We’ve got ourselves a little episode tie-in on our hands…
This is based off of this Sunday’s episode The Marge-ian Chronicles. Back with more details in a bit…
Just a heads up I’m having a lot of issues with my computer at work right now.
(which is a big reason why it’s taking me so long to moderate comments today) So I’m going to try and get you the basic info and I’ll update with more specifics and photos when I get home and can pull the files.
The tie-in will kick off with some dialogue from Paul and Barry, the two characters to be featured on Sunday’s show.
Space is Hot Right Now Pt. 1
-Just look at Springfield. A few years ago, there was nothing here but acres of healthy green grass. It was just your typical post-nuclear-catastrophe wasteland. Lush greenery as far as the eye could see. And now, it’s a bustling town once again.
-Honestly, I’m unimpressed.
-Seriously? Look at all the houses, and decorations, and people…
-I don’t see too many premium items…
-Well, no. The owner of this town really SHOULD sink more cash into the project. It’s money so well spent.
-If you let two entrepreneurial guys like us loose in here, it’d be RIDICULOUS how much we’d get done.
-What are you proposing?
-I don’t know. We need a project. What are kids excited about today?
-I read somewhere that they like soccer, and the color green. And positivity. They dislike rudeness and shades of green they feel are too light or too dark.
-Hmm. Not much to go on. We need to do a little market research. Let’s hire some kids to be our ears.

The Mars Colony comes with a questline and is upgradable…we’ll cover more about it in the Should I buy post…
The Yellow Submersible Retrieves Waterfront Tiles. You do this by sending it to “Dive for Booty”. Takes 24hrs. When it’s “diving” it’ll disappear from the screen and go under the water. It’ll give you free Pier tiles and/or Boardwalk Tiles if you haven’t maxed them out yet. Like the Rocket it won’t always return with a prize. We’ll cover more in the Should I Buy post…
Exploration Inc. is a free building you’ll unlock once you’ve finished part 2 of the Space is Hot Right Now questline…
it takes 24hrs to build (don’t mind my incredibly messy B game..)
And those are the basics. I’ll update more on this post when I get home…including the walkthrough…

Is there not going to be a st. Patrick’s day event this year?
It’s always been a mini event..and it’s only March 10th. We’ll probably see it next Tuesday, that’s my guess anyway.

When I read the dialogue in this post the several mentions of the colour green I took to be a hint that it’s coming. Hope they have something apart from the pub for people who’ve been playing for a few years.
I saw that the end of the quest dialogue for the submersible is “The submersible 24 hours job to Dive for Booty has a chance to find a Squidport or Ornate Pier tile, even if you can’t build anymore!”…. I hope that’s true! That alone would make it worth it!
If the sub pays off like the rocket it will be a complete waste of donuts.
Yea it’s not every payout…i ran it 4 times got 1 tile.
Ugh, I was tempted by the sub and even more so after reading what it does… but making it like the rocket is a deal-breaker. I really hate the rocket – I’ve got 1 Kang topiary out of it, and since then it’s only given me signs, debris, or it just refuses to take off…. it’s very frustrating!
15 attempts…i got 1 boardwalk tile and 3 pier tiles. 11 times it came back empty.
Hahaha. Four days for one tile is worse than the 3½ days for the last batch of tiles. That’s ridiculous. Only sorta worth it if you’re maxed out and that’s the only way to get more.
Riddle me this, we just got the submarine introduced today, takes 24 hours to regen, yet you ran it 4 times….is Alissa wasting donuts to speed up the task? 😀
Alissa puts between $500-$700 a month (depending on what’s going on in the game) into her B game to speed up things for you guys. I never speed up tasks in my main game, but in my B game I have to otherwise I wouldn’t be able to get you guys info. That’s why our how to posts are so detailed…

Which is much appreciated as always, but dang 500-700 a month? I thought I was putting alot into the game. Was just trying to set up for a “oh sure, typical parent, do as we say not as we do” joke type comment but it backfired lol
That’s the average. It can be more if it’s a big event…Terwilligers was very expensive. And don’t even get me stared on how much it cost to rush SH.
Wow, color me amazed…. can’t see ever spending that much in one month, 100 is bad enough for me
lol in my personal game i think i spend maybe $100 every 6 months…maybe every 4 months.
But now you know my i cringe whenever someone tells me they use an ad blocker. Or that we make a ton of money from the site..it literally all goes back into our games. That’s just what we spend on my game…doesn’t include Bunny or Wookiee’s.
To support you, I’ve switched off my ad blocker for your site. Normally I HATE ADS.

lol it depends on what we’re doing. We all like to know what’s going on and how to play so we can answer any and all questions. While I write the majority of how to posts, they still know what’s going on to help answer your questions.

In order for this site to generate income from ads is it sufficient that the ad just appears or does it only pay if clicked on?
If an ad only pays if clicked on I will happily use some of my bandwidth to click through to them if that would help fund this site?

I know i have commented before that EA should at the very least sponsor your donuts but i am very serious about it!
I really don’t think EA realise that a major reason I (& maybe others) enjoy this game so much is the community you, Bunny and Wookiee have created here. The game is only part of it but I spend more time here than I do in the game. And I suspect it’s true for others too. Much as I enjoy the game I don’t know if I would still be playing it three years later if I hadn’t found this community…
And, even though EA refer customers to this site on a regular basis, I don’t think they realise just how much work you save them by providing answers to so many questions. If this site didn’t exist their call centres would be completely swamped!!!
I think it is time for EA to come to the party! I don’t do social media (Facebook/twitter etc) but maybe members of this community can suggest ways for us to campaign with EA to step up? While I don’t do social media I can e-mail… 😄 At the very least they should be providing the donuts you use. That would mean that the money that this site generates which you all currently spend on the game (and probably subsidies from your own pockets) could be a little compensation for some of the time you spend doing the research and writing the posts – even if it only covers a fraction of it.
I do think its important that this site iremains independent from EA but sponsoring donuts for the three of you to be able to speed up tasks would not give them the right to dictate content etc. but would allow you to provide the information we demand 😊 to enjoy the game…
How would the three of you feel if EA, at the very least, supplied your donuts?

Not sure about that hashtag though….sounds too suspect. (I know certain hard-core illegal drugs can cause sugar cravings (not talking pot munchies) and I also think that donuts are a staple of any AA and NA meeting. (Sorry for some vagueness here…having, thankfully, no personal experience with hard-core illegal drugs or AA/NA, I’m relying on things I’ve read about or seen on TV.) Although, I must admit it is a kinda catchy hashtag….
The update for the submersible is gone is anyone else having this issue?
It seems to me that my gamblers are spawning at a lower rate with this update also….the mars plot seems pretty expensive to me…I don’t mind putting $$ into the game…but it looks really BIG….I understand it’s an episode tie-in & all-but doing this during such a big event when everyone is already involved in is kinda stupid…imo..

The line seems to have shifted during the time I’ve been hanging out here…that word ended up censored in one of my posts a while back (which surprised me, since Bart says it in the show on plenty of occasions), but it seems to be permissible now (as I think it should be, because Bart says it on the show on plenty of occasions).
Now it wants to take Rich Texan AND Lisa away from my Casino Chip earning? According to the calender I’ll still get all the prizes at least.
I think there might be an Easter egg in this. Above the shorter tasks, I noticed that you could send Marge for Narobics (3hours) and Homer for a different 3 hour task. Didn’t see anything for any of the rest of the family, though.

All of the Investorettes have their Narobics tasks showing up first during the event… for some strange reason.

marge, luann and a couple of others have all had highlighted narobics missions since dep space homer finished. sending them dosn’t clear it.
The Narobics job didn’t really go away after it was added during the previous space event.

EA must be having a devil of a time with level 60 either that or we arent getting any more levels.
I believe EA is trying to allow the newer players a chance to catch up.
If they want newer players to catch up then they should re-release a lot of the older items again for free. For example, the monorail. Older players like me can earn 5 donuts a week. New players will never have that chance. Nor will they ever be able be able to get some of the characters / decorations from long ago and never be able to complete any sets.
The next level bonuts is at a ridiculous high level (8,58 million XP) in my game 😡
I think it maxes at 10 mil.
Way over 4 million in my game and I already hold off blowing money for XP. I’ve accumulated 150 million $ this way, despite various setbacks from fully upgrading the IRS, Redwood and spending several 150.000 $ during Act 1’s bonuts…
I’m planning to wait for a new level, activate the XP Collider and spend at least 70 million $ for donuts,
Hopefully, they’ll release level 60 latest once the season is done and the summer lull arrives.
Then 9 mil then 10 mil. I’m at 7 mil.
You might be happy to know it caps off at 10M XP. I’m on my 4th or 5th pass of that… today’s update at first made me panic that level 60 is coming and the current XP level would be reset, so I almost started spending my $ millions on rat trap trucks to not lose the nearly 6M XP I’m currently at. Thankfully, a quick check here brought my blood pressure down right away.
I’ve already gone through 2 10M rounds….sh*t happens, I guess.
I think EA is gearing the game away from currency, and shifting it towards donuts. That’s certainly the way it’s played over the last bunch of months.
A new level can’t possibly be *that* difficult to do, not when they are cranking out these large events.

I think it’s possible that Level 59 really is the last one they’re planning.
EA is, as always, full of surprises.
Ugh just when I have no money and 31 doughnuts and only a week to get it. I’m sure I will. Definitely need the Yellow Submarine to commemorate the passing of George Martin.
On the plus side just hit level 3 of crafting, no more upgrading!
The billboards on the Mars Colony are hilarious! I may just have to indulge in that, even if it looks HUGE. 😀
And naturally, after over a year and a half of grinding, I just finished getting the LAST of my Squidport Tiles a few weeks ago, and now they have a way to potentially speed things up. LOL! *shakes head slowly* Well, at least it’s of potential benefit for newer players. No matter what, it looks spiffy.
It IS huge, but I love it. Just wish it cost a tad less for a deco.

I can only go off of what I’ve experienced. In my game squidport is maxed and I’ve only gotten ornate tiles. BUT that doesn’t mean it’s not accurate. I’ve got to test it more, which is why i said more details would be on the should i buy.
For me, I only trust what I test and experience in the game. The files may say one thing, but if you don’t see it play out in the game itself I don’t trust what the files say.

Pier tiles are cool, although I misread the name as ‘retrieves water tiles’ and hoped to get more water to spread out my private island/luxury yacht etc. Oh well 🙂

Honestly it’s a little too much. I already have Lisa investigating Mr Burns which takes away from earning chips. Now I had to use her for this new tie in. It also wants me to use Rich Texan for this also. If I didn’t have the Texan I assume it wouldn’t require him. If I wasn’t ahead of the game on chip collection I wouldn’t complete this new quest.
Yeah, it always seems like the updates that occur during an event require the characters that are busy doing the event (usually Homer, Lisa and/or Bart).
I wonder if they realize this and don’t care, or just don’t think about it.
Yes – it’s intentional. Homer and Lisa are the only two characters that everyone has, no matter how new to the game. (And Bart doesn’t come too far up the levels, either, IIRC.)
…or do it intentionally for making players feel challenged to prioritize tasks.
I intentionally postponed Lisa’s 2h tie-in job until after the night because the sleep/off-game time would be better suited for her 4h casino job. I’ll do the 2h job now and then send her back to earn event currencies.
I think the free building will work good just outside my NARA area, but the premium items seem like a big pass, especially with better stuff in the event store

Yes. Store is ok, sell is not. You can clear it for donut changes though…(6s task for Homer and/or Lisa)

Space debris isn’t sellable, but you can clean it up and possibly find a donut.

I just had the update, after the first story it says build Exploration inc. It says i build it allready but i didnt. Any toughts?

It looks like this update also fixed casino Bart’s payout. He’s paying premium now.

Wow Alissa, this has to be another one of your Jedi mind tricks right? I just came out of my game, where there was NO sign of an update , to take a peek on here … where you said there was this update … impossible, right? So I went back into my game, and there it was … I’m thinking you have to be using some different sort of time currency from our boring old earth minutes to get a whole post up there in that time!
I think that I’m going to skip the premium items on this one. I’m committed to saving up for the Crazy Cat Lady this time.
I love Crazy Cat Lady’s ‘throw cats’ task. I’ve been saving up for SF Gorge ever since it came out, but every time I get close to 250 I end up spending my donuts on limited time event stuff. After these last skins for Bart & Miss SF I have 1 donut left. 😢 This would be a good time to hit 100 on a couple scratchers. 😎 Rachel
That’s what I do too. I will have just a couple less than what I need and we get hit with a limited time item that I can’t pass up. This time though I only have 41 so………… No scratchers for me for the next 2 months either or my kids will murder me in my sleep lol.
