So the Superheroes Sequel Removal update not only brought the Monorail back to our Pocket Sized Springfields, it also brought a warning about a MAJOR change that’s about to hit our games very soon. This is super important, so listen up….
On August 16th TSTO will NO LONGER BE SUPPORTED on devices that are not on iOS 7 (or higher) and Android 3 (or higher). So if you’re playing on an older device…check your OS if it’s lower than iOS 7 or Android 3 you will NO LONGER BE ABLE TO PLAY TSTO ON THAT DEVICE, starting August 16th.
For those of you that are impacted you will see this message popup in TSTO when you launch it between now and August 16th:
If you didn’t see that message, or you recently purchased a new device, you’re fine.
iOS is currently on OS 9…. OS 7 launched in 2014 with the iPhone 4.
Android is currently on OS 6 (Marshmallow)…
So if you’re running on an old device, it may be about that time to upgrade…especially if you want to keep playing TSTO.
Why make this change? Well it’s getting harder to continue to support the older devices while changing the game to support the newer devices. Newer OS allow EA to do more with TSTO, and when they have to support older OS it limits what they can and can’t do. I’m hoping this change means that they’ll improve the overall lag in the game AND increase the item limit cap. Since most newer devices have enough memory to run TSTO just fine with higher item limits.
So bottom line, if you’re playing on an old device with an old OS it’s time to bite the bullet and upgrade your device if you want to continue playing TSTO.

I have a relatively newer device with no issues, but it bothers me a little that EA insists that the players upgrade their devices, but EA does little to address their own stability and crashing issues. I’m getting weary of the game crashing 4-5 times while I’m doing my friend taps.
Man, I REALLY hope this means a higher item cap.. every update it gets smaller and smaller, and now, bridges count as items.. it’s really putting a damper on my creativity.. :/

Android version 3? Do there even exist pre-3.0 devices that have enough storage to install TO? You need almost a GB. My first smartphone ever was 3.2 and it only had 256MB internal storage; I’m pretty sure I couldn’t have installed TO onto it even with “install to SD”.
I’m not entirely sure on this, but I think different devices have different storage needs for this game. On my old phone (HTC One X, Android 4.2.2) this game only uses ~670MB, while on my new phone (iPhone 6S Plus, iOS 9.3.3) the game uses 1.2GB.
Probably has something to do with the resolution of the device.
Try more than a GB. Mine is currently at 1.28.

Phew, when I read the title I got worried! But most of you have nothing to fear, the excluded versions in Android account for less than 2% of devices worldwide, and even less for iOS.
Has anyone else had this problem: every two or three days, I have to re-download the same updates! Like right now, I have like 500 files and 600mb to re download to get the game to just the same place it was yesterday I am above the version 4 Android limit (barely), but not sure why this happens to me

Try fully uninstalling TSTO and reinstalling it
So should I delete ALL app data as well- storage, cache everything?
Would you recommend deleting EVERYTHING- app, data, cache the whole bit?

As long as you have an ea/origin account, yes
That also sounds like a memory issue. Free up at least 2 Gbs on your device. Most game performance issues are memory issues with your device. Good luck.

I have the game stored on an 8GB SD card though and more than 5.7GB are still available so I’m not sure if this is the problem
You have to have the memory free on your actual device, not a sd card, due to how the game is set up. I also think it is not recommended to put the game on an sd card because of these issues. Hope you get it sorted out.
If you change the screen resolution it redownloads all the textures or sprites whatever they technically are to match your screen resolution.

If you have 5.1, that’s higher than 3…you’re fine.
Will the update need Google Play services?
All updates need Google Play if you have an Android Phone…(unless it’s an ingame update of course)
GP Services are probably not required. I used to play it in an emulator without trouble
I hope this means land expansion and another bump on the item limit. I’m doing okay, but the limits loom over me, and I know many players have hit the hard cap on items already.

Someone help!!!! I’ve spent hours on my monorail and can’t get it to connect. No matter what I do it never connects from end to end by a quarter of a straight track piece, which doesn’t exist!! I’ve been trying to connect my new tunnel to an existing station in springfield and can’t get it to work. Any advice would be most appreciated!!
The best advice I can give you is to see if you have some wiggle room on any of your stations and see if you can move it over by the amount it’s off. If that doesn’t work you may has be to change the direction of one of your stations. It eventually will line up it just takes “a lot” of trial and error unfortunately.
That was my issue, too, months ago. I stored all the track and all my stations and was much happier for it. I know that’s probably not helpful in the way you want, I’m just telling you how I dealt with it.
Like I had to, you will probably have to shift your entire monorail and stations to line up with the tunnel. Some people have been lucky and theirs has lined up with no need to shift things but a lot of us have had to move things – fortunately the ‘Cut and Paste’ tool makes it easier to do.
If you don’t want to shift existing monorail and stations then you either have to create a separate monorail which uses the tunnel, or you have to wait and hope that EA introduces a 1 or 3 square monorail piece. But whether that will ever happen is another question….

Howdy peeps, I recently did the update and now my TO town has everything overlapping itself ….. fences overlap houses as do bushes , fences and characters. I also somehow acquired 33 Soilant Red factories and the felons which should be available in the store do not exist ( I checked someone elses game ). Any ideas how to rectify this ?
First, get rid of any water that is going under any monorail tracks. 2. Store all of the Sideshow Bob rakes. Hard close. If that doesn’t work you can try to unistall/reinstall but make sure you have an Origin ID first. If that doesn’t work you will have to call EA. If it does work you can start reintroducing the water and rakes back into town one at a time then hard closing to see if there are any problems. And I mean one tile of water at a time too. Good luck. Let me know how it goes.

The August 16th date is on a Tuesday (I just checked). I can pretty much assure everyone that the new major event will hit that day.
Even though I’m on KitKat (4.4 or so) I’m still a little scared to see what changes this game will make. Who knows, they might even change the DLC system or at least compress/combine the files for a smaller overall d/l. OR they might keep everything the same and add more stuff and bog down the entire game even for a device like mine.
They should switch to OBB-based DLCs, because it is actually goes to your SD card instead of eating your internal memory with that almost 1GB DLCs.
Does it? Neat. I actually moved my dlc folder to my sd card anyways. It’s very pleasant now without the low storage warning and one single app installed. 🙂

I didn’t even knew Android 3.x until I searched for it.
Most of the Android 3.x devices were ARMv6-based, and it is a really old architecture, as of the modern Android devices (4.x+) are ARMv7(32 bits)-based, and most modern devices are ARMv8-based (64 bits).
For the game, I recently noticed that EA fixed the sound issue with the Radioactive Man Statue, where you kept hearing the “Idle” sound for the Statue even if the heroes were attacking it, instead of the “Hostile” sound which would trigger when you sent heroes to attack the Statue.
I picked up a small tablet at a national electronics chain for $40 that runs TSTO perfectly, Android 5.1, Wi-Fi only,,, could be an option for some folks
I just remember I was knocked out of this game the last time they forced me to upgrade my IOS in my iPhone 3GS. But my PC is down and I do not know how to do it. I think that resulted in a two years hiatus for me.
My whole body went cold and I could feel the juice flowing in my body when I saw this message. As I thought maybe all my efforts in the game is coming to a nil. I just check my phone , it says I am on android 6.01. So I guess I should be ok.

If you’re not able to free up enough space on the device to update, if you have a computer with iTunes on it, try updating through the computer and iTunes instead – it doesn’t require as much overhead space on the device.
BTW, the last part of the comment is reference to a 2015 episodic game?

It’s because from the original info I expected it to be more of an amusement park.
I suppose to be fair I love the lizard queen Lisa skin and it does generate some good cash and xp when I can be bothered.
