number of blue houses for money farming, so this is a huge advantage and time saver for me,however you may not benifit from it if you are a lower level player or a new player, it really depends on your town

Yes you can.
Well , I wasn’t looking spent up to the 2 million mark. It’s almost my whole screen. I went from 20 minutes collecting to about 15 seconds…… oh happy day and renewed faith.
Unfortunately I’m a smuggion away from 58 have the quest but no cash

Am I the only one who hates the IRS building. It’s tempting me to stop playing TSTO.
First of all, there no point in playing, since ithe game “plays itself”. But also… I used to tap on my buildings in order. Whenever a friend visited me I would have to leave that building untapped until all the other 12hr buildings or 8hr buildings or whatever were ready. Now I can’t do that :-(.

Simple solution is to just store the IRS building. If you ever want to have the tap radius back, just replace it… problem solved.
These last updates were both long and heavily requested features by players. Fortunately ea listened to them, as there’s plenty more to this game than manually setting tasks and clearing buildings in order….. you know, like designing your town….
And like wookiee said, if you hate it so much, just store the irs building and don’t use the job manager at the unemployment building.

I honestly was about to quit playing for the opposite reason. Finishing and assigning 80 plus jobs was beginning to become to much of a daily time investment. With the new update it can go back to being a little short time killer
I got the IT’S building and quickly upgraded back to back up to level 6. Before upgrading I had over $5 million. After upgrading, I had less than $30,000! Not cool. By my math, I should’ve still had around $2 million. Is there anything I can do about this? Anyone else experiencing similar problems?
How come my IRS BUILDING auto resets? It also doesn’t take all the characters and I end up tapping on most if not all of them to put them to task?

Ok, so we are all busy collecting taxes and tapping away on our houses and buildings etc. But what about friend points? Will we still be able to gather those?

Is it just me or is this going to make it way harder to leave building for neighbours to tap?!
For me it’s no different than normal
To all worried about buildings to be tapped by friends just build a couple of brown houses they are cheap and it a couple of quick e marts and they are ready to tap in 5 minutes or les depending on witch ones you decide on that’s what I have just a thought hope this helps

I agree. I have a pretty densely populated SF. The increased tap radius makes it hard for me to tap only what I want to collect. I stored the IRS building in the hopes that it would turn off this functionality. It does. There is a pop up message that warns you that this will happen when you try to store it. Never fear. I brought the building back out and the functionality returned. I think this building will be fabulous during events where you don’t need to leave buildings untapped for neighbors.
I may have missed this, and if I did I apologize, but I’m on Level 27 and have not received any quests in regards to this yet…

The popup reward? That’s always 100 and 10xp. The cash you earn for the tasks comes from the characters, not that popup. That’s just a bonus for completing the quest.
You guys talk about upgrading already? How do you get that much cash? I’m at max level and play all day, yet earning the required 18million in total will take me year to save for that one thing alone? How do I earn more money, faster?

As Nicholas said, buy A LOT of buildings. It sounds expensive, but IMHO, the return-on-investment in the long term is worth it. If memory serves, I can currently earn around $500K per day *just* from my farm of purple houses, and routinely “level up” instantly when a new level hits my phone.
Hopefully X-house farmers who stored their 600 + houses didn’t sell them all when EA gave a big payout if you sold those houses.
Cause ….. This is the time to pull out the houses and have a tappin awesome time 🙂 lol !!!!
This is a poorly executed item. It should be a $50M item, not donuts. I buy most things sometimes multiple for the design look or great XP Bonus, but I am passing on this one.

I was wondering how big the tapping radius from the completely leveled up it’s building is? How few taps can you use to clear an entire springfield? I’m up to level 4 but that brings me to my second question.
I never let my in game cash go below 3-4 million usually but will go down to about 2 million when new levels come out. I have all the land except the final strip. Should I focus on getting the land or upgrading the irs building? I know it’s personal opinion, I’m just curious what others would or have done. Thanx and have fun
Tried twice to blow up my Springfield to start over… both times the app crashed. When reloaded my town looked the same! Guess it’s a sign not to blow up my town but really want to start over…
I only upgraded my IRS bldg one level. It’s not giving me the option to store it. Do you have to upgrade it to level 9 in order to store it?

Ok I had one of those moments last night where my brain had already gone to sleep but I had to tap out before allowing myself sleep. I built my IRS building and leveled it up, since I had just tapped out my town I didn’t get to try it out and went to bed. So imagine my surprise when I got up and played (having no immediate recall as to playing last night) and the first thing I tap on there were shock waves and my entire screen cleared. I was confused for a few seconds till it hit me.

I truly appreciate this change in the game. I had started playing way less because the tapping was just so blah. Between this and the unemployment office….I AM BACK!
Spent much of my savings upgrading to level 9, and now my IRS building is in storage. As others have said, the radius is massive. After a few taps, there’s hardly anything left for neighbors. Also, if you’re one of those players like me who likes to stage large groups of characters together with stationary tasks, the level 9 IRS tap will inadvertently clear them out when you tap too close. Glad they offered the feature for those that appreciate it, but I’m very relieved that storing the building disables the tap radius. Hopefully my neighbors aren’t using it or I’ll never get my Mulberry Island. >-(
I personally don’t think i will upgrade it anymore its taking everything and not leaving much in the way for my neighbors.
The IRS building really excited me as it has made my game easier. I am developing bad wrist, neck, eyes due to this game. Not to mentioned the tremendous amount of time I spent on it. Really an addiction.

I’m just gonna throw this out there, since Marge got a new 8hr task that obviously means Maggie is coming eventually, but WHEN exactly?? I think we’re gonna have a giant mutant baby Halloween!! All the babies have grown to massive proportions and are taking over Springfield, and it’s our job to save the town!! Or maybe something with Alien Maggie and Kang and Kodos turning everyone else into aliens as well! Whatever it is I think we’ll be getting Maggie by the end of Halloween 😊
That’s so crazy, it just might work. Since we had an alien invasion last year I have a hard time imagining another one so soon. There are still Vampires, Witches, Werewolves, Frink-instiens, invisable men etc. that we haven’t seen invade yet.
Personally I think I want invisable men take over and the way to make them truely disapear is taking them to the Dry Cleaners (the clothes they wear to the dry cleaners and then they can be naked invisable men which isn’t as much as a problem) 😛 But what Dry Cleaners you may ask: The one that Sarcastic Clerk works of course.
Got to admit, it’s so crazy, it just might work. :p
