So…here is your Open Thread. No new episode of the Simpsons tonight, but Christmas Act 2 hit our games yesterday. What are your thoughts on Act 2? Thoughts on the prizes?

Ok TSTO gurus – for the last week or so I can’t buy a Golden Scratch-R. I get a message saying it’s because I either have not accepted Google terms of service, I don’t have a Google Play account, or in-game purchases are not available in my country. The first time I saw it, I updated the Play Store and accepted new terms of service, but no luck. I do have a Google Play account – and I can see my purchase history of several Golden Scratch-Rs. In the U.S. so it’s definitely not that I’m in a country where I can’t make purchases.
Any suggestions? I am a strictly freemium player, but anytime my Google Opinion Rewards balance gets to over $1, I try my luck to get some extra donuts. Thanks in advance!
I keep losing presents, they hide behind things and are so so tiny!
So just did some maths. I need 532 more bows to get everything I want, or 40 a day for the rest of the event, and 2302 more baubles…or 177 a day for the rest of the event. The bows I’m not worried about. But the baubles are a little worriesome. I also have to keep in mind the rewards we’ll probably be getting from daily challenges though. That tree lot issue is really worrisome too though..
Hi everyone I just got my new challenges for the week, X-mas Trees Slightly Irregular. I have already crafted this item and placed it in my SF and you can only have 1, but it’s not coming off my challenges, does anyone know what to do???
I have the same issue. I am looking for an answer also.
Curious to know if anyone else is giving up on the rail yard during this event. I managed to hit it last week, but I had a small head start. So far this week, I’m still a few thousand from getting 3 rails. I just keep having to use characters for Christmas tasks. Instead of banging my head over 5 donuts, I think I’m going to take a break.
I copmleted the rail yard on Saturday morning (which is only slightly later than usual), but I also think I put too much effort into that at the expense of the event to where I only managed to finish Act 1 by too close a call for my comfort. This week I’ll treat it as more secondary and not worry about getting it done so quickly (although I always do love the blissful time between when it’s done for the week and the following Tuesday). Fortunately, I have all three of my recycling centers pre-stocked about as full as possible, so I’m noping that will give me a nice head start!
I completed the railyard on Thursday this week. It was a first. But i had nothing else to do. I think im gonna keep working on it..
Good idea. But, no, I finished it with 3 or 4 days extra. That’s the earliest I’ve ever finished.
Welp, they messed up. Weekly Challenges 1 can’t be completed if you already had X-mas Trees Slightly Irregular crafted. Storing and replacing the item doesn’t trigger completion.
The “Mistletoe” Vs. “Holly” debate. I fully agree with Sandra. As a compromise I’ll call them (M)holly.
I couldn’t help but think of Marge losing her hair in the Sherry Bobbens episode W(h)EN I heard that a celebrity endorsed hair care product “Allegedly” (BHL lawyer wanted me to say that) is causing people to lose their hair.
My TSTO Christmas wish (besides free characters and donuts) is that Santa arrive giving everyone who’ve been NICE extra bows. (About the number of bows the Naughty players have been receiving but just a few extra) 😉 and maybe coal that covers the Naughty players land until they send multiple nice gifts to be taken off the naughty list (maybe that’s a job for Krampus) -or something (maybe just the NICE thing and leave out the naughty vengeance it is the Holidays after all :p
Back to the (M)holly comment, it has come to my attention that it may sound like a drug reference, that was not my attention.
But yes as Sandra pointed out EA has a habit of misnaming currency. So when Act 3 hits, will we be collecting “Ribbons” (instead of Blue bows) or “Teethers” (instead of Pacifiers/Binkies/Dummies)?

I have my Springfield High School right next to my Springfield Penitentiary for the same reason.
I used to have my elementary school next door. It had barbed wire fencing while the prison had nothing extra (some people enclose it in another fence). The joke was….which was the real prison? 😉
…But I’d like some coal “debris” for my town. Do I need to be naughtier to get it? How many people do I have to take down with me for this precious coal to arrive in my town? (Once the event is over, I’m turning them into diamonds! Muahahah!)
The first new weekly challenge is to craft and place the irregular trees, you can only have one which i had done prior to the task unlocking so the task won’t clear as done 🙁

I’m wondering if I should go somewhere good to see it. Somewhere with a good screen and whatever else makes this the best experience. Local screens here….might be star in at a spec of dust or a screen tear the whole time.

So the new daily challenge isn’t working for. Cause I had crafted theX-mas Trees Slightly irregular yesterday and the daily task today wants me to craft and place it but it’s unique. storing and placing the item doesn’t work. what do I do. I don’t want to miss out on bonuts
Could you guys help me out with something? About a month or so ago I got a classmate of mine into playing TSTO. He accidently vandalised some of my buildings. I cleaned them before I saw the righteousness rating drop. But a day later my righteousness rating is but a half star and it’s been like that for a month now. =( is my game bugged?

Buy and place a whole bunch of training walls…that should clear up your Rightousness problem and likely prevent any future ones.
The easiest way to earn it back is to wait for other friends to vandalise your buildings and then clear the graffiti to earn back points. Unfortunately, during the winter event that isn’t too likely to happen.
This may not just be your friend. Before the Halloween event my righteousness rating was 5 stars. The event started and I dropped to 1/2 star. Once the event was over, back to 5 stars. Christmas event starts and I am back to 1/2 again. I visit my neighbors and do not vandalize. I don’t get it.

New task for the week is to craft the Slightly Irregular Trees, which I had done previously (ta for the suggestion guys!), but now that the task is up, it won’t clear and you can’t build a second one.
I’ve tried all the usual stuff, stpre and replace, try visiting KL and neighbourinos, no luck. Anyone else stuck?
Ive already got the irregular Xmas tree lot but now it asks me to craft it again, i cant do this so the job wont clear,
anyone else have this problem
I have now got no work until 1st Jan. Very strange feeling to have that, usually I work right up to Christmas Eve and then go back a couple of days later. So prime tapping time available! Might even be able to sort out my town so it is less of a mess than it currently is.
School is over for the term, I managed to survive what is traditionally a very difficult term for a trainee teacher. Not quite sure how but I did. Definitely in need of a rest though.
Somehow I managed to complete the 1st act in between lesson planning and all the rest of the teaching stuff I did. Even crafted all of the craft able prizes, which I’m glad I did considering they disappeared at the start of act 2.
I know how difficult and exhausting schoolteaching can be…enjoy your well-deserved rest! 🙂

Are the pens for moves exotic petting zoo worth the donuts and what animals or characters use/live in them
If you are amused by how the current petting zoo animals are modified, then you would most likely enjoy them- I advise you look through your Neighbors Springfields to see them for yourself first.
Can’t decide to get Krusty daughter or duff man since I have enough for him…(unless Krusty daughter is a limited time character and doesn’t come back) or wait for what’s coming next…kind of want to wait if the bear from splash screen comes to store….or the dude that comes with the secret hideout in the purple mountain… (Sorry don’t know the names by memory lol…)

Though I can’t see it on my own device (they moved Skyfinger over it) on the image of someone’s (load/splash) Screen posted multiple times on this sight, including the Thread: Turbo Tapp’n Act 2 just below this threads as the bear visable. Not released in the game yet (as far as I can see), guessing going to appear in Act 3.
The bear cave is a decoration.
I’m just asking and I have played 100 percent nice.But why are people getting so off the chain over people leaving naughty presents? A few of my neighbors have and I simply have not sent them any but with only 5 a day to give..looking at you ea…I figure nice they sent me any, can’t assume others were going to send any odds are way against it. I wish was gave us more would be kinda fun to occasionally pick naughty. Just IMO.
I know exactly what you mean. I am glad I’m not the only one confused by the frustration. It’s like…just don’t give them presents? The game has the meter so that you can see who is nice. I only drop in nice towns. If someone naughty drops in my town, I pick nice and that’s it. At least I get an extra bow. End of story. They don’t get gifts cos they are naughty and that’s all there is to it. In fact, I notice that everyone on my friends list who is mostly naughty, is at the bottom of the rankings with the number of bows they have. So them being greedy is only hurting them. I literally cannot think of one reason that would drive me to delete over them being naughty with the presents. Maybe I’m missing something? As they always say here. It’s a silly little game. It’s not that serious. And if it is, maybe take a break.
I only deleted one person, he was very naughty and hiding gifts lol I only minded because I couldn’t find the presents and my b game couldn’t drop me more. Otherwise naughty doesn’t bother me at all.
Most likely your neighbor aimed in one place and the game dropped them elsewhere, mine does and lots of comments about this happening to others. Of course I like to assume no-one would hide them. I could be wrong.

You can tell when they have done it on purpose. Such as, lots of clear areas to drop and it is over in the farthest corner in the forest.
I celebrating early! I’ve finally managed to bank $10mil in my Springfield! Not a huge milestone I know, but it’s a goal I’ve had for awhile. I’m so quick to spend spend spend & never let my bank build for the really expensive buildings. Now to stay disciplined & bank another $5mil before going land buying crazy!

Pretty soon you’ll have one hundred billion dollars! Well maybe not soon…or ever. That’s a lot of zero00000000s. But it adds up over time. For awhile I thought I’d never have any money in the bank but now I’ve got close to $20mil just waiting for whatever big expenditures EA might come up with next. 💵

Aside from just the fun of it, sometimes this game is halarious. Moe’s Petting zoo had me howling with laughter yesterday. The little sheep dragon is adorable. The four pigeons tied together! Ha. The whole thing is really funny and one of my favorite TSTO things to date.
I bought two of the extra pens, land octopus ( lol ) and the mammoth. Love them. Still on the fence about the bird looking thing. I’ll wait until I can see it in action in someone else’s town.
This has been a great event. Really loving all of the great prizes. Love the burger truck and giant snowman.

I’m having the same problem as so e others with irregular trees and daily task.
Also having strange glitch where dropping presents in one friend’s town doesn’t come up as an option. No present icon on the upper right but works okay in other towns. They don’t have untapped presents either, very strange.
Could be wrong, but to me I would think that means the player is inactive and hasn’t updated their system yet. May want to check their last play date in the list.
That person has not started this event.
The new task of crafting slightly irregular trees and I have already done this and the game will not recognize this and I can’t craft another because it says I have already one of these. How can I move on from this to the next task?

I am so furious with EA! First the misinformation about the prizes disappearing! Now I had to reinstall the game and EA is saying my device is not compatable with this version! I have tried to install on 3 devices now… ALL give that same error!
Anyone know of how to bypass this? I’m desperate!
I just spent 2 hours talking to EA’s “support” people (two different agents (I’ll not name them here as it may be against site rules and I don’t want to get in trouble). One of them could not understand that no matter what device I use (and what internet connection -i tried at the grocery store and a restaurant as well as home-) I keep getting the same error on the google play store stating “Your device isn’t compatible with this version”… this is with the same device I have been using for ~1 year now, as well as two brand new ones I bought today trying to get this fixed!
I’ve just lost out on the x-mas event. There will be no way for me to keep up now… considering quitting 🙁
If you’re grasping at straws, I wonder if an older version might install on your system, and then you could install a newer update over that. What system are you on? iOS?
I’m on android. I’ve now tried 3 different devices. All I get is that error and when I check the web version I see a dropdown explaining the “incompatibility” is due to “no carrier”… these are tablets!
Spent 1 more hour today with no luck…EA support is rotten
I’ve never had this problem. A guess for something to try would be to clear the cache of the play store app. If you don’t know how to do that try a Google search.

Mondays daily task, craft and place Xmas tree slightly irregular, I’ve already done this and it won’t let me create another, and wont complete the task…. Any ideas?

Have you tried storing and placing it again? Maybe that’ll trigger it…
I have the same problem. I tried storing it in inventory, then pressing the daily task button to activate the task – which takes me to the item (which is already crafted) and then taking it out of inventory and placing it, but still no luck.
Hopefully a patch will come or when the Day 2 task will trigger it….
Just my theory on why a lot of people didn’t get the last prize of act 1and didn’t get many bonus rounds of donuts was probably because we didn’t have 2 full weeks for the first act. Usually for the past few events I remember us having at least 2 weeks per act and this time it was shorter.
Indeed. I think one clue that they gyped us is that we had two daily challenges on the first day. Another is that I only finished 2 days early instead of my usual 3 days.
