Hey Howdy Hey Tappers!
Just popping in to let you know EA just released an in-game update for the Wild West Update (so if you were having space issues before, they’ll pop back up again…).
This is a patch to repair some of the broken items…quick on the draw on EA’s part.
The number 1 thing it fixes (at least in my eyes)…you can now place Roads, Rivers, Pavement & Dirt on the new strip of land!
Another fix? The throw Garbage at Springfield Elementary Task is now gone.
And here’s another…FPs no longer fall from tapping Bandits in Neighbor’s towns if you’ve already maxed out your FPs..
So basically, all of the problems we covered on the questions corner post have now been resolved! Yeehaw!

Yes, mine has! The only way to get him back to Squidport is to store then place him.
Still having memory error when downloading incremental content. I think it’s a bug in the space check using the total amount of all updates vs what you have left available. Instead it should be what’s going to be downloaded vs space available.
I had to uninstall, reinstall, and load updates twice. Big pain to re download 950 megs twide now.
Yay!!! The merry makers are gone again!! I experienced alot of the other glitches but for some reason the merry makers wandering around my town bugged me! I hear the growling too..guessing its just a way to let you know theres a prospector(s) in your town..
I get the “growling” noise as well and it keeps giving me a fright because I forget it’s going to happen! Very annoying.
I’m a little sad that it is not possible to place the cactus patches on dust. And if you just place dust around the cactus patches they get a green frame. Looks a little weird then.
I totally agree with you! The first thing I have tried was to place the cactus on dust near the new stones and we can not (and the green frame is so weird…)
I have written to the EA support, hoping they could fix it.
Sometimes when I log into the game or visit a particular friend’s town I hear the ghoul/growling noise from the last Halloween event (the noise that the ‘rushing’ black/blue ghouls made) that would happen when you visited a town or a neighbor releases ghouls in your town. Strange. It doesn’t always happen. Anyone else getting this? My game is all updated.
Whoa! Didn’t know where to post this, but found another glitch I haven’t seen mentioned. Similar to the boardwalk guy, I just caught Lisa and Ned “clearing junk” WAYYYYYY far away from my junkyard. They were clear across town happily carrying their trash. Weird!
Kinda late replying…but yea I have most of the land & Lisa was more than halfway across town. Btw,,am not a fan of new character locator. It’s like I am cycling through twice now. 1 to clear tasks & 2nd to assign tasks. I don’t use the employment office or whatever it is…
im am not sure if its due to this update but for some reason i cant use donuts anymore to rush building currency for example i wanted to rush Simpsons house to spawn more bandits and thats how i noticed no building in springfield cant be rushed anymore exept the ones in krustyland.
task rushing still works fine btw

Encountered a pretty specific glitch, tap-timing seemed to be the problem…
I was doing my collection of $ and went to SH to clear tasks. I tapped on SHOP to clear it, noticed that a bandit was nearby, tapped it, then tapped on SHOP to reassign tasks. The menu for selecting characters to task came up, then the last bandit message came up. After oking the bandit message, it cleared then everything froze. The select task SHOP menu was still there, but wouldn’t acknowledge taps…
Had to hard reset, relogin, then back to normal.
Patch didn’t fix anything on Kindle Fire game has become totally un-playable. Plan A: report issue to EA hmm don’t have US or Canadian phone. Plan B play on PC on android emulator – Google Play response “Game not available in your area” Plan C find a new game to play Farewell Springfield. Thanks addicts for you help over the last 2 years will have to wait until the UK becomes the 52 or 53 state
You can get on live chat with EA. I’m in the UK and I did that last time I had a problem. No need for a US/Canadian phone.
Just want you to know, I play on my Kindle Fire….and everything is just fine. I’d try uninstall reinstall and make sure you have lots of space.
You’re right about this update being unplayable on the Kindle Fire now. Ea is no help with this. They told me the Kindle is not a supported platform because Kindles are for reading, not playing games, despite the fact that I’ve been playing this game on my Kindle for over two years. Ea told me I’d just have to switch to another device, like I’ve got a spare Ipad lying around or something.
I know I attempted to load games on a Kindle. It was difficult. Kept getting too full too fast. Just not enough space.
Have you tried a complete uninstall and reinstall after restarting the device?
Hi Bunny! Yes, I did the uninstall and reinstall, but it didn’t help. I guess I’ll just have to limp along the best I can and hope for a patch, or failing that hope it goes back to working after this event.
Yes several times. Playability has improved a little but is still problematic. Re; TJ’s comment glad we have parental controls on the Kindle that prevent us (who seem to be playing on an unsupported platform) from inadvertently buying donuts and supporting EA with money!. EA need to have the same control so they don’t continue to “inadvertently” send their Apps to the Amazon App store, an oversight on their part I’m sure, so will we see them removed soon……….

A weird glitch came up for me. It said I was awarded an extra space shuttle and I couldn’t remember if it gave bonus or whatever so I had placed it, then stored it to check the info. 2.5% bonus so I went to place it and it wouldn’t let me. If this happens to you, DO NOT place it. I really screwed myself on this one. Oh yeah and now it wants me to place the rocket platform again, odd.

dont seem to be able to see desert tiles and roads that neighbours have placed down. so there wild west bit is all green
I was just swiping across the new wild west items in the store and then suddenly I spent 90 donuts on the deputy credentials. Is there a way I can get my donuts back as I have been saving for a long time

Space issues on non-Apple devices:
To all those whose device has a mini USB slot (sorry for us Apple types…) and who are struggling for space on their device – You might want to consider getting a dual USB device (pic and link to an example below) which makes it very easy to remove media (books, photos, music, videos etc) and then copy it to your computer. (So you don’t lose your doggy videos Ciara 😃)
Please note that they do not work on all Android devices – your device must have ‘On The Go’ functionality (I think) for it to work. I bought one for use in my Huawei MediaPad and only then discovered it didn’t support ‘On the Go’ 😊
Also note that some dual USB devices come with a memory card built in (should say 32gb or 64gb etc) and some are just a case and you need to buy a separate mini SD card to insert – make sure which type you are buying!
A 16gb one cost me less then $15 (if my currency conversion is right) so they shouldn’t be too expensive – although the 32gb one in the pic is $65 from SanDisk, $50 from Best Buy & from Amazon (or $38 from Amazon with free shipping if your order is over $50).

Everytime I try to to trade for clues it just quits out. Only started after they did their problem fix. I’ve tried uninstalling the app but still does it. Any advice?

I have the Maggie issue as well. I click her floating head, the timer starts, but then nothing happens. I can’t search for her. What’s the best way to report this to EA?

Updated yesterday which was fine played throughout the day. Go on today and I don’t have enough space in my phone 😩. Deleted like 4 apps and loads of photos and it still doesn’t let me in. How bloomin big was that update 😢.
Uninstall and clear your cache and try again..it’s 1.18 GB
Hi there, I feel like a complete doofus here but I need to ask – where/how do I buy dirt and dirt roads?! I am at stage 10 of the quest and have placed the 5 bits of dirt and road as per the questline but I want to buy more!! And I can’t see where or how I ca do that!! I’ve been playing for 3 years so feel like a bit of a dimwit here! Any help would be much appreciated! Thank you.
Just like you place Roads, Water & Pavement…go into your move menu and they’re listed with those items. You may have to scroll a bit.
I got the intermittent missing friend ID thing going on also when tapping prospectors. Some pop up and others don’t. Seems random though.
I really dislike how the interface now keeps forcing you to characters with completed tasks, and no longer allows you to cycle to another character until you’ve freed up said characters. It makes it a pain when I leave Homer a 6-second task and am manually assigning 4-hour tasks to the other characters. They could have just added another button to show completed tasks in a popup.

Played this morning (with the new update) and just went to go back in and it wants me to update again, but freezes and crashes every time it gets to (0.04mb/3.5mb) 🙁 help?

I’m having that issue. I just exited the “task” once, sometimes twice, it asked if I was sure, I tapped no, and it continued on as normal to find Maggie. Hope it works for you, too.
I still have a problem with the “Where’s Maggie?” task (since the Wild West update). The 3-2-1 timer kicks off then the game freezes.
Have you contacted EA about it?
I am having that problem too but if I wait it its more like a slow load than a freeze. As long as the clock isn’t running down try waiting. Worked for me.
I waited 10ish seconds and mine unfroze and I could find her.
Anybody having trouble clearing tasks? I have Homer and Apu stuck on, “completed” tasks but it wont let me clear them. Need to collect on Homer to finish Part 6 of the new storyline.
Try to go out and back in again. Restart device too.

My walking statue man escaped squidport and is wandering around town. I’ve tried moving him but the game won’t let me. 😩 Have y’all had this problem or is mine just a lone escapee?
He does it from time to time. No worries. They eventually will return. 😉

Any details on the free rush for tasks? I was able to rush my 11 minutes remaining tasks.

I think it depends on the length of the original task. So far, from what I have seen in my game is that 1 hour tasks can be rushed for free with 5 min left. 4 hour tasks can be rushed with 30 min left. But…since the task is not complete you have to find the characters wherever they are. I haven’t been able to test 8 or 12 hr tasks yet.

Not sure if this was asked before (couldn’t find an answer), but is there a significance to how many clues we get by handing in trades? Like if all you need are 4 trades to get the daily item, why the different levels of trades with different sizes of clues? Am I asking this correctly? Like why would I make the trade for 150 clues if the trade for 60 clues counts the exact same (and saves me resources for another trade)? Thanks!
If you get the “JUST TRADE” option… definitely go for the lowest. Like you said, save the big numbers for those times you need actual counts. 😉

If this answers your question…if you trade in more resources, you usually get more “clues” which unlock the act prizes.

Not sure if anyone else has noticed this. But before this patch update there was a nifty thing I noticed about character tasks, not all but some when the timer drops below 30-20mins left on task it’s FREE to complete. I read above that someone said they removed spending donuts to finish tasks, I have not noticed this. So far the only tasks I can see that DON’T give the free option are the ones at the saloon for in game currency ie. ‘Rile people up’ & ‘Sell overpriced goods’

Figured it out, all characters have tasks (some multiple) that have a running character next to them eg. Arni Pye and ‘walk the news hound’. If you send your characters on these tasks, once timer drops below a certain time frame they are free to complete. NICEONE!!! thanks EA

No that’s not it. The “running character” tasks are tasks in which the character is visible. The free Rush is available in all non-event-crafting tasks. They didn’t get rid of the donut rush at all except making it free rush at the end.

I cannot visit friends. The game drops out whenever I try. I see prospectors in mine. Bit confused. Am I the only one reporting this issue?
