In my opinion, this is a good buy for both players. Reasonably priced and turns Maggie into a premium character. She’s also got great animated tasks associated with her. I like this one and think you should pick it up…whether you’re a freemium player or premium player 🙂
Of course in the end it’s your decision, we can only tell you what we would/wouldn’t do. And I can tell you or I’ll be picking this one up. She’s just too cute not too! 🙂
Note: Maggie comes with a questline. Her questline heavily relies on Marge and several tasks for Homer. I strongly recommend waiting until after you’ve collected all of the Act 3 prizes before finishing the questline. As both Marge and Homer will be needed to earn event currency at Town Plaza.

Absolutely a must get for me. I was so happy when they finally released Maggie as a full fledged character. She is by far my all time Simpsons favorite.

It’s a no brainer for me. I got this immediately when it hit the stores. When you tap on Maggie when she’s wearing the Prairie skin she makes this adorable baby laugh. Glad I didn’t pass this one up. Just wish they had an animation with her and her rifle.
I got it simply because I am donut rich at the moment. Wouldn’t have bothered otherwise and wouldn’t recommend it to anyone else. Her 1 hour task is the best but how often will I use that when her main job is to earn donuts through her mini-game?
I rarely use one hour tasks anymore. And even when I do, Maggie is usually off on her own, anyways. 4 and 12, or 12 and 4.
I’m confused… How does the Maggie game interfere with using her for 1-hour tasks? I play the Maggie game first thing every morning…the rest of the day (and overnight) she’s free to join the other characters in doing 1-hour or 4-hour tasks during the day and 8-hour or 12-hour tasks overnight.
They’re saying they don’t normally assign one hour tasks (most likely because they don’t check the game as often throughout the day) and that the easiest way to time Maggie for her donuts game is to send her on a 4 and 12 hour task so she’s available every 16 hours.
I see…I guess I don’t think in terms of making her available every 16 hours, since I don’t tap in the middle hours of the night, so I only play the Maggie game once a day. (And I usually only do 1-hour tasks once or twice a day.)
If you sleep more than 8 hours per day you’re pretty much forced to do that. But if you sleep, say, 7.5 hours from 00:15 to 07:45 you can get in a routine of 00:00, 16:00, 08:00, etc. OK, you have to be around at 16:00 too but at weekends or if I’m working from home that works for me.
I reckon I get at least 3 lots of donuts per week – not a big deal by any means but every little bit counts, right?
That, exactly. And also the Unemployment Centre. I keep Maggie separate from the masses just so I can keep focus on the 16 hour thing. If she’s on her 1hr job she’s more likely to get caught up with the hordes when I bulk send them on jobs
I’ll save my donuts and wait til Christmas, then I will buy her premium star-shaped snow suit skin (which surely they have to add to the game), once I have that I would never use Prairie Maggie anyway..

For me, personally, the total sum of the difference in earnings between Prairie Maggie and regular Maggie from now to whenever they release ‘snow star Maggie’ is less than 65 donuts, regardless of how long it takes them to release it.
How much would that total sum be really? 500k max? Let’s just say 1 mil to be safe, would you pay 65 donuts for 1 mil in-game cash? I would not. Like I said, I will wait until the Maggie skin that I want is available.
Does Marge ever get to take Maggie for a walk anymore? I know she rarely does in my town. I think I’ll maybe let them go for one, after the event ends. It’s a pass for me. 🙂
Question… Above the task list, it shows three images for Maggie, but the task lists shows only two outdoor tasks. How do you get to see the visual of Maggie whistling?
That’s her victory pose. I almost always show 3 images in every task list post. The 2 visual tasks and the 3rd is usually their victory pose. (If their victory pose is lame I use either a walking one or a second from the same animation)

How could anyone not love this? The animations are beyond adorable.
My family has been re-reading all the Little House on the Prairie books for my youngest daughter, and I just had to snap up Prairie Maggie once I got all those free donuts from my first ever round of donut farming.
Random question but am curious – I was able to get Maggie in the Maggie event but how are newer players able to get her? Do they have to wait until a sale or does the option of getting her appear at a certain level?

I never heard of that. I thought it would trigger at level 15, with Marge. Apparently it’s at level 26… Any idea why then? What’s the questline?
No idea…but I do know that the playdough factory just appears with it……it’s the same first part of the questline from the Winter event with her

I already picked her up. I’d love a 16 hour outdoor task with the shotgun. I have little kids who play and I’d just use it as one more opportunity to explain proper gun safety to them.
I’m glad, that I don’t have to teach gun safety to my nieces and nephews. No guns allowed in Holland.
IMO, having a gun in a house with children is a potential recipe for disaster, regardless of how much you explain proper gun safety to them. Kids do stupid things all the time, even when they know better. Jumping off the roof can lead to a broken leg. Doing something stupid with a gun can be fatal to themselves or someone else.
Unless there’s a really compelling reason to keep one in the house (like because a parent is a law-enforcement officer or something), I’d say the best gun safety is not to have one (or, if it’s for sport, store it somewhere else and just go get it when you’re ready to hunt or go to the shooting range or whatever).

I do agree with you. Kids never know better, but you can’t get rid of lots of life-threatening things, like knifes, poisons, medicine. I don’t like guns, so I would keep them out of the house, too, but that’s just me. Other people might have a good procedure for handling them. I dunno. Like I said….that’s a different, longer discussion. Fun! (Not!)
Have you heard the phrase “attractive nuisance”? Medicine probably doesn’t seem like a fun thing to play with for most kids, but guns…
At any rate, just so there’s no mistake, this is not a discussion about gun control, per se. Nowhere did I talk about whether or not people should be allowed to own guns, or what laws, if any, should govern gun ownership. All I was saying was that, unless there’s a good reason to do so, having guns and kids in the same house doesn’t seem like the best choice for parents to make.
It sorta is about gun control, but anyways, I understand you. I disagree about medicine, though. The way they’re in those bottles….rattles! That’s why they have “child-proof” bottles. I don’t know why you’d say that. And knives…. kids just want to be grown-ups as soon as they can. But they’re not….
I do agree that there should be no guns in your house but what happens if someone breaks in to your house you have no defense and gun in hand is better than police on the phone.

All I’m going to say is…keep in mind that they’re called criminals because they don’t follow the law. And you can still make a gun via a 3-D printer.
Guns are prohibited in Holland. We don’t have the problem were one person shoots another during a fight. Mass shootings are once in a blue moon.
Gun violence is lower in every first world country but the US. Places that have cut them out completely have great records but that doesn’t always work either. Chicago has very strong gun control laws with a very large gun problem. South Dakota and Vermont have very lax gun laws yet very little violence associated with it. Texas and Florida have very lax laws and there’s so much gun violence I even didn’t go to one of my best friend’s weddings because I’m scared to go to either state. Which leads me to believe it’s a social/cultural problem, not something legislation can fix, we need to convince people they aren’t Dirty Harry.

I finally got enough doughnuts in time to buy Duff Gardens… or I could spend them on Prairie Maggie, Hot Springs & the Old West Sign. I just watched a video of Prairie Maggie and she seems pretty forgettable, aside from the flying eagle which is quite cool. The Hot Springs don’t really do much, and the O.W. Sign even less so. Soooo it’s Duff Gardens for me!
I was so hyped for this skin but the more i think about it the less i like it.
Cons.: all tasks at simpson house (unstorable), no gun visual at all, no 16hr task and does not contribute to the event.
Yeah this is the problem for me. A 16-hour visual task and BAM…I’d have been there. But too many tasks at the Simpsons House that I can’t store. I frequently find myself having to store her right now when I accidentally send her on a task. This would just be a source of irritation waiting to happen for me.
True. But expecting a 16h task, which isn’t that common, and excepting certain visual tasks (we never get to choose), and that she contribute to the event (that’s been how it has been lately), isn’t fair to Maggie….she needs more clothes. 😛

Honestly, it’s really all the Simpson House tasks that are the deal breaker for me more than anything else, I just meant a 16hr task could override that. I go way to fast with my tapping sometimes and I have stored Maggie probably more than anyone else, despite the fact that I’ve had her a relatively short time. I just see no reason to bait myself into screwing up!

My thought EXACTLY. If this skin had either a 16hr task OR a 24hr task not at the Simpson house, I would definitely be buying it.
I think it is ok for her not to be holding a shotgun. It may promote small children playing the game that it is ok to be playing with a shotgun.
I’m completely agains glamorizing guns, especially to kids. But this game has characters smoking, stripping, passing out on the street, staggering around drunk, gyrating on the ground in revealing costumes, buying alcohol while underage, and beating up other characters. I really think the kid-friendly ship has sailed. Parents need to be deciding whether/when the game is appropriate for their children; it’s really not something to just turn a toddler loose with and assume it will reflect your values.
Yeah this game may not be so suitable for minors for many of the vices depicted. But when it comes to a toddler holding a gun maybe they want to be more careful. I noted in the past they had some anti NRA jokes before too. Bart also has a task to explore his morality when he was asked to take care of someone in his cowboy outfit. I guess there is some good in the game.
But what’s more dangerous, a toddler holding a gun or an adult holding a gun? Maybe….it’s the holding of the gun, period.
In my game I’d love her to be holding a gun, all the while I’m against guns….

I really wish her “dance to gramophone music” and “clean her rifle” tasks were visual… I love the “dance to repetitive music” task for regular Maggie and would like an old west version. And she’s holding a shotgun in her profile pick, that’s just false advertising.
