Hey Howdy Hey Tappers!
The Wild, Wild West is alive and well in our pocket-sized Springfields!

Loads and loads of stuff with this event…and it’ll last until late May. So TAKE YOUR TIME and Don’t Panic!

It’s live on Android and Kindle. If you don’t see it in your update list try directly searching the App, that’s what I had to do.
As always I’ll be back with more as soon as I play through a bit of it…for now know that it starts off with a 6s task for Lisa followed by a task to build the Town Plaza (Free, also takes 6s). This is then followed by 6s tasks for Apu and 3 Springfielders…Then you’ll need Homer free to start the next part (everything else Auto starts)..followed by more 6s tasks lol. Then you’ll have to build the General Store (also free), and the event itself will start up for you…
Also EA made a BUNCH of improvements to the game…we’ll cover those below as I uncover them myself…
First thing you’re going to notice…before anything else…is the look and feel of the game is a bit different. EA made some enhancements to the look of tasks and the character locator.

(Check mark on the character locator now indicates when the tasks are complete for that character..)
EA does explain it all in a popup…

Also, the little icon next to the tasks above indicates that it’s a visual task…nice improvement. (they must read this site 😉 )
New Land!
![]()
A new strip of land has been added at the very bottom of your Springfield (just below where the last strip was added). It runs from left to right, starting at the water.
As of right now you cannot place Dirt on the new land…an odd glitch.
Dirt and Dirt Roads!
Just like pavement, roads & water Dirt and Dirt roads are free! So build to your hearts content…

Dirt looks like this…
4 dirt tiles together….
Dirt Roads look like this…
4 tiles together…
Ok so now onto the event…
As I mentioned above just about all of the initial tasks take 6s. After you do the first task with Lisa you’ll then be required to build the Town Plaza

Then after several more tasks (all 6s) you’ll be asked to build the General Store

Building the store (which also takes 6s, shocking I know) is what will trigger the Event to launch in your game. So once you’ve built it you’ll see the event explanation screen popup, and your Springfield will change over to event mode…

As you can see Act 1 ends in 14 days…so you have until May 3rd to complete Act 1 (and earn the prizes) before Act 2 starts up…
There’s a little bit of everything with this update….item gathering for prizes, crafting, resource grinding…all stuff we should be familiar with these days 🙂
Let’s start with the basics…the new stuff in the store. Here’s a look at the new store offerings…

And now onto the Act 1 prizes…

….here’s what it’ll get you.

Yes we’ll have a Calendar…
Ok guys that you should get you through the first part…my iPod died and I have to go get Miss Riley.. (i still don’t see the update on Android as of this typing). So I’ll be back with more info after a certain little girl has gone to bed…in the meantime, play the questline! It’ll always guide you through everything you need to know 🙂 Now that a certain little girl has decided to go to bed I’m back to updating you guys…
General Store Exchange
After you’ve build the General Store and unlocked the event itself in your game you’ll unlock the ability to do General Store Exchanges. This works similar to the Monorail Event, where you collect resources by sending characters on tasks and turn those resources in for Prize Track Currency and other prizes…

As you can see you can exchange pick axes (and hats) for Clues…and the more you trade in the prizes that you see down below you’ll unlock. So by handing in two projects you’ll earn the rocks you see below.
Make sense? For those that were around for the Monorail, and still do the Rail Yard this will all be very familiar….
Bandits
Continuing to follow along with the questline, the next part you’ll unlock is Bandits….

You can earn more
by tapping on Bandits. Bandits will roam around your Springfield and they look like this…

Tapping Bandits will earn you
as well as
and the occasional Prospector…
(we’ll cover those in a minute). Remember
and
are used at the General Store to get more
and unlock other prizes. While
are used to unlock your Act 1 Prize track prizes.
In addition to tapping the Bandits roaming around your Springfield you’ll also be able to clear them from hideouts. To clear them from the hideouts, simply tap buildings with the
over them, in your town.

When you tap the
you’ll see them appear outside of the building, i’ve been finding 3-4 bandits per hideout. Simply tap them again to earn the crafting and prize currency.
Clearing Bandits will also upgrade the Plaza..

Upgrading the Plaza will unlock Town Plaza jobs for more characters…in this case Marge. (More characters that have Jobs at the Town Plaza, the more currency you’ll earn…) Upgrading the Plaza will also unlock more Bandits and other things, we’ll cover this completely in an upgrade post later on….
Prospectors

Again, following along with the questline…the next thing you’ll encounter is Prospectors. You can earn Prospectors via tapping Bandits, and you can send Prospectors to other towns to protect your Gold..

When you leave prospectors for your neighbors, they’ll be able to tap them in their own town. They’re actually pretty good..1 can be tapped multiple times. I got 24 pickaxes from 1 on 1 tap and could tap him again. I do not see a benefit to you just yet on them tapping or not tapping them.
So far it just looks like a nice thing to do for your neighbors…
Starting a Craze and Generating Resources…

So a little different with this is you can decide which crafting currency you want to earn from the Town Plaza.
Starting the Craze with Apu will earn you
and starting a craze with Homer will earn you
. Choose wisely because you can only do one at a time. So if you’re working with Apu and earning
, you won’t be able to earn
.
To start click on your town Plaza and start a Craze

And decide if you want
or ![]()

You’ll then be able to send other characters on 4hr tasks to earn the resources…

The characters are the same for both crafting currencies…Homer, Apu, Lurleen, Cletus, Marge, Bart, Buck & you’ll unlock more as you upgrade…(Gummy Joe, Moe, Krusty..)
Story Finales…
You’ll unlock these as you unlock more prizes. But here’s a quick overview…

We’ll cover this more in depth in another post…but basically every act will earn you an animated scene…the finales.
And that’s it my friends! The quick rundown details of the new Wild West Event!
What are your thoughts on the event? Excited about the prizes? Happy to finally have dirt roads?! What are you most looking forward to? Sound off in the comments below, you know we love hearing from you!

I have a daily challenge to collect 200 pickaxes, but after spending pickaxes to get clues at the saloon, the daily challenge screen now says I have collected -486/200. This has to be a glitch, I was happy to get an event linked challenge but have now binned it 🙁
I’m update has a glitch as I have black box’s on all characters and jobs can’t see what I’m doing HELP
as long as you have an EA/Origin account…uninstall and reinstall TSTO.
(Before anyone points out the obvious – that this is the Addicts site and not EA’s – we know EA is watching (stalking but in a nice way?) Alissa, Bunny and Wookiee so I have no doubt that they will see this letter even before the moderators have a chance to moderate it)
Dear EA
Hope you and the family are all well and thriving?
I really wanted to thank you for the new event. I personally love events and would happily go from one to the next to the next ad infinitum – although I know that that wouldn’t suit everybody.
I also wanted to thank you for the new strip of land. I am forever running out of land, especially when you are so generous with new buildings such as during the Casino event, so every new strip is appreciated!
The new improvements to game play (Quest Badges etc) will be a great help too.
However, could I make one or two teeny weeny little suggestions…?
It is very very useful that the Character Locator now has a green tick next to characters who have completed tasks ready for collection but would it be possible to skip to the next character without being ‘forced’ to clear the Thumbs Up’? I often want to leave a character whose task is completed right where they are until it suits me to clear it and send them on a new task but if I try that currently then it stays on that character and doesn’t let me move on to those who still need tasks. A good example is Ray. Once I have almost filled the SF Dump I leave him there with a thumbs up so that I can’t accidentally send him on a longer task as I might need him in 10 minutes time to collect more junk…
I really love the new dirt roads and tiles and look forward to using loads of them. I am sure by now you have been inundated with complaints about roads and tiles not being able to be placed on the new land so I won’t bug you about that. What I would like to point out is that it appears that the dirt tiles have been modeled on the River tiles rather then the pavement tiles. Unfortunately this means that the edge of your dirt (or desert as many will use it) has a nice ‘fringe’ of green grass… Not really in keeping with a desert wouldn’t you say? Now some people might prefer it the way it is but this is about me not them! Pease consider changing it to look like the pavement and not the river.
So that’s all the news for now – if I think of anything else I will drop you another letter.
Hope Spring has sprung in your neighbourhood and everyone is happy and healthy.
Toodles
MAB The Great
😄😄😄
Same! I’d love it if we could skip through or, alternatively, if we could move and place characters.
WARNING
There is a bug with the daily quest and clues, For example if you need to collect 100 hats for the daily, but you spend 200 hats on clues you, it will make you have -200/100 for the daily quest.
Does going to Krustyland/Friend List and back fix it?
Nope, i’ve tried this. The only solution right now is to finish the daily before you spend your pickaxe/hats on clues
so if we are getting friendship points from visiting neighbours then this means no bonuts from friend visits right!? Therefore once we have reached limit for daily friend actions that reward event currency then it’s pointless visiting the rest of the neighbours!? Also is anyone else seeing the glitch for daily actions where you have to collect pick axes to win 64 pick axes but mine says -814/200 I think it’s because I handed some currencies in at the general store in exchange for clues so it’s registering as a minus figure!?
WARNING
Hi, I don’t know if anyone caught this but, there is a bug with the daily prize. For example if you need to collect 100 hats, but you spend your hats on clues you will go into negative numbers. It now shows -208/100
I had to clear lots of space, I removed some apps cleared the data for Tapped Out, but I managed to get in. I now have a fair bit of space, not sure why I needed to clear so much as I now have plenty left(I should have had enough room yesterday) but I’m just glad to get in. It seems good, kind of like the monorail event. I would love it if they did the same thing and added some way of earning new things by trading in items after the event, like the Railyard. Hopefully I can save up a lot of donuts to get Buck and some other items, I’ll see what comes out and I have a long time to decide which is good.
Anyone else notice some tasks you can rush for free now? Granted the tasks have to be nearly done anyways but still!
I had a Arnie on his 24 hour task and was able to rush the last hour and 30 mins for free. Hoping it’s a permanent change and not a glitch or something to do with the event.
I had the problem where I downloaded the update but it wasn’t auto starting. I gave up and went to bed and then this morning it worked. Guess the game was just trying to tell me I was tired and should go to sleep! nearly missed my train this morning though as I was busy trying to get through the first stages of the event!
Bye Bye Springfield Heights. With the dirt road/patches alone I can turn the Northern Mountain Area into a Badlands. So many ideas! *Mr. Burns finger tent* Excellent…..
Getting the hang of this but really loving it so far 🙂 Buck McCoy is one of my favorite one off characters and I really love the look of everything…I already have a good area empty for it too, so it won’t wind up a messy pile in the middle of nowhere like the casino stuff LOL
I am still having tremendous difficulty visiting my friends (each one takes forever and a day to load, then the game crashes pretty much after each one, nothing else running, should have enough memory, etc) so to my friends my apologies, and understand if you want to defriend me. I’ll be doing my best to drop prospectors when I get them.
I also love the updates to the task statuses and task bar – I’d much rather look at that box all the time than the Springfield Heights tasks I never plan to finish!
Hello,
Does it worth it to buy Lurleen now ?
In my opinion it’s never worth it to buy a character just for an event. If you wanted her before then it’s all the more reason to buy her. If you didn’t want her before then she’s still not really worth it.
Was wondering if anyone has noticed periodically when they’re visiting friends if they’re hearing a growling . I noticed that I was hearing this growling noise when I was visiting other friends Springfield’s . Haven’t heard this growling before this particular event.
It indicates that prospectors are there
So far, they have left out the visual indicators on the tasks for some of the premium characters like Mona and the crazy girl that was the bus driver bride to be?
At the general store exchange, even though day 2 prizes are still locked, I was able to keep handing in trades. I did this blindly not knowing what is happening. I have already obtained both Day 1 prizes. Have I being wasting my resources when I handed in my trades while day 2 is still locked?
You’re not wasting them, since you’re getting clues for them. But they don’t carry over to Day 2
I have 3 questions:
Are the dirt tiles permanent?
Wes Doobner is probably gonna be a costume, right?
And, who is the boy we will get in act 2 or 3? (He is in the partners collection)
Thanks to everyone who answers you are kind people 😀
BTW enjoying the event so far, what about you?
Most likely
It’s a building..
Wait till act 2 or 3 to find out 😉
Why is there now a free button? Can we rush some tasks for free?
Trying to figure that one out myself, it doesn’t seem to let me speed up the task for free when it shows up
Interesting, there was 15 minutes left on the first 4 hour task for the prospector and I was allowed to RUSH the task for FREE, no charge.
I have to wait 8 hours to start the whole event because I sent Lisa on a task and can’t store her! Hope I won’t be too far behind lol
I tried to look throughout all the comments before asking this. But didn’t see it. So we no longer can rush buildings to get the money from it? All it gives you is the title the reward and time the donut rush tab is gone. Maybe it’s a glitch or maybe is part of the update if people kept hitting it by mistake.
Nope they pulled the rush option on buildings.
What happens if you keep spending material at the General Store while all future prizes are not unlocked yet? Will the material be gone for good or can you “pay in advance”?
You cannot pay in advance, from what I’ve seen.
Earlier today I was doing a task that I think all of my characters had. I believe it was called “get nagged at by Marge”. It was a 6 second task for $35. I logged in this evening & my game automatically updated & now none of my characters have that task anymore! Is there something wrong with my game, or will I get the task back after this event is over? What happened?? Thanks!
No that task wasn’t supposed to be there in the first place, it was associated with Spring Cleaning. The fact that it stuck around in the morning is a bonus.
So I’m not sure if this is new but it looks like you can rush your characters for free if they’re close to the end of their assigned tasks. No more spending two donuts (if anyone ever did that) to finish something up. It needs to be looked into just what are the requirements for doing so but it is a welcome change.
also building collection no-longer has speed up this task. so no more accidental doughnut spends for clicking to claim money
So I missed out on a lot of the past events, so I don’t know what the strategies were with them, but any tips on how I should be spending my trades in the general store and what resources to focus on collecting?
Collect them all…try to keep them balanced. Trade in small to earn the prizes…i’ll have a full breakdown of this.
He rode a blazing saddle…
Sorry, can’t seem to get that movie out of my head with this latest update. I’ve even taken to thinking of my little western town in the middle of my Springfield as Rock Ridge. 😉
so i noticed that when a task is getting close to completion you now have the option to speed it up for ‘free’ anyone try it yet? too nervous to risk my doughnuts.
For the record, some tasks have a running man icon next to them. This is an indication that tasks are visual as opposed to inside.
I do not like the gold box around tasks for questlines. The bold-gold was enough.
Yup that’s in the post above…
Dirt roads! Finally, something that looks right in my forest! Thanks ea!
Sandra, I am sososo sorry if someone posted this already….but has anyone else noticed the FREE rush when characters are close to having their tasks done? I had sent a bunch of people on 4 hour tasks earlier when the new send Spring fielders task came up for the event so went tapping to find out how long I would have to wait…..they all had between 20-30 minutes left but instead of it t saying 2 donuts to rush….it was FREE. Still got paid for each one, with my bonus to $ and xp…..is this new? That is SO COOL if so.
Plus…if your interested posted some flickr shots from dressing up my dirt.
EA is awesome. This is already so much fun and its just the first day!!!!🙌
