Looks like Ol’ Gil has made a return to Springfield…and this time he’s brought loads of Oktoberfest gear with him!
Going through all the details now…so as always we’ll be back with more in just a bit…
P.S. This Gil deal hitting now tells me we’re likely to see Halloween (assuming EA does an event this year, which I have no reason not to believe they would) next Tuesday or Wednesday (October 6th or 7th)…
So as you should all know by now Gil deals are donut deals. So if you have no interest in spending donuts…pass on them. There are only 2 new items associated with this event, everything else is either in the store already or returning from a previous event.
As always we’ll do Should I Buys for items we don’t already have them for…just give me a little time to assess and get them written up 😉 Initial thought process…with the exception of maybe Beer Stein Wiggum (who’s initially jumping out at me..) save your donuts for Halloween.
Now onto the content…
FIRST let’s talk about a couple of changes NOT Oktoberfest related..
In Springfield Heights the Tennis Courts are now gone. Hope you took advantage while it was here…
In your regular store menu (check new and premium sections) you’ll find the IRS Drone. It’s now been released to our games for 50 donuts. From what I can tell initially, it doesn’t do anything other than fly around Springfield.
Now onto the Oktoberfest Gil Deals….
Gil: According to my “Kill Yourself Tomorrow!” daily affirmation calendar, this week is Oktoberfest! do you know what that means?
Uter: Ja! Oktoberfest is my favorite holiday. It combines ze gluttony of Thanksgiving with ze overeating of Halloween!
Gil: Here’s a phrase ol’ Gil never head: you’re in luck! I’ve got fun German and beer-themed things, plus you get donuts back with every purchase.
Wiggum: German stuff, eh? Anything festive yet slimming for a police chief once voted both “Most Handsome” and “most likely to doctor superlative results?”
Gil: I’ve got just the thing. It’s in the store for a limited time!
If you don’t go into the store right away…

Everything ends October 6th, 2015 at 0800 GMT. Various Deals expire on different dates, so be sure to check the timers in your store.
As we’ve seen with some other Gil deals in the past this will be released in waves. With some stuff hitting today, more coming on Friday and still more to be released on Sunday.
This is also a rebate Gil deal. So spend the donuts up front and you’ll get some back once you make the purchase. Not a bad deal…if you have the donuts.

The Hungry Hun and Uter- 160 donuts (regular cost) and you’ll get 45 donuts back when purchased, for a net cost of 115 donuts. Should I Buy. Uter did not have a costume last year for Halloween. (doesn’t mean he won’t this year, just saying last year he didn’t have one)
Boardwalk Fountain- 75 Donuts (regular cost) and you’ll get 30 donuts back when purchased, for a net cost of 45 donuts. Should I Buy.
Oktoberfest Gate- 40 Donuts (regular cost) and you’ll get 15 donuts back when purchased, for a net cost of 25 donuts. 2% bonus on all cash and XP (Vanity +500) 1×6 in size and the flags at the top are animated when purchased. Leaves October 2nd a 0800 GMT.
Beer Stein Wiggum- 70 Donuts (regular cost) and you’ll get 25 back when purchased, for a net cost of 45 donuts. Premium skin for Wiggum.

Given Uter is a monorail character, I’m thinking Greta is involved in Halloween this year.
But I dumped my bonuts in Uter as I’m wanting more plastic production and he’s on sale. Hoping for a costume this year,nonetheless.
NSF for Greta, wish I could afford Lurleen, but I’d have to find forty bonuts by Friday. And I like that fountain, always have. The gate is a great deal for the bonus given the price.
Expatrie-
I got a rare treat visiting neighbors today. Two donuts in one town. Of course that was my only two for the day, but I’m not complaining! Two donuts a day is just A-OK. (That rhymes Marge and you know it rhymes, admit it!) I’m tempted to use them on Uter and slightly more tempted by Lurleen but I think I’ll hold off. While I like both characters neither are exactly favorites of mine and neither is on my wish list. I’ll just save them for Halloween or maybe if they do another Black Friday deal like last year I can get something that is on my list.
Sidekick millhouse now earns premium none of the other skins from the super hero event do though, randomly noticed this not sure if anyone’s mentioned it or if you guys seen it thanks for everything guys you really do a great job here
It’s been doing that for awhile, but I’m not sure how long.
If I recall correctly, the costume was re-released as premium during the Superheroes event (it was originally part of Valentine’s). So it’s been paying premium for quite some time now.
Sidekick Millhouse was actually released shortly before the event as a sort of teaser, that may be why he’s coded differently

It’s because it was released before the superhero event as a reward and brought out during the super hero event as premium. It’s been premium for quite a while now.

I had 730 donuts (I enjoy being a premium player)! I had them saved for Halloween and Christmas but I couldn’t resist on Üter!
Question for anyone with Greta:
Does she have a one hour task? I know a lot of characters got new tasks with the new-and-improved unemployment office/task manager, and I see (via our awesome Addicts’ list) that she got a new 8 hour task with that, but is she still missing a one hour task? That’s the only thing keeping me on the fence with this Gil deal. Thanks! 🙂
I know she picked up an 8 hour task, texting children of other celebrities, but I don’t know about a 1 hour task.

Huh? Didn’t she always have that 1hr task? Well I prefer visual tasks for her so I’m not sure but she definitely has it now.

Pretty cool Gil deal, I have to admit – not sure if I am going to take advantage of anything, but the Wiggum Stein is on my radar. Been saving my donuts for Kodos, to be honest. This’ll be my third Halloween, and I am not missing out on him his year…
With 275 donuts, and awaiting Halloween “once a year” or “one time only” offerings – I am sorely tempted to purchase discounted Uter, who can help both in SH AND in recycling/ making tracks/ earning donuts. Wish the Uter offer was around longer, but EA needs to make a profit and entice players to purchase donuts to pay for all these nice updates. And I only started playing about one year ago, so this is my first Halloween with Donuts and Money. (🍩💰)

Im a freemium player too and snatched up Üter pretty quick – made a dent in my donut stash, too. Ill probably hang onto the rest of them until Black Friday…
oh… almost wish I had not read this. I have 231 pink things. He is useful both in the dump and plastic…… I must have him. 2 weeks 10 doughnuts. 5 more this week. Ya I’m not going to stop making tracks anytime soon. I think I’ll get him………… and Uter has just arrived in town. down to 116 pink things.

I highly recommend Üter, not only is he helpful but the building is a great match, very easy to fit in. Plus his visual tasks are fun

Ditto… I have 301 donuts have been saving for Halloween as well.. But can’t resist uter… So now only have 186 left for Halloween .
Loved the building though… Sit in nicely with “forest” theme.
Why can’t they have a sale on all the buildings, I still don’t have sleazy motel or apu s apartment or the building with the man who has the tiger. They
should of done it for the whole month of October , with different buildings,
other than these ones, like that u have lots of options to buy the buildings
that u do not have yet or that u really want. It would really benefit Ea, also.

They have already done a sale like that at the beginning of the year. They wouldn’t do another huge one just before a big Event in the game.
Last year there was a black friday/cyber monday sale. Much like this sale, it had “rebates” so you still had to get 140 donuts to get 45 donuts back and the like. Maybe they’ll do it again this year.
I always wanted to place 9 boardwalk fountains together, but you were only allowed to buy one.
I now have 4 just because they’re really expensive :/.

A few days ago I was thinking to myself “we haven’t seen a Gil Deal in a while” and then my imagination took over from there. Thinking what if Gil showed up, offering Maggie for 200 donuts and Marge Yells at Gil “Give Me Back My Baby!” And Homer saying “I’m not giving up my Precious donuts for yet another mouth to feed”, “HOMER!!!” “Did I say I’m not giving up my precious Donuts, I mean… Give Us back our baby you Monster!!” “Aw, Gee’s OK, Ok, Ol’Gil needs the money but fine, Have your baby back for Free,,, But I can come baby sit right? Right?” (Thus rewarding us the long awaited Baby girl before Halloween)
BUT NO! It’s Octoberfest items instead… (Which I think I’ll at least get Greta, still debating over Lurleen) After the Monorail event I thought Lyle Lanely would take Gil’s Job and thus make Gil an full game character, but I was Wrong about that too, obviously. :/

Oh too bad EA isn’t listing all the donut goodies now. I’m freemium and have a good little pile of donuts. I wouldn’t mind Uter or Lurlene… but what if something comes that’s better?
Right? I kinda want Uter but this’ll be the first Halloween I actually have donuts to spend as a freemium player so I might hold off for those Halloween goodies.
I’ve had the update I brought 3 fountains one gate and chief wiggum I went off my game and when I went back on it asked me to update again and when the game came on the wiggum costume and gate had gone I still had the 3 fountains but will only let me build one one please help

A neat thing is that the Boardwalk fountain is no longer unique, so you can buy as many as you want (or can afford…) for your Squidport!
FYI…they fixed jub jubs 24 hour task to pay premium. 😉
In the SIB for the Fountain, it says there is a limit of 1 per game. Is that correct? I already have 1, if I got another would it just uselessly sit in my inventory?
When it was released it was only one for Squidport. This sale allows you to buy as many as you want for donuts. Otherwise, those just hitting it in Squidport will still have the only ONE option and nothing more.
Your post says that Greta did not have a Halloween costume last year but in the Should I Buy post it says that she did have a task to earn Halloween treat bags. So I think that there’s good reason to believe that she’ll be helpful this Halloween.
I’m still undecided between which of the 3 building/character combos I should get.
That all depends on WHO EA uses this year and what they use them for.
So the update reset my settings for confirm donut spend.
Naturally I checked out the sale but with the screen froze , next thing I know I have a stupid Hungry Hun and a hand full of donuts after spending 3 months building up 190 from events and level ups.

Treated myself to 900 donuts because I couldnt resist buying the Beer Stein Wiggum costume – Love the Duffless episode and so this was a must have for me. Love watching Wiggum woddle around Springfield! He also pays out at the Premium Character price so i’m pretty stoked with this one.
In addition, I snapped up Uter and the Hungry Hun, makes sense to buy him now with a discount rather than further down the track when he is at full price.
Same thing for Lurleen and the Beer n Brawl and Greta and the Prep School – may as well snap them up while they’re discounted rather than deciding I want them later on.
Kid of the 80’s here so loved the older episodes with the likes of Lurleen and Beer Stein Wiggum so i’m kinda stoked with these deals in the lead up to Halloween.
So now i’m all geared up for Halloween next week with heaps of donuts leftover!
Ooooo, Octoberfest gate nets at 25 donuts for 2%? SOLD! That’s as good as The Gumple balloon and one of the best donut/bonus deals.
That’s what I thought too! I’d normally jump at such a no-brainer deal, but now that I have like >100 Tennis Courts I’m totally rethinking my priorities regarding the bonus multiplier. I had been saving up for Grimesy and his 3.75% grave (providing a better payout than a character’s building) but now I don’t know any more. A good problem to have, for sure, but still a problem.
I’ve had a few problems with this I had the dialogue come up and brought wiggum costume an gate and 3 fountains then went off the game but when income back on it asked me to update again I got into my game and the wiggum quest line had gone my gate had gone but I still had my 3 fountains but only let’s me build one :/ please help
Try some basics and if it does not help, contact EA right away. Rollbacks tend to happen with new updates. It is random on who gets them. So double check your Inventory Storage Menu first in the Costumes and Decorations for the items as well as the opening Inventory Main Screen.

Yay a real Gil deal! And to all the people that love the non-Gil deals: the Mansion of Solid Gold came back as a limited item and not part of a Gil deal for 250 donuts therefore the Gil deals that only have limited items and no actual discount are misleading at best and, in my opinion, misspelling at worst as they are not a deal! They are a limited time item like any other limited time item.
Now these proper discounted deals are good like the schools out deal back in June. I will be getting the 3 building/character combos and also I may get the costume for Wiggum!
Thrilled! Finally got Uter!
Uter and Lurleen have been on my want list for awhile, and even though I’m not a beer person either, I couldn’t pass up Wiggum in the beer stein. Hoping Uter will get a Halloween costume this year, so bought him as soon as I saw him. It’s going to suck up my donuts, but hopefully there won’t be any horribly pricey Halloween stuff I *need* to buy.
Gil has not visited my town today, even checked for updates. I’m kind of holding out for Halloween anyway, it’s always my favorite event of the year.
Too bad there’s no Scorpio. Last time he was in a Gil deal I was short by a few donuts, but I’ve got plenty now. While I like most of these items none of them are must haves for me, so I’ll probably hold off until Halloween. I guess I have a few days to think about it.
