Hey there Holly Jolly Grinches!
The Season in the USA is getting a bit chilly, lights are strung up all over the place, Christmas Music on all sorts of stations, and we are all patiently awaiting with anticipation just WHAT might be in store for us for this year’s CHRISTMAS EVENT!
Figured I would bounce on by with a few thoughts of my own.
With this being the 4th incarnation of a Christmas Event, is there really a lot left for them to drop into our games? Well of course there is! We have YEARS of episodes and thoughts to choose from all over the span of the Simpsons World to choose from. These are some thoughts and ideas of the things I would like to see hit our games for a Christmas Event.
Maggie in her Star Snowsuit: I WANT MAGGIE! For frakk’s sake who at EA do I have to make nice with for this to happen? I mean COME ON!! I have begged for her since day one, and here we are years later. Can’t you find it in your heart to give Bunny a lil Christmas Gift of that adorable lil Baby with her Star Snowsuit Costume too? PWEEEAAAASE!!!
Santa Claus: Why on earth was this jolly fat man teased to us, just to be taken away? Can’t we get him back for keeps? I mean I do get that Kris Kringle is only supposed to hang around once a year, but I would really like to see him stick around this time in our games.
Chanakuh/Hannakah: However you want to spell it or celebrate it, I think with poor Krusty losing his father recently that now would be a good time to bring a bit MORE of the spirit of Chanakuh into our games. There are so many cool Buildings, Characters, and Decorations that span the Simpsons world that it could almost fill an entire Event.
Snowball Fights: I want an all out Snowball war in our Springfield’s this year with the Holiday. I would love it if we could do something cool like collect Snowballs and have a massive snowball fight to earn our Event Currency. Of course how this will be done is tricky as we have seen a bit of game struggling as of late with all the goodies in our games and that RAM being constantly pushed. But like with the Soccer Event, maybe we can go to a Neighbors and challenge them to a Snowball fight behind our Snow Forts. It may just work.
Gift Giving: Because I know EA likes to involve Neighbors in a lot of Events lately, why not have a bit more fun with it. Let us earn and drop off a “Present” to our Neighbors. Inside those gifts could be random Event Currency, Craft Currency, and a Rare 1-5 Donut Prize even? I think this would be great for all as it will really help Neighbors out with the usual “visits” we need each year to help us along during the Event, and will share in the “Holiday Spirit” of giving to others. Not to mention everyone loves unwrapping gifts, right?
Next up, some things that I have on the top of my mind from a few of the many Simpson Christmas Episodes.
More Character Skins: Last year we got the Nativity Scene from Simpsons Christmas Stories (S17, E9) with a temporary task with the Simpsons in the Manger Scene,
but I wonder if they would bring them back as individual active Skins complete with Tasks for this Season. They could even add in the other Characters from this scene King Herod Burns, Three Wise Men (Hibbert, Skinner, Frink), Smithers and even Blue Haired Lawyer are there,
Innkeeper Moe, Shepherds (Lenny & Carl),
Roman Soldier Quimby, and maybe some NPC Animals from the episode too like the Halo Duck.
Otto driving a Train: During the Episode The Fight Before Christmas (S22, E8), there were some cool things happening with the mini stories told during it. One of those items was Otto driving the North Pole Train a la Polar Express Style. I think it would be cool to get him involved in the Event this way. He could even hijack the Monorails in our town and use them as a “train”. Just sprinkle some lights and decorations on them, or a skin.
In this Episode, there was also a more festive looking Springfield sign, so why not a Festive skin for it too?
Even the Tire Fire got a whole new look, Tire Fire-place.
We also have a Krusty Claus in this one. We have Santa Homer, Santa Ned, so why not Santa Krusty? I just don’t know if I would want Martha Stewart in the game from this episode though. Lol.
Star Wars and more: Now the geek in me would REALLY love to have some Star Wars mixed into our silly lil games. Even if it is just something simple. Just last year we had the Episode I Won’t Be Home For Christmas (S26,E9) where Kumiko and CBG are watching the Star Wars Cosmic Special. (We could even get Kumiko back in the game for those that missed her to introduce them with CBG.)
There was also the Rich Texan being pulled by a Team of Bulls in his car like Santa in his Sleigh, another item that would be interesting in our games. We could also get Burns as the White Queen skin, he can use Martin’s “Elsa Castle” for tasks. Then there is Homer “Olaf”. Lol.
I also loved the “Gingerbread Look” to the houses in this episode opening credits as well as other recent holiday ones (also that everyone is Elves). I like the Christmas lights, but Gingerbread type Building Skins would be awesome. Speaking of Gingerbread, I loved the look of the Family as Gingerbread Cookies that Marge was making. Even Sideshow Gingerbread Bob. I think Gingerbread Skins for Characters would be funny, complete with them walking funny as they try to move their 2 dimensional bodies.
Halloween Christmas: Just to give Alissa an annoyed “I’m shaking my head at you” look towards me, why not have a Halloween Christmas? Just like in White Christmas Blues (S25,E8). I love Halloween and Alissa loves Christmas, so let’s mix up the two. Everyone wants a Santa dressed Skeleton, right? Or a Manger scene with a tarantula for the Baby? It’ll work, right? 😉
It worked for Jack, so why not? 😛
There are some cool things in this episode though like a Santa Hat on Jebediah’s Statue, the Sea Captains Ship House complete with Christmas Decorations,
A Huge Snowball with Wiggum and Lou stuck inside,
WWBJD (What Would Baby Jesus Do),
and Flanders Leftorium Express Kiosk.
On to a quick reminder peek at the lil “Hints” EA dropped into the game with Ned Flanders quick Questline.
Ned: Get decorating, boys! We’re gonna party like it’s 4 to 6 B.C. The Bible’s a little cloudy on the actual date.
Pop Up: Will Homer be able to cope with Ned’s amazing decorating skills? Come back next week to find out!
First up Ned is talking about 4-6 B.C., so this means it is supposed to be things happening just before the lil baby popped out in a Manger? What could that mean?
Homer and Ned in an all out Decorating War? Could this thing turn into a Griswold’s disaster? Or a town filled with Decorations on EVERYTHING?
Now to get y’all in the Christmas Spirit… a lil Simpson’s Song:

That about does it for now. With 26 Seasons of possibilities, the options are endless of what goodies we could see this year. By the way – great suggestions! I really don’t understand why EA hasn’t given us Maggie yet. And I was disappointed last year when Santa left. Maybe we’ll get to keep him this year.

As a side note, I still think it should be a Futurama Xmas. Would pay a stupid amount of donuts just to have Bender in my Springfield (oops, maybe I really shouldn’t have said that 🍩🍩🍩🍩🍩)

Futureama is getting it’s own game so it’s highly unlikely. Besides though I Love the Simpsons and like Futureama I really would hate to see the two universes collide
They sure are taking their time releasing the Futurama game. They made the announcement back in July.

I hope theres not too much crap to built this time round. I know we all love building stuff but I think they went a bit too far last time with the super hero rubbish.
I’d also like to see a way of purchasing more monorail track after the ‘so-laggy-its-almost-unplayable’ event finished. The game kept crashing and now I’m left with a monorail track that leads nowhere.
Not very impressed EA.
You can get more monorail track pieces from the rail yard each week.
Are you not earning rail pieces at the railroad yard?
Why not make more or were you not able to get the last piece that allows you to create more tracks? If that is the case hopefully EA brings it back as a donut purchase sometime.

If you go to the neighbor forums people post their origin usernames so you can add them. It’s an easy way to get 100 friends fast!
I added myself to the no vandalism neighbor request thread. And sent neighbor requests to the people on it and got over 50 friends. I’m hoping they do presents this year. I’ve always only had 10 or so neighbor’s.Also my bonuses for neighor actions has filled up so quick.
I wish christmas event would hurry and get here!!!
Strange thing on my Christmas Event Wishlist: a good splash screen. The THOH one was an absolute mess.
I think it’s funny how many people on this site are obsessed with the idea of getting Maggie… it would be cool, and yes, she is a member of the Simpson’s family, but let’s face it, she really does not play a big role in very many episodes. Unlike Family Guy, they keep her as a baby who can’t talk and doesn’t really do much that’s important to the story-lines.
I also think it’s funny that so many people complain about Springfield Heights. It’s NOT an event. It’s not timed, so it’s only a Grind if you want it to be a grind. You could log into the game once a day, and slowly but surely get everything unlocked eventually. Or you can just ignore it all together. For those of us who are bored or stuck in line at the DMV or something, it’s kind of nice being able to kill as much time as needed.

We have got a 30s quest for Ned to decorate his house, and we got a façade for the Flanders House “Tastily Festive Flanders House”, and after the task, we got a message that Homer would want to defeat Ned in decorating the house next week.
I think that Christmas update would come next week.
Yeah that was mid last week, it came with the SH round 2 update. It said to see what would happen next week.
I’m 95.24723% sure it will drop overnight for my time (GMT+11).
I’m going to say with mild confidence that it won’t drop for another 18-24 hrs, I just woke up and no update. 😡😡😡😡

Nice Christmas wishlist. Especially the snowball fights and gift giving. But it’d be even cooler if we could give gifts year long, as mystery boxes even.
There’s only one thing I’ve really been hoping ea would add though: the ability to select more than one object or whole areas of your town to move or store in build mode.
Please ea D: we’ve been such good kiddos all year long.

Considering that there have only been two cats named Snowball on the show, and one of them died, wouldn’t a Snowball fight be kinda boring?

Maggie Simpson would be nice (I agree, its been 3-4 years & Maggie should’ve been a separate Freemiun Character by now) ….
No more NPC’s (seriously, they’re a waste of RAM), I stored all of mine & my Springfield loads quickly now ….
I’d say 70% of my Springfield Buildings have Christmas Decorations (would be nice to apply this to the other 30% that are new Buildings acquired over time) ….
I’ve got an excess of Christmas Decorations (I don’t need any more) but I have that Krustyland is still being neglected (need a new Freemium Attraction / Ride AND give more Springfield Characters tasks in Krustyland) ….
Whatever occurs for Christmas / Hannukah \ Kwanzaa / N.Y.E. 2015? Don’t blow it EA (you kinda blew the last two Events this year) ….

I loved that area when it was introduced, and my Valentine’s Day tunnel of love ride is one of my faves….but no new content has made it stale very quickly 🙁

Unless I have been playing in my sleep, something odd is going on. I see everyone on 24 hour tasks yesterday and come back today to find about half of my buildings with their Christmas decorations on…. Wondering if I’m losing my mind or?? Lol.

If you have the light plunger from a past xmas, can’t remeber which year! Then neighbours can push it when they visit you and turn your lights on or off!
I don’t know if anyone else noticed this (it’s been covered elsewhere I’m sure, since y’all are on top of it), but Marge now has a new 8-hour task that is NOT walking Maggie. I would almost bet money that this means we’ll be getting Maggie as a playable character soon!
That was done quite a while ago.
I really only hope for two things. That it’s fun and there are no lagging or other issues with the game. These two often go hand in hand. 👐🙌👏
The Internet always decides to die on me when big events start. Tapped Out usually works fine for me, but Time Warner’s on again off again zaniness always takes center stage during big events. Like clockwork, really. lol
FYI Bunny, 4 to 6 BC isn’t before Jesus was born; scholars place his birth sometime between those years based on celestial events in the biblical story. A little odd, but BC isn’t really “before Christ” in Ned’s context.

I suppose I am the only one, but…. I would like to see it hit on Wednesday. I’d like to get at least one day under my belt of monorail building. I’m pretty sure the Christmas event will use the same characters (again) that I need for monorail….
I’d prefer Wednesday as well for two reasons. The first as you said to allow for a leg up with Monorail. It seems like during events, I’m not able to get my 5 donuts until Saturday, and while that still leaves a lot of cushion, I really feel like I’m quite behind compared to getting it done and over by Thursday. Secondly, I started new work hours this week and now get Friday’s off, so every week is a long weekend. However, I now work 8am to 7pm on Tuesday’s and Thursday’s, where as I’m off at 3pm on Mondays and Wednesdays. Both of these make Wednesday a better drop date for me personally.
I think it will be tomorrow, but don’t worry about sending characters on tasks and then needing them……… you know which characters you will need ……….and the longest you’ll have to wait is eight minutes……. (while they make yoga mats)
