Hey there Holly Jolly Grinches!
The Season in the USA is getting a bit chilly, lights are strung up all over the place, Christmas Music on all sorts of stations, and we are all patiently awaiting with anticipation just WHAT might be in store for us for this year’s CHRISTMAS EVENT!
Figured I would bounce on by with a few thoughts of my own.
With this being the 4th incarnation of a Christmas Event, is there really a lot left for them to drop into our games? Well of course there is! We have YEARS of episodes and thoughts to choose from all over the span of the Simpsons World to choose from. These are some thoughts and ideas of the things I would like to see hit our games for a Christmas Event.
Maggie in her Star Snowsuit: I WANT MAGGIE! For frakk’s sake who at EA do I have to make nice with for this to happen? I mean COME ON!! I have begged for her since day one, and here we are years later. Can’t you find it in your heart to give Bunny a lil Christmas Gift of that adorable lil Baby with her Star Snowsuit Costume too? PWEEEAAAASE!!!
Santa Claus: Why on earth was this jolly fat man teased to us, just to be taken away? Can’t we get him back for keeps? I mean I do get that Kris Kringle is only supposed to hang around once a year, but I would really like to see him stick around this time in our games.
Chanakuh/Hannakah: However you want to spell it or celebrate it, I think with poor Krusty losing his father recently that now would be a good time to bring a bit MORE of the spirit of Chanakuh into our games. There are so many cool Buildings, Characters, and Decorations that span the Simpsons world that it could almost fill an entire Event.
Snowball Fights: I want an all out Snowball war in our Springfield’s this year with the Holiday. I would love it if we could do something cool like collect Snowballs and have a massive snowball fight to earn our Event Currency. Of course how this will be done is tricky as we have seen a bit of game struggling as of late with all the goodies in our games and that RAM being constantly pushed. But like with the Soccer Event, maybe we can go to a Neighbors and challenge them to a Snowball fight behind our Snow Forts. It may just work.
Gift Giving: Because I know EA likes to involve Neighbors in a lot of Events lately, why not have a bit more fun with it. Let us earn and drop off a “Present” to our Neighbors. Inside those gifts could be random Event Currency, Craft Currency, and a Rare 1-5 Donut Prize even? I think this would be great for all as it will really help Neighbors out with the usual “visits” we need each year to help us along during the Event, and will share in the “Holiday Spirit” of giving to others. Not to mention everyone loves unwrapping gifts, right?
Next up, some things that I have on the top of my mind from a few of the many Simpson Christmas Episodes.
More Character Skins: Last year we got the Nativity Scene from Simpsons Christmas Stories (S17, E9) with a temporary task with the Simpsons in the Manger Scene,
but I wonder if they would bring them back as individual active Skins complete with Tasks for this Season. They could even add in the other Characters from this scene King Herod Burns, Three Wise Men (Hibbert, Skinner, Frink), Smithers and even Blue Haired Lawyer are there,
Innkeeper Moe, Shepherds (Lenny & Carl),
Roman Soldier Quimby, and maybe some NPC Animals from the episode too like the Halo Duck.
Otto driving a Train: During the Episode The Fight Before Christmas (S22, E8), there were some cool things happening with the mini stories told during it. One of those items was Otto driving the North Pole Train a la Polar Express Style. I think it would be cool to get him involved in the Event this way. He could even hijack the Monorails in our town and use them as a “train”. Just sprinkle some lights and decorations on them, or a skin.
In this Episode, there was also a more festive looking Springfield sign, so why not a Festive skin for it too?
Even the Tire Fire got a whole new look, Tire Fire-place.
We also have a Krusty Claus in this one. We have Santa Homer, Santa Ned, so why not Santa Krusty? I just don’t know if I would want Martha Stewart in the game from this episode though. Lol.
Star Wars and more: Now the geek in me would REALLY love to have some Star Wars mixed into our silly lil games. Even if it is just something simple. Just last year we had the Episode I Won’t Be Home For Christmas (S26,E9) where Kumiko and CBG are watching the Star Wars Cosmic Special. (We could even get Kumiko back in the game for those that missed her to introduce them with CBG.)
There was also the Rich Texan being pulled by a Team of Bulls in his car like Santa in his Sleigh, another item that would be interesting in our games. We could also get Burns as the White Queen skin, he can use Martin’s “Elsa Castle” for tasks. Then there is Homer “Olaf”. Lol.
I also loved the “Gingerbread Look” to the houses in this episode opening credits as well as other recent holiday ones (also that everyone is Elves). I like the Christmas lights, but Gingerbread type Building Skins would be awesome. Speaking of Gingerbread, I loved the look of the Family as Gingerbread Cookies that Marge was making. Even Sideshow Gingerbread Bob. I think Gingerbread Skins for Characters would be funny, complete with them walking funny as they try to move their 2 dimensional bodies.
Halloween Christmas: Just to give Alissa an annoyed “I’m shaking my head at you” look towards me, why not have a Halloween Christmas? Just like in White Christmas Blues (S25,E8). I love Halloween and Alissa loves Christmas, so let’s mix up the two. Everyone wants a Santa dressed Skeleton, right? Or a Manger scene with a tarantula for the Baby? It’ll work, right? 😉
It worked for Jack, so why not? 😛
There are some cool things in this episode though like a Santa Hat on Jebediah’s Statue, the Sea Captains Ship House complete with Christmas Decorations,
A Huge Snowball with Wiggum and Lou stuck inside,
WWBJD (What Would Baby Jesus Do),
and Flanders Leftorium Express Kiosk.
On to a quick reminder peek at the lil “Hints” EA dropped into the game with Ned Flanders quick Questline.
Ned: Get decorating, boys! We’re gonna party like it’s 4 to 6 B.C. The Bible’s a little cloudy on the actual date.
Pop Up: Will Homer be able to cope with Ned’s amazing decorating skills? Come back next week to find out!
First up Ned is talking about 4-6 B.C., so this means it is supposed to be things happening just before the lil baby popped out in a Manger? What could that mean?
Homer and Ned in an all out Decorating War? Could this thing turn into a Griswold’s disaster? Or a town filled with Decorations on EVERYTHING?
Now to get y’all in the Christmas Spirit… a lil Simpson’s Song:

That about does it for now. With 26 Seasons of possibilities, the options are endless of what goodies we could see this year. Fireplace Tirefire, maybe. I know Gil isn’t a full character but maybe EA can let him become one this Christmas (since he was in an episode of All seasons, including Christmas).
Maggie? I still think she deserves her own event, maybe Baby New Year event. But in the end I’ll be happy whenever we get her at this point. It would be a Christmas Miricle. 🙂

Hey TSTO experts, any idea why they also start the events about a week into the month? Halloween started a week into the month and ran a week after, Christmas will start a week into the month and probably run a week into January, any idea why they do it like this?
Dear EA Santa, I wanna be able to change my seasons in my town when ever I want. (when not in an event) Season facades!! It can be done! Also, I want to set the Turkey free! A Zoo! And I want Maggie! Why and how does EA turn a def ear to us Sky Fingers and our plee for the arrival of the ever so desired, by far cutest and most adorable tv baby girl, Maggie!?? EA, hear me now! I will start a legal letter writing campaign and you will be bombarded with requests for the formentioned character!! Lol.
If you would be so kind as to start a petition, I’d sign it lol.
Based on the hint sounds like the nativity scene and other biblical skins. Maybe we won’t get Snow but Sand instead. Camels and Pyramids filled with grain (that’s a Ben Carson joke) :p

But the decorating sounds more like the actuality (considering Ned got new lights) Would have been great if Ned decorated his house in a more ancient motif instead of modern lights, because if so it would would have been more probable for the Christmas past, as well having Homer decorate in a Christmas Future (like the Futuristic Simpson’s episodes).
So maybe Homer has to gather lightbulbs and wreaths and tinsel and stockings etc.

I like the snowball fight idea, but i worry about the game slowing down.
How about sending characters caroling?
This sounds a little weird considering the state of affairs these days, but how about delivering and stealing packages off of doorsteps? Too much perhaps? It would probably send the wrong message.
How about sending characters to the various stores in our towns to buy Christmas presents? This would be nice for some of the less used, and overlooked stores. You would have to earn Christmas cash so that each character would have money to spend. The gifts that the characters buy would be given to Sky Finger. In other words: our prizes for the event.
Another person who is not ready. I am enjoying the Heights expansion because there is not timing on it. Just not ready to worry about having to make the deadlines. Christmas is busy enough.
Maggie in her star snowsuit would be pretty sweet! My Chrismas wish is for Reindeer. They’ve had them in the past but that was before I started playing, so Santa, please give us Reindeer and Star Maggie!

You should be asking for this stuff in July so that they have time to see what you/we are posting about it.. then maybe they could help us out? This late in the game now we are at the mercy of what they have already planed.
I think it would be cool of them to have a Poll or a contest to see what we really want.
As for Christmas event. I want it yes and i hope we get more deals on premium characters, but to tell you the truth, Black Friday really wiped me out and to have a mother premium sale this soon.. along with having to buy real gets for everyone else only list ..yea you see where I’m going with this..
I did however have the same idea as you in wanting a “Gifting” option to your neighbors, but maybe on a more permanent basis, maybe be able to “gift” a certain amount per month or every three month, so people don’t go crazy with people making alternate accounts or something.. because I can tatty see people using this and staking their main account with tons of free accounts alternate accounts..
When is Christmas supposed to hit our games, any idea?
Personally I’m not ready, I think it’s two things. One I walked to the store yesterday with no jacket and I was comfortable. Christmas feels like months away. (Not complaining, I Hate snow in the real world). And also the SH update has me super burned out. I want to get this over with before anything else hits.
And Maggie no matter how much I want her I’d rather wait few months and have a whole event dedicated to it, not so much to be part of a larger event. Maybe as a surprise on Christmas Day but otherwise I think she needs at least as much attention as Sideshow Bob.
And possibly a third thing. I just got access to FX Now. Since 2004 I’ve pretty much worked every Sunday night. I haven’t had a VCR or DVR so there are many many many episodes I’ve never seen. In going to be catching up on seasons 18-26. I’m so excited! Woo Hoo! Mmmmmmm… unlimited Simpsons. And I can only use my phone for both the game and to watch. It’s gonna be hard to pick. Never before seen episode or grind on to the next prize.
Personally, I really don’t like snow in the game as it’s right in the middle of Summer for me in Australia when it’s likely to be 35-40 C on Xmas day. I dislike it because it makes all the plants look half-dead, which never happens in even in the middle of Winter as a lot of our plants are evergreens… Autumn is like a mini-spring with lots of flowers blooming with the rains after the dry Summers, and Winter is when all the weeds and Winter grass grow like crazy. So to see Winter as a time of “death” and stagnation is really weird for me. Besides, it makes decorating difficult as the trees are weird colours or dead.
It’s definitely an interesting perspective. For me in Canada, there is absolutely nothing like the crisp smell in the air on a winter day, the smell of the (very much alive) pine trees, the crackling of an outdoor bonfire and a sleigh ride (complete with hot chocolate, of course!), covered in blankets, to go select your tree. Skiing, skating, outdoor hockey games, snowman making, snowball fights, making snow angels, building a snow fort……I love winter!!! Also, without a “real” winter, we would never know the amazingness of that first day the air starts to smell a little earthy, and you watch everything begin to melt, buds emerge on the trees, birds start singing. It’s all the sweeter because it’s so fleeting. Mind you – even in winter, I’d happily be out on the beach raving about how warm it was if I could be in Australia!! (And yes, I do know that not everyone lives near a beach :)) Merry Christmas season to all my fellow tappers, no matter where you are, or how you celebrate! Now EA….bring on freakin’ Christmas already!!!! :)))
Good point about Maggie. I’d like a tease for her “coming soon…” where you click on something and it makes the Maggie Noise.

In my honest opinion, I think that Christmas event might have something do to with the How Grinch Stole Christmas book. If I remember right the background story was the Who’s trying to constantly out do each other, starting with house decorations and that fits into your thoughts on a competition starting with Ned and Homer. But I’ll be honest I can’t remember if there were any episodes that used this particular storyline, been a bit lazy with my Simpson’s watching.
There was an entire “Grumple” theme for Christmas Event 2013. So to see more on that wouldn’t be a surprise. 😉

I’m a broken record here but I really want The Sequel Stop animated, in the spirit of consumerism is it too much to ask EA for a task for SVT to work there, or Bart, Milhouse, CBG, or other superhero event characters to shop there or bullies to shoplift there? Please don’t make it Homer, he has so many skins and tasks I can’t get to them all as it is. (and yet Marge has so few) As long as I’m at it, how about a few more character tasks at the Springfield Gorge? I paid enough donuts for it. Even though everything will be covered with snow soon, we still want pathways to match our residences, sand and dirt patches and roads to blend our varied landmarks and please Sant(E)A- even though none of this is Christmas’ey I want Springfield Falls, cool Brown House and Guinea Pig Rescue Center. Also, I echo, bring on the holiday building skins 😄
I LOVE Maggie in the Starsuit.. I really hope we do get her! And definitely more character/building skins.. I like the idea of snowball fights like the tapball fights… but with just the kids… adults are WAYYYYY to mature to have snowball fights.. lol 😉

I want Maggie have since I started, Alissa has her very own Maggie, so come on EA, this site does so much to improve your game, give the girls Maggie (not to mention all faithful tappers you have been begging for years) Pretty pleassssse.
Think a snowball fight would be great fun, but if it involves neighbors, I’m sure a lot would participate!
Lastly, I know the house with the mouse is very stingy, with all their items, but seriously Disney, you commercialized Star Wars to the Death Star & back, so give our game at least one character!

Was referring to Star Wars, George Lucas signed Star Wars over to them. They have completely commercialized it, movie not even released yet, everywhere you look Star Wars items! Grrrrrrrr, happy George didn’t keep them locked in his safe, but so wished it hadn’t headed in this direction!
Oh, yes, please let your wish come true for gift giving this year. That would be so much fun.

The teaser from last week let me think it will be a Decorating War, with decorations for a lot of building (the same way we had skins for three of them in the Halloween event).
There are still a lot of things to use from the TV show, but I guess EA will use more and more of skins and created stuff (like in SH) because they already have included nearly every major character and place. Just look what they did in previous levels, when the characters went with vehicles instead of buildings.
Anyway, the game might still be fun if we don’t have to play every 30 minutes to earn some currencies.
Well finding it hard waiting for the Christmas event, come on EA please don’t keep us waiting, my favourite event. Not sure about Halloween Christmas, it’s over so will pass, but have to aggree we want Maggie, not sure what you ment by being nice to someone at EA 😉, but hey if it works 😁. Just being watching the last 3 specials again and still love them, watching the others soon. I think turning them into elves is a great idea, the scope for this is endless. Lots more skins for the new buildings and stores please, and the Alian Santa Clause sleigh. You mentioned Star Wars. With the new movie coming out this month, I think that would be a GREAT idea! And let’s not forget Luke Skywalker was actually in one of the earlier episodes. It would be awesome to have him as an in-game character! Disney permitting of course.
Yep. Homer saved Quimby and him and became security for Quimby. A cosplay silly looking Wookiee was in it too 😉

First off i love the picture of the brown bunny, it reminds me of the Nesquik bunny, which happens to be my second favorite bunny right behind Buggs Bunny (Roger rabbit is a rabbit and therefore does not count).
second i agree with the whole maggie thing, ever since they gave alternate tasks for characters that had mostly joint tasks there was a new non maggie 8 hour task for marge, since then speculation has risen.
Finally, im a bit disapointed with the shortness of the starwars column, no your totally right they should have star wars content, however they have a lot to work with, im not sure if anyone remembers Bart Wars?
It was mentioned in the Star Wars insider the June edition of 98, and a VHS of it (it being a series of episodes with star wars references or mentions up to that point) in 99.
The ART ALONE could spawn almost endless content, ranging from a Donut shaped Death Star, to Homer as Darth Vader, Bart as luke, Lisa as Leia, Marge as C-3PO, Maggie as R2-D2 (quite fitting), Barney as Chewbacca and Otto as Han Solo (a bit weird considering lisa as leia)
That is not to mention the appearances in episodes, such as Chewwbaccas’ appearance in “The Springfield Files”, or Mark Hamills appearance in “Mayored to the Mob”, then you have all the Star Wars rides and such in the episode “The man who came to be dinner”.
Long Story short, EA has a lot to work with (i found a site with every reference big or small of Star wars in the simpsons so they have a solid 25 years of references), heres hoping we see some star wars items, at the very least a Krusty in Karbonite deco, or scrap the whole thing and call it Cosmic Wars.
It would be awesome if they did a star wars inspired event since the newest movies coming out! It would also be awesome if they could integrate futurama in there too….
One can hope.. 🙂

There’s a LOT of content they could use. All I’m asking is at least ONE item, as I know the house of mouse can be cutthroat about using its copyrighted material.

Don’t know if the Mouse would allow that especially since the new movie is about to drop. I am thinking they would want major money to license a Simpson’s/Star Wars crossover right now. Also, I think they would want to focus on new movies over the first six, so they might want to wait until after new years before they would do anything SW related, since we are still in lock down infowise right now.
I would love to see the snowball fight, gift giving, gingerbread houses, & definitely a Griswald style decorating war! Loved all the ideas!
I wondered if we might have a storyline of Ned having a crisis of faith since his new house skin seems devoid of any religious iconography.

I am so excited for christmas!! 😁😁 I already bought all the gifts and wrapped them real nicely. Its sad that we still havent had any snow here in Finland ☹️. Usually around this time the snow would be covering up to our ankles… Sigh. Its just rainy and pitch black. Its more like halloween outside right now😤. We dont decorate with lights as extravagantly as in the US either, so jealous😣! I really want the event to hit already!! I cant have snow in real life, atleast give me snow in the game 😞, also next week is full of exams for me so I should be more concentrated on them, but I really want the christmas event to start 😅
We are very behind in Ottawa, Canada too. There was the lightest little bit one morning two weeks ago, but it melted by about 10 am and we haven’t seen a flake since. Our outdoor rinks are still boards on the pavement or grass….a bit hard to fully get into the spirit – but we’re doing our best! I also agree that snow in the game would help my personal Christmas spirit quite a bit!!
Thank you for this, I’m in the mood now and looking forward to the Xmas event. I’d almost forgotten about the Nativity Scene, might put the Simpsons on task there and see if it acts as a way of summoning the event 😀
Completely agree about needing Maggie in her cute snowsuit, fingers crossed it’s her time to join the game.
I’m really hoping I get the chance to get more Xmas lights, as last year was my first Xmas event I was only able to get them for a few houses.
