So, like usual, I figured one big Addicts Question Corner is a lot easier than me trying to answer every question individually in the comments. Plus this post should help answer some of the most common questions..even if you’re not asking them. 😉
So without further ado I bring you the Addicts Question Corner…Fire Edition!
I Don’t See The Update, Why Don’t I See It?!
To see this update you MUST at least be on Level 15 and have Moe unlocked. Both Level 15 and Moe are a requirement to start this event. So if you’re Level 15 and don’t have Moe you won’t see it. You must have both requirements met.
If you are above level 15 and have Moe unlocked, try hard closing and restarting your device. If that doesn’t work, try uninstalling and reinstalling TSTO (as long as you have an EA/Origin account)
Is Tapping Matches in my Neighbor’s Town Vandalism?
From what I’ve observed, no. There is no indication in the files that setting neighbor’s buildings on fire will cause damage to your Righteousness rating on the Conform-O-Meter. So don’t freak out about it. I’ve been out of my town for several hours, came back to nearly every building that could be on fire, on fire…and no impact.
Will Fires Set to my Neighbor’s Buildings Cause Damage to their Town? (or my town)
No. It’s just a visual thing for the game. Once you tap the Fire Hat the fire is put out and there’s no damage.

How Come I’m Not Earning Medals For Tapping Matches In my Neighbor’s Town?
From what I’m seeing, it looks like neighbor actions for this event max out at 16/day. So you can only earn medals for the first 16 actions/day. However, you should still tap matches because it does help your friends. And in return your friends will help you 🙂
Why Is There Nothing to Tap in my Friend’s Town?
Probably because every building that can be on fire is already on fire, and they haven’t gone in to clear them out yet. So try again in a few hours 🙂
What’s the Spawn Rate for Fires In My Town?
The Spawn Rate for Fires in your town…not building fires, just the random fires that popup….is every 15 minutes. With a max of 15 in your town at once. There is no bank for this. So what this means is, if you leave your town for 3.75 hours you’ll have the max amount of fires in your town.
Why do Some Fires Earn 10 Medals and others Earn 20?
Honestly, no idea. The files say the payout is 10 medals for tapping fires. My only explanation is it’s two fires right on top of each other.
And no it’s not just you, it’s happening to everyone…myself included 🙂
Can Fires Be Anywhere? Or Just a Set Location?
Fires can appear anywhere in your Springfield, so you’ll have to look around for them. I suggest if you’ve found all you can and still think there might be some hiding go into your move menu:
And “ghost out” buildings and decorations to find more…yes I know this is an old graphic, but the images still look the same and it’s what I had in the media folder 😉
Is that a new Skin for Ralph that unlocks when you earn the Fire Station?
Not a skin for Ralph, just a task you can have him do at the Fire Station.
Is it a Permanent Task?
So far, yes. After you finish the Fire Event questline you can still have Ralph do the task. It’s called “Do Tricks” and takes 8hrs (earns $275,70xp). It’s preformed outside the Fire Station.
Note: it’s still available now. I don’t know for sure if it’ll still be around when the event ends. We’ll have to wait and see.
Do I Need to Buy Fireman Homer and Fireman Apu to Complete the Event?
No, you can complete the event without spending the donuts for these two. However, buying them will make the event go faster for you, as they earn at a higher rate for medals. Check out the Should I Buy post for more details.
I HIGHLY recommend, waiting until you’ve earned all of the event prizes to do the questlines for both of these guys. Questline won’t earn you medals, well some tasks will but in general it won’t earn you medals. In fact, I’m not even going to post the premium Turbo Tappin’ until next week. So just let their questlines sit in your task book for now and earn medals with them. 🙂
There’s a Problem with Where’s Maggie, Is it Just Me?
No, it’s going around. There’s a bug with it right now. My best suggestion is contact EA and then wait for the patch.

Thought you should note that anyone under level 19 cannot finish the quest past part 3 as part 4 requires Quimby and he unlocks at level 20. Therefore lower level players are locked out after getting Animated Moe.
Help! I have Moe and I am level 44. I have earned Moe’s fire fighter skin, but have not been awarded it, though I have gone to earn the prizes after the skin. I have checked everywhere, including the bar, the actual character, and my inventory. I have hard-closed the games and even uninstall/installed it. What do I do next????

Playing this game for a long while now and this is the first event I just can’t stand and can’t wait for it to end. Holy crap it’s boring.
How long is “A while” with playing the game? There are times where it could be “boring” to some, but I enjoyed this one! I am going on 3 yrs this July, and have played all the Quests, and some are more fun ,and maybe a diff feeling for others of enjoyment!
Fires haven’t been respawning in my Springfield – I see that a few other people are having the same problem. I deleted and reinstalled the app (iOS), which spawned a few fires, but I haven’t had any since – any ideas :(?
You done with Questline and have Fire Station?
It’s likely they are all hidden. I wasn’t seeing new fires in my town either, so I followed the edit mode instructions and blanked out buildings and decorations and then I could see them. Once cleared, they started to respawn. I go into edit mode each time I look for them. There are always some hidden.
I had this issue too, just now all of my fires were hidden behind buildings. It’s a bit of a pain but what are you gonna do eh?
I was surprised that this mini event featured the fire station I had thought it would be the big summer event which leaves me wondering what’s in store.
I would like to meet the characters who were left on the cutting room floor or in deleted scenes.
What this with no lighting neighbors houses?
Now that I have the Springfield Fire Dept Building, I don’t see any fires being set in my town, or any friends putting my buildings on Fire?? Am I missing something?? Thankyou!!

I have a problem earning medals by visiting my neighbors. I noticed that in the current event only allows earning 16 medals in 24 hours. Today I decided to spread the fires around by setting 1 fire in each neighbors town and then collecting 2 cash. I went to 3 or 4 neighbors and after that I stopped earning medals. This sucks. It appears that tapping to collect anything counts as “collecting a medal”. Has anyone else seen or reported this? I try to visit every neighbor every day, but to do that time consuming task without rewards makes it pointless. Is there a workaround or should I just visit 6 neighbors a day only tapping matches, before visiting/tapping anyone/anything else?
It’s same every Event. A tap is a tap no matter what you tap on in a neighbors. So always go for Event payouts first… then extras. 😉
…and no need to spread it around. Your neighbors still benefit the same even though you’ve hit your maximum for the day. No different than non-event neighbor visits.
I am guessing that after you get the Fire Station you no longer get medals or anything else other than the continuing quest with Ralph, Homer, and Apu.
Worse, it appears as though you are no longer able to help your neighbors – no matches, no fire starting.
Bummer! Neighbors, I wish I could help, but you are on your own.

You don’t see any matches in your neighbours town when you’re finished collecting for yourself? Are you sure that it’s not that a particular neighbour just don’t have any more houses to set fires on? I’m able to find matches in all my neighbours towns.
After I earned and placed the Fire Station, I was completely out of the fire game except for the Ralph quest and the premium Apu and Homer quests. No more fires spawning, no more buildings set on fire by friends and unable to set friends buildings on fire. It’s just the normal, non-event neighbor visit experience.
I’m finding that out also!! What gives??
My favorite King of the Hill is when they burned down the fire station.
So the random fires in my town haven’t spawned for the last 24+ hours. Anyone experiencing this or have any ideas? Level 59, have tried hard reset, still nothing.
Definitely won’t be able to finish this event with just Fireman Moe all on his lonesome.

I suggest re-reading the TSTO post you commented on.
Fires get hidden behind buildings and you can’t see them. Post explains how to find them.
Anyone else having the old ‘crashing when visiting neighbours’ issue? I’ve un- and reinstalled but to no avail.
Sounds like possible memory and/or connection issues. Try some basics.
Like…
If you are pushing MAX on the items in your town, store some items.
Check your connection to make sure it is a solid one (WiFi is usually best)
Make sure you have at least 2GB if not more of open space on your device.
Make sure no other devices are running in the background on your device while TSTO is running.
See if it is just ONE neighbor, if it is… could be THEIR town is too full and your device can’t handle the memory involved in opening it. If so, you’ll have to skip them.

I finished the prize track without even trying, got the firehouse and no longer able to start fires in neighbors towns 🙁 I guess I should have waited to buy the Homer/Apu Premium Skin pack, oh well, on with the event wrap up storyline! A very quick micro event for me, still lots of fun for a couple tap happy days. I can only wish for skins for the burning buildings from this event, all of them were simply awesome looking fire animations, the fire coming from the doorway of the Kwiki Mart was too cool! Hope EA does a Firehouse 2.0 event, I enjoyed this one.
Finished it without even trying, yet, you say you purchased Homer and apu skins that generate event currency. That’s trying…
Unless, like me, he bought them because he liked them, not because they generate currency.
I bought them because they look cool and I like them, I didn’t play often so breezing through the prize track was a surprise, had I known that would happen I would have bought the premium skins at the end. I have a lot of burnable buildings and active neighbors, still finishing so fast was a bit surprising.
Wierd… does anyone else’s level 5 business center and valet parking sound just like the condo? Is this new?
That’s been happening for a while. It was fixed once, then went back to it again. There are some other things that have the same sound now. Maybe they’re just trying to pare the file size down a bit, and didn’t think anyone would notice. =]

Bah, what’s with this Homer, Skinner, and Moe Fireman nonsense. Everyone knows Springfield’s volunteer fire department is Apu as chief, Wiggum, Krusty, Hans Moleman’s mustachioed twin, Luann, Barney, and Otto.

The system fires (as opposed to ones set by friends) are grayed out when you choose to not view people; so I usually hide everything but the people; makes them a bit easier to see.

I haven’t had fires to put out (in my town) since part 2. I thought was normal until I ready this post. I’ve reinstalled my game and fires started appearing in a few minutes. Thanks for your help!
Ever since I got the firehouse, I no longer see fires nor can I burn my neighbors homes. Has anyone else seen this?

The majority of my characters have a yellow highlighted task this morning to “buy milk”. No quest line related to it. Any idea what this is about? I currently have a bunch of characters buying milk at the Kwik E Mart as I’m hoping it’s an Easter egg.

There’s no way I’m seeing that many spawned fires. I can check in the morning (yes I’m ghosting items) and maybe see 5 random flames.
Nor me. I left the 3 hour task going, came back and 0 new fires in my town. I should have had 12 by the 15 min rule, I’d have expected at least 10, but nothing
I was thinking they could expand the firefighters collection by adding a new skin for Ned so he could do “Firehouse Ned’s 5-alarm chilli” as that is how the space coyote episode starts, with the chilli cook-off and the Guatemalan insanity pepper.
Or is that me trying to connect ideas in my confused head?

Usually people complain of boredom when there is no event going on – they complain of fatigue (or wanting time to decorate) when there are too many back-to-back events.
If you’re finding it boring *because* there are too many events, either just decide not to play one of them or maybe find a different game that suits you better. IIRC, FarmVille is less “event” oriented, for example.

I was addicted to FarmVille several years ago…lasted about a year (I think) and then I had to quit cold turkey to get out of it. If I had been a part of a FarmVille community site that was like this TSTO site, there’s a good chance I’d probably still be addicted and would never have found TSTO and you guys.
My girlfriend, too. Anything connected directly to Facebook I’m against. Like you say, they might have kept you, and since I wouldn’t be over there, maybe a little offense is needed because we’d rather you be here than there. 😉 (Though, I maintain “no offense”. 😛 )
