Now I know many of you are trying to decide if this ticket is worth YOUR donuts, but don’t sweat it! We’re here to help you decide what’s worth the donuts and what you might want to hold off on.
Wondering if the Winter Festival Ticket is right for you? Well before you hit that confirm button let’s break down the pros and cons of becoming Festival Ticket Holder in YOUR Springfield!

Donut Price: 90 Donuts
What Does it Do?: So, basically this ticket helps you earn MORE game currency when tapping Merrymakers in your neighbors towns. With out the ticket you’ll earn 1 prize currency per Merrymaker tapped in a neighbor’s town. With the ticket you’ll earn 2 prize currency per Merrymaker tapped in a neighbor’s town.
So basically this will double the amount of prize currency you get from visiting friends. Remember this is ONLY with Merrymaker taps in neighbors towns. The Naughty/Nice presents will not be impacted by this.
This does NOT impact the amount you earn when tapping in your own town.
Pro
-Earns double game currency when tapping Merrymakers in your neighbors towns.
Cons
-EXPENSIVE…
-Not an actual item so once the event is over, it’s gone.

Before you purchase it I would say take a look at how often you can get into TSTO to tap during this event. If you’re a diligent tapper this is something that really isn’t necessary since it’s pretty easy to earn currency throughout the event. However, if you’re someone who won’t be able to get into your town frequently during the event this might be something you want to consider getting. This can really give you a boost.
Of course, don’t buy it if neighbor visits are difficult for you to make on a daily basis, since that’s the only place it will help you.

Honestly, this is one you may want to pass on. 90 d0nuts is pricey for something that won’t be tangible in your Springfield once the event ends. Plus you can earn currency fairly quickly if you tap frequently. So if you’re a diligent tapper, save your donuts and pass on this one.
Of course in the end it’s your decision, we can only tell you what we would/wouldn’t do, and this is something I’ll be passing on for this event. Whatever you decide, just remember this is one item for the event that’s better the earlier you purchase it. So if you’re on the fence, I’d say try to make your final decision by this weekend…this way you can get the most benefit over the rest of the event!

I usually buy these tickets only later to have the buyers remorse because they cap how many of the special event currency you can collect in one day from your friends anyway.
Remove the cap and these would be really worth it 😀

I’ll add you but I notice that people with names that begin with A-E tend to get the most presents. The reason is because they show up as the first houses when you go to visit your friends and so I think people tend to drop off their presents at the first players they visit. My name begins with S and so far I’ve only gotten a few presents, meanwhile the friends that have names that start with A-E are dominating.
Steven, I feel it too. I will rotate my neighbors when dropping off gifts. During other events, I will start from the end of my friend list and work my way to the a’s and visa-versa. I play several times during the day, everyday.
They need to allow players to scroll left on the initial friends screen, before other Springfield. Most players give up around G or H, especially when it’s so slow.
You can go “left” from Other Springfield to the last neighbor in the alphabet if you use the arrows in the upper left inside people’s towns, instead of going out to the neighbor screen each time to get to the next neighbor. (Using those left-right arrows is a faster way to travel, too.)

Since this Xmas event rolled out up until today, I’ve had a total of 3 presents dropped on me & I switch to view mode with buildings cleared so I can look for hiding presents. Boy does it suck having character name starting with “P”. Totally annoying.
I also look for an open clearing on my neighbours towns to drop presents so it’s an easy find. Might have to add u guys as friends so the neglected get visits 😰

Does ANYBODY else here have problems downloading the xmas 2015 update at all? My device (Android LG-H345, version 5.1.1, in case anyone here knows that kind of tech stuff) is up to date, but when I try to update from the Google Play store, it says my device is incompatible. But when I go directly to the app and it redirects me to google play on the web browser (as opposed to the actual app), it says it is. Trouble is, it can’t download from the browser.
Any help would be appreciated, because I love this game and I do NOT want to have to buy a new device just for a single app.
Never mind, all I needed to do was reinstall the Google Play app. Anyway, I guess the silver lining is that I found this website and will most likely be browsing it more.

Is anyone else’s b game being used to drop nice presents on the a game, so they can respond with naughty and bag a few currency?
It’s a time for giving (maybe even forgiving) but no soup for them? Heh….
Those items (Winter Festival Ticket) and ones like it are basically never justified at the expensive donut cost.
My personal philosophy on the visitor/present dropping scenario is as follows : It’s Xmas, a time for giving (Nice) not receiving (Greed) so whilst I choose the “Nice” option for dropping & collecting, I’m making a note of those who are not returning the same courtesy. Which means your village is boycotted for the dropping of presents. Your decision to choose “Naughty” means – No soup for you NEXT!!

Has anyone else noticed a dark circle floating around your town?
It is not black, just a little darker than the area around it. It kind of reminds me of past events were you had to tap on the randomly floating objects on the screen…only the object is missing.
If not, I may have to go get myself some tin foil for my new hat.
Yes, noticed. Maybe what you say is right. They could have used a template from a past event to make this year’s. The code for this old mechanic could be glitching about.
I think Ray Patterson casts a slight circular shadow when he’s doing at least one of his outdoor tasks…just been noticing that recently…could that be it?
It’s a visual glitch, like when buildings/decorations are replaced with stills of characters on tasks or whole (or parts of) buildings or broken pixelated images. Go to the move mode and hide buildings or decos as needed to clear it up.

To all tappers who are worried that they will not reach the act quotas, here are 3 main tips:
1. Complete the main quest line. Don’t try to outsmart the game like so many of you did with the toh event.
2. Visit max numbers of friends everyday. Remember to clean out your friend list of those who stopped playing.
3. Send MORE than the necessary number of people for the Best Snowman ever and future quest like that.
Like the real holidays, Xmas only comes once a year so enjoy. Don’t stress, you might be ahead of schedule. We tend to think we are behind even when it is the opposite.

Now, to attempt to tackle your question (which is an interesting one). Is it worth the time just for a few more hats? Maybe not.
Normally, the Snowman building task could take about 2.5 days (figures do not account for sleep), earning approximately 320 hats (not counting task completion bonuses). Using these proposed techniques would take 5 days and earn 500 to 700 or more hats (wild figures) depending on how many characters you have and whether they’re premium.
Act 1 is about 10 days long. If this second building structure (sorry, I’m attempting to be as spoiler free as possible, for myself) works in a similar fashion and is also made to take 5 days, that’s Act 1’s 10 days used up right there.
Since hats can also be gained from completing tasks (each level of the snowman seems to reward over 1000) and tapping Merry Makers (about 150 hats every four hours), there may not be much need to worry about a few hundred more.
Personally, I’m doing it because I don’t mind taking it a little slow (since I tend to rush through events too quick). When it looks like I need to speed up, I’ll simply finish a round in one go instead of two.
Remember that hats will not carry over to Act 2. This would be a great technique for earning crafting currency. For hats, I’m not sure I can call it overly useful.
Maybe I’m wrong. Another person might tell me that. I hope so.

My fault for not being more clear. Those are not my sentences, I was hoping for some additional information on the return on investment of hats to completion time. I would like to know why it’s better to gain more hats than finish the snowman levels more quickly. A link to the post you’re referring to would have been more helpful than your reply.

Yeah, I think so. Consice and simple communication reaches more people than long and complicated ones do.
Actually your way means the task takes double the time with only a maximum increase of x1.~~ hats. The faster the task is completed the better. As well as the fact there is bonuts once you have obtained all the act prizes.
There’s nothing with a 1.x times increase. That’s how premium characters earn, for instance. It can get close to 2x depending. But bonuts is an important factor. It changes everything.
Exactly right! It’s just a matter of opinion. Obviously if for some reason you fall in love with say the fancy igloo, you are going to want to save up crafting resources. As for me, I don’t spend actual money so I prefer to get donuts whenever I can.

I recently had an in-game update, and now all my buildings and decorations are overlapping each other. Like the Monorail track looks like it’s in the mountains… Any help?
I’ll pass on this as neighbor visits are taking forever. 1-2 minutes between towns makes for a long session of tapping. My visits will be down because of this, so it won’t be worth the 90 donuts.
On a side note, I can see the comments right away now!
It’s always the same thing with these items: People buy them and then go into a rage when they discover that it’s still only good for the first 90 actions of the day.

Hi guys. Any advice on which crafting prizes are the best? Do any of them seem to yield anything especially important (like wailing walls)? I’m not in a rush to spend my currency, but since crafting a prize is a weekly challenge, I figured I’d try to craft something useful.

Please do so with alacrity. We appreciate your diligence and efforts. I need to craft a prize in 2 1/2 days to finish the “Five Task” event. I’m certain I will have enough resources to craft any of the prizes, but it would be nice to better understand exactly what the difference is between the Chalet, Igloo and the Stand is.
(Sorry, I don’t remember the exact names). And I have all the Bells I want from last year, and last year I purchased all the Festive Light Posts I want.

The chalet earns money (not event currency) whereas the other two are just decorations.
I’m really close to getting the chalet, but I actually want the igloo. I’m sure I’ll get both.

For those on the fence – I started roughly after the Stonecutter event. My first major event was Halloween that year, and I bought whatever it was that let you collect more from friends (I think it was the alien hunting license?). And I believe it was also priced at 90 donuts. I thought it would really help out, but I ended up realizing I didn’t need it.
Trust me – as Alissa notes, unless you can’t get on daily, this isn’t worth the price. You’ll be fine with collecting items without this thing.
If it were cheaper, it might be ok…but I’m thinking around 10-15 donuts. For 90 donuts on an item that can’t even be used as a decoration…PASS!

Just level up as you can. I would think so but not 100% sure, as more level up items will be added
My game has not loaded since yesterday….says I’m logged in with correct level 57 and when I tap to continue it starts a new game from the beginning. I have reset, logged in\out etc. Is it just me? For once I started the Christmas event on time and felt I was making progress and now this happens so I’m behind again!

I bought it because it was advertised as helping with obtaining hats, but he only gets 1 measly hat for a one-hour task and 6 hats for a 4-hour task. Deeply regretting the purchase.
I don’t usually buy items only to help with events. I buy it if I like it, and if it helps with the event, great. They usually don’t help enough for it to be the only reason to buy something. I did buy White Witch Burns because I thought it was funny . 🙂
I always buy these but this time I’m passing. I already have the two buildings that pay out very generously on event currency. I almost got it thinking bonuts but then realized 90 isn’t worth a handful. For the first time in years I’m not buying something.
On a side note, loving this event. After the monstrosity of a Halloween event, worst event ever. We got an amazing Thanksgiving minievent that somehow managed to pack more entertainment into far less time. Then the dreaded Springfield Heights update, thank the lord I’m done with that now let it rest in peace in a grave next to Krustyland. But so far the winter event is really better than expected. Last year was good but so far this is better.

I know, but last time I regretted it. If those came with a decoration then definitely. But I play enough, I started this event a day late since I was seriously burned out from SH yet here I am a day ahead of Bunny’s calendar. Not gonna sweat it. Now I need my opera house. I’m on a weird sleep schedule where I sleep all day and I only contact EA if I know I can get Texas on the phone.

So this is why it keeps on saying I haven’t gotten an ‘update’? I can’t visit Springfield neighbors anymore, just 2 or 3, but they can visit me.
