Hey Howdy Hey Tappers!
Just popping in with a reminder that the Wild West Event ends today…May 30th. Looks like the timer will wind down at 8pm EDT…so it’s got a bit of an odd end time.
BUT just because the timer is running out doesn’t mean the Wild West will immediately leave your Springfield. It will take an App Store Update to remove the Wild West from our towns. And it’s likely that update won’t hit until Tuesday..
This DOES mean that you will want to make that final push to gather up all the things you want from the Event before it goes with the Event.

As far as what is going to happen AFTER the Event… well, we can’t know… until it is over. Lol. Until then all we can do is speculate. So, patience. We all have to verify what happens after together.
Now as far as to what is going with the Event, here is a brief rundown…
- Questlines linked directly to the progression of the Event will go. Like the Main Questlines that pulled you through all 3 Acts.
- However, the questlines linked directly the the prizes you’ve won (or character you purchased) will remain. (so Gummy Joe, Buck McCoy etc)
- The event removal will require an app store update to fully remove it from your game. So don’t panic when the timer runs down and the event isn’t out of your game… It will require an app store update to remove everything. Usually those hit around 1-2pm (EDT)
I know some of you still try to push that last few minutes of collection as far as you can. If you turn OFF the auto update feature in your App Market, you may give yourself an extra day or so… just know that ANY time after the 30th is borrowed time and you are doing so at YOUR OWN RISK. EA can force the update at anytime after and make you update. So use any extra time wisely and get what you need before you have to remove the Event completely.
So tap those last few bandits and relax and wait to see what EA has next in store for us.
Remember the items with timers on them will also leave our stores…so if there’s a character or item you’re thinking about buying…do it today before it’s gone!
Oh and don’t forget to get your Day 14 Bonuts from the General Store. Once the event is over you will not be able to get them….
And that’s it! Nothing to do now but sit back, relax and wait for the next big thing…
What were your overall thoughts on the Wild West? Happy to see it go? Ready for what’s next? Sound off in the comments below, you know we love hearing from you!

Today’s daily task is to catch the wanted bandit. He hasn’t spawned at a today so there’s no way to do it.
Hit the x.
Not sure dinking with auto update will get you anything as crafting already died in my game….. Kinda got hosed on creating a bunch of rock decorations myself.
Expatrie-
When i logged on earlier – i had one more Wild west daily challenge thing – for the ‘secret’ prize – the one with a ?. But now – it’s gone. Was I a day behind in the ww challenges?
if so – what was the final prize?
It was nothing.
I’m so ready for this event to be over. I have more currency I could have bought rocks with but at this point I don’t even care. I’m ready for normal Springfield.
Personally casino and wild west themes aren”t fun, so the 2016 isn”t the best year of TSTO for me. I get every prize in both events but I don”t enjoyed it. I miss the bonuts option in this event, its the only thing that make casino event acceptable.
Went back to use the last of my currency from the event and it isn’t showing me any trade ins in the store. Seems the event timed out even though I have bandit hideouts & when I tap bandits they give me currency. Oh well
This take down seems backwards to me. You can still earn event currency, but you can’t use it anymore. Pretty pointless. Might as well revert the buildings spawning bandits to paying currency and XP. It’s not a huge deal, but it doesn’t really make sense. There’s absolutely no reason to delay downloading the update this time.
Bah! Got busy (plumbing issues – D’oh!) and missed my bonuts and any “crafting” I might have done. Not a huge loss; I got so many rocks as prizes. Might have liked another wagon, but nothing to cry over. All in all, I likes the event. I just wish they’d been a little more generous with being able to earn bonuts if we finished the prize track early, even if it was only for act 3. 🙂
I was really hoping this would’ve let us continue & get whatever the last thing we were working on (like in the last event). My son was so close to getting Carl’s Dad Caverns. He just needed one more trip to the store. He’s more than a bit bummed.
As a test, I just sent 10 bandits your way this morning (before reading this). You were one of a few neighbors who were oh-so-close before the event stats shut off. Since the store is gone and most of the dynamite came from trade-ins, that really stinks. Next time!
It’s a good thing I was excited about rocks before, because now I have on heck of a lot of them! Probably too many, but I just didn’t want to waste my hard-earned currency. Now if I only had somewhere to put them all!!
Mine are in my inventory, where they’ll probably stay for the foreseeable future, lol! 🙂
But I like knowing that I have them as a potential design element, should the need present itself…
I had already stored everything but the buildings. I want to get more land and rearrange everything before I decide where all those rocks go. I saw a few other towns were doing what I had planned, so that gives me some good ideas of where to start!
I know where you can put the rocks……..in storage. 🤔
I’m always super happy when an event begins, and almost as happy when it ends. I’d like to see EA come up with a different format for future events. I still really a joy the events, but the format is almost always the same but with different costumes, and prizes.
Maybe TSTO Addicts could write a post that asks us for ideas for new formats? Here’s an idea….how about an event that’s more like the Stone Cutters event with a story line, and an ultimate goal? Something with a plot. It would be nice to have an event that isn’t based on the 3 act format. Maybe the event would be a quest in which prizes are rewarded, but give us different paths to gaining the prizes. In this format, we wouldn’t all be doing the same thing at the same time depending on how each player chooses to play the game.
Does anyone else have any ideas?
Event just timed out on my devices. I can still earn event currency (guns, picks), but the stuff you could buy with them (rocks, barrels) are no longer available for purchase.
No complaints about when it ended here, but I was slightly (only slightly) surprised that the “Coming Soon” after the bonuts was ‘nothing’ just the event sort of ending.
The Coming soon is literally tomorrow, at 5pm Pacific Time. Who knows if that will come to fruition or was just a display glitch based on the previous acts.
I came here to say essentially this. Was wondering why it said event ends in x hours but prize after bonuts arrives in X+24 hours…
In my case I was playing and making my final exchanges and everything you can exchange for the event currency dissapeared at the end of the countdown. No download or update requirement, it was automatic.
I’m still able to collect guns and whatnot, but I can’t spend them. It’s saying that the event is over but it’s only 5:30 Pacific. I wanted to try to get those doughnuts before the time ran out and now I can’t even get into the store. Is anyone else dealing with this?
The time ended at 8pm EDT, so 5pm PDT. Once time is up..it’s up, unfortunately.
Event ended at 8:00pm EST, so you’re half an hour too late. 🙁
Wish I had read this earlier. Since when do they cut things off at 8pm without an update? This has been the worst update ever. Never got Gil back, never got to spend leftover currency at the end. And EA doesn’t care one bit. Sorry to rant, but it’s really frustrating. The game is going downhill so fast, especially with the update footprint.
>
The timer has been on the event the whole time. 8pm is an unusual time, as it’s usually 4am…but I think they stretched it until 8pm because of the holiday weekend.
The timer always runs down before an update hits. Every. Single. Event.
Ummm…there were countdown timers on everything, so the end time shouldn’t have been such a surprise…
Also, I think you’re possibly making incorrect assumptions…my guess is that EA is just waiting for the update to fix the Gil’s Deal thing, so as to not subject people to an extra update, since they know that some people were having problems, space-wise, with the updates during this event. If I’m correct, then that would be pretty much the opposite of what you said.
And why wouldn’t EA care? If people stop playing the game, they stop making money!!
There’s a different “care” between wanting us to play and a care that we’re enjoying themselves. Like, if EA just steals from FGQFS then I would say that that’s not showing that they care…about us. Companies that want to make money aren’t always companies that care for their customers…just that they retain them. Think of the Tobacco industry. Hey, if the Simpsons writers can make jibes at Fox, then the same can be done with EA. (Likewise, all the jibes might not apply, but meh.)
Sometimes EA leaves crafting available until the takedown update, so I agree about this. I just wish they were consistent on these little aspects, then we know what to expect.
Wow.. talk about a quick stop to the game. 6pm MDT and anything that you could buy with Pick Axes, Hats, Guns, Coins were removed. I was buying some more rocks and was in the process of going to by a few more Chuckwagons but they vanished from the Purchase page.. the only things you could buy were items that used in-game currency.
No lag over like previous games where you could still purchase items.
That’s because they were on timers..just like premium limited-time items you can buy in the store. Timer runs out..they go away.
That I knew and have had happen in the past but usually I can still by while I am in the store buying and don’t go out. But this time it didn’t continue.
Not a big deal I was running out of room in my old west.
I think that’s because they were technically “purchased” (from the store), rather than “crafted,” so the timer worked like it did with any limited-time item in the store, rather than relying on an event takedown update to occur.
I LOVED that it came from the store this time. You can make multiple items at the same time, instead of going through the clunky crafting interface one-by-one
Good point! Frankly, it didn’t matter to me store vs. crafting (although, with your point, maybe I do prefer the store method), but other folks didn’t like the hard cut-off.
It’s all gone now. About time. Bring on tomorrow.
Hey everyone,
I don’t know if its been said already, but i just wanted to pop out that, even though i havent updated the game and the event is still “rolling”, i am NOT able to craft anymore!
Lost some currency there, but, oh well..
That’s because it was set up as “purchasing” instead of “crafting,” so they expired (like any other limited-time items), rather than leaving with the event takedown (like crafting does).
so glad this is done. it was easy to work with and i think i got as much stuff as i can. i would like a couple more wagons though. and i wish they had some horses that weren’t hitched to posts. o’werl. great event. ps did they have anything for memorial day??
I tried to put Furious D before a covered wagon. He took a run saying: ” I’m a thorough bred race horse , not a mule!”
Really?? If that’s true, it’s wonderful that they thought to program that…what a riot! 😀
I am pulling your leg 😜
Darn! I thought that might be the case, but I was hoping not. Well done, to you! 🙂
5 minutes left!
Weird. Everything’s gone except for the new Cacti (that can do on dirt) and the Frontier Fence and Gate. I think they should have let us continue crafting, at least, since we might have been gathering more resources til the last moment.
They set it up as “purchasing” (limited-time items from the store), instead of “crafting,” so it makes sense that it would just cut off like that, rather than requiring an update. So, really, what I think some people (including you?) are really saying is that they should have set it up as true “crafting,” rather than making limited-time purchases with another alternate set of currency (a la Springfield Heights).
Maybe. But, they also took away the General Store tab, which is in a sorta crafting location. It all seems very wrong. I got everything, the donuts and rocks, but just not sure why EA needed to remove that for those who weren’t on top of it.
Do the rocks, barrels, etc. you buy with left over wild west currencies have a decent impact on the conform-o-meter?
Nothing really major. I’ll have a conform-o-meter post up tomorrow…
GOOD!!
Well, I’m sure people must have asked about it to death already, but I got the bonuts from the general store and it still says “Coming soon: Something hot!”
I guess this could be a teaser of the next event, but it certainly sounds like at least one new prize will be added before the event is over, i.e. the removal update hits. I guess we’ll just have to wait and see…
OK, the event is now over for good, as the general store no longer does anything and the craftable rocks are all gone from the store (I’m glad I got to craft a bunch of everything earlier today). Pretty lame to leave us waiting for the removal update with nothing left to do.
I know this has NOTHING to do with this, but is there anyway you could make a Marvel Avengers Academy blog?
I tried it. I don’t like it. Hard to write about something you don’t want to play lol
Should I spend my currency or not? Currency: guns, hats, pick aces…
I finished this WW really quickly
If I don’t spend the WW currency, will they turn into dollars??
If you don’t use it you lose it when the event removal update hits
will the dirt and dirt roads still remain after the event?
They should
It was my understanding that the main purpose of the event was to provide players with a new environment (desert) to add to our Speingfields. Just thought I’d throw that out there for those who thought the event was too long. I look at it like we were given a sufficient amount of time to collect desert related decorations because they could be gone after the event.
That’s a good point. (Though, couldn’t they argue similarly for nearly every event?) I’d say if that’s the case, then I hope they make sure that other events are shorter!
It was too long of an event. The Acts went on for too long. They should had chopped off 2-3 days from each Act to either create a fourth Act, or simply end the event…
While I finished all acts with time to spare, I was really surprised by how many neighbors squeaked by in the last hours – and how many didn’t come close. I focused my bandits on those who had a chance to finish and were still actively playing – so, yes, neighbors who sent me bandits long after either of us needed them, I gave yours to charity. 🙂
Two things worth mentioning are that partly since it took so long to load between neighbor visits, I stopped trying so hard to visit every neighbor every day and partly because I do not believe I received a single random donut when I did. I averaged 1-2 donuts per day from visits before this event.
Good job on a very complex and long event, Alissa, Bunny and Chewie! Take off the rest of the weekend. You’ve earned it. 😉
Wait, you get donuts when you visit your neighbors? I have, like, 70 neighbor-eenos and I have never had a bonus donut thrown my way for visiting them. How do you get that?
You have to get all the friend prizes first. Second, you can’t tap Bandits, they give you nothing. Tap buildings. Then, wait for your random reward.
Once you’ve earned all of the Friendship Prizes, you’ll stop getting FPs and start getting triple cash and XP, instead. In addition, there is a .05% chance with each tap that you’ll earn a donut, so, if you have 100 neighbors and visit all of them every day, you should *average* 1.5 donuts per day. However, it’s just an average…some days you might get 2 or 3 or even more and then you might hit several days in a row where you don’t get any.
They suspended the donut-earning aspect during the Wild West event, but I assume it should be back now with the end-of-event update.
Hope that helps! 🙂
Sooooo happy this event is over. I was so bored with it!! Started off great, but there was just SO little to do. Hand in resources for the daily prize and then clear bandits every four hours. Not to mention the rocks…
I did craft a bunch of them though because what else am I gonna spend my supplies on. But ya…very boing event for me, I finished each act with almost a week to spare. Really hoping something HOT means it’s finally time for the chilli cookoff!!!! 😍
I completely agree with everything you said (except wanting the chilli cookoff…I seem to be the only person who’s not interested in that).
Yes…you are the only one that doesn’t want that! 😉
It wasn’t really as much boring for me as it was too long, I also haven’t visited my neighbors in a couple days because of how slow its gotten to tap and wait on each bandit. I don’t have hours to visit neighbors when I don’t even need the bonus that comes with tapping bandits/sending prospectors. They should have had more opportunities for bonuts, 9 donuts for this long of an event? I just think the whole western theme kinda sucks period, too much desert and not enough gold.
Ya there’s not enough ‘Western’ episodes to make a really fully realized event. Western just doesn’t have very much to do with The Simpsons, I think that was where it fell flat for me.
I thought of the chili cook-off (and you by extension) when I read that too! I think it would make a fun mini-event. Fingers crossed!
It’s my favourite episode and the one thing I REALLY want to see in the game so my fingers are crossed too!! 😃
